The only time i can think of where that would be the case is the ptb for a new killer for the first few hours since that would be the most popular thing at the time.

    That’s true.

But other than that, arguing that I’m “silly” for saying streaming survivor gameplay isn’t popular, thus watching survivor gameplay isn’t popular just makes Django look foolish.

I'm wondering what would be the best perk/add-on build for the dockta.

At the moment, I have BBQ, Blood echo, stbfl, thantaphobia, and idk for the 4th one. Addons are typically distressing or restraint and high electrode thing.

I personally love M&A with Calm: Carters Notes + Class 2. It confuses the HECK out of most survivors, and leads to a lot of easy hits, especially on indoor maps. Add in Dark Devotion, and this build is golden.

I also love Overcharge plus Oppression on Doc too.

Also Distressing, Coulrophobia, Unnerving Presence, and Sloppy is an incredibly effective slugging build/anti heal build on Doc.

You know you say a lot of really silly stuff and its taken me this long to realize you're just "clowning around" right lol

You're the one that started the "X isn't bad you just need a big brain" meme right?

By all means, go on Twitch at any given time and prove to me that most of the DBD streams are of players NOT playing as survivor.

  • @Willbebossin said:

I know originally i saw he thought he was strong but his opinions change a lot. Does anyone who watch his streams know?

    Uhhh...

Why don’t you just ask him?

Surely you can try to reach him through one of his socials.

  • I agree it’s not hard mode for some. I run it regularly and still somehow manage to out stealth other survivors

    Will you?

I think the devs mistake people liking the feeling of winning with this game being competitively viable. Besides the bullshit balancing and glitches (the latency isn't even in the top 5 issues) survivor is just boring to watch because 60% of it is waiting. Doing gens, waiting on the hook, healing, and of course doing gens. Theres a reason that most youtubers and streamers cut up survivor gameplay and while leaving killer games in full. Obviously a huge factor in the games success is because of the viewership on twitch and youtube. But of those big creators almost every single one is a killer main and has a personality. The reason having a personality is a damning detailing is because look at cod, lol, siege, overwatch, these people are basically all the same. But it doesn't matter because they're professionals at the game they aren't there to entertain with their words and people will still watch. That's not possible with DBD there are no big streamers who are JUST good at the game.

They just can't seem to get it through their thick skull that their slasher game should be fun and cater to slasher fans instead of the fan cam and anime cringe lords. They can't even make the game work in their vision because survivor is too mechanically simple to be worth watching and the aforementioned cringe lords dont want it to get any harder. They are basically working towards the illusion of competitiveness which works when its just 4 people in 4 different rooms all feeling good about themselves for BMing a killer but as their combined 2 viewers show it doesn't make for good entertainment

DBD is one the most popular games streamed. And the majority of those streamers play mostly survivor. If survivor were that boring, so many wouldn’t tune in to watch these streams.

  • @Tsulan said:

It's going to be hilarious! Seeing all gens repaired by the second hook sure will be a show.

    Can't wait for it.

There’s an upside to that occurring.

No doubt many in the dev team will watch out of curiosity. If they can see that against highly coordinated survivors killers simply do not stand any semblance of a chance, maybe some more balancing will occur.

  • @SilentPill said:

Seriously, has anyone noticed this? I never had a problem with slugs crawling huge distances before but now they are all leaping across the floor like detective tapp.

I am losing slugs like crazy because they move so much faster. I will down two survivors within feet of each other, hook one within seconds, and the second survivor is long gone.

This bug has been around a while. There’s a high chance if you’re attempting to crawl the moment you are downed, you’ll crawl at Tenacity speed.

Is this even necessary? I get it, lots of people say pretty outlandish things, but out of other better things to work on BHVR chooses to implement a system that will protect people's feelings. Again, there is nothing wrong with the chat filter. But why don't they instead focus their resources on things that are far more important, like the desync problem, bug fixes, or tweaking killer powers and addons?

Besides, it is not going to help all that much with toxicity. We can already turn off the chat, I don't think a chat filter is necessary.

It makes me sad how anyone thinks a chat filter is unnecessary.

And I really don’t have the energy to explain why it’s important.

  • Hag.

Dont get me started on how much I despise her. I’ll rant forever otherwise.

