  • Starts on the 19th all the way til Halloween Day I believe.

  • Honestly, I'd love to tie an item to a perk.

    Make it an ultra-rare item.

What I'm summarizing from the OP:

Allow Decisive Strike to be used as a "killers grasp escape" when this blade is equipped.

Here's the catch: Decsivie should work as a stun only if unequipped. This will allow Killers to know who has the DS or not inlobby.

Eh, well that's one fix. I think hopefully they're still exploring other options, but this one is a cool one you put out on the table @DarkWo1f997

  • A rework is pointless since there's now Deliverance. It's the non-broken version of D-Strike.

  • If no results are satisfying after months of being looked at, a rework is no longer viable and scrapping the perk entirely, making a whole new concept to a whole new perk for Laurie, would suit the games balance.

They are literally failing to balance it, why keep it?

Anyway this PTB isn't exciting and it's just minor changes. Meh.

  • Meh. I just wish this game was perkless. Seems more fun that way and more balanced, maybe then I'll drop more dollars into it ;) haha

  • pleeeeeeeeaseeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Honestly, why even bother running Hex: Ruin? Just use No One Escapes Death.

It's more punishing than Hex:Ruin and not AS easily countered.

I mean, I'm the only one who cleanses totems and guess what props because nobody bothers having a secondary objective? Everyone else but me :(

But yeah nah, I never bother with Ruin. Not good enough.

So this is the version 1.0.2.:

Unlocks the ability to heal yourself without a Med-Kit at 30/40/50 % the normal healing speed. Skill Checks triggered in this situation have success zones reduced by 20/10/0 %. Increases the efficiency of Med-Kit self-heal by 50/75/100 %.

what if we used this again with tweeks?

Unlocks the ability to heal yourself without a Med-Kit at 30% the normal healing speed. Increases the efficiency of Med-Kit self-heal by 25/50/75%.

    OR

You can use your medkits efficiently. Med-kit self heal charge consumption is decreased by 50/75/100%. Also you heal yourself faster by 10/15/20% (10/20/30)

Then buff botany knowledge and we good. I need to know what do you think
(also this post was posted once but the it has to get approved or something so posting again)

I wouldn't mind these changes or the changes of only one heal per game. That would certainly make the match scarier and more serious for survivors

If it was limited: Why not just bring medkits? Better heals than a perk.

  • I like this idea.

Even then, I never see a problem with Self Care when I play Killer myself.

Survivor Perk - Get Down - When a survivor is in the crouched position they are given the option to Get Down which would enable them to lie down on the floor and crawl for an unlimited duration. Tenacity increases crawl speed. If the Killer finds you, they can pick you up straight away without hitting you and if you have already been hooked you can be instantly morid in the crawl position. To avoid sneaky game hostage plays Any survivor that uses this perk is revealed to the killer if they are in the crawl position when all gens are done or if they are the final survivor left. This perk increases all sounds the survivor makes by 90%/60%/30% so killers can have a good chance of finding you if they are listening.

    I love this

  • But uh... Overwatch has ingame voice comms

  • I haven't noticed the difference much though, at any given rank.

  • Same with survivors, that damn music that plays when you're injured is just so obnoxious.

im playing survivor at rank1 this season solo, with no items, no offerings, so its not “all” swf :)

Go no perks Mr. and you'll see a new type of fun in solo surviving - it brings a whole new essence to the game.

Solo survivor is the way to go.

[op] I never have SWF groups with me when I play much

  • @Orion said:
Yes, OP, it's broken at the moment. One guy hit the Survivor after they'd already started running and they were still invincible. Naturally, all the Survivor mains support this as it is now.

I think the mentioned above video is kinda iffy to say when you put it as a logical viewpoint, but I can see WHY they did it. It's to prevent dull moments that would've continued on if the meg didn't have immunity; but it's broken in the sense where it could end up giving free escapes. So yes, the unfreeing yourself immunity is clearly broken. You should make sure you're stating and making it clear.

The unhook where someone else performs it, the i-frame is not broken. I barely noticed the changes - mainly because I tend to chase and down the unhooker not the unhooked - but regardless if I needed the quick kill, it's barely noticed the I-frame because you actually have to time your hit. Sounds familiar.... like the decently good flashlight nerf that happened where you ACTUALLY have to time the save. Wow! I can't imagine having to try so hard for anything :/

Aside from sarcasm, it's clear the attempt escape unhook needs tweaking.

  • The hook buffs were placed to that the unhooked survivor wasn't the one being punished for being sandbagged or just genuinely unhooked by someone right infront of the Killer.

You know, it sucks being on the other end being sandbagged and farmed, then while you're still immobile, get down, get hooked again, and so on... It's a highly unenjoyable aspect of the game so this is the fix. Or an attempted fix.

