I literally never play against the artist she's more rare to find for me than twins.
It's weird because she's not even weak and she's so fun to play imo.
I see a fair few Artists. She's not as omnipresent as Blight, Huntress and Nurse, but I see her far more than I do Demo, Hag or Twins.
One of the reasons is that she's deceptively easy at first - but is actually extraordinarily hard to play. Her addons are also very, very meh - which makes her a bit one note.

Right now?
I'd say...wait a few months.
As things stand, the three problems with the game that make it hard to recommend are:
- The grind
- The community
- The matchmaking
The community...BHVR don't especially interested in fixing, but apparently the former is getting a big fix soonish and the latter will have significant adjustments any day now.
Hold off for now.

Actually shared mmr is a thing, meaning I'd have to loose loads of games as each killer. Not to mention theres no cap so it could tttaakeee over 100 loses just to get to a fun spot.
But all the strict mmr tests did is make survivor easy for XX escapes in a row.
What I'm asking is to leave SBMM how it is and not make it stricter... or I'd just stop playing as theres no fun to be had either side
100 games is absurd. When I start a new killer, I'll have maybe 3 or 4 rough games and if I lose them, I'll have a noticeable difference in opponent quality.

Because it's not fun, this game will never be balanced especially when the current MMR system exists.
Just when you make it too strict is when the fun goes for all roles, I dont want games over in 5mins or to easily escape every game.
Fact is so much needs to change before a strict mmr should even be allowed, even then I dont just wanna verse so fee killers because I'm "good" yano?
I'm not sure what you're saying, to be honest.
If MMR is working correctly, a lot of these issues fix themselves. Each killer you own has their own MMR, so if you're not great with one killer you'll face similarly not great survivors, and if you're amazing with one killer you'll face amazing survivors on that killer.
Less strict MMR creates a wider range of players - which is awesome for veterans, as they can do what the hell they want and still win. But it sucks for everyone else.
Those '100 wins with no addons' streaks were fun, but came at the expense of a lot of less experienced players getting steamrolled.

@EntitySpawn said:
Doesn't matter if you want balance, highlight issues with either role it always end up being the same "killer main" "you just want easy games as killer" and its honestly kinds pathetic.
Just because I'm good at the game doesnt mean I dont deserve fun. And when I'm highlighting issues as a survivor you cant ignore them and focus on the killer part.
Why is everyone so against the game being fun for the weaker killers even at a higher mmr... all it ever seems to come to is survivor fun and power.
Stomping on low tier killers just because of strict mmr isnt fair for them, maybe I was born different. I will always encourage fun for everyone, encourage hooks and punish the unfun play styles.
Yes. You made a thread asking for less strict MMR controls...because somehow that would make the matches more balanced. Other people came in to point out that this was bass ackwards. Including killer mains like myself.
Regarding the 'weaker killers/MMR' thing, if the system is working correctly those weaker killers will end up at a lower MMR, facing weaker survivors. Now that's not ideal, as it means high MMR play will be wall to wall Nurse, Blight and Huntress - but high MMR in most games tends to have a pretty ossified meta, as the best players will generally bring the best stuff. You can't fix this by making MMR looser - you have to either buff the weaker killers (better) or nerf the strongest killers (worse).
If you're stomping killers, it's not because MMR is strict - each killer on your roster has their own MMR - it's because the matchmaking system pooped itself.

Guess you ignored the whole survivor section... it's not about having easy games it's about having ones that are fun and possible as any killer... survivor is lame at high mmr, especially when strict... to easy.

@FrostyEyesSusie said:

Yes, easy games as a survivor is not fun at all. You can't possibly be scared of a killer who's essentially a non-threat.
That's probably why bming is so common among survivors, the role is so easy that the only way to extract fun from it is making the other guy miserable.
Thing is - if you want 'balance', then shouldn't you want stricter MMR controls? As in - facing and being matched with people closer to your skill?
I know that's what I want. It's almost as frustrating to face a potato team as it is to face a SWF nightmare squad.
I'm just not seeing how you reckon a less 'strict' MMR matchmaker will lead to more fair games. Shouldn't it be the exact opposite?

