Even if I agree that Freddy is overall stronger than Clown, how do you believe that his snares are better than the bottles? They are completely useless against Shift-W players who run as soon as they so you, and if you lead him to an area he hasn't set up snares in, you can abandon the pallet loop while Freddy is trying to make that loop unwinnable.
There are tiles that Freddy can't beat without breaking the pallet, that the Clown can when paired with his speed bottles, like the long short wall tile and the the long pathway loops on Coldwind and McMillan maps. Clown's slowdown is more potent than Freddy's slowdown,as it can be applied instantly to survivors and for far longer than the base 3 seconds of a snare, if you throw the bottle ahead of the survivor. The slowdown itself can be stronger with addons, with a maximum 20% slowdown compared to the snare's 15%.
The bottles are limited and do need to reload, meaning there will be times where Clown can't use them without giving the survivor distance. But Freddy's snares won't work at ALL if somebody is awake, which is bound to occur at some point in the game. Heck at the very start, Freddy effectively has no power at all to down survivors other than being invisible at 32 metres (which is pointless as its the same distance as the TR).
Again, I agree that Freddy is better than Clown, because his kit is more jack of all trades with passive slowdown and map traversal. But Clown goes all in on the chase alone, and it is a bit rediculous people saying Clown is so easy to counter, than saying Freddy is impossible to loop, in the same breath. You can counter Freddy much more effectively in chase than you can a clown, and there will be times where you won't even need to while you are awake.
That is the end of my rant.
Hallelujah. Someone else that gets it too.

Aah yes cause freddy can also place his traps at 20 + meters in front of him. Ow wait.
Well it doesn't matter we are at a loop anyway. Ow nvm they are awake.
Freddy is the better killed but not because he has clowns bottles. Both traps and bottles slow down and force medium vaults. And that's where the comparison ends.
You know that whole "hold w" debatte going on now? Outside of a cheeky gen teleport Clown destroys freddy in that scenario.
I can also say "just stay awake and hold w against Freddy, bam easilly countered"
Freddy can do a lot of things better then clown. Chasing is not one of them.
Hallelujah. Someone that gets it.

Freddy pretty much has his bottles in a "trap" form base kit. They are much stronger and he can have 8 of then down all at once that survivors can't avoid. He is basically Clown, but stronger and with map mobility among other things.
The difference is that the Clown can constantly try to corral survivors with his bottles and he has a speed bottle that doesn't really have a good use most of the time. But all you have to do is drop pallets early and bam, completely countered.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
BWAHAHAHA!!!
Every time I see these “Freddy vs Clown” comparisons, it just highlights just how little is understood by players trying to use Clown.
There isn’t a chance in hell that Freddy can end a chase as fast as Clown!

That's three perks for just a decent gen slowdown. Not even great, but decent. Pop alone can probably beat this combo, and even better if paired with tracking perk.
Pop doesn’t stop Survivors from jumping straight back on the gen after it’s kicked.
THAT’S what makes DMS unique. It doesn’t regress any progress, that’s not its intention. It circumvents that one nuisance killers have always had a headache from when chasing a survivor off of a gen: somebody else jumping straight back on the second the killers back is turned.

@Mistercookie said:
Hello, yes I'm quite serious..
I know the clown is really low on the killer tier list. I know most people will also just laugh at me for dying against a clown but damn no matter what I do this killer kills me super quick.
I'm talking 10 to 20 seconds chases from start to finish.
If I ''hold w'' he throws a bottle my way and I get hit then I can't see anything & I get downed at the next vault/pallet.
I try to strafe and avoid bottles? He catches up too quick. I pre-drop a pallet? I'm either on the wrong side because no matter what 50/50 I try, I get mind-gamed or I do that to myself. Then I vault or keep running and I'm too slow to get anywhere else. I feel the only place I have hopes at evading him would be a building where shutting down everything with bottles is hard.
I literally do not know what I'm supposed to do against the clown. I've read everywhere that you should just ''make some distance'' (against something faster than me?) and that I should never try to loop. So what then? Are you just supposed to accept he'll down you and you gotta hope the team is doing gens quick enough? Because my escape rate is probably 5% against clowns and I got quite decent in chases. I hover around rank 1-3 and while that doesn't mean anything, that's all you can say in this game as far as accomplishments go.
So all in all does anyone have any other tip I could use against this ugly dude... or any perks that you'd found helped you when you faced a clown? I would take anything at this point. I'm so frustrated that when I see the (almost) weakest killer in the game; I know I'm dead.
T.L.D.R. Please I'm bad against the worst killer & I could use anything you can throw my way except ''hold w''.
This really is THE killer I try really hard not to kill myself on hook against.. 😔
I’m a Clown main, and if you’re ever against a good Clown that knows exactly what they’re doing, there is really very little you can do in a chase other than drop (waste) Pallets early. Which isn’t ideal, and they’ll still down you very quickly regardless.
Seriously, Clown’s biggest weakness is survivor stealth. Avoid getting into a chase with Clown in the first place by playing cautiously. Clown’s only means of pressure is ending chases very fast, and quickly moving onto another chase once another has ended.
Too long out of a chase hurts Clown very badly.
-
Everyone seems to ignore though that it requires no wasting time kicking generators, and if more than one survivor was chased off of a gen, the killer can maintain a chase with one survivor secure in the knowledge other survivors cannot just immediately jump back on the gen.
It also stops a killer stressing about a potential DS, because any Obsession switching is great for Dead Man’s Switch.
To be 100% clear, I’m not saying DMS is better than other slow down perks!!! I’m simply saying it’s viable with distinct advantages that other slow down perks don’t have. It can actually be an incredibly effective build to run DMS, Nemesis, and Furtive Chase. Sure that’s 3 perks to make DMS more effective at slow down, but many killers run that many perks for slow down or synergy anyway.

