People disagree with me so they have mush for brains? Very respectful, great way to make your argument. Maybe some people don't hold the same values as you? A lot of people think pandering is disrespectful and disingenuous and takes away from someones character, but I guess they just have mush for brains right? Since they disagree with you and all.

    Yes. Mush for brains.

Modern psychology/psychiatry proves time and time again that those that obsess over opposing this stuff, thinking about it constantly, are just repressing themselves, and it results in destructive behaviour towards others and themselves.

They need proper help, not obsessing over stuff like this. Otherwise their brains will continue to turn to “mush”, and lead to further harmful behaviour and harmful thinking.

Don’t mind me, just upvoting every positive post in this thread.

usually such Threads turn into negativity in the first few posts..sadly..

Oh I’m waiting for the trolls.

Although I’ve kind of trapped them with my implication that if this is a big deal to them, they’re probably hiding in the closet themselves.

History, and modern psychology/psychology keeps proving that time and time again: the biggest, most vocal homophobes are just repressing it within themselves.

I often play under the name "Hex: Butt Stuff" and the amount of flirting and gay comraderie in the pre game lobby is fantastic XD

I regularly see player names starting with Hex: and then some sort of funny innuendo.

They’re usually very funny. They’re also usually very good players. Some names though are borderline distasteful.

Actually that’s a very fair point

Still think clown’s should be 60 since freddy’s is too

Clown has way more control over the frequency he can repeatedly inflict Blindness though.

Not gonna say I wouldn’t like it to be longer for Kerosene Can, but I can see how potentially problematic it could be against solos.

As someone who is gay I would love representation in this game. It doesn't seem to be a detriment to the game. But what I'm concerned about is it being forced and it being the only redeemable thing about the character. They shouldn't just make the character LGBTQIA just because. It should be woven in the story to make them a even better character and their lore.

Doing that shows great writing and better represents the community.

All In all they should do it for the story just as much as representation. As it makes them actual complex characters and not one dimensional expendable characters.

I agree that it should be something that’s just casually put into the rest of their lore. The trick is to not make it seem flippant either.

  • @Elena said:

    I can understand both sides.

Yes, representation is extremely important and the media is the best place to show it.

However, you could argue that dbd is a game all about working cooperatively and trying to survive a merciless killer, and therefore, representation isn't a top priority.

Or... to work cooperatively, differences need to be put aside.

The attitude should be “I know, and it doesn’t matter. We have a goal to work towards.”

Pew pew pew (rainbows flood out of television set)

  • You are obviously completely ignorant to the absolute HUGE part of this games player base being LGBTIQ+.

Geez it’s one of the most popularly streamed games by Drag Queens. Some of these queens make their name playing DBD.

Anyway, here’s a tip. If you genuinely find it disgusting, DON’T obsess yourself by thinking about it.

Because as history proves time and time again, those that obsess over it proclaiming they’re disgusting by it are usually just repressing themselves and hiding in the closet.

(I.e. the worlds biggest homophobes are just hiding that they’re LGBTIQ+ themselves).

For someone who's been playing this game since it went free back on PS Plus in August of 2018, there's been some good and a lot of bad moments for me on this game. I've dealt with toxic people, toxic streamers, an onbarage of bugs, autoaim cucking you constantly, and the list goes on. At this point I just wonder when is enough truly gonna be enough for me.. I felt like before I discovered Dead By Daylight I was living my best life playing loads of games I loved, but since then I've induced myself to the ever so god awful grind on this game and dealt with tons of backlash from the community. This past week whenever I get on and play a few matches I can already tell that I don't even want to play, because the issues the game is present with and will continue to be present with forever. The last two chapters have been an entire mess.. Binding of Kin or the Binding of Bugs was the worst chapter to have ever be released on this game, and the devs knew it as well. BHVR wanted you to buy a killer that wasn't even fully polished, the new killer was bugged severely, the new perks didn't even work like they were suppose to, and the chapter was filled with tons of bugs that the community found if I remember it was over a 100. Then we have the mid chapter... A new UI that looked incredibly terrible, hitboxes were broken all over the place, the emblem system was completely broken to no surprise, and we have fat shaming bugs that made it into the game because nobody cares about testing things. They fixed this stuff which is nice, but c'mon BHVR why must you rush all this stuff out after PTB!? You delayed the mid chapter with literally no changes, but couldn't do it to the Binding of Bugs chapter!? Whatever this upcoming chapter plans to be, a lot of people are giving you guys one last chance. Because it's truly sickening that we the people who got you to where you are, have to play a game that's still in the Beta version honestly. Certain known Dead By Daylight steamers are starting to play other things, and sadly the Fog Whispers have to be forced to play this game because of their partnership. I loved the Clown changes although I wish you guys did something to his map mobility, but I'm not letting you off the hook for everything else you've done since the Halloween Event which I don't even need to talk about how bad that was. All we want is a game that everyone can enjoy, and not have to get frustrated at thanks to greedy and lazy decisions. If this next chapter fails miserably, I think I'll be uninstalling the game for good and just be done with it permanently and just be happy. Because honestly everyone is happy when we don't play DBD. Rant over...