Title.
The more strict it gets the harder and harder it is to have any form of fun or enjoyment especially as killer. By no means do I want 0mmr (which would be better than strict mmr imo) but having strict mmr does nothing but make the game boring.
Why boring and unfun for survivor? Well survivor you see so limited amount of killers, blight, nurse, camping bubba. Sure some others may pop up once a blue moon but you just stomp them, the games over before it even starts. Games where a killer gets few hooks isnt fun.
Why boring and unfun for killer? Well if you arent playing a strong killer you'll have a horrible time, it's not even fun as blight or nurse it's still a sweat feast but tod forbid you want to play a weaker killer (the more fun ones imo) you'll get a very stressful and unfun game, not even mentioning broken maps for them or even meta perks.
Games are suppose to be fun, sure they dont need to be a 4E or 4K but they're meant to be fun. I get you want to make new players happy but what about us oldies? The ones who have supported your game over all these years?
I seriously will leave if MMR becomes strict, neither side is fun. I dont wanna destroy killers and I certainly dont wanna get destroyed as a killer...
The idea is to have fun and varied matches... that gets taken away with high mmr even more so strict high mmr.
I'm confused.
So...you want to face easier survivors because that's more 'fun' for you?
Thing is - is that fun for them?

I apologize in advance for weird wording, I got 3 hours of sleep last night and I might be wording things strange. Can clarify if needed.
I heavily, heavily disagree. Let me just preface as I kind of don't care enough about going against exhaustion perks - some of them are just frustrating to go against but in general I just don't care, but I also am just anti-exhaustion in general as wouldn't care if exhaustion perks just all got removed.
That being said, both of these perks can and are game changing when used properly. Baby meg who just has sprint burst that just runs everywhere and can't manage exhaustion isn't an issue, dead harding when a survivor misaims and dead hards into the tree or window and can't vault in time doesn't matter. Dead hard is used for distance when injured, get's an extra loop. Sprint burst either a) prevents a chase or b) extends a chase further. I'd argue between preventing the chase and extending the chase makes it a lot stronger than a dead hard for distance.
Let's say I'm working on a gen and I see a pig wander my way in the distance sneakily. Preventing this chase is very strong - pig borderline has no chase power, can't catch up to me easily and now has wasted time going to the gen and now has to take longer to find a survivor. Alternative scenario, I take the chase - I'm exhausted from running to my gen, and I know how to 99 my sprint burst. I get it 99'ed during the chase and I'm at a loop and the pig is about to bloodlust me and get a hit. I stop for half a second to drop the pallet and then speed off uninjured, pig has wasted half a chase and didn't even get an injured state. I get survivors who do the latter quite often. It's truly not tough to effectively 99 your sprint burst, vigil makes it easier.
The fact that you can deny an injure state like that in the first place is strong. Like, really strong, especially against m1 killers with no mobility or ranged attacks. Try this with four survivors. I'd truly really rather go against survivors with four dead hards for distance than have a chase completely be for nothing and not even get an injured state. The other day I was playing ghostface for a daily against a 4x sb squad that also had vigil in the group, and at the end game they all had hope (they was zooming lol). I consider myself a pretty good killer in general (I mained two different m1 killers for a while before moving to billy/huntress full time and I think that's really helped me in the long run) and truly don't get tilted often/nothing in this game truly makes me upset, but that match just felt bad - I ended up with a 2k, but it still just felt bad, and I normally like a challenge. It's nearly undeniable that the people who are complaining about dh will hate sb even more.
I have mostly been seeing 4 stacked slowdowns (pain res + dms) and maybe a sprinkle of bbq here and there for specific killers but I just find 4 stacked slowdowns stale and boring to go against. I'll admit at least it's just not ruin/undying/pop/tinkerer anymore, which is mostly what I saw for most of last year. The killer I see the most variety on are actually nurses - I get a lot of startstruck and agi nurses which I enjoy going against. I played 4 survivor games tonight to do some tome challenges and got (I'm anal and log what I go against and perks):
4x corrupt
3x tinkerer
2x dms
2x pop
2x jolt
2x pain res
1x bbq
I understand, but I still think you are underrating DH. I'm not saying that SB isn't good, but I am saying that DH has more of an impact.
Regarding killer meta...eh.
The Jolt is surprising. I don't see that much outside of Myers and Ghostface.
I've been seeing less Corrupt as of late, probably because I'm finding more and more groups who'll just get into lockers or something and wait it out - essentially negating the perk and prolonging the game.
I haven't been making notes, but I see a lot of:
Corrupt and Tinkerer (Corrupt is essential on any killer with setup, Tink is just a good 4th perk on basically anyone). Yes, you'll see these a lot.
Where I'm seeing the most variety is slowdown (mandatory for killers, has been for ages). I see the occasional Ruin+Undying, but I'm also seeing:
PR+DMS (also sort of my own meta right now, DMS is a game changer on any killer with disruption capability).
CoB+Pop (sometimes with Oppression, which is an interesting pick).
Ruin+Pop
PR+Surge/Jolt (another one I like)
Plaything+Penti (more people need to try this, it's so good on Plague and Demo)
I'll also see:
STBFL
Agi
Starstruck (yes, usually on Nurses)
IAE
Floods of Rage
Lethal
Sloppy
MYC
DH+Undying+Thrill
TT
It generally goes (Regression+Regression/Info+Info+Utility/Offense).