  • Clown

    Doc

Once upon a time I’d have said Freddy, but I really really miss playing as old Freddy. I’m bored of reworked Freddy.

So my other 3 are Demo, Plague, Ghostface, but I really only play these occasionally really.

I’m almost exclusively Clown and Doc because I just can’t stand endless looping. Drives me mental.

  • @Marigoria said:

And you see someone on last hook being chased, take the aggro!

I know this has always been a thing, but now when you can see how many times your team mates have been hooked, why are you hiding in a corner, when you werent hooked yet, and someone is being chased and they're on their last hook?

Hook counter for survivor is the same as kindred, it is supposed to help you, but a lot of times it will not, and will make it even more frustrating, because now there is literally no excuse to not be a bit altruistic.

That’s not always a hard and fast rule though.

I’m clever at avoiding detection without being useless: doing gens, saves, heals, hex cleansing. I WILL take aggro for teammates that have been also pulling their weight doing gens.

If however before I even manage to finish the first repair the others are going down like flies, giving the killer multiple hooks at 5 gens because they’re too focused on attempting poor flashlights saves, and poor judgement when it comes to body blocking. Then no, I’m taking the aggro for any of them on death hook when it’s still at 5 gens. Bet your ass I’m hiding and waiting out hatch.

I can't even enjoy the event because poeple die on first hook and I can't get the bp for putting them on different hooks

If there weren’t so many Freddy’s running Ruin, Tinkerer, BBQ, Thana, Swing Chains, and Jump Rope, maybe we wouldn’t see so many suicides.

Like seriously, the moment I see its Freddy with this build it’s clear the match is already won by Freddy. It’s totally pointless persisting.

Have you... ever played any of the first 3 Resident Evil?

I guess not because you seem to think that RE7 has... well, anything in common with thos games outside of "hooo spooky".

And sure, RE5 and 6 where pretty garbage, but that's Capcom for yah, they couldn't recognize a good thing even if it slapped them in the face.

The only reason RE7 was a such a succes was because of the brand it wrapped itself in and because everyone was starving for anything not as dreadful as RE6 for the Resident Evil series. Have that game had any other name, it would have been just another "cool horror game" like Outlast, but nothing more.

And yeah... if you think that RE8 has more buzz than any RE ever, you've clearly not been around when RE3 was on its way.

“Have you... ever played any of the first 3 Resident Evil?”

Yes, extensively. Multiple play throughs. I’ve been around a few decades thanks, and i’ve followed the franchise very closely.

  • @_HN_ said:

Yes, and a pretty obvious one.

First of all, as I said, anyone that has really played the game (till this end) could tell you that ... yeah, it was kinda lie.

The game sold itself on some flashy into, but lost all steam very, VERY fast.

Secondly, the game was a pretty bad attempt at using a known name to sell a game that has basically nothing to do with said name, it was disingenius at best.

And last but not least, the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake have proven that the real Resident Evil formula still worked, and showed everyone that this is what the series could and should have evolved into, but sadly it was too late and Capcom already signed on a sequel to RE7 following its formula. They are now stucked in a very awkard position where they have provided some excelent update on the real RE formula that were unanimously loved by everyone, but are already on board of a speeding train that goes in a totally different direction.

So yeah, RE7 was a mistake, they should have called it something else and not do the sadly too common move of cheaply slapping a brand name on something to make it sell more.

It wasn’t disingenuous at all. Capcom reinvented RE with the seventh instalment as dramatically as the fourth was a departure from the games previous to that one. It was becoming too action focused in 5 & 6, losing a lot of the fear, dread, and most importantly, the claustrophobia. 7 brought RE back to those roots. In fact many argue, myself included, that RE7 has more in common with RE1 than any other RE game having anything in common with RE1.

It seems the formula they used in RE7 resonated well around the globe because RE8 is going to be an even FURTHER departure still from RE games before 7. RE8 has more buzz around it right now than any other RE game ever.

Weird cause every time I do the combo it just makes killers panic a bit more.

Cause if that was the case wouldn't Object of Obsession give you a free 8 meters of seeing the killer without the killer seeing you back?

Edit: Ugh that sucks, I guess Boil Over is yet again useless.

Yes it does extend OoO by 8 metres.

Open Handed buffs survivor aura reading distances. Nothing else.

