Device of Undisclosed Origin actually isn't too bad, it makes dispelling more risky since you don't know if the killer is near and you can't look around while dispelling either. It's not amazing, but it's okay.

The rest though I agree, and I agree with what you're saying in general. Not only is the end result with Blurry Photo worse than before, most of Unknown's other addons are either weak, boring, or both and there aren't many interesting combinations either. Nerfing Vanishing Box was fine, but Unknown needed far more addon changes than just that. Sketch Attempt/Rabbit's Foot/Punctured Eyeball are all really bad even for brown addons, and Homemade Mask isn't really worthy of being purple rarity either.

The only case I can think of where this addon comes to play is on '2 floors maps', like The Game or Midwich.

And yes, if you look at Unknown's addons, none of them have any synergy (except OSS Report + Game Cartridge), and nerfing his 2 best addons will limit builds even more.

I started using Discarded Milk which, honestly, is the only fun addon he has. Trying to do some bouncing-tricks-shots has been a blast so far.

No killer meta will ever be as healthy for the game as BBQ in every match was.

Removing the BP Bonus from BBQ and WGLF was the worst decision BHVR has ever made for the health of this game.

  • You have a 1s ability / movement speed penalty after shapeshift into Vampire or Wolf (Bat does not have this penalty).

The Traveler's Hat addon reduce this penalty by 10% → 0.9s

    It's kinda useless.

no. the add-on reduces the cooldown between transformations. this used to be 5 seconds. they reduced cooldown to 2.5 seconds. i believe add-on will make you have 2.25 second transformation cooldown.

You're describing his Clock Tower Gear addon, not the Traveler's hat.

In that same vein however huntress can go crossmap, I'd argue that takes more practice than shooting through the gap in shack

Slinger shooting throught gaps is more consistent/more unpredictable than Huntress crossmaps snipes.

Yeah it takes more skill to do, but it's not like you can do on every map, against every survivor. Every time a Huntress to do this it's just like "F*** it, let me try this".

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

On point for the most part but a few changes imo.

I feel demo and hag should be v hard tier, they require extremely good planning and map control to be effective.

No way wesker is top tier difficulty, his virulent bound is nuts and quite easy to use. I got good with him real quick.

Artist and slinger could go down a peg finicky powers but once you have a decent idea they get easier to use. And probably plague too. Definitely mid difficulty imo, you remove the effectiveness of healing and medkits by vomiting on everyone and everything. Not rocket science to play.

-You got a point on that.

-Sure it is easy, it is just a Dash. But this tier list is based on Skill Ceiling, meaning you need to learn ALL Wesker's techs/tricks to extract all of his potential, just his Hug Tech put him in Hard at minimum (that sh*t is hard to do).

  • @Ulfberto said:

I don't play slinger but is he really that hard? He always seemed like an even easier huntress to me...

I personally think Oni is harder than Wesker. So i'd at least put him behind Oni in the same tier or tier down Wesker and tier up Oni for the simple fact that you are more punished by mistakes as Oni than Wesker.

One of the things that makes Slinger's skill ceiling much higher than huntress is the fact that he CAN shoot through every gap in any map because of his hitbox, unlike Huntress meaning, there's more you can learn with him.

Oni is not punished a lot with his hitboxes and don't have much techs as Blight and Wesker that you can learn.

  • The FOV slider is the single most important graphics option in gaming by at least one metric: it can literally stop a game from making you feel sick.

"You would love for the FOV of the camera in the game to mimic the FOV of you actually moving through the actual world"

The closer your FOV setting comes to mirroring the portion of your vision the screen in front of you takes up, the more intuitive sense it will make to your brain. This is why there's no such thing as the "best" FOV for any game: that number will vary dramatically based on how big your screen is and how close you are to it.

I'm a little surprised that people think one is just better than the other. No. It's literally a personal, perceptual thing.

That's why people having been asking for FoV Slider and why my FoV in FP games need to be 100 or higher.

    Read this: https://www.pcgamer.com/why-low-fov-in-first-person-games-can-make-you-feel-nauseous/

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Oh good, a FOV thread, I can finally ask this (and I swear I'm not being a Judgemental B, I legit don't get it)

What is the accessibility fix that a FOV slider would give? I can see why you'd want one for gameplay reasons (larger FOV gives you more to see so you might catch a survivor out of the corner of your eye you otherwise missed) but I don't get how that is an accessibility issue.

