Groot never leaves a daily ritual incomplete so this thread I will be saying things that make me lose my #########. @JawsIsTheNextKiller @Mushwin
- My game lagging, nothing annoys me more than this.🤣
- De-piping really annoys me, I don’t expect to win every game but it is very annoying.
- Having to repeat myself several times.
- My brother throwing a remote.
- Some other stuff that I’d rather not talk about on a public forum.

Hello there, i am mainly a killer main, however i play survivor pretty often as well.
So today i went against a three-man SWF and i was the one that wasn't. Let's skip to the end game, i 99% the exit gate and some guy was hooked. The Huntress had NOED so i could not go for the save and i could not see the totem, the Nea opened the gate and she escaped me aswell. After the game the trio literally got salty over me for not saving their friend. Saying things i was a disgrace to this world, that I should quit the game because i "suck". I laughed it off saying they're probably some kids that have nothing else to do than salt in the end game chat.
Does this happen to you aswell? 🤔
Only when I play killer my only reply is a harassment report to PSN let's see those kids explain to their parents why their PSN accounts got banned lol

I have no problem with rebalancing things a bit to support a more traditional win/loss system.
I don't see why. Most other games with a proper ranking system break things down on who wins and who loses.
Lol exactly there isn't any clear cut win or lose in the game that's why there are thousands of threads trying to debate what is a win

At red ranks survivors usually don't instasave people when Devour pops up, they save last second stage and instead of it break your totem. Sure, you can just protect the totem, but then they'll know where it is anyway and break it while chase or just rush gens.
I main wraith good luck following XD

Yeah i'm usually playing in red ranks, swf are common in my games. The rank difference is the reason for our different observations i guess. :D
Eh even when I was at 8 survs would just ignore totems till last gen then disappear for a few minutes while they ran around breaking all the totems

This season my lowest rank was 8 (I've de-ranked from there to ~11-12 range because all I kept getting at 8 was rank 2 swfs)

just abit of a correction here. Leader does not help you when you teamup on gens. Leader doesnt affect gen speeds.
Lol I barely play survivor with any of those perks please could you correct me with the one that does
-
I think if any the newest girl survivor will be the best for new players, why?
Her first perk (the one where you heal in the locker) will help new players learn totem spawns, as well as help them learn how and when to use a locker to hide and when not to.
Fixated- this perk is 100% geared towards new players, it gives them an awareness of the trails they are leaving for the killer to see (also the speed boost to walking is amazing)
Her last perk is quite literally the most god tier of the three when it comes to teaching new survivors. It covers three gen strat, it covers realizing when to save or to stay put. And it covers teaming up on gens (which honestly is better with leader)

Not correct. I've waited ten mins to get in a lobby, everyone is random, killer doesn't like the look of the claudette, or 2 tool.boxes, or a key, or a map, lobby dodge. Then I have to wait for another lobby. Its sorry, and it's not even uncommon. I used to dodge swf only if they were the 4 blendette squad, because this game isn't dead by camouflage, but since they brightened her up she can be seen now and I dont even dodge that.
What do you mean Im not correct, also everything after those two words had nothing to do with what I've said, but you could have miss interpreted what I had typed, here lets give a step by step analysis of what i said for clarification.
1.) You (as a survivor) hit join game now you are thrown in a lobby of 3 other survivors where you set your items up etc. And ready up
2.) I (as killer) hit join game (of course I need my offering ready by this point) Your group of four are thrown into my lobby (which is now considered part of the match at this point thus any disconnect are actual proper DC) I then have a few seconds to get my build ready while we load into the match (of course survivors would have a loading screen at this point but I as the killer can see what survivors I'm facing [because lore])
I then stated that such a system is too clunky and would not work now tell me where I am not correct?

@TrueKn1ghtmar3 I did not realise that, mostly because there was no real evidence for it. With all respect, that seems like an assumption you're making. However, I can certainly agree that toxic SWFs give all the others a bad name. But at the same time, a lot of killers tend to assume that a team of solo survivors who happen to be well-coordinated must be SWF, especially if at least one of them is toxic, when that's actually not the case far more often than most people would think.
Honestly, I think killers dodging SWF is just as unsportsmanlike as survivors dodging powerful or unfun killers, which is the point a lot of those complaining was trying to make, and it's a perfectly valid one. Obviously that's discounting a lot of the other issues with dc'ing ingame, which is why I made this thread, to brainstorm ways to bridge that gap.
The only thing that can change that is if the survivors and killer queue up separately load in then the killer gets their time to strategize but that is too clunky and would never work in of itself

Yeah they really need to make leveling up characters faster. You'd think 100,000 bloodpoints is a lot but really it's like nothing. And then commiting to prestiging a character even once? Good God, it takes forever.
1,000,000* and yes I agree it takes atleast 3 days to get to the mil cap even once and that's playing with party streamers and BBQ. sure you could do it in 10 games but that's playing perfect and getting 32k each game but any killer main can tell you starting out you aren't going to get perfect 32k games and once you get up in level and start facing all the SWFS and survivors who are ACTUALLY TRYING your chances drop even further anyways.