  • @_HN_ said:

RE7 was a mistake, a misguided game that burst its load on trying to rippof the texas chainsaw masacre at the start of the game, and then couldn't find be bothered to create a good gameplay to flesh out the game.

With the R2R and R3R being as good (and iconic) as they were, I sure hope this is where the inevitable RE dlc will go.

Give me Racoon city police station map, give me Clair, Leon, Jil of Chriss, give me the Nemesis, MrX or just a Licker, THOS are the iconic names of the Resident Evil series, not the Bakers unless we are talking about Joe Baker, which is objectively the best character of that whole game, gib a Bill skin of him pls.

A game that made Capcom a fortune was a mistake?!

It's dumb you have to run kindred in solo queue a lot of the time, you shouldn't have to waste a perk slot on that kinda thing- but it helps.

I wish they would add what scott suggested, with a communication system via pre made selectable messages, that would help a lot.

I am surprised they were at least doing gens, that's more than I ever get haha.

Not that Kindred helps sometimes. If anything it just makes me angrier that no one is rescuing me.

The very fact that people aren't saying anything about Autodidact kinda says something.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1953493#Comment_1953493

Anyway there is a lot of people loving that perk, it's very situational but god damn, when you have chases with it, trust me, you feel it helped you. I mean, the perk is not meta, but it's not bad. And for that I don't want to change it immediately, there are perks wayyyy worse and less useful than Hope.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1953497#Comment_1953497

Well, yes, you'll just be out fast of the game, but sure it's a god move if the killer is chasing a dead on hook survivor. And... Well, you got a point with that, but there are better perks to help chased survivors which won't make you super brittle, see what I mean ? The disadvantages brought to always be injured are far heavier than the advantages brought from the perk.

Again though, the other point of No Mither is hard mode. Once upon a time survivors complained how easy the game was. Now they have an option to increase difficulty.

  • @DoomedMind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1953273#Comment_1953273

If you want to play in hard mode, just don't heal yourself. No Mither brings nothing interesting and useful. The build you would bring with No Mither would be effective if you aren't heal or during the second part of a chase when you got hit (plus you can bring a perk instead of No Mither... (Iron Will)).

It would be so much more interesting if just the perk grants 100% points in the boldness category, you see how bad I see this perk, and 95% of the DbD community thinks it. It's a almost a trolling perk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1953446#Comment_1953446

It's useful as a survivor who wants chase interactions, and buy a huge amount of time for the others. "Being a Survivor" like sitting on a gen, and opening gate is boring, I don't think the majority of the survivors play that role for that... (And I don't play to do gen or get a fast escape)

It’s just a misunderstood perk. For example. It can be used to derail a killers slugging momentum by forcing them to pick YOU up. Take a hit for somebody and the killer can’t ignore you unless they don’t care about you reviving yourself.

  • That’s the point. If a Kindred user or OoO user suddenly sees the killer stand nearby and disappear, they’ll immediately know Insidious is being used. If the survivors are blind, it doesn’t matter how close to the hook a killer tries to use Insidious.

  • I’d also like to add that seemingly few think creatively enough with TTS.

For example. It makes Insidious Camping WAY more effective because they don’t need to worry about Kindred or OoO giving the strategy away once their aura suddenly disappears.

    Scummy? Sure.

    Clever? Yes.

  • @Kamikaze_Rose said:

What do you think are the Top 5 useless perks in DBD? Also, how would you buff them?

My list (in no particular order):

    1. No Mither - we asked for them to change it so that it at least has a benefit, other than the useless "grunts of pain" reduction, but so far they've refused to change it.
    2. Poised - In general, tying perk power to gen completion is a bad idea, unless the perk is powerful enough to justify only being used 5 times per match. 10 seconds of no scratch marks is lackluster at best.
    3. Left Behind - self-explanatory
    4. Monstrous Shrine - another perk that we asked them to change to make more effective. Maybe it works for all hooks? That sounds a little OP, but the perk definitely needs to be changed.
    5. Deerstalker - ???

No Mither is hard mode. The point is to make the match more difficult. There are some benefits, but they require thoughtful builds.

No my character continued to face forward but began running backwards. The more I ran from him the closer to him I got. It was kind of messed up. I guess next time I should run toward him and see if it makes me run away. Maybe it is an add-on.