Motion Sickness, some people can't play video-games (specifically, First-Person) if the FoV is lower or equal to 90, and the default killer FoV is 87.

I can't play killer without Shadowborn cause I get nauseous/headaches without it.

The FOV of FP games that I play need to be 100 or higher.

  • Coal Tower and Wreckers' Yard are pretty much the only two maps that are actually balanced in the game currently.

It doesn't matter if you're playing a weak killer with no chase power/mobility, you're always going to have a great time on these maps.

Midwich is also considered a killer-sided map, but if you get a RNG that spawns 2 gens on the 1st floor and the other 5 on the 2nd floor, you're screwed.

I've tried this build before and can confirm it is quite fun. I sniped the last survivor off the exit gate due to the stealth.

Same, I was running nurse's calling and the last survivor was healing on the exit gate, foolish decision.

    @[Deleted User] said:

I personally run the wanted poster when doing these (Please combine the momvement speed add-ons), the increase isn't much but it does let you get into range a bit faster while ADS, it's a very fun playstyle that is map dependent as it's been stated, however M&A and one of the add-ons is key to it i find, make sure to have a way to find survivors and keep things from ending to fast.

Before his TR nerf, I actually used Wanted Poster with Gold Creek Whiskey, but mostly because the TR addons gave a movement speed penalty (-10% and -5%) plus, Deathslinger was so slow when he ADS back then (75% -> 3.0m/s).

Now that he moves at 85% (3.4m/s) it is no longer needed in my opnion, I prefer to use the Iri coin.

    @squbax said:

I have tried stealth builds, hell my main build is composed of m&a and plaything, and I think on slinger its good tbh, and snipes, as someone who has invested unhealthy amount of time into slinger after the nerf, no one should ever get sniped, there are so much cues, you have to be distracted or genuinly bad to get sniped, with that said somehow 80% or more of the survivors I have played against manage to get sniped so it is still a build that you can use, just keep in mind if you verse people who are not bad at the game you will probably not get value from it.

Stealthslinger in a indoor map like The Game or RPD + Nurse's Calling is free snipes in my experience.

Bird mommy don't deserve this comparison.

  • You can't counter 'hold W' with this killer unlike Artist, simply because you can't see the survivors while using your power.

Meanwhile, survivors can see every single of your movements.

This killer already needs a lot of help from day one of release, but we have to wait next year for that to happen :(

  • BHVR did the impossible and made a killer worse than Sadako.

  • People report for anything in this game, unfortunately.

One day I was playing Sadako with a Hit and Run + Anti-boon build against a TTV, he and his friends reported me because I wasn't committing to chases and farming Pentimento with Shattered Hope.

I can't even play my main (Artist) without being called hacker sometimes, only because I hitting my crows cross-map.

There's a chance we might get a blog post tomorrow detailing the mid chapter changes. We had a multiday blog post for the midchapter with spirit, deathslinger, trapper, and wraith (?) changes.

Well, they didn't say anything today.

    Maybe next week.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    Why would they?

Because it's a accessibility option that should have been in the game already and it's locked into a perk?

  • Artist has a low skill floor, but a really high skill ceiling (one of the highest in the game in my opinion, higher than Nurse for sure).

You can easily identify a bad/mediocre from a good Artist player (but they are really rare to see in action).

I really don't know where people are getting the idea that less than 35 is going to be a good thing when ping and object collision are into account when using the dash. Not to mention desync because of lag spikes. And I'm yet to see the crazy hitbox of PTB, because I played there (as Wesker and against) and found the collision with survivor pretty fair to compensate for the long cooldown and charging time.

I can't deny that his cooldown is long af, but I think 30cm will be a good number to see if its work or not.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/344574/more-informations-about-weskers-hitbox

Wait, so this is what they meant by the hitbox detection changes? I thought it literally meant that the ability was passing through survivor collision if it was more than a 20m radius from their hurtbox's center. Was it really that collision was just 5m more with the environment than with survivors, and they just reduced both to 20 uniformly? the result is still the same but I was operating under diffferent assumptions.

Both values should always be the same if it works like those diagrams show. The problem then just becomes that both values are also too low to represent the game's horribly low FoV, and probably make it even worse with shadowborn or M&A users.