I think it’s due to the cube. Survivors are always trying to get it and you are always guaranteed a chase through our the match, creating artificial chases because you are teleporting to the cube also In turn creating a consistent pressure through out the match. And also free slowdown since survivors have a 2nd objective.
Close.
You can watch Otz's streak - he really struggled. Good survivors have no issue with the cube, and will put you into positions where your teleport drops you into a hole or behind a wall.

SB is a better perk in that it's well designed, has decision making and counterplay attached.
I'd never describe it as better than DH, unless you're facing an instadown killer.
SB gives you a nice boost, but you need to maintain it - with the tradeoff being that you can't run. I'm totally fine with SB as is.

I assume they brought eyrie just so they could keep booning the upstairs totem, too? Yeah there's not much you can do against that.
Initially, but they eventually moved to the area by shack - as there are only 1-2 hooks in this region that can be reached if you go down in the corner, and it's a trek either way.

- Why? This sounds like a recipe for the return of infinites.
- Sure. I don't mind this at all.
- It's not the amount (aside from The Game), it's how safe some of them are. Eyrie, Badham - I'm looking at you.
- Eh...gen times are mostly okay. The issue is more map design and how ridiculously safe some are.

- Honestly, totems just need their spawns totally changed.

I'd add
- Make the BP aspect of BBQ and WGLF baseline.
- Reduce the effectiveness of certain top tier medkits.
- Increase hook density on Eyrie, Swamp, RPD and Badham.
- Make Deerstalker and Unbreakable baseline.
- Apply a small nerf to Nurse and Blight addons.
- Apply a substantial buff to Myers, Sadako, Pig, Clown, Wraith and Trapper.
- Increase the brightness of Autohaven maps.
- Apply a stacking, incremental and proportional MMR inflation to teams queueing as an SWF.

Sorry for another thread in such a short span, but I just wanted to ask since I had a match like that just now.
It depends what you mean by a sabo squad.
1-2 people running sabos? Wait for them to approach, drop and attack the person saboing. At worst, you'll come out even generally. It can be annoying, but it's not too bad.
A full team built around using sabos and other complimentary perks to basically take a game hostage and stall things out to try and make you DC? Yeah, those are annoying and on some killers, there really isn't much you can do unless you can finagle someone into basement.
@dspaceman20 said:

Fortunately the last time I went against one I had STBFL so it was really easy to deal with them since they couldn't sabo before I could hit them again.
But yeah, normally I just start slugging if I feel like I have to.
I had a game a few months ago that still haunts me. Premade from Russia, all of them TTVs. They came with DH, Sabo, Exponential, Breakout, Unbreakable, an Eyrie offering and multiple further hook offerings plus a bunch of other stuff and simply refused to do the last gen - instead basically being unhookable and damned near impossible to slug. The game lasted forever, and eventually I just went AFK.
I was on Wraith, and I had STBFL. It didn't matter, because I simply couldn't get people to hooks or keep them slugged.