I think it’s disrespectful to imply “life was better before DBD”, like it’s some poisonous drug addiction.

If you’re still playing, then you obviously love enough the content here despite some of the bad stuff.

I genuinely love this game. I’ll probably be playing right up until BHVR give up on it and turn the servers off.

Everyone seems to be so absolutely convinced that this teased character is a survivor. There is no proof of that at all. None. In fact theres maybe even proof to the opposite; the "crazy crazy scream" hidden within the song? The "magnum opus" could very well be the killers magnum opus in that the song theyve written / created has lethal effects to any audience and they are building up to have this huge grand performance that ultimately takes out a huge amount of fans all at once, including the killer themselves, sending them to the realm of the entity.

There isn’t proof, but she’s too pretty looking. All the killers have something grotesque about them. This character in the teaser is too well dressed, and clean.

I really wished they’d buff up the duration of some of them. Twins have 15 seconds!

I think the reason their blindness add ons is so short in duration is because of the frequency Victor can be sent out, his aura can’t be read anyway, AND the devs were all too aware of Victors slugging potential right from the get go, and didn’t want to make a snowball like that possible without Third Seal.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

It's a lot of extra work. It's like double blinking to hit a survivor when you can single blink and hit them.

That’s on you to figure out on the fly: the correct strategy to use in the moment. Because that’s what Clown is: a strategic killer.

Just like sometimes it’s NECESSARY for Nurse to blink twice, it’s sometimes necessary for Clown to use 2 bottles, except now he can achieve a more effective result than simply using 2 tonics.

  • @bgbomb said:

So yes i try the new ability for clown.

And i have to say it is so useless.

I am not complaing about it is too weak or it will buff survivor or etc etc.

In fact I don't even have a chance to see how strong or weak it is.

Because of the ######### stupid delay time for the gas to expand.

Do not say that you can't use it to speed up in chase or use it to "tactical guidance" or something else to gain advantage, you can't even speed up survivor even you throw right on their face.

This new ability is just so pointless and useless.

    PLEASE

REMOVE THE DELAY TIME FOR GAS TO EXPAND.

Don’t throw it at your feet!!!

    God!!!

Throw it WAY ahead of you when you spot a survivor you intend to chase. It will be active by the time you pass through.

Also, you CAN throw it at your feet at loops, then USE the 2.5 second delay to set up a tonic at a DIFFERENT part of the loop, then run through the Antidote and force the survivor through the Tonic.

  • @Yords said:

My god they are strong as hell lol. They were also very fun to use and just strong, it lasts very long.

I am honestly scared of using addons on a killer like clown and Plague because I am afraid I will get too used to them.

But anyway, they are definitely one of his strongest addons like the cigar box.

I have yet to try a few of his other addons though.

The gloves that change the arc of his gloves though just make the arc more straight in case anyone is wondering, I myself don't think it is that great and I don't like it.

Yeah. They’re pretty good. I’m pretty sure Solvent Jug adds 1 second, and Garish Make Up Kit adds 2 seconds, so stacking them brings Invigorated to a total 8 second duration.

Its insanely strong when following that up with Intoxicating a survivor.

  • I mostly do slugging/anti heal builds built around Coulrophobia and Mangled. Usually Coulrophobia, Sloppy or Sulphuric Acid Vial, Distressing, and either Forced Penance or Deathbound.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The fact that people are making videos to explain how good he is now reminds me of early Legion.

When you need to make video explanations of why something doesn’t suck it’s usually a bad sign.

The Doctor changed for example were immediate and apparent and needed no explanation.

No. That’s not true. I still see Docs that constantly waste Static Blast in areas that have no survivors, and just spamming Shock willy nilly, often missing.