So this was a bit of a hot topic in this discussion
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/84270/weaponizing-dcs-a-long-term-worry#latest
and it got me thinking, maybe we ought to talk about whether it's fair for killers to be able to see survivors in the lobby and adapt their loadout accordingly. Using this information, killers are able to decide whether they want to dodge the lobby or not. All survivors have to work with is the killer's ping, which is why it's not uncommon for a survivor to get into a match, find out the killer and their build, and, being now equipped with a similar level of information to what the killer had back in the lobby, decide they don't want to play the game and disconnects.
Let me be clear: I am not condoning dodging games in any way. I think it's unsportsmanlike, and I acknowledge there is a huge difference in terms of consequences for other players between lobby dodging and dc'ing.
But there's a reason why they do it, and perhaps that reason should be addressed.
It seems fair to me that survivors and killers receive the same amount of information from the start. Allowing survivors the same amount of information the killer already has (being able to see the killer in the lobby, essentially) would most likely reduce dcs, since survivors, like killers, would just dodge a lobby they don't like the look of instead (which is not ideal but less harmful than disconnecting ingame). However, and I'm going to put this bit in bold so no one goes off on me for suggesting something so stupid, I agree that that is a ludicrous idea and hardly worth suggesting - so I'm not suggesting it.
What I am suggesting is that perhaps it would be beneficial if the survivors were also hidden from the killer in the lobby. I'm aware it wouldn't do anything to reduce dc's, but it would even out the dodging playing field a bit more so that no one could justify ingame dcs by claiming that they were only doing the survivor equivalent of a killer lobby dodge - which is not an excuse by any means, but I think it is a fair point to be made. If both parties have the same information to begin with, the implicit agreement between them when beginning a game, in my opinion, is more solidly grounded.
You do realize the only ones complaining about that are the SWF groups that get dodged cause swfs are almost 90% toxic and the 10% gets ######### on for it

That's a really cool and orginal idea.
Not "original" people have been asking for a 2vX (be it six or 8) for a while I've even came up with an idea for such a game mode called collision which features a 2v8 that is only slightly disjointed from each other
@TrueKn1ghtmar3 said:
How the game mode works is other than the ranked mode you have a separate mode called collision,
Collision would implement something many survivors and killers have wanted for a while a killer team up with more survivors.
*collision occurs with two exactly identical maps but separated by the entity except for a few spots where killers and survivors can see everyone within range (maybe killers can always see each other)
*generators are always a collision spot for a few meters surrounding
*Every so often (based on match progression gen completion or time in match) new collision spots open and or grow until both maps are fully collided for an all out hunt for the last survivors.
*survivors within collision spots can assist survivors from the other trial as long as both are within the collision zone.
Any ideas to improve and get this idea to the devs would be appreciated.

So, about №2 - in one of my last matches, after the gates became powered (but not activated) I saw a survivor in a bad spot for him and decided to bodyblock him in a corner to get some BP in sacrifice category after the Entity's countdown ends, because one of the gates was close and I wouldn't be able to sucsessfully hook him. Does it count definetly like holding the hostage or 50/50?
No it isn't, as the game progresses to an eventual end with some benefit to you

But barbecue can Ben countered by going in lockers. With ruin they have to waste time finding the totem or waste time doing the gen with good skill checks. With discordance once they find that out they either 1. Take the risk of knowing the killer knows they are there or 2. Only have 1 person do the gen which takes longer. Thrilling Tremors Ian good because incense you hook somebody you can go to a henna that’s isnt blocked off and kill em. If they find this out they can either 1. Waste time by getting off and waiting for the 16 seconds or 2. Proceed to do it and hope the killer goes after somebody else. Corrupt intervention isn’t really good because you can start chaos within the first 2 minutes before the game really starts. They will have to Ben extra stealthy or proceed to do the gen hoping you don’t go by, burn with blunts 4 gens that’s highly unlikely unless you are occupied. Even if Ruin wasn’t broke in the first 30 seconds that 30 seconds wasn’t wasted getting that totem and that can be the difference between winning and losing.
Actually although the gen gets done faster matches last longer the more survivors jump on the same gen imo