Your comment, which I replied to as the 2nd one down. Read the EULA of the game and a lot of things will become clearer.
It's actually true for a lot of things in life; if you actually use your eyeballs and read things become much clearer.
Comprehension though is an entirely different skill.
Sadly it seems (from my experience) most of the human race lack this.

that everything works fine when you release a patch or a new feature
Every game has bugs. This is an unavoidable fact, and the foundation that DBD is built on makes it buggier than most.
that you don't change our game experience with your tests
It's a live game and, if you read the EULA (End User License Agreement) that you agreed to in order to play this game and must abide by the terms of to continue playing, you'd know that they can do or change whatever they want, whenever they want, as they see fit.
This ^
Plus it’s unreasonable to believe either the devs can snap their fingers and magically have the necessary data for certain changes (or things that shouldn’t change), or believe that a small portion of JUST the PC player base using the PTB is representative of the DBD community at large, and reflects data that would be accrued from the live game.

This perk would be so unfair, there is a reson why movement speed perks are so hard to come by and have so much requirements. Also you could combine this with Beast of Prey for basically unlimited stealth and with Undying for longer duration.
Beast of Prey needs a rework anyway...

Because some chases take a LOT of work. It’s very demoralising having gens pop all around you, only to feel cheated out of a well deserved hook.

I can't believe it, there already nerfing The Trickster. Around 80% of the videos I watched about him was that he lost the game. Everyone is saying that he is fun but weak.
But off course Bhvr gives a big sh** about it and do the opposite. They nerf a weak killer. I really wanted to play him but now I just want his perks and then is rotting in the select screen like clown and plague.
Now my question, why is there a ptb who people can give there feedback when it's getting ignored?
Because feedback is just taken for consideration.
The PTB is for bug testing, and to either validate or invalidate the devs OWN concerns about certain gameplay mechanics.
-
There are some exceptional Demo’s out there that are on point with Shred, and exert HUGE pressure by aggressively using portals as traps and traversal at every opportunity.

Let's ignore the ######### ton of buffs that she received I guess. Same for ghostface and other killers who were garbage during ptb. Besides that, as long as nurse/spirit exists a power like tricksters cannot overperform
The only SIGNIFICANT buff she got was the change to her phasing sound no longer being omnidirectional.
Since then she’s received a number of nerfs, and she is STILL complained about.
Spirit is only one example, even though it’s the best example. DBD history has shown that a PTB isn’t adequate time to determine a killers strength. Its simply for bug testing, and validating or invalidating THE DEVS own concerns about certain gameplay mechanics.

I have that happen to me too. Mostly when it’s survivors that refuse to cleanse, but keep going down anyway. They don’t want to give me CP, but they know they’re at a big disadvantage with me regularly managing to outmanoeuvre them while they’re broken.
So they DC when they go down again.

While I agree with the general statement it doesn't excuse their lack of engagement woth the community over trickster and how blatantly weak he is. Everyone is pretty much unanimous that he needs buffed
“Everybody” was unanimously in agreement that Spirit was the weakest killer ever released during her PTB, and shortly after her release.
Hardly anybody gives any killer enough time to make reasonable assessments of a new killer in question.

I mean...
... if you refuse to get in a locker the moment you see the killer pick someone up off the ground, then it’s your fault telling the killer which gen to come kick with Pop.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
Hey @MadLordJack and @TheClownIsKing I know you both used to play a lot of Plague, you guys may wanna take this one
Cheers.
I’m a big believer that her absolute best perks are still her 3 teachables. As far as perk design having impeccable synergy with a killers power, and how that killer should be played, Plague is the perfect example of this.
Corrupt Intervention - No other killer can exert the kind of control early game with Corrupt Intervention like Plague can. Prioritise infecting the 4 available gens, then patrol and get everyone infected ASAP, even if it means run n gun. Either survivors will respect the infected gens and won’t touch them, or Plague gets free, effortless injured state from survivors starting repairs on them anyway.
Dark Devotion - it’s no secret that Plague can’t mind game. The player can try, but it’s a total waste of time. Dark Devotion compensates this weakness. Whack or down the Obsession, then make the most of those 30 seconds trying to catch another survivor completely off guard. I guarantee that survivors start cleansing after being successfully hit or downed while Plague is Undetectable. The chaos and confusion this perk causes is a real joy, especially if the Obsession isn’t downed and have been allowed to run away.
Infectious Fright - needs little explanation. Plague can snowball like crazy against a bunch of survivors that have refused to cleanse, and are relatively close together. Plague only has to slug 2 or 3 survivors in succession with this perk before survivors realise they need to start cleansing.
4th perk can be anything except Sloppy or Coulrophobia. I like to use Blood Echo. Again because it encourages cleansing. They only need to be denied their dead hard once before they won’t let it happen again.

