Seems like a really easy way to help balance the solo vs swf experience.

Basically similar to the entitys arms around the obsession portrait indicating when they are chased

just go away with ideas that only benefit one side of the player base...

I don't think you get that I'm kidding anyway if killers are getting something survivors should too

you realize that survivors are getting kindred in baseline while killers aren't getting anything right? Would you then support killers also getting a perk as baseline for free? And no...not a useless perk.

  • I would say they made sure Dead by Daylight got even more famous to people who aren't even playing video games at the start but got into it because of the characters they are familiar with.

  • @Th3Entity said:

Sure this is a good idea but while we are at it let's add da and dead hard as basekit for survivors.See how ridiculous it sounds now

Adding those perks is pretty broken, while ruin literally only slows down the game, which is ending way too fast anyway. Not saying survs shouldn't get anything but aren't they like planning to make kindred baseline anyway? Not very fair is it? And ruin is one perk, what gives the already OP survs the right to get two perks?

  • @SoloSurvivorMain said:

Kind of rediculcous to asl for an implementation of something that can only be taken out of the match when the survivors are about to be and or already are taken out of the match like have you tryed to play survivor with ruin activated lol

you can't really play surv or killer with ruin, because most of the time it's already destroyed before the game even starts xD

Is that a pun? Lol you could have been one of those matches where a killer had never seen me

oh you know what I mean xD Everytime they ''hide'' it's not even hiding and if they are playing stealthy every once in a while, then props to those survivors

Lol stop blowing smoke mate, there is no way you're not playing against stealthy survivors, you just can't find em and thus you're left with the loppers.

no, literally when I find people ''hiding'' they just suck at hiding because they've become accustomed to looping instead of actually hiding

There's already a Hex Buff it's called Thrill of the Hunt

so you think a buff to a bad totem system is just using another perk slot? Can you please just leave?

Either make it where the exit gates open when the killer closes the hatch.

    or

make it where the endgame collapse does not happen when the killer closes the hatch.

once the killer closes the hatch is pretty much game over.

    that's not true.

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

Great perk idea. I do think it becomes a broken perk if com ined with OC and HL. That would be too powerful and too easy for the killer. I do think Ruin should work with it.

    1. Ruin directly affects the gens. Therefore they are affected by the additional penalties if it is still active.

    2. HL affects the survivors, not the gen. The gen impact is due to the survivors messing up because of HL.

    3. Overcharge requires direct interaction with the killer and then the survivor.

basically, the survivors get the ''kicked'' interaction from Surge and Survivors then interact with it again. Thus it would be cool if Overcharge would combine well with Surge. I think that 32 meters isn't a big enough radius though

  • your first question is already wrong since the perk says ''while healthy you walk''. Not run.

It's literally only walking, not vaulting or stuff like that. And Sprint Burst only activates while walking and doubles ur running speed.

So survivors should just not waste time and run towards the killer? If you're having trouble with looping just eat the pallet and break it, don't respect/swing through pallets early.

I don't have trouble with pallet looping, it's the fact that looping takes our time away and thus enables gen rushing and the match becomes ######### and boring.

I mean what else can they do? Stealth isn't always a choice.

it's not always a choice, but I haven't ever seen survivors playing stealthy or trying to hide, they all just instantly go for the pallet loops XD

    Please read!

Before anyone says it, "They already said they weren't going to bring back Legacy skins out of respect for the older players!" Yes, that is true. But this post is in regards of recent developments coming to the blood web.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82749/designer-notes-new-status-effects-and-bloodweb-changes

Now hear me out, "Legacy Skins" were created in the first place as a "reward" for anyone who had to endure the old blood web. This is all well a good, since they deserved a reward for the older blood webs for being so punishing to anyone who had to endure them.

But think about it... "Legacy Skins" were created from a Blood Web overhaul... and since this seems to be happening again for newer players... Does that mean something similar will happen for the newer cast of original Killers and Survivors? Will Doctor, Hag, Huntress, etc get their own Legacy skins from this new development? Same with Feng, Ace, etc? I ask out of curiosity, but also because it would make sense if they did this for the generation that came after 2016.

This may not be a HUGE overhaul like what happened in 2016 of course, but it is indeed something that is decreasing the difficulty to acquire perks and add-on's, which was the general point of the overhaul from the past. That's why I bring this up of course, its the "principle" of it I suppose?

    2017- Early 2018 cast

Now, when I say "newer cast" I mean Killers and Survivors like Doctor, Hag, Huntress, Feng, Ace, David, etc. The cast that were made around 2017- Early 2018. I'm NOT referring to Killers and Survivors like The Legion, Plague, Jane, Jeff, etc. As they're from later times, like Late 2018 - 2019.

    Opinions?

What does everyone think about this? Should they add newer Legacy Skins because of the new Blood Web changes? Or should Legacy Skins in-general just fade into obscurity and die off with the older players? Its a interesting topic indeed and i'd like to read everyone's opinions on this.

if people actually even made the newest killers high level, then they should also be rewarded, since that's harder to do than the older killers like doctor...