Are you really against the side that needs to have more people playing it having more incentives to balance out the matchmaking? This isn't a game where we can have a 50/50 split on the community. The killers have to be a minority for the asymmetrical aspect to work.
And yes, survivors can balance out their bloodpoints to match that of a killer but it requires a lot more spread out attention. As a killer all of your points come from doing your one and only objective. As a survivor your points are spread out amongst a multitude of different things and survial points are incredibly hard to come by outside of outright leaving.
Note that I'm looking at this purely from an "incentive to play" perspective. I tend to prefer playing killer myself just for the playstyle but tend to play a lot of survivor just because the matchmaking is faster. Incentivising more people to play means more survivors to go against the minority killer. If you perfectly balance incentives then there will be an equal (relatively speaking) number of players on both sides and this is BAD for an ASYMMETRICAL game.
I'll never understand why other killers hate the idea of survivors getting a few more bloodpoints when it's obviously beneficial to the games health.
The reason It is spread out as such is because survivors have more than one objective to BALANCE out the fact there are four survivors and completing even a little of each of these creates games where both killers and survivors have the chance to gain the max amounts of points that was my only point.
-
@Ark_the_Bonsai said:
A big part of it is also disproportionate bloodpoints. Even if you lose as killer you still get a ######### ton of bp compared to a solid survivor game meaning that more people will turn to killer to fight the grind. Because this is an asymmetrical game, having more people swap to the "power" role and not the "numbers" role will lead to less games for multiple people in the power role.
Note that this will pretty much always be a problem with any asymmetrical game and won't be fixed completely by adding more bp to survs or whatever. There's always going to be a large number who want to play more than just survivor (there's a whole other half of the game to explore) so there's always going to be lobby issues that a symmetrical game wouldn't have to worry about.
Survivors can easily get as much if not more blood points than a killer, the only reason they don't is
1. They turn into Bob the builder and friends and focus only on 1/4 categories
2. Because of 1 killers normally have to tunnel someone out of the game even further reducing the BP that survivor would have gained
Now if these two points in any way were addressed then survivors would get more BP without the devs boosting their gains to be at greater potential than the killer
-
I normally just report them through the medium of message, say they message me on PS4 well your harassment just lost you that nice psn account. If more people did this then I believe toxicity would go down substantially
-
@rha said:
It has been my opinion for awhile that the issue with SWF is not so much voice comms (yeah it does give some advantage, won’t deny) but the real SWF power is that they can straight up ignore the game‘s ranking and matchmaking systems that don’t work all too well and build a team of four equally strong players.
So whenever someone is asking me what the best buff for solo players would be, I usually say that a meaningful ranking and matchmaking system is all I would want. Of course it’s not going to happen if the devs consider a built-in Kindred „too strong“ because matching up a team of the same skill level is imho potentially even stronger.
The most fun and most memorable moments in this game I had in solo queue with solo teammates that were about my level where people almost reach each others thoughts and coordinate amazingly well without comms. This happened way too rarely though so I prefer playing killer now. It’s never as rewarding (except maybe some Huntress snipes) but also never as frustrating as the vast majority of solo matches.
I see it often when watching streamers play solo queue and they have nothing but terrible games that are painful to watch. Then they play SWF with their viewers, no voice comms, no coordination, but just selected experienced players who are good at observing what is going on and making decisions, and it’s like they’re suddenly playing a completely different game.
Lol killer is litterally the lowest ring of hell, honestly I have more fun playing solo survivor
-
I never get those kinds of survivors, like I just got a 3M SWF they let me get 5 stacks of devour hope (its totem was out in the open and I had nothing protecting it). I knocked down the obv. Leader of the group which was a Claudette in P3 (3 stacks at that point and 2 others on hook close to each other) on my way to the hook with claud 4th stack drops, so I dropped her and waited for 5 (seconds later) killed her and rest of the match lasted maybe 1min. They proceeded to tell me how much trash I am harrassing me (lol the claud and one other in the group was 9-8 ranks above my killer they used their friends rank to get in my lobby) long story short I stomped them for their error and they got report for being so salty remember there are consequences for ones actions hang in there and you can learn to punish those that abuse match making