So there are still tonnes of players that just don’t get Doc. They get creamed because they don’t know how to use Madness as a time wasting tool, or how to properly use Shock as an anti loop.

The truth is that Clown has always been a little obscure. The correct way to use Tonics is the least intuitive way to most that pick him up. The Antidote isn’t any different. It’s either going to take awhile for some to wrap their head around it’s optimal, devastating use, or they just won’t get it.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

If survivors ever benifit from the sonic tonic and don't get hit in the proccess then you are using them wrong.

He didn't jump from the bottom to the top like freddy did but he certainly isn't thrash tier anymore.

What he is is very hard to play. All your pressure needs to come from chase power and 1 misplaced bottle can mean losing a chase and with that all your pressure. Really not beginner friendly

Exactly. His skill cap is quite high now.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

I guess I was expecting too much from BHVR. That he would be turned into a viable Killer. Nope. Let's give him a bottle that makes him a little faster, but can also benefit survivors.

    Lol, ok...

I’ll just keep “accidentally” 4k’ing with my trash killer.

The Antidote is fantastic. Used properly the survivors should never ever get opportunities to use it themselves.

It seriously makes chases so damn easy when I Invigorate myself followed quickly with Intoxicating a survivor.

  • @Pirate said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/230157/magnum-opus-evil-within-2

If you found it your self: WOW! Very good eye!

But I have a problem with him as a killer because: his power in Evil Within 2 was based on the dream world they were in, he is not a supernatural beeing like Freddy he is just a dude. So if you take his power from the "real world" then he would be a normal and regular size human being. His power could be what I once suggested: a killer that can blind a survivor that is looking at him (blinding with his flash camera).

Except it’s up to the entity what powers, and abilities a killer has.

  • They changed it because of how unfair/unbalanced it was to simply drop a pallet early against a Blight using a Lethal Rush.

Before the change it would mean Blight had to wait for the slam cool down to end before being able to break the pallet. This was especially bad if using Slam Duration add ons.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

Talking about the fence itself NOT the vault.

    Yes.

    I can’t believe this is a question.

Take a kitchen knife, go outside, and find a waist high fence to test this out yourself 🥴

  • First things first. It’s absolutely normal and expected that at least 1 or 2 gens pop very early in the match. The game is intentionally designed in this way, because the survivors are experiencing the least amount of pressure at this point.

If survivors experienced intense pressure right from the get go. I.E. getting any gens done at the beginning was way too difficult, then no one would play survivor.

So take a deep breath. When 1,2,3 gens pop early, you’re not doing anything wrong as killer. Expecting anything different is just going to always lead to frustration.

Now... when you do start to find survivors, here are the things you always need to be keeping in mind from that point forward: “how do I keep chases as short as possible?”, “how are survivors going to run these loops for their fast vaults, pallet stuns, and putting distance between us? How do I force them to run in a way that is advantageous to me?”, and “how do I keep survivors out of a chase off of gens as often as possible?”

It takes a lot of time to master the above concepts. It’s starts with being more focused on learning how to use one killer exclusively for a while to really think about how to better use the power in a more deliberate and intelligent way. Perhaps think about the aspects of survivor gameplay you struggle against the most and puck a best able to deal with that. It’s why I stick with Clown. I HATE long chases or endless looping. It also pays to experiment with perks you wouldn’t normally use, and think deliberately on how to get the most out of them. It genuinely teaches better skills testing/experimenting with a range of different perks.

Also, it’s important to expect that never at any point does any body get so good at killer that they’ll never lose again. Survivors are going to win sometimes. That’s fair.

    Hope I’ve been helpful.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

I feel like part of it is "What am I supposed to do against a stealth killer that can see my aura?" I guess he is slower but it's still crazy on the survivor side if you face him on the wrong map (all inside maps except maybe Midwich)

    This.

Plus many survivors aren’t patient enough to wait for the match results to read a killers load out and learn about the perks and add on used.

In a side note, Myers, Pig, and Wraith are one of the reasons i’ll regularly keep Sole Survivor in my rotation. Sure it’s crap that one survivor needs to be dead for just 1 token, but damn is it a life saver when against these killers, because as rare as it is, going against these killers using their aura reading add ons SUCKS. They frustrate me so much. It’s very VERY satisfying being fortunate enough to have Sole Survivor on and thinking “yeah, take that, you can’t see me any more!!!”