That's not even the point, the fact is everyone, including me, are sick of seeing the same 4 perks over and over on both sides. The meta for survivor hasn't shifted in years until COH, and the second it even slightly changes there are calls to nerf it - which is just fact. Or any remotely strong survivor perk for that matter. Remember when lucky break and reworked built to last was gonna kill the game? That doesn't mean perks can't be busted or need to be changed.
Oof. Okay...
- SB is absolutely not stronger than DH, a few extreme exceptions excepted (Myers would be one). DH, when used properly amounts to an extra health state, while SB actually has some counterplay and decision making. DH is 'win button go brrrr'. The simple fact that I have to play anticipating DH at all times says a lot about the perk.
- I'm not sure which 4 killer perks you are seeing every game, aside from BBQ which is mostly there as a BP booster that also happens to be an okay info perk (seriously the second they make the BP gain baseline/fix the grind, you'll see much less BBQ). I don't think the killer meta has been as varied as it is now, with multiple different viable builds seeing play at high MMR. Survivor...yeah.
@SOULWARRIOR71K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2883987#Comment_2883987
COH did not change the meta, it simply amplified the already busted healing meta. Before COH, survivors were running 4 med kits. Now they don't even need the med kit and can accomplish the same thing (and have the added benefit of getting a 5th perk and freeing up an item slot). Nothing about that is positive for the meta.
No, it definitely changed the meta. Combine CoH with medkits and you can heal as a duo essentially mid chase. Medkits run out - but a well sited CoH can cover most of the map and lasts all game.
@SOULWARRIOR71K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2884014#Comment_2884014
Survivors still mostly run those same builds (most games I see at least 3 dead hards, bt, decisive etc). They just add COH to inject steroids into the team's ability to self heal. Same healing meta, just even more busted. If you really want to see the meta change, the perks that are currently meta would have to be dramatically nerfed. If not, exactly what happened with COH will continue to happen. A perk that is simply more busted than other meta perks and does not change the meta for the better.
BT and Decisive I'm totally fine with (aside from aggressive DS use with lockers). These all serve an essential part in the meta.
CoH is an abomination, and should never have been left alone for as long as it did.
DH has always been a pain, and the fact that the fix amounted to a buff to likely the most prolific survivor perk at high MMRs is ridiculous.

Change things that are broken. Imo CoH and Dead Hard are currently broken. Just don't nerf them into the ground like everyone wants the devs to.
CoH should be fine post nerf. It's still whackadooly strong, but it won't be as oppressive as it is now.
DH...no idea what they can do to it. It's just such a problem perk. The issue is that it's nerf is going to be the biggest survivor meta change we've seen in years. And that isn't going to sit easy with a lot of people who rely on it now.

Hey so looking at all of the perks (survivor and killer), it seems like a lot of survivors hate NOED and killers seem to equally dislike Boil Over (as well as Boons). I feel that I always need to point this out but I'm a 50/50 (killer/survivor). Personally, I don't care if a survivor is using BO or even DS for that matter because dropping/ not picking up is always an option that still allows you to proxy the area. Boons aren't an issue either simply because I understand what it's like for survivor teams that have one or two "challenged" players (specifically two survivors that aren't doing gens, healing, unhooking, etc. I've had the displeasure of matching with a lot of these survivor teams on both ends).
Two perks that I really dislike (yes, even more than NOED) are Agitation and Iron Grasp. One of them is bad enough but lately, I'm seeing more killers run one or both of these perks and it's even worse than when a survivor is using DS or BO. Iron Grasp on it's own pretty much guarantees a hook so I probably have more of a dislike for this perk from a survivor standpoint. As for my killer view, I mean there are hooks all over as it is and it just seems pointless to run Iron Grasp. It's still possible to wiggle out (I've done it myself) but only because I run Boil Over, Flip-Flop, Tenacity, and Power Struggle. The problem is the original issue that I addressed earlier about bad teammates. Unless someone is willing to cover you or you fall in a specific spot, it's going to be difficult in terms of survival.
I'm just wondering what everyone else's thoughts are. Personally, I think IG should get a rework as 75% seems a bit high but maybe I'm not looking at this clearly.
...
Honestly, not sure if this is a serious post.
Agitation is a decent perk, but incredibly circumstantial.
Iron Grasp is borderline useless.
Seeing both of these together...you should probably auto win, because the killer is either memeing or has no idea what they are doing.
But let me guess - you were trying some shenanigans on Eyrie with Boil Over, got blind countered and are now upset?