  • @Haraak said:

I dont uderstand anything on this post. Do you think that being stealthy with wrait will make the survivors oblivious?? Because thats not the point at all.

it's about telling the survivors when a stealth killer is using his stealth, thus making them look around even more than usual. Which isn't very stealth-like now is it?

  • Ok I thought it would be while running, but pallet looping is still a thing. So survs can keep making matches as fun as possible for killers by mindlessly running in circles around a pallet.

  • oh go get the f outta here! You realize that giving survivors 20% increased movement speed makes them 5% faster than normal killers and basically makes pallet looping infinite right?

  • Pallet destroyal: If a survivor stands in front of the pallet looking at the killer, healing or tbagging, destroying the pallet won't destroy it but turns it into a projectile instantly killing said survivor and making their game crash

''well that hurt...a lot!'' -survivors after smashing their monitors with their fists

  • Thanks for the few shared builds :) I've tried them all and got 3 and 4ks with all of em. Thanks a lot. If you have any other builds for other killers you want to share, go ahead xD

  • As I've seen so far you guys don't enjoy stealthy but scary games. I meant this a bit like as in Outlast. When running into Chris Walker, you had to hide and u were scared and if he were to find u, you were going to run for your life and be scared and I just noticed that he also needs to hit you twice, most of the time. Not really just throw stuff at him or run in circles xD I guess it's a bit far fetched but ok

  • Is there a chance of you guys changing the way chases work? Considering the boring pallet looping which is boring for both survivors and killers.

  • @deadbyhitbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/76172/the-way-the-game-should-be

The reason this game is still surviving and has a loyal playerbase is because of looping. It makes the game very unique, and is for the majority of players much more fun than stealth. Making this a stealth based game would kill it.

Looping is unique? I'mma just disregard you from now on if you call walking in circles almost all game long unique.

  • @Seanzu said:

    This is honestly terrible.

this is just "I'll 4K every game"

Increasing gen time? Slowing survivors if they're injured when killers are already faster? Reducing pallets? increasing gens completed by 1? Flashlights standard but only blind killer? What's the point, if you get blinded, stand still, turn around and then the flashlight is worthless.

Your whole idea of "stealth" but then slowing survivors down so much they wouldn't be able to get around a corner and juke is hilarious.

I'm not usually this harsh on ideas but this is literally somebody wanting to 4K every game and make survivor suffer.

You're only counting the stuff that's bad for survivors xD Not the speed nerf to killers for example. Increasing gens isn't a must btw. And yes, I think that If I stab you, you aren't able to run at full speed

  • I've never had difficulty tracking down a iron will, urban evasion claudette tbh. You can still hear breathing or the gras rustling if you listen really well

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

“Running while not being in a chase should never be done”

Umm what. Just like in every horror film, not everyone is so terrified they wouldn’t dare run. This is isn’t just “horror” game but survival too. Meaning you should feel like you have to run, make bold moves if you have to. There is a feeling of adrenaline survivors should have that isn’t found in simply stealthing.

I meant this as in "you should try to be as stealthy as possible" since running leaves tracks behind and thus making a meeting with the killer a more frequent possibility, and we wouldn't want that in stealth scenarios now would we xD

  • You only name a buff for the survivor...you realize that exhaustion perks are insanely strong right? If you were to buff these perks like this then the killers should also have a buff. But in the end, since there are more surv players than killer players the killers wouldn't get a strong buff since the surv community would start crying over that again.

So no thanks to this whole idea.

  • Screenshot_8.jpg Screenshot_9.jpg Screenshot_10.jpg Screenshot_11.jpg

I ended literally almost every chase in a matter of at most 1 and half minutes...get the ######### outta here with this ######### system. Forgot to add that I got 3 kills and one guy escaped.

  • Screenshot_6.jpg Screenshot_7.jpg

I mean come on! Stop saying ''oh yeah we're working on it''... Just go back to the older system where kills mattered. Where points mattered.I think it was 12k points was a pip and 24k or 32k was a 2 pip.

  • I would just go through with the religious stuff, cause in the movie universe and the gaming universe, it's all fiction. If a couple of special people can't seem to grasp something as simple as that, then I wouldn't mind some ''controversy'' about a game in which there floating, teleporting, killers becoming invisible...

  • Because just about 90% of the matches (At least from my experience) that have involved random survivors end up with A LOT of mistakes.

dc's don't favor the killer, as they almost make sure the killer doesn't get a pip. SWF is not balanced, it's only good/fun for survivors while killers have to suffer.

  • I think im not alone, but there are still not many of us that have mastered Freddy in his current state.

I also enjoy old Freddy waaaay more than the new Freddy. Snares ######### suck and so does the teleportation with its 5 second warning...