I barely noticed a difference. Though, I rarely have the need to hit the unhooked survivor because I just down the unhooker anyway and chase her instead ¯\ _ (ツ)_/¯

Removing Tiers from the perks is probably the best idea they've had dealing with it. This will help new players immensely as every perk they get will be full powered.

    It also means

    • Less data to pour through when rebalancing perks, you just have to rebalance the one level of the perk, not all 3
    • We have 2/3 less levels to pour through to get all our perks.

It will make things easier on EVERYBODY, it's WIN WIN

I feel like taking away the tier grinding would remove the rewarded feeling of having Tier III come up. I don't mind the grind but I can understand as a casual player it'd be really tedious and long.

Ok seriously the 5 minute game stuff is laughable since currently at rank 1 90% of my games are 10-20+ minute games. The only times that doesn't hold true is if the killer is just plain bad, trying to depip, or screwing around. The survivors are all Depip squad level adn killer has no Ruin and everyone has a toolbox and doesn't screw up.

The other times it last less than 5 minutes is when the killer just dominates either being really good map rng helping or hacking/lag switching to freeze survivors in place. On pc at least NA that's how most games are going so far for me.

I also run into a lot of the same killer pool playing at rank 1 so it's pretty consistent and only varies when it's a baby killer or someone doing dailies/trying to depip.

    Can say the same.

Solo survivor, and I never get a 3 SWF man group, Sometimes 2 friends but ultimately i'd say 80% of the time everyone's a solo player in the lobby.

Games feel more balanced than ever than with SWF, unless you come across hella competent survivors (Honestly, I found my best games ever were a 4 solo man lobby who all knew exactly how to play right and those were my only 5 min games but they are kinda rare)

Agreed that the totem system needs some rework but a 5th slot just makes the exceeding limit for balance of the 0-4 perk system.

  • DBD russian roulette with hex perks is dirty if you can't do ruin skillchecks

  • @TheBean said:
Turn the chat off if you don't want to use it. There is the option to do that. So you can actually remove it yourself.

Why nerf survivors playing SWF?... If anything, you are seeing killers getting buffed because of SWF. Buff killers for SWF, don't nerf survivors.

    Problems:

Nerfing Survivors around SWF hurts Solo players
Buffing Survivors around SWF than buffing Killers makes playing solo survivor undesirable.

  • I thought a lunge hit had a longer cooldown (The weapon swipe) than a regular hit?

  • can we just... get to choose between the current theme or the original one...please

    stop torturing us !! :((

  • Cool idea, and nice mathematics, but unfortunately no.

Mentioned before, the games balance revolves around 0-4 perk slots. An exceeding that limit would feel like a huge break to the game and would end up being reversed anyway.

    This meme perfectly summarises this post;

Okay I’ll discuss this topic seriously now; I do agree, the game would be much better if I could get above 30fps consistently. I have a low-end PC - it’s actually a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop - and can’t get much more than 45fps on certain maps.
The game’s skill checks mechanic and some other things are actually designed for 60fps. Because I get below 60fps, the skill check needle is... erratic sometimes. Below 60fps makes it completely impossible half the time to actually land a great, because sometimes there are no frames that have the needle in the great zone.
Don’t get me started on the console version though. The poor optimisation makes it nearly unplayable half the time. The skill checks are even worse, and the Doctor, even without having a build that makes skill checks more difficult (ie, Unnerving Presence, Huntress’ Lullaby) is pretty much brokenly overpowered on console. Hell, Ruin basically freezes the game entirely until it’s destroyed.

Thank the Entity we’re getting optimisation passes on all platforms in December. Maybe even I will be able to get 60fps then.

    This isn't true.

Actually, the whole "game was built for 60 fps" is,

but you can hit great skill checks consistently on PS4.

    Easily.

    ...

  • As a solo survivor, I shouldn't automatically lose because the other 3 survivors died :/

Sheesh @Brady ...  Seriously, who the hell cares about the ethnicity of survivors? They gotta be interesting characters I guess but this diversity garbage is just driving me nuts. Make them all blond Swedes or smoking hot Somalian women, I could care less. Backstory to either of them can make the game a bit more attractive, but it's such a trivial "problem", not even worth mentioning.

I live in a place where we are very diverse (An apartment building with like 1000 people) so it's unusual for me to see something left out.

That being said, my level of disappointment isn't impacting and I really could give less of a ######### of what characters there are because I have my ginger meg (I'm ginger)

But yeah, still some disappointment there but hey man just an opinion!

  • Half of those aren't effective against a Killer with a brain

    Edit: Almost most.

You gotta be smarter than that and also be ontop of your looping game

Agreed though, all my roommates and friends thought Nea's outfit was Feng Min's... and they were disappointed to find out it wasn't.

