  • I posted this somewhere before.

I think it would be really funny to have survivor outfits that are halloween costumes of the killers. Dwight dressed as trapper (with his glasses over the mask) for example.

  • I don't think this is unique to Playstation

A lot more people started playing killer after the update.

Since the update if you play as survivor you should get into a game quickly, while before the update it was opposite.

Well I’m pretty sure that’s one of the reasons they killswitched the incentives. It wasn’t supposed to be like that and they’re fixing it I think

You're probably right. I swear there was a post from Mandy saying that the bloodpoint gains had nothing to do with the reason the incentives were kill switched but I haven't been able to find it.

Even if it wasn't the initial reason I fully expect the calculation to be changed. One can dream, though.

That’s true but it’s 1.5x bloodpoints right now so it wouldn’t be too much different, if at all

It might if they don't change how the incentive was being calculated.

For the short time it was up the incentive was being applied to offerings as well. A flan was effectively giving a 212% bonus with the 100% incentive.

The fact that I get 3 perks for 20 levels where I used to get 4 and only get 4 perks at level 50 tells me they rigged the system.

There are 3 perks available in 40-49 but you can only buy two. Level 50 has four available but you can still only buy two. You could never get more than two perks in a single bloodweb.

I'm not talking about it being wesker or the basic principle of his power.

I'm talking about the people who are talking about the things that haven't been officially teased like the perks

    The perks were announced yesterday

Edit: Sorry, I thought they were posted on Behaviour's official twitter, but it was a different feed. Disregard.

That's why I just use Blast Mine for those challenges.

I just discovered blast mine as the best way to complete the stun/blind challenges. I actually get excited when I have a gen to 95% and I hear the killer coming. Install trap, run away, distant explosion a few seconds later. Very satisfying.

  • I had two in the past couple days, but mine did come with a DC penalty. And another weird thing is there was no game freeze or even lag or stutter. Everything was running smooth then all of a sudden I got the DbD logo, then a "Disconnected from host" error message and 5 minute ban.

First time was as legion and it happened in the middle of a frenzy right after hitting someone.

Second time was as survivor in Midwich. I was just repairing a generator and suddenly disconnected.

  • Were you not buying perks with that 9 million bloodpoints at all? Before the patch, that many BP would get you from level 1 to level 50, plus about 150 additional level 50 bloodwebs. Unless you were completely ignoring buying perks you should have had every perk at tier 3 long before spending 9 million, which should have given you P5 after the update.

  • I'm pretty sure the legitimately impossible ones have been changed. I remember there was one where multiple people needed to escape through the hatch. I don't see it anymore and I'm certain I never finished it.

But I also agree that some, while technically still possible, are a lot more difficult than originally intended.

  • The prestige catch-up mechanic was a one time thing that happened when the update dropped. From here on, when you prestige a character you gain 1 prestige level.

The catch-up did not factor bloodpoints spent but total perk tiers. To get p1, a character had to have 70 perk tiers. To get p2, you had to have 120 tiers. A level 40 character wouldn't have enough perk tiers to get a prestige level. You would have had to repeat a level 50 bloodweb at least 8 times to have enough for p1.

Edit: also the max prestige level you could get from the catch-up was 9. Any character at p3 before the update automatically became p9 regardless of perk tiers.

  • @JonathanByers said:

The highest prestige I’ve seen so far is a prestige 69 Steve (don’t have screenshot wish I had taken it when I had the chance)

69 is a little suspect. That would require earning over 5 million bloodpoints every day since the prestige update.

I was in a lobby yesterday with a p100 Dwight with a name something like "BhvrTestBot122".* I should have taken a screenshot but I immediately backed out instead.

*please don't accuse me of naming and shaming. This is not the actual name I saw, just basically the format.

I think the only reason these achievements are not in tomes is because it's hard not to achieve them.

I think true achievements should be hard as hell. Almost impossible. Like:

    • after hooking a survivor, leave hook and chase another survivor. Do this 8 times.
    • after being hooked first time, do not #########
    • at exit gate never crouch or use flashlight
    • after chasing survivor more than a minute and finally down him, don't slap him on hook and nod. Do this 5 times.
    • as Cannibal, leave hooked survivor within 15 seconds more than 15 meters away and chase another survivor. Do this 1 time.

How about "After a survivor is hooked wait at least 3 seconds before unhooking"

Seems like this was difficult for my teammates today.

  • I'm not sure, but I think it increases gradually, so not much difference between consecutive prestige levels.

I hope someone can confirm how this actually works.

  • Correlation does not imply causation. On average more time in game will lead to higher skill, but it's not a guarantee. A player with 3000 hours is not for certain better than a player with 100.

Also, whether or not it should, time played does not currently factor into matchmaking.

Lastly, the two survivors with prestige levels in the 40s are likely hackers of some kind. The only way to have a prestige level that high this soon after the update is to have earned at least 4 million bloodpoints every day since the new system went into place. I suppose it's doable but I'm skeptical.