Maybe but I think it's sort of silly to let that stop her from having a viable ability.
Just tweak the rate - it can stay at 7 stacks, but fills up much faster.

The same tryharder, can't say the last 30 minutes of my life were awesome.
There should be a way of blocking people so that you don't encounter them again
(idk if the blocking option in-game does that)
There are more then 60k players on steam only, you can't tell me there is only one guy I have to play against......
This is likely an MMR quirk (he's the only killer close to you) as well as possibly location (he's the only killer living on the same island as you).
Being able to block people in order not to play them...people would just block basically everyone that beat them, and suddenly anyone with a good amount of skill can't find a match.

Seems fine to me, I might just make Condemned instant down at 5 stacks instead.
They can play with the rate, but I think the 7 stacks corresponds to the whole '7 days' thing.

I recently picked up Sadako (by recently I mean like yesterday LOL) despite the nightmares that girl gave me as a kid. And as survivor I don't like going against her at all, but I found out playing her is actually really fun to me ... go figure.
Any killers you guys love playing but hate going against as survivor?
Myers.
For some reason, while I consider Myers to be the ultimate 'comfort' killer, whenever I play against one they are always either running TSP or Infinite T3 and hard camping on the first down, constantly hitting people on hook etc.
Trickster would be another, but that would require me to enjoy playing Trickster.

Yes.
Never change anything about the game, because there will always be further feedback.
Imagine if this logic was applied to everything in life?

The three I think are the three most annoying (not most effective, annoying) are, in order;
1. Plague with Plaything, Pentimento, Dying Light and Thanatophobia
2. Legion with a similar load out
3. Doctor with Huntress Lullaby, Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Overcharge and two Calm Add Ons.
If you're booning Honourable Mention would go to any killer with Haunted Grounds, Thrill of the Hunt, Retribution and Undying especially Doctor with two Calm add-ons or any that decrease the Static Blast cooldown.
How about yours? I'm not asking for most effective but what builds are the most tedious to face.
That's very close to my favorite Plague build :) Just replace Dying Light with Pain Resonance.

so im posting the same question ONCE AGAIN WHAT DO I DO AGAINST A PLAGUE WHEN MY TEAMMATES CLEANSE AND JUMP ON A INFECTED GEN 10 SEC AFTER CLEANSING THEY ARE GIVING HER FREE POWERS FREE FREE FREE FREE!! what do i do????? they are cleansing next to the exit gates etc. its a joke i had to body block a mf fountain this game since one of them tried to cleanse 10 meters away from 1 exit gate...
Personaly when i play against plague i NEVER cleanse unless its the end and you can cleanse like cross map from a hooked person or from a exit gate to force her away... should i just spam cleanse if my teammates do it too, what do you do?
You...find a better team?
By your example, this wasn't a matter of Plague being good or you being bad, it was a team misplaying and the survivor role is a team based role.