Honestly, it's easier to hit him now with Shadowborn for me. I don't know why but after seeing these images I can easily "see" the hitbox when using Shadowborn.

Walkie talkie is a straight downgrade from basekit tbh you simply won't be able to use his power at loops. Unicorn is pretty good since it let's him play around tiles that are long better with his first dash since he can actually reach the end of them.

I just played a few more matches with these addons and yes, it is better to use Medallion instead of Walkie Talkie.

But I think W.T is better on these maps: Red Forest, Midwich and Shelter Woods.

  • @AntiJelly said:

This is untrue. Both add-ons use multipliers, they're not additive.

I also thought that when I was testing Unicorn Medallion, but when I started testing Walkie Talkie, it definitely didn't feel like the addon multiplied the values.

Seriously, using the RPD Walkie your first dash does NOTHING (even on small tiles), and the second one feels like the distance of a Deathslinger shot.

My memory may be a bit hazy, but we usually get a bit of hype for the new Tomes and to date I've seen nothing aside from the possible twitter image of a rabbit today.

Yes, when it comes to Events, Skins, Tomes and Licensed Chapters, they announce weeks/months before.

But updates are usually announced a few hours before its release.

  • @Supernaut said:

If it were tomorrow, it would have been officially announced by now. I'd say next week. Sorry.

They never announce updates weeks/days before (unless is a new licensed chapter), they just say "Hey, update is out lol" or "Update coming in a few hours".

  • @laucion said:

So, I'm a kinda of a slow guy in this subject. Please help!

I'm a killer main who have never prestiged any char.

If I have a character with prestige level 1 BEFORE the 6.1 update, when it hits, will I have a prestige 2 character?

It is not explicit anywhere, but with all prestige 11 I'm seeing this is the only way that the math make sense (people with prestige 3 gaining +3 prestige +5 of perks).

My POV: I love playing 14 killers, so I'd be willing to prestige all others (losing theirs addons) to have theirs level 2 perks on everyone. I won't have time to get 70 perks with them, so my plan is to prestige 1 and get another prestige after 6.1, but does this work this way?

In general, unless you have less than 170 perks (4 full pages of tier 3 perks) on a killer, it's not worth it.

On the killer side after this update, getting addons and offerings will be much harder than before. I only have prestige killers that I genuinely don't play/care at all.

On the survivor side, there is no negative points so I've already prestiged them all.

  • There's a lot of people that have Motion Sickness (Including me) when playing killer and Shadowborn is the only option for them to actually be able to play the role.

But this has been asked by the community and neglected by BHVR for years now (3-5 years).

There's no reason to not have a FOV slider nowadays, the arguments from people not wanting this feature are ridiculous or hilarious like:

"FoV TeCH MAn. HOw i wILL bE abLe tO sPIn In FRonT oF tHE KiLLer or cRouCh oN hIS fACE wITHoUT hE sEeS ME?"

    or

"NOo...WE neEd tO be AbLe to HidE fRom ThE KiLLer, LoW FOv WaS MaDE fOR ThIS".

    1. If you're excluding a group of people that can't play the game without a perk just because of "Tech" that 'abuse' the specific problem that those people have, I don't know what to say to you.
    2. This was made when the game was more like a stealth game instead of a chase oriented game, and lockers exist especially for stealthing/hide from the killer.

The fact that me and other people are forced to run a perk to play the game because of inaccessibility in-game options is just sad to see (because every game have this option nowadays), and the fact there's actually people that defend this inaccessibility with bad excuses is even more sad to see.

It's so strange how Dredge can see Nightfall progress and survivors can't, while Sadako can't see condemned progress past 1 bar but survivors can. She really is the worse version of Dredge. But like this suggestion shows, she doesn't have to be. Hell, even something as simple as lowering the post TV teleport cooldown to 50 instead of 100 would do wonders.

As you said, Sadako in general only needs some number tweaks on her kit to be a decent killer, like: Reducing her teleport cooldown, Increase the duration of her post-projection movement speed bonus, Increase her invisibility while manifested (or make a system like the one I suggested), etc.

  • @squbax said:

I try to be as punctual as I can on sadako threads to make fun of her and how she is a joke, but idk man it reallly seems like a cool idea, nothing busted like the suggestion of going through walls and nothing that requires a new mechanic introduced, just something she already has.