  • I was in my first real obvious hacker match this morning. I spawned in as solo survivor and 5 generators popped in rapid succession. A second later the EGC started and someone (obviously the hacker) escaped. Total elapsed time was about 5 seconds.

I had spawned facing another survivor (also solo I'm assuming) and we just stared at each other for a few seconds. We hadn't even moved yet. We both went running to find the killer. It turned out to be a dredge just standing there, probably dumbfounded as well. Whoever the other survivor had been must have found the open gate and escaped as well.

The killer wasn't moving so I just started locking lockers to try to gain some points for the match. After about 10 seconds of that the killer started moving and we got some chase points. The other survivor and I let the EGC kill us.

On the summary screen at the end, the hacking player had 2 points (which i don't see how that's even possible since he escaped), and he had brought a flan.

Im more annoyed that all the perks i bought in the shrine are now tier 1 after paying for them already.

And i thought it was meant to be less of a grind.

    Not sure what you mean.

If you bought a perk from the shrine it should automatically be unlocked at tier 1 on every character.

If you already had that perk at a higher tier on some characters they should have stayed at the higher tier. They shouldn't have reverted back to t1.

Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

  • "I love DBD and I almost always have fun with it regardless of role."

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. I've only been playing since right before Blight was released so I'm perhaps not as burnt out as those that have 4-6 years, but I get bummed by the constant us vs. them debates on the forums.

  • I think it would funny to see survivors dressed in costumes of killers.

Dwight dressed as wraith or Elodie dressed as plague would be interesting.

  • Yes to both. The way the bloodweb works did not change. Any perk you have at tier 1 (or 2) can be found in the bloodweb no matter where you got the perk initially.

Also, generic perks (including ST perks) will appear in bloodwebs starting at tier 1 as they always have.

I dunno. I'm going to be frank, i've seen quite a few cheaters as of late. Subtle hacks are kind of out of control. Survivors with subtle 3-5% speed hacks. Killers with NO aura reading perks picking me out of a locker, even though I hid there a minute ago and they walked from across the map. (No Lethal Purser, Darkness Revealed, BQQ). Subtle Speed hacks on Killers ( I play a lot of killer and I know when a Killer is going 120% or more.) Lot of things just not adding up. Then I check and see they have the console icon, which makes me doubt myself, then I remember the Epic Games Store free accounts. Truthfully you can't blame folks right now, the subtle hacks are going rampant right now.

Killer instinct can also reveal survivors in lockers. It might have very well been a cheat, but KI might be a possibility.

  • Leon's and Jill's sweaters are in the store. You have to select just torso instead of being on the full outfit page.

Sometimes I forget you can't see everything in the outfit tab.

  • It's not the first time that different parts of a set were in different tracks.

I feel the same but if it's just skins for existing characters I'm all for more cosmetics.

I prefer the horror as well but I also agree that more cosmetics aren't a bad thing. And as far as the AoT skins go I think they fit in quite well. I am completely unfamiliar with most anime (including AoT) and even if the new skins were released without saying where they came from I don't think I would have found them out of place.

  • It is! That's what I meant but I think I worded it weird.

  • Dredgie the Snowman could win all on his own. And that one should be free as well!

  • @Flayer said:

The issue was it was giving too much BP I bet. It'll come back and be like a 50% additive bonus at the best of times.

Oh well it was nice while it lasted!

You're probably right, but I hope that's not the case. The wreath and flower offerings would almost be worthwhile.

  • I noticed this as well and it could be huge if intended. Most bonuses are additive, but this one seems to be multiplicative. This means that if everyone in the trial brings BPS or similar offering, the role with "+100%" incentive bonus would earn 12 times the base amount of BP earned.

With the new cap of 40,000, you could earn up to 480,000 bloodpoints in one trial, and more with event offering such as flans that bump up the percentage a little more (I admit this would be extremely rare as it requires all players to bring an offering of +100% or more bloodpoints.)

On a smaller scale, this also means that those +50% BP in a specific category offerings would essentially give you +100% in that category when paired with a +100% incentive bonus, making them not as worthless as before.

  • Any teachables you had unlocked before the update were automatically unlocked at tier 1 on every applicable character, regardless of anyone's prestige level.

So if you had Meg at level 40 with all 3 of her teachables unlocked, her 3 perks unlocked on all other survivors at tier 1 even if she never went past level 40.

That explains your extra tier 1 perks, but unfortunately I can't explain why your prestige levels reverted.

  • It's a little confusing because for those that have the ST DLC the perks are still labeled as being associated with the characters. But if you look at the info page for the characters there are no associated perks.

All of the perks that came from ST characters can be found in the bloodwebs like any other generic perk. The reason some of your killers have the Demogorgon perks at tier 3 is because they already had them before the update.

  • The perks that were originally from the ST dlc are now generic perks and not associated with any character, so prestiging Demogorgon, Steve, and Nancy will not unlock any perks.