A friend recently told me they SOMEHOW get to Level 40 to 42 with one million bloodpoints. So I'm curious, for those who have saved up and spent one million bloodpoints on a single character, how far did you get?

Sure thing, I don't see how an issue could really emerge from Clown switching bottle types "too quickly".
As a sidenote, maybe Clown should have some small audio cue on bottle switches? I don't think that's currently a thing and it might help provide some nice subconscious assurance.
There is an audio cue, but it’s quiet. Too quiet to be heard over chase music and ambient noise.

No ideas can be shared and nothing can be said unless it's pro-killer and anti-survivor.
Hell, I bet 99% of you didn't even read this far. The second you read "pro-survivor", you tuned out, tightened your big boy pants, pushed up your glasses, cracked your fingers and were ready to tell off the "toxic survivor main" who posted this.

Nice appeal to authority but no, plenty of game devs have shown that they have absolutely no insight about games. Have you looked at old DBD where it was impossible for the killer to kill survivors with a brain?
You’re forgetting that no such game existed beforehand. They had no template, or previous successful attempts at asymmetrical multiplayer slasher horror to use as reference.
They were having to learn as they went along. You can’t expect people to magically know how things are going to work perfectly when no one else has ever done it before to provide guidance.

No, it isn’t a problem. Fog whisperers are just marketing. Some of them are exceptionally skilled. Some of them are average. Some of them are rubbish. They aren’t the authority on EVERYTHING DBD. Because technically slugging all 4 survivors at the beginning of the game and having them bleed out constitutes as a 4k.

I do think most of us would be fine with giving up a DLC for game health improvements but going mapless to tidy up old maps isn't good enough to me. They have enough money to update and create new content. Why are we getting only one?
Whether you care for the map reworks or not is irrelevant. It’s still hard work and effort on the devs part. This is a sorry excuse for asking for the next chapter to be discounted.

There's a common thing I've heard, some from veterans and some from non-veterans, saying the game is too easy and doesn't involve skill. Tru3 is one of the streams who often says something along the lines of "this game doesn't take talent/skill, it takes game knowledge". Others will often say something like people overrate how much it takes to get good at this game and it doesn't take a lot, Well,
First of all, that doesn't even make sense. Your ability to have skill and talent comes from developing that knowledge. And if said knowledge is so easy to obtain then why is it taking everyone at least hundreds of hours to get in the beginning stages of being competent, and thousands to potentially become good?
There's no excuse for not being able to get better. There are tonnes of resources online for how to get better at the game for both sides. Yet for some reason even with all of these resources, it's still taking people so much time to get better, but yet you still have people who call the game easy to play.
If it was that easy then why is someone who has 400 hours not almost identical to someone with 2000+ hours, let alone 1000? If this game was as easy to learn as some people make it out to be, then why is it that the skill tiers are so distinct from one another, particularly by the amount of hours someone plays? And this is very evidenced by the complaints of "rainbow" matchmaking, or matchmaking not within particularly rank tiers.
Why is it that these said people who say the game takes "no skill" and is "easy" are the ones who themselves have thousands of hours in the game? If it was that easy what took you so long to get to the level you're at now?
That’s the thing. It’s not an easy game. The CONCEPT is simple to understand. But the complexities laying underneath the concept is in the staggeringly high numbers.

At least on PS4 it's just not possible to do flicks with a controller.
IDK whether it's due to issues with the coding behind the sensitivity adjustment he gets during a Rush lunge, or if it's due to some issue on the PS4 version of DbD, but Blight's flick has a maximum of a 90° turn - and usually a lot less than that if you aren't snapping your joysticks trying to make him turn.
If I were you I'd just use Mouse and Keyboard to play him. It's not absolutely necessary, but you'll probably be a lot better off.
I can’t even get a 30 degree turn out of an attack during lethal rush on PS4/PS5. It’s absurd. I think I’ve only ever hit a survivor a total of 3 times since his release.

A lot of times I see games taking a turn once someone gets in basement especially against the certain killers.
Shack can be good for looping a killer but if basement is spawned in there I don't think it is a good idea to be downed there.
I rarely see people trying to avoid going down near the basement even against Bubba, Trapper, Hag etc.
Am I just being too careful not to go down there or it is a smart thing to do even if you go to a worse loop that is far away enough.
Whenever it’s Bubba, Hag, or Trapper I make a point of finding out where basement is ASAP, and avoid loping near there wherever possible.
If they get distracted in another chase I do my best to get the gens repaired near basement ASAP to minimise the chance of a 3 gen occurring near it.