Imo its a cool change, but you know bhvr doesn't take feedback and they just change how they see fit, thats why we have the hillbilly fiasco and slinger getting his gun turned into the cringe launcher.

They are actually taking feedback from the community these past patches and as you said, it's not something busted or a new mechanic, so it can be easily implement without many changes on her kit.

But they don't need to do exacly like this, it's just a ideia that they can take and improve.

    @Marik1987 said:

While Demanifested, she should be able to walk through Pallets and Walls.

So God Pallets arent an issue, but she needs to manifest to make damage.

I don't like these ideas of her be able to go through windows/walls/pallets.

She can start chases while Demanifested wich can make survivors block windows so easily and if you're playing on a god pallet, what stops survivors from jumping to the opposite side of it? No matter what, you will have to break it.

They're cool ideas can't deny that, but in gameplay wise, nah.

    Shared suffering:

Each time the Obsession loses a healthy state, Shared Suffering activates for 45 seconds:

    • Any survivor within 24m of the Obsession will have a 15/20/25% penalty of Healing, Repairing, Sabotaging, and Cleansing speed.

When the Obsession is fully healed by any means, this perk will deactivate immediately and the the aura of all survivors within 5m of the Obsession will be revealed for 5 seconds.

    sURVIVOR perk

    evasion:

After being chased by the killer for 13 seconds, Evasion gains a token:

    • 1 Token: Gain a 2/2.5/3% Haste.
    • 2 Tokens: Gain a 9/10/11% Vaulting speed.
    • 3 Tokens: Increase the killer's stun duration by 40/45/50%
    • 4 Tokens: Break into a sprint at 30/35/40% of your normal Running Movement speed for 5 seconds.

When the chase ends and the killer is more than 12m from your location this perk will deactivate, losing all tokens in the process.

    • Deathslinger.
    • Sadako (Even tho I hate how weak she is).

    Survivors:

    • Cheryl.
    • Ace.

I was wondering that too, but I think for the first 30 seconds the 400% debuff is from Overcharge and after that it's the 200% debuff from Call of Brian.

No, it is not that way that works:

When you kick a gen with Overcharge the regression goes from 100% to 400% in this 30 seconds, after that the gen will keep regressing with the 400% as long a survivor go stop it.

If you have Call of brine, instead of the regression starting at 100%, it will start at 200%. So combine CoB with Overcharge will make the gen regress from 200% to 400% in 30secs.

  • For me there's only two things that concerns me:

    • Dead Hard's activation: It will have a indication that have been activate? It will take some time to activate?
    • Off the Record: This whole perk concerns me right now.

Other than that, I happy with the majority changes, but there's others that I sad within:

    • Jolt: They removed the cooldown (which is awesome), but they keep the M1 only restriction.
    • Lethal Pursuer: The secondary effect is cool, but too little. I think they should pump up to 4~6secs.
    • Thana: With the gens speed increased it is a decent/good perk now, but it will probably be so boring to play against as survivor. Especially against Plague and Legion. I really wanted a rework for this perk.
  • Can't wait to see DbD's final boss, a prestige 100 Clown.

  • Where has the angry cowboy gone?

    BHVR:

    aa6.png

  • Dead Hard is a well designed perk as it does require skill and understanding of distances.

  • It's a war crime my Bird Mommy not being in the game.

    eca.jpg

  • From my POV, here's the list:

Pyramid Head - Strong 1v1 and can deny most of the strongests survivors perks currently (DS and BT), so he's a tunneling machine.

Cenobite - Easily the best 1v4 in the game, if you know where the cube will spawn and keep chain hunt going, you will just win most of your matches.

Nemesis/Demogorgon - Nemesis has a decent anti-loop and 1v3 pressuere, but Demo also has a solid anti-loop and instead of having a passive like Nemesis (Zombies), he has a good map mobility, so they're a both in the same spot.

Bubba,Myers,Pig,GF,Freddy - Meh, they're all have weakness like maps with a lot of LOS (Line of Sight), Pallets, Windows, RNG or just the size of the map (basically, everything that you don't have control of it) itself makes them bad.

Sadako - ...We don't talk about her, please. Nothing on her kit works, nothing. Easily the worst killer in the game currently in my opinion.