I read through the official news topic here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/315687
All it does is talk about how some people favor fast queue times while other people favor fair matchmaking,The way they describe how matchmaking tries to find people close to your MMR and then expand over time to find people further away from your MMR is normal for any kind of matchmaking system, and it sounds based on that post that they'll just experiment with these numbers.
But it doesn't adress the issue that the way people's MMR is decided to begin with is the core of the issue. Based on interviews I've read, MMR for killers seems to be purely based on whether or not you get kills or let survivors escape, and for survivors it seems to be based on whether or not you escape or die.
Do the devs understand that there's more to the game than living or dying? If you're able to play like a god (on either side) and make the match miserable for whoever you're facing, and then be able to lower your MMR anyways by choosing to die at the end or let the survivors escape... Then you can keep facing newbies forever.
And that's the problem... Not everybody plays to win, personally I enjoy dying to the killer at the end, and after reading the interviews about how MMR is calculated it made so much sense why I keep matching with newbies despite having over 1500 hours.
To fix the MMR system, they need to look at more than just whether or not survivors live or die.
the MMR system needs to look at more variables than that. For example, how long a chase lasts before the survivor goes down, percentage of missed skill checks, percentage of missed swings, how fast a killer is able to locate survivors, how much time a survivor spends idling without progressing the objective. These are just examples, the most important thing is probably how long chases go on for before a down, since that's the most skillful interaction on both the survivor's and killer's side.
I apologize if this is very long, it's just concerning that nothing about the MMR calculation itself is mentioned when they talk about changes, and that they only mention how these numbers are planned to be used while finding matches.
It's...tricky.
As someone who started under ranks and moved to what I'd guess is intermediate-ish skill since then, I'd much rather be a newbie now than then. Maybe 2/3 of my games were against veterans smurfing, or simply people with dozens of times my hours.
Now...maybe 3 games in 5 are pretty high quality.
I'd like to see survivor MMR be a bit more nuanced (I'm okay with the way killer works) but it's a very difficult task.

You are describing numbness. Being a gracious loser means you don't yell racial slurs at people in postgame.

Open Handed + Kindred. 32m of aura reading of the killer while someone is on hook is so good, especially on SoloQ. My survivor build is always:
BT + We'll Make It + Open Handed + Kindred.
On the killers side, for me it's definily:
Shadowborn. Just thinking about the extra FOV...Hmmm, simply delicious.
And Rancor, be able to insta-down and mori someone on the end-game + No Way Out, it's kinda devastating.
These days, mine is something like Kindred+WOO+Lithe+x

Artist. Not gonna lie, the better I get at this Killer, the more I see her becoming a problem in the future. I am actually making swf swat teams cry - it's laughable. She requires a lot of skill too, I would equate it to learning Nurse.
She's definitely topping off 'A' rank (or 'S' rank, if you have SS and S). Some maps are rough for her and her counterplay is a bit more straightforward, but she's a wonderfully consistent killer.

What do you think about those tests? Did you get a better experience than usual? Worse? No different?
I would say the first three days felt good but not the last ones. What i dislike about the basic mmr system is that my solo q experience is different from my killer experience: when i play killer i have solid survivor teams... but not in solo q.
With the mmr tests, my killer experience didn't change much (except that when i lost... it wasn't a complete defeat with two hooks: it was a real good match). My solo q survivor experience changed drastically, and i got better teammates that could handle the killer (even strong ones). So, when my team lost, it wasn't a four man at five gen defeat... it felt as a real good match.
I think they did good with those tests and i hope that they'll implement some of it in the future. What about you?
You could definitely feel a shift from the loose days to the tight days - I'm happy to wait longer for more even games (I think day 2 felt pretty good), but we will see.

There's not going to be changes made to Sadako in the mid chapter patch. There is not a massive amount of time for changes to a killer from Chapter release to the next mid chapter for one thing. And we're avoiding the "knee jerk" reaction of making changes and giving some time for players to get used to playing as and against a killer before making any meaningful changes.
Well, that's certainly a poop on the pizza - but we will have to see I guess. Hopefully she does get some love in a future patch, because I've seen very skilled players turning her over and over and talking about how a brown addon is her BIS and should be baseline, to start, as well as just how disjointed her kit feels.
But it's your game, and you likely have data that we don't have access to. Perhaps there's some playstyle that makes her B tier...just not seeing it.

Why I don't see Prove Thyself as often as I see Borrowed Time and Dead Hard I'll never know - it's so profoundly powerful, I cannot overstate it enough.
On the killer side, Save The Best For Last is incredibly useful - but I almost never see it on other killers when I play against them!
You'll see it frequently in 3 and 4man SWFs. In solo queue, it's not great.