Well Jake is also Asian so you have two people who are part of the Asian community in Dead by daylight. (Survivor wise at least so not counting Rin of course)

    Jake being Asian American
    Min being Chinese

I was always under the impression he was indigenous (Native American)

They also just nerfed bloodlust making the loops even longer.

This is where you're wrong but right at the same time.

When I head towards a jungle gym, or any given pallet, I expect to be mindgamed. And I will initiate a basic loop or window loop to begin those - it is not my fault if you decide to just follow me step by step around a loop and not actually try to outwit me. Making 0 attempts to mindgame the Survivor is a failure on your part, and pallet loops and window jungle gyms punish you for that.

    • Don't just follow them around a loop, mind game them
    • Many long infinities are now taken out of the game (I played, they're gone. I tried.)
    • Predict Survivor movements
    • Turn around, walk backwards, and then swing or continue following the survivor
    • Make unpredictable movements
    • Watch for fake window vaults (Unless they have Q&Q listen for the vaulting sound)
    • Predict when a pallet drop is going to be given. Sometimes you'll fall for a fake drop, it happens.
    • Know when to hit through a window

The intention of pallets are M I N D G A M E S. Not just to bloodlust their every step (Which is why it got nerfed)

The difference between Rank 10 and Rank 1 is that most typically Rank 1 Killers will mindgame you rather than bloodlust you. As a survivor this means:

    • Predicting Killer movement. Is he gonna turn around and hide his stain and continue following me? Is he going to go the other side of the loop?
    • Fake window vaults
    • When to drop the pallet
    • When to vault
    • When to leave to a new jungle gym
    • When to side juke
    • Where the pallets are
    • Where the windows are
    • General map placement and knowledge of it

It's called outplaying each other, try it sometimes. It works. There's more to this game than some know.

  • It's to help survivors against Killers who are farmed unwillingly. It actually gives them a chance to escape and I appreciate that.

Open Handed - it literally has no use if nobody on your team has any aura reading abilities. I wouldn't have a clue on how to fix the perk other than giving it it's own unique function.

It works for yourself as well, and proper use of the pre-game chat will fix the "your team" bit.

    Point is here --> .

    You are here................ --> .

Open handed has 0 base function without any perks to support it otherwise. Like, literally nothing of gameplay would be changed. It is meant to support perks like Bond and stuff like... feels like a waste almost because 36m is big enough. Unless all x4 use it, there isn't much good use out of it. Unlike Self Care or something Lol.

  • @Orion said:
I am sure it would be, but maybe that's because I actually play both sides. The lunge works the way it does for a good reason. Windows and pallets are not walls.

Why don't you think more before you get into a chase? Why don't you think more when you see the Killer is about to lunge?

    Agreed.

The lunge is not the problem, these broken hit boxes are (Both broken hitboxes that vary to favour both sides sometimes)

    oh, you didnt know?
killers using exploids (like the clown gaining speed while always hitting the reload button over and over again): will be fixed within a couple of days / a week.
survivors using exploids (like gentapping): might get fixed after (how long does that exist? oh yeah....) two years.

Because it's such a major game breaking exploit that it requires instant fixing. If you have to use gen tapping as an excuse then you've got more problems than the gen tapping.

It's very rare I see anyone gen tap and when they do quite often they blow the gen up and or they get found by the killer paying attention. While they're busy gen tapping I and the others are powering through gens and laughing at them.

Then we usually have to go rescue them off the hook because they're so focused on gen tapping they don't notice the killer about to nail them.

On any of the small maps that have confined gen areas and someones doing that I'll leave because I know the killer will get them soon.

As a killer I love it when people gen tap especially when I don't use Ruin because they're not paying attention and it's a free Ruin effect.

I think another thing people need to understand that gen tapping is essentially favouring the Killers side.

Killers are all about time management and gen tapping takes evidently longer (You're adding an extra 0.5 - 1.0 second extra/ charge due to the animation delay. 80 x .5 is 40, 80 x1.0 is 80. You're then setting the generator back another minute~ish) and therefore you're allowing more time given to the Killer for a chase and hooking.

With that, it means Ruin is being effective by slowing the game down. One way or another, the reason they aren't touching this "exploit" is because its seriousness is being exaggerated. Gen tapping is an ineffective exploit; unlike the clown's current one, and such, this exploit does NOT grant a competitive advantage.

  • SWF also ruined other many perks:

Bond, emapthy, alert, premonition, spine chill... so on.

  • Was it tested in the PTB? The bloodlust changes?

If so, I didn't notice jackshit but it could've just been me.