  • @Ghostul said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/564205#Comment_564205

Yep. If a killer wants to rank up at all, they rely almost solely on the survivors. THEY decided what rank the killer gets, because of all the reasons you said.

You have no control it feels like.

(Stupidest thing to me is that you depip for literally winning too fast. Shouldn't that mean you need to rank up since you destroyed that team?? On the flip side if you struggle and barely make the kills you double pip and go higher. Definitely makes sense.)

the examples you just mentioned are so frikkin true and relatable! I've had this happen a couple of times. Had a 31k points Spirit game today, only got 1 pip, while I didn't camp and they didn't get all the gens done...

  • Just got another game with 3 kills this time, no mori or camping. No pip. Please fix this stuff quickly, getting sick and tired of this ######### to be honest...

  • Why not make the dream/nightmare pallets as his base or make the snares like 30% slow? His projections also feels very weak due to it taking/warning for 5 seconds. Any reasoning behind those decisions?

  • @Peanits said:

Considering you did use a mori in this instance, that is to be expected. A mori makes the match significantly easier and the emblems reflect that. We are currently looking into the edge cases surrounding the emblem and making adjustments as needed. Recently, we've pushed some changes to the survivor side of things to make it more consistent, and we would like to give killers the same treatment when we have a chance.

I'd like to thank you for answering this post considering it wasn't very friendly put out there by me.

Do disconnects vs michael myers (1 disconnect last match) also decrease his pip chances? The player disconnected after I hooked him once.

I killed all players in that match as well, without mori or anything special and still didn't pip there as well.

    Thanks again for answering.

  • So you guys think I ''need'' the mori? I've also had this withouth using a mori and 4k'ing. I just used it for fun tbh

  • Something special like the halloween skins. Were the blood is dripping and glowing...but in a difference more special way. FOR EVERY KILLER after reaching a special goal. Got the idea from someone in the first few comments, something about having A LOT of kills.

  • How would you feel if after all the points levelling him you no longer like playing him after the rework?

Didn't they promise to have him reworked like 2 or 3 patches ago? I think they promised the patch after the Wraith rework. Now they also want to rework the weak Legion. I also heard that the Plague is quite weak, but I wouldn't know since I haven't played her yet.

  • @RepliCant said:

    "Starting to Understand"

Can we stop saying how weak or how powerful a Killer is not even 24 hours after release?

I mean... are we going to have another Legion freakout with the community or? Are y'all actually gonna learn that opinions on matters like this take time to form....

I don't think Tru3 has even formulated his own official opinion.

whaddaya mean? Everything that was said about Legion and Freddy was true because they ARE weak. Haven't played the Plague yet, but her power seems a little bit boring

  • You also get a stack when the killer is holding the survivor and then hits you

if ur not up to that then don't play the game xd It's supposed to be gory, I mean ur being hung on a meathook for crying out loud

remember when Michael Myers could stack evil within gain rate when stalking multiple survivors at the same time?

I have just had a match there was two rage quitters as I was huntress with iridescent head. One sacrifice and the 4th who didn't do anything the entire match apart from walk around past gens and everything and he then takes to jumping through the hatch.

So one got away. One survivor probably felt good while escaping a bad match. Why shouldn't players have the chance to get out of a hopeless endeavour without dc'ing?

Because they don't deserve it. When they played bad, they don't deserve the win. Simple as that!

  • To be quite honest I like the Nightmare on Elm's remake. It was a bit weird with the pedo aspect but other than that it was pretty good. Gave me a good scare back then.

The Halloween remake this year was good but it's a shame that watching the trailer basically meant watching the movie just as a shorter version. The kills were nice but it's just like with the movie The Megalodon, the best scenes were in the trailer and that's it.

The characters were stupid and didn't feel familiar at all. The writing was basically bad because the story was plain and filled with clichés.

I sometimes like remakes but in this case, I didn't.

  • @The_Crusader said:
So just had a game where after two other people die, the other remaining survivor tries bodyblocking me at every opportunity, following me around slamming pallets and jumping in lockers trying to get me killed.

As much as killers pretend online they punish this, they really don't.

The killer - a pig (not surprising they're mostly toxic as hell) - sees all the bodyblocking and attempts at attentuon and still tries slugging for the 4k. After a long game he hooks the other guy before he bleeds out, then stands on the hatch so I can't enter it. Stood there for a good 5 minutes until I lured him away and managed to get in.

You got survivors trying to get you killed. You got killers blocking the hatch. The reason I'm making this discussion is because while I wish this was a rare occurance it's sadly not. This kind of situation is becoming all too common. This is hands down the worst community I've ever seen in any game. Behaviour seems content to do nothing. Guess I was just meant to disconnect? Lose points, pips and items through no fault of my own?

What the survivor did is actually very rare like that. What the killer did is understandable considering the hatch. ######### the hatch giving undeserving wins to a survivor while the team played poorly.

  • I am quite content with these stats or ideas, I guess you could say. Implementing something like this 1 year after they mentioned it would be quite nice.