No. You were up against a hacker. There is nothing in Clowns kit that can reverse survivor controls. He only has an add on that switches the colour of the gas clouds to try and trick survivors

  • Huntress Lullaby: you’re greatly overestimating how many of those survivors exist. I’ve lost count of the amount of red rank survivors that just give up when they can’t find and cleanse HL.

TTS: more powerful as a time waster than is given credit.

Blood Favour: will probably be buffed at some point. I can understand why the devs were cautious when making a pallet blocking perk.

Retribution: hmm, yeah I wish it had a bit more oomph. 30 seconds of aura reading would make it a bigger threat.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Third seal is no joke.

Agreed. It’s actually my favourite Hex perk. Just like Devour Hope, you’ve never seen a SWF suddenly stop doing gens so quickly once their OoO and Rainbow Map user are blind.

It also makes slugging ridiculously powerful on indoor maps.

I refuse to ever play a game like that. Not saying it's "OP" or anything, but it's the most unfun experience I've ever had while playing DBD. No thanks.

In support of you (because everyone is all like jUsT dOn’T hEaL, jUsT dO gEnS) I can see how this build is painful on a small map even against Legion.

Iridescent Button makes it impossible to hide against FF. Impossible. They’re also always going to know which gens everyone else is on after first FF hit. Let me guess? Once everyone was injured and they cranked out a FF hit to activate Killer Instinct, they’d cancel once they found/reached the second target?

Anyway, I can see why you made this post. Anti heal builds are not given the respect they deserve, as evident by many responses here.

This is true. I've had so many people demand to heal me against 3 token Devour Hope, or Tier 3 Myers.

For stealth purposes. Just because both states are one hit down doesn’t mean there’s no point. Leaving a blood trail and groaning is infinitely worse than being exposed yet almost silent.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Sounds like something @TheClownIsKing would run lol

    Bwahahaha

Swap out Nurses Calling for forced penance, and you’re on the money.

I use this on Clown a lot to keep players injured as long as possible for 3 reasons. Slugging puts WAY more pressure on the survivors, Clown ends chases insanely fast on injured survivors, and nec survivors realise how dangerous it is to remain injured they either waste HUGE amounts of time trying to do so, or if it is too difficult to heal or be healed then they’re pressured off of gens much easier.

Coulrophobia is a seriously underrated gem.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I feel bad for you for having to face this killer 5 times in a single day, I'd have already closed it after the second time.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1950894#Comment_1950894

Yeah, but if you try to see victor and try to calculate the distance, it will be higher than expected which is enough to reveal you once. And you also have to crouch before entering the zone like crowman said.

I am already crouching before approaching

  • @Crowman said:

The Killer Instinct happens immediately once you start hearing victor's shrieking. So unless you are crouching before entering his shrieking range you will have Killer Instinct go off for a second.

Which I am. I’m hiding by crouching while I watch Victor zip about. I observe and when he goes idle I’ll start crouch walking. The moment I move Charlotte switches back to Victor, and Victor is coming straight to my location. Which suggests I’m still somehow triggering killer instinct.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Intuition, other aura reading perks, constantly switching back to Victor to check, or, she has that yellow addon which increases the detection range so you're not expecting it.

Those add ons also increase his sound radius for balance purposes, so that survivors can know whether they’re in detection range or not

  • @DownUnder said:

I know, I know another Noed topic...

I would like to start a civil discussion about this perk.

Majority of the DBD community know this perk is really unhealthy for the game for the following reasons:

-it is the only hex perk which lit up at the endgame (but why?..)

-it has a built in old undying with full value

-it has the devour's first hit surprise (no warning like Rancor)

-user gain unlimited exposed status effect until the totem is found

    -user gain 1 stack PWYF

The perk is NOT Overpowered by any means, it's core issue is it rewards the user for bad gameplay. Hex perks should be high RISK high reward perks, but theres next to no risk bringing this perk.

Why? Because the survivors have to cleanse not just one totem but ALL OF THEM (built in undying). There is no difference between cleansing 4 totems out of 5 or not cleasing at all, so this "just do bones" argument is just ridiculous and you know it.

People fear and respect Devour Hope for a good reason, but anyone who uses Noed... well let's just say it's a Badge of Being Bad.

Maybe it's just me, but in red ranks when I go againts a killer who plays like a bot, without any mindgame, any tactics, just follow people like a zombie, I'm certain that person is a noed gamer.