  • I actually had this guy, who hooked me twice before a generato was done (Wasn't having a good game), and the third chase, I was hiding in a locker and lost her, but for some reason I fast sprinted out of the locker, and the Killer actually let me go and chased someone else to give me a chance to do a generator or something. It just felt nice of them to do so as they could've just killed me right then and there.

They did need a nerf yet some on the killer side used every excuse and insult under the sun to say why they weren't happening. I agree with DS, perhaps not being removed but it definitely needed a nerf. I only pointed out the salty minority because the person i responded to was from said minority.

The issue with SC isn't the heal itself since it can be negated to an extent but with people abusing it healing 2 feet from killer on other side of pallet/window. Yet the vocal minority complains that it needs to be removed from the game. They basically want no healing at all not even medkits if they're completely honest.

The changes to it that I and others proposed that if it gets stopped it resets are a good balance yet to the minority they'll get what they want no more heals in front of killer then still complain it's broken.

The way I see it is that, if almost everyone is running it, it needs to be reviewed. I run SC on PS4 all the time and it's my favorite skill. I also notice that most survivors on PS4 these days run it as well. I think the best solution, and one that won't push off the survivors would be like you and many others have said, have it reset if you stop. It would still be a useful skill, but against a killer with NC (especially now that it is in the shrine) it would be a bigger challenge.
The main problem I see is that the same killers that always say or post images of the Doctor saying "Git Gud" are the ones always complaining that killers are underpowered. Any time a survivor has any complaint (look at any balance forum posted by a survivor) the amount of "git gud" replies is depressing. Don't get me wrong, there are killers that will post valid counter arguments but those are the minority. I feel like in game, survivors are the toxic ones, but out of game it's the killers that are toxic.
I know I'm about to get spammed saying that I'm full of crap and I need to git gud so go ahead :/

They tested it out already with the progression reset mechanic and found it distasteful (It's in one of them Q&As) I can't be certain, but they didn't feel like it was "the right fix". Could be wrong but regardless it's been tested and results were it didn't go through to even PTB.

Yeah I know what you mean, it can be hard to have a decent dicussion around here.

I completely agree, but once again the dbd devs are listening to toxic survivor mains.
So it isn't going to get nerfed anytime soon sadly.

Yep they're listening to toxic survivor mains argument again when clearly that's not the case. Just like with the SB nerfs where some killer mains used that excuse. The devs have stated they want to get it done right, oh look they're caving to toxic survivor mains again.

SB nerf comes through, well they didn't enrf it hard enough despite getting what was asked for. DS nerf same argument used by some killer mains toxic survivor mains and review bombs will keep them from doing it. Ds nerf is hitting with this patch.

Hey, that's not the case at all. SB needed a nerf, DS should be removed, alot of these things are agreed upon. You just so happen to listen to the minority who act "salty" and "toxic" the most. I think the majority do on this forum.

Anyways, my point ultimately, was to say healing is not the problem, although may looking like it, it just isn't. Ihe main problems are gens & chases in this game. I just think people are masking the broken core with saying most perks are unbalanced.

We got a lot of feedback about lobbies and players seem to love the changes. (and yes, we know, the Clown theme is getting old) Sadly chosing your own lobby theme isn't planned.

    Can I ask why?

I understand that the devs want to specifically set a theme when applicable, but games like Smite and such allow purchasing themes and using them. and this would be not only a good source of revenue, but a source of sanctification from the user base.

No harm could be done if you guys were to release themes+custom menu music as DLC such as the original soundtrack on steam is for sale.

Again, pros are, more consumer satisfaction+ more income to support whatever you need.

I mean, what's the harm in letting people buy some themes (BBQ, Halloween, Clown Music DLC)? More revenue, more consumer satisfaction... Seems like an awesome business decision!

But I'd really appreciate if you gave an explanation as to why it wouldn't be allowed (which regardless would be respected and understandable regardless of reasoning)

It's not like it'd hurt anyone, right?

Edit: The such high demand to this specific request... you guys could really atleast consider? Theme of the game is really important to many people, maybe bring this discussion up with the team and maybe publicly let us know for the last time what the verdict is about this?

    Sounds legit.^^

Tell me again, how do you bodyblock a survivor and use the shock on him at the same time?
If you waste your time trapping a survivor, the rest of the team should have a basically a free escape.
The killer is basically putting himself in a bad spot.

Man, have some respect for an opinion or else you have no business commenting.

Agreed with @Master , we're able to run right into him to avoid his Shock. If his basic attack was a one-hit down, and that situation was occurring, I'd agree with you, but he doesn't have any one-shots so in that case, no, I'm sorry but I disagree with your nerf.

When you become experienced at the game (maybe you already are i'm not sure) you'll come to realize those small cornered spots are meant for little jukes and not to hide in at all. That's just a tip!