Oni is one of the killers that I've never figured out.
Artist is among my favorites, and may be the best out-of-the-door killers BHVR have made, design wise. Her kit is elegant, versatile and strong, but has plenty of counterplay.
The only thing that holds her back is her pretty bleh addons.

I literally only found swf matches and god tier looping survivors. I had a chance before the tests but now suddenly everyone is max MMR, gens are being rushed before I can hook someone even that I'm new I'm getting matched with impossible to catch survivors ? my matches since today were too difficult mostly 4 escape or 1 kill I'm not having any fun at all sadly just everyone teabaging at the exit gates over and over.
So a 100 hours killer main like myself I keep getting matched against thousands of hours survivors and especially swf players which makes the game x10 more difficult, I had too many big maps that 3 gens pop way too quickly before I down 1 survivors ? ######### ! I'm new I'm bad I'm trying to learn the game and killers so why is the game matching me with such elite players? they know where every pallet is located even with blood lust 3 it's too difficult every map has tons and tons of pallets and when you suffer chasing 1 survivor when you finally down them and hook you only have 1 gen left no one ever wants to interact with me they basically just want to rush gens and whenever I find one of them they're god tier loopers I have literally no chance everyone is constantly healed up thanks to boons and dead hard denies me every down.
Everyone spawns next to a gen and everyone is equipping tool boxes, I can't pip up at all I'm constantly getting -1 every match for the whole night played tons of matches with no chance of me winning, what's the point of pressuring gens if you can't end a chase because you're matched with god tier survivors ? they communicate your location so you're busy chasing one that you can't down wasting your time against 20 pallet and everyone else is doing gens, during mmr test I had a chance against normal survivors they make mistakes they also can't find gens easily and perks were okay but all my matches I'm only going against 4 perks DH , IW , UB , DS with someone of them using boons .
Even losing tons of games I'm not getting matched with similar skill survivors why gens are flying in 3 minutes, high mmr is toxic, stressful and sweaty this game doesn't reward you for improving it traps you into mmr hell a prey for 8000 hour survivors I never seen a game so unfair in it's matchmaking please remove mmr or balance it into matching normal survivors with you instead of automatically getting matched against Global Elite equivalent of DBD survivors.
Hello fellow killer main!
As someone who started in the heyday of ranks...this game is infinitely better than it was for new/intermediate players. Before MMR, you'd be facing smurf premade after smurf premade.
A few things:
- When you first start, the game tends to favor killer. Once you start creeping into the low-intermediate MMRs (100 hours sounds just right), it becomes extremely survivor favored, at least until you've got a bunch of specific perks and have gotten a feel for looping and mindgames.
- When the game starts, immediately head to the exit gate furthest from you. Keep an eye out. 9 times out of 10, you'll either see someone or find them at the gen nearest the gate.
- Learn the difference between a 'safe' pallet and an 'unsafe' pallet. For a safe pallet - just charge in, force them to drop it.
- Try to grab BBQ, Discordance, Pain Resonance and Dead Man's Switch as soon as possible. These perks are pretty great on all killers and it'll be like night and day.
- Which killer are you learning, out of interest?
- If you see someone about to sabo, drop the survivor you are carrying immediately and chase them. This works so often.
- The easiest time to hit good survivors tends to be when they are vaulting.
- If you are facing 8000 hour survivors regularly, especially SWF, then either you're a prodigy or the system pooped itself. Keep in mind that they're doing MMR testing at present. For me, at 700 hours - I see people with either much higher hours or much lower hours...maybe 1 game in 5. Hopefully the new MMR changes will reduce this further.
- Yes, survivors tend to be very toxic in victory. Don't bother chasing them into the gates, just go and stand off to one side. It drives them insane.

