It's that way with a few short obstacles. Similar to how killers can hit through windows if the survivor is close enough.

Its the same on some tiles on yamaoka. Always funny to get a hit that way.

Chest high walls have always been able to be attacked over its just there are very few ones thin enough for the killer's attack to actually reach to the other side.
Yup. You can also get hit over the desk that goes around the office on Lery's.

Take a kitchen knife, go outside, and find a waist high fence to test this out yourself 🥴
There are actually a whole lot of objects in the game that killers can swing through, but most of these just never come into play
Doesn't help that objects also have this like extended box beyond their physical actual shape so most people don't even try because you often just hit air and go "thunk"