  • @venom12784 said:

It takes so much time to get to tier 3 with that build. You should have 3 gens done by that time.

Nope. Seriously I went against this the other day.

A Myers was running Infinite T3 with the green add on that increases the speed of charge rate. He found 3 survivors paired up on the same gen right from the start, because from my gen I first hear the T2 notification, then within seconds we were all exposed.

The match was pretty much pointless at that point with 5 gens still needing to be repaired.

That green add on very heavily counter balances his Infinite Tier 3 add on.

Also if you think it cant happen because of the thing Scott said, they could have did the licensing agreement a year ago, and we all know how Scott likes to troll :/ We will see what happens in the teaser ;)

Not necessarily. Other Plausible guesses have been licenses of either The Ring or Poltergeist.

Because why not? There isn't really any reason not to.

It sucks not being allowed to get blood points from it much if at all just because of what killer someone is playing. It isn't like every other perk affected by it where it has direct gameplay relations.

You literally just are not allowed to get as many points just because someone picked Pyramid head; which also tends to make some folks more hostile than they would towards killer.

Imagine if BBQ didn't give you any bonus bloodpoints anytime you hooked a Claudette, Dwight, Meg, or Jake.

You would still run the perk, still get BP, but it would just be such an unnecessary reason not to get BP stacks from it.

Which is false, because the player can still attempt body blocking, flashlight saves, or pallet saves.

And let’s not pretend that PH never hook.

It really should work on safe cage rescues I mean it isn't DS or something it wouldn't change balance in any way shape or form.

    Why though?

There are now a few ways to gain tokens.

  • I don’t like this idea.

If survivors want to be stupid and use Self Care without a med kit (for the efficiency bonus), then they absolutely should be penalised with the longer healing speed.

That’s very true and that’s why I love off the record for that reason

Why does everyone keep saying that?

I like Off The Record, but it doesn’t affect scratch marks or blood.

  • Meh... I don’t find too many SWF a complete nightmare. I get them. But most are manageable.

Why? Slugging. A lot of it. I tend to run Coulrophobia with Mangled a lot. It really makes it difficult to assist each other immediately after a down. They tend to have to wait until their teammate has recovered as much as possible before assisting, which is a lot of time on the ground, and a lot of time not spent on a generator. And even when they do wait till maximum recovery, if a catch sight of an attempted revive, Coulrophobia and Mangled usually results in free hits on the healer because of the extra seconds it takes to revive their teammate.

Its honestly my personal fave anti SWF strategy. It also has the benefit of getting survivors wasting their unbreakable really early in the match.

Yeah a killer gloating about a small victory over a few swf trolls on a dbd board is probably as dangerous as somebody wearing a red hat at an antifa rally

It’s also gloating about griefing without any proof that the survivors were griefing to begin with.

All I was saying is that the OP should be careful.

lightweight Is okay but I’d prefer quick and quiet or dance with me for stealthiness

It’s more for about if needing to run from the hook after being saved.

Provided the killer isn’t face camping, already not leaving any blood is a huge boon when leaving the hook. So if the killer is immediately returning to the hook, and it’s necessary to run, at least there’s the possibility Lightweight throws them off at least a little bit.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1967730#Comment_1967730

True might try it later but no mither is pretty painful at times

Just be extra cautious. Not useless. Still do objectives. Just be more prepared to slink away at a moments notice. Fixated is also interchangeable with Lightweight, which was what I used before the change to Fixated

  • @Mr_K said:

From my observations after being hooked.

The other survivor, crouched behind an object, sits there oblivious to the approaching killer headed directly towards them. Takes off running after being hit.

That isn’t always the case though.

I can think I’m well positioned by a gen to block my aura, but the killer still sees me and comes for me.

Or I try to reach a locker but there are none I can reach in time.

It’s just not nice feeling like I’m being punished for somebody else losing a chase and being hooked.

I get that BBQ discouraging camping is healthy, but I wish it gave an entirely different reason to motivate killers away from the hook, like maybe Haste while more than 32m from a hooked survivor until unhooked, rather than aura reading.

  • The only thing that can do that is Technician.

Even without stacks of Lullaby, the additional 6% regression is active from the start.

If Overcharge were buffed to 8%, and Lullaby were being used as well, every failed Overcharge would regress a gen by 24%. It would basically almost overshadow Pop, if the hex spawned in a favourable spot.