Very few can do it? I beg to differ. It's a weak psyche if you cannot. True, it's something that is taught not typically born with being able to do.
Yes humans are social, but if everyone got so offended by what another person has said we would be dead. Either through mass suicides, worse wars then we have ever seen, etc.
Yes I understand the value in shaking hands or saying good game after a sporting match. Though it does not change someone on either team will resent you for how you played. You just. Don't. Let. It. Get. To. You. Simply put we can argue semantics all night. The point is, if you let what another person on a video games says about you. You need to evaluate your own psyche and emotions. Instead if getting mad or depressed over a video game, have a laugh. It's more fun that way.
That's not what I've learned, or what the data indicates. Unless you want to go the 'the vast majority of humans have a weak psyche' route, in which case...yeah. Lots to unpack there.
I'm...not sure what you mean by 'semantics'. We aren't arguing over the meaning of words - actually, if I'm not mistaken, the sentence I just typed was the first example of me arguing semantics in this thread.
This is about ethics. Ethics and pragmatism. Because, speaking pragmatically, I really like this game and want it to continue to grow. And that means encouraging sportsmanship and fostering a good ingame community.
Once again, I'm not sure if you're really grasping this. People can't just choose to 'have a laugh', because that's...just not how our brains work. I can get as technical as you like on this one, but in essence, you're talking about areas of the brain which control sophisticated processes, and that's not where the processes I'm talking about happen. Serotonin, dopamine and adrenaline. It would be so much easier if we could control these three substances.

Killer perks
Discordance
Honestly the most underrated gen info/detection perk. I use this on Plague mostly but yeah. This is basically a counter to Prove Thyself and a good way to punish survivors for grouping up on gens / finding multiple survivors.
Fearmonger
Seriously if you're sick of exhaustion perks and your playstyle primarily involves gen defense this is an amazing perk.
Survivor perks
Any Means Necessary
The range on this is practically map-wide. With a little attention you can use this knowledge of dropped pallets to your advantage and know where to avoid if said pallets get broken. It's like it has certain elements of Windows of Opportunity and Alert but combined and with the ability to RESET a pallet if the killer decides to not break one. Seriously this is such an underrated perk it's one of my favorites.
Situational Awareness
If you like sticking to gens and crave info this perk is just amazing. I love to combo it with Prove Thyself so that my gen becomes a beacon for other players to come to and work on it with me for Prove Thyself value. Beware however as it is completely countered by Fearmonger LOL
Yeah Discordance is finding it's way into more and more builds for me now. It's just so consistent - survivors always group up on the first gen, making it a mini LP, and once you get down to 2-3 gens, it can really turn the match around. Just so, so good.
Fearmonger...eh. Usually when they are close to the gen, they are at full health so you don't generally see the exhaustion perks until later. What it does seem to cause is people being left on hooks for too long.

Numb to it? No. It's a part of being in the real world. It isn't sunshine and rainbows. People will be S#####. That's just human nature. Whether it has to do with previous trauma, deep seeded issues. Idk. I'm no psychologist.
I dont trash talk anyone, I don't see the point. I just don't let it get to me. Regardless of how people choose to play. Guess what? If I really got that worked up over it can you guess what I can do? Press the power button, and bam. Problems gone. If they were to show up at your house and berate you? That's an entirely different issue. You can't go through life wanting people to cater to YOUR needs. That's not how it works. In a perfect world? Eh, maybe. But the world doesn't and will never world like that. You get over it. You can either laugh or cry about it. I choose to laugh.
Sure, people can have depression. But compartmentalizing and repressing are two very different things. "Turn off" is a broad term. Compartmentalizing Isn't repressing. It's putting your emotions aside at the moment to think about it later. Which is exactly what people should do if they are that worked up over what a keyboard warrior says.
Compartmentalizing is an intellectual exercise. Very few people can do it, and even fewer can do it well (which is why police officers tend towards substance abuse and mental health issues). Repression is instinctive, and generally what most people who claim to be compartmentalizing are doing.
It's less about getting 'worked up' and more humans being a social species that relies on social cues to interact, and a very instinctive reaction when these cues are misused.
But okay, let me see if I can explain.
In competitive sports, it's expected for both teams to shake hands before and after the match, no matter how heated the rivalry. This is common across multiple cultures and basically all sports.
Why do you think that is?