This perk plagues low ranks too, because the players doesn't need to unlock certain killers to use it, it's base kit perk.

So that being sad I just wanted to shed some light on this issue. Devs please consider reworking this god awful perk with the next DS and OoO change, so we can get closer to even more balanced/healthy game.

Guys please share your opinion on this matter, I would like to hear it.

    • it only lights up at endgame because otherwise it defeats the purpose of the perk: being enough of a possible threat that survivors SHOULD be cleansing any dull totems they come across.
    • I have no idea what you mean by it has in built Undying.
    • So?
    • Exactly. Hexes are supposed to be powerful until cleansed.
    • 1 stack PWYF is 5%. Killer Haste status effect is 4%. NOED gives the killer Haste.

And no, the perk does NOT reward bad gameplay. Firstly, the killer is already stacking the odds against themselves by intentionally choosing to play with 3 perks. Of course it’s more likely that the survivors get all 5 gens repaired if the killer doesn’t have access to a fourth perk to help them. Secondly, there are many, MANY killers that can play phenomenally well, and this sometimes STILL doesn’t prevent the survivors from getting all gens repaired.

  • @gatsby said:

Hot Take: In most games the hitboxes are normal. High ping Killers still get weird hits and the new animations amplify that but in 90% of the games there's no difference.

Here's a three minute video with lots of chase on the new patch showing the hitboxes being normal:

    https://youtu.be/aB1Cz96SqWQ

Highlights of the Killer NOT getting hits that would happen if hitboxes were bugged are 0.50, 2:28 and 2:35

I’ve played plenty of survivor since this patch and I’ve not experienced one suspicious hit. I’ve been salty. But nothing suspicious has been occurring with hit registration.

Buffing 4-person slugging just because someone wanted you to pick them up is a terrible idea.

    I think you’re misunderstanding.

I’m not asking for a slugs aura to be removed. I’m asking for the ability for slugs to see team mates auras over an unlimited range to be removed.

I’m not exactly sure how that buffs slugging for the killer when there would no longer be an exploitable mechanic the killer can use.

  • @_HN_ said:

Get off your highhorses jimmy you are about to faceplant.

First of all, I dont know what game you are playing, but NOBODY camps the last slug to catch the last survivor, it's just a VERY bad strategy since at this point everyone knows what the survivor options are : Getting the hatch or Getting the exit (or getting the last gen if it's a 4/5 case). Camping a slug is the best way to make sure that your last survivor will be ready to get out the second that slug dies.

EVERY killer that isn't a total noob at this point will just start to patrol the map to get a drop on that survivor, since EVEN if the slug get back on its feet, YOU HAVE ALREADY WON, unless you are 4/5 with gens at 75%+, thos two last survivors have not a SINGLE chance to win the game.

Your whole lil super spy kid list of actions you take to get that hypothetical (and nonexistant) killer off the slugg dont even sound like ANYTHING anyone would (and could) do in a game, but I guess you have that super special perk that let you run across the map faster than a killer without leaving any marks anywhere, right? Because that's the only way pull off that insane plan.

Do you do the same thing when you need to unhook someone? Do you run at the other side of the map to make noise then teleport back to the hook when the killer in on his way toward the spot you were making noise?

Edit; Also, just so we are clear, your "suggestion" is a very, VERY shortsighted fix to a problem that only exist in your mind. And said fix will have a side effect you have obviously not given enough thought : It will make the solo experience miserable and increase the divide between solos and SWF. By knowing where the other survivors are, you can meet them halfway which is very important, and NEVER a problem outside of your very hypothetical, niche and again NON EXISTANT case where in the 2/4 you get rated out... SOMEHOW, by a slug that you could outrun while crouched.

    It’s not hypothetical at all.

What’s with survivors not wanting killer to be able to do literally anything in this game lol. I’m new and already get flamed and called a camper for defending a hook when all 3 survivors come to rescue, or for killing a survivor when their team is silly enough to unhook them directly in my face without borrowed time or DS. These strange rules killers are pressured into adhering to essentially boil down to “no, you need to let us all escape you’re not supposed to perform your role as a killer.” It’s weird.

My problem isn’t with the killer in this scenario, my problem is with the survivors sometimes using the aura reading in the dying state to rat out other survivors