However, if you had obtained the teachable rarity of any of those perks before the update (either in the bloodweb or shrine) they were unlocked automatically at tier 1 in everyone's inventory.

  • @Seraphor said:

I don't know about any of that, but I play on PS5, so it literally did.

It was an issue with PSN. The timing was bad, but it had nothing to do with the DbD update.

  • Running the perks did not help the community as a whole, though.

In theory, by incentivizing the more needed role, matchmaking will be quicker overall. So not as weird a choice as it might seem.

However it doesn't seem to be working great at the moment with longer matchmaking times than usual on the role with the bonus. It's only a few hours old though, and there may be some bugs to work out.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Its the Playstation Network. Its having issues.

This can be verified on the Playstation website. It's just rotten timing for those of us that want to try out the new update.

  • Just checked the PSN service status on the playstation site and found this:

    2022-07-19 14_02_33-PSN Service Status.png

Details under "Gaming and Social" says "You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features."

I think it's a PSN issue after all.

  • Me too. PS5 not working.

Right after I updated things seemed to be fine. I even got to play a few matches. Now I can't click "Play as Killer" or "Play as Survivor". Archives and store still work.

  • Heard it might be a PSN issue and not BHVR. I haven't been able to confirm that one way or the other.

Wherever the issue stems from I hope it's fixed soon.

Edit: When you go to the Playstation site and view connection status this is what comes up:

    2022-07-19 14_02_33-PSN Service Status.png

When you click on details it says, "You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features". Looks like it's on Playstation's end.

  • I agree totally that there shouldn't be a cost to prestiging.

But you don't have to get characters to prestige 3 to get their perks to tier 3 on other characters. Once you have a character at prestige 1 (which admittedly is 10 more levels than before), that character's personal perks will be unlocked on all other characters at tier 1. From there you can unlock tier 2 and 3 of those perks in each individual character's bloodweb just like before.

It's still a reduction because even though it's 10 extra levels, it saves you from having to find those perks at tier 1 in each character's bloodweb. So if you have 25 killers, those 10 levels save you from 75 perk unlocks (at least 38 bloodwebs).

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were referring to. I apologize if you meant something else.

  • It's a decision you have to make for each character.

For me, a character with less than 70 perk tiers and not that many valuable addons and offerings is an easy choice - P1 now.

For characters with a lot of offerings and addons I don't want to lose, I'm just getting as many perk tiers as possible. The goal is 120 since that would put them at P2 lv 50 and they can be made P3 almost immediately after the update.

  • If you already bought a perk in the shrine it will automatically be unlocked at tier 1 on all characters (including future characters). You can get tiers 2 and 3 in the bloodweb as normal, or you can buy tiers 2 and 3 from the shrine when the perk shows up there again.

Of course if you've already unlocked the perk at tier 2 or 3 on a particular character you will not lose it when the update goes live.

  • Yes. I think it's on the 1st page. There might be more than one.

  • @noobes said:

how old is the challange.. is it in the current tomes?

    Tome 5 I believe

  • Some people leave that old challenge undone just so they can equip it and confuse people.

Unfortunately I didn't have that foresight, but I smile whenever I see one.

  • @DrStone said:

I'm sorry for this silly question buuut ...

If I already have some perks on survivors (That originally belong to another one), I still get to keep them after the update? Or will they be gone?

Character keep any perks they already have, so if your Dwight already has Sprint Burst at tier 3 then he'll still have it at tier 3 after the update even if your Meg is still sitting at P0 level 40.

  • @Gary_Coleman said:

Have you played Friday the 13th? Its 4 players versus Jason, trying to escape Camp Crystal Lake. It's been out for a while. Not sure if people still play it or not.

I think there are 7 or 8 counselors vs. Jason. It's fun and has good atmosphere, but it isn't being updated anymore due to legal issues between license holders.

It's also random whether you play as Jason or a counselor when you play multi-player so that's a downside.

It does have some fun single player modes.

  • I second MrMori's advice.

If you want to be sure then count the perk tiers you have on each character. 70 will make that character P1, 120 for P2, and 170 for P3. If you do in fact have most perks at tier 3 on each character then that should be enough to get at least P3 on everyone after the update.

  • The perk tier numbers are still accurate. Nothing has come out to contradict them.

The part of my post that is no longer accurate is how current prestige will translate. This week it was revealed that we will get two bonus prestige levels for each current prestige, so P1 will become P3, P2 will become P6, and P3 will become P9.

Also, the dev. update stated that the catch-up mechanic will cap everyone at P9, so regardless of current prestige or perk tiers, P9 is the highest you can get when the update happens.

  • Nancy, Steve, and Demogorgon technically don't have perks anymore, so it is almost definite that prestiging them will not unlock any perks. The perks that used to be associated with them are now considered generic perks.

Prestiging the 3 ST characters will still unlock bloody cosmetics at P4-P6 and charms at P7-P9.