Derp, what are you talking about? You stated in your first reply that Babysitter does not discourage tunneling. The reason why I agreed with you is because I consider tunneling when the killer goes after the unhooked survivor right after they get unhooked. Babysitter doesn't help with that but instead helps the unhooked survivor escape and highlights the rescuer, discouraging the killer from targeting them. Why are you trying to correct me after I agreed with your first criticism?
The Bond versus Better Together debate does not matter. I just stated in my original post that I do not think that Better Together is a strong perk because I prefer ones that already exist. Why are you so fixated on proving me wrong on a point that does not really matter?
On the topic regarding Fixated, I still do not see how a small increase to walking speed and the ability to see your scratch marks will significantly help in a chase. It improves the survivor's chances, but there are so many better perks for a survivor to take instead of Fixated. On a good note, I can understand your comparison to Windows of Opportunity more.
I get what you are saying about Inner Strength. I do not think that it synergizes well with Quick and Quiet or Head On because they both work best in a chase. You are right about the speculation, but the likeness of it happening is the reason why I pointed it out. I also mentioned Iron Maiden and Hex: Thrill of the Hunt because they help the killer know where the survivor is if they try and use Inner Strength.
I'm sorry if this post sounds defensive or somehow aggressive, but I am just really fed up with the Dbd forums and the community. It's annoying to try and help others through steam discussions or the Dbd forums and end up receiving aggressive responses. The conversation goes from a discussion to a contest of who can prove the other person wrong. It's not specifically this thread, but a combination of different examples, like having random people commenting on my steam profile about how I am wrong about a topic. How do other people deal with the toxicity of this community?
A Mori or a harrassment report either work and if one doesn't I'll use the other that's how I deal with this community

There is no way the entity isn't using it's hive mind to control the Demo otherwise it would just kill and eat people (probably try to go back to the U/D to make babies out of the survivors)

In Quentin's lore he was being chased by Freddy and was pulled along with Freddy similar probably happened with those two

I can answer this.
Hag- She basically made a deal with the Entity when she was on her last legs, deliriously drawing the symbols taught to her before a dark hunger rose inside her. She plays by the rules because she is basically offered a chance to sate her endless hunger.
Huntress- She doesn't know anything else but killing. One of her perks also allows for her to break free of the Entity momentarily and what does she do? Continue hunting survivors.
Nightmare- He lives for killing and wants vengeance against Quinten. Even in his Bio it states he doesn't care who he kills anymore, new people will become his favorite.
Pig- She sees being in the Fog as a second chance for herself.
Clown- He was a killer long before he entered the Fog. And the horse you see in Father Campbell's chapel was Clown's reward for going willingly.
Spirit- Her rage made the Entity change her mind about taking Rin's father, and taking her. Promising her that she'll have her vengeance. That is the only reason she is staying there willingly.
Legion- I'm guessing Frank only agreed due to being able to be with his friends.
Plague- In a way she was tricked or something I guess. As she was basically dead before she was nabbed.
Ghost Face- He's basically evil Spider-Man. And when he appeared in the Fog he just smiled under his mask.
Note:These killers also have no signs of physical torture from the Entity. And none of them needed to be persuaded by her to do her bidding. Every other killer had been tortured in some way, be it mentally or physically. The most extreme examples being the Trapper and the Doctor.
A little more on ghost face, I know the reason he smiled, it wasn't about the killing for him no it was about people seeing the killing he did, that was what he was after. But if you're in a cut-off dimension then that would mean no one could see... Unless he already knew where he was because the events of DBD were also chronicled in his universe in some way be it a series, novel, comic, etc. But he knew people would see what he did

So we've all seen plenty of threads on here from killer mains talking about how when they go up against a good SWF group, they have to bring ruin, or pop goes the weasel, or noed, and play hard just to get a 2k because the SWF is popping gens like no tomorrow.
Here's the thing.
- The devs have specifically balanced the game that the average round should be about 2 kills and 2 escapes, so if sweaty high rank killers are getting 2k against sweaty high rank SWF, that's balanced.
- When high rank killers go sweaty and only get 2k against sweaty SWF... that means those SWF went sweaty and only had two escapes. It's not a reason to nerf survivors just because killers had to play sweaty against sweaty SWF.
- At high ranks in any videogame, people are a lot more skilled than low ranks. Go play COD at level 50 vs level 10, it's different. Same on Rainbow Six Siege.
- Killer mains. This isn't Resident Evil 4 on ultra hard. If you're getting 4k's a lot, that either means you're really good, or up against crappy survivors, or the game is unbalanced. It also means you're killing the game and contributing to long killer que times. When 1 killer gets a 4k, that means 4 survivor players lost and feel cruddy. 4k's are not a sellable game model. And not only are there TONS of addictive online games, DBD is not an A list game. It's has a fair share of bugs and not amazing graphics. I'm sure the Devs have done their best on the budget, but the gameplay is limited and the graphics are xbox 360 level at best. You really think if killers are getting a lot of 4ks, that people will keep playing survivor just to play and lose so you can win?
- This only applies to a few killer mains who stand out like spotlights on forums and make them all look bad--You're not the "power role" this is not a BDSM relationship with you as a dom, you're not here to "punish the cancer that is SWF" or "want to make them fear you and picture their hope dropping and becoming despair." GET THERAPY YOU DEMENTED FREAKS.
I already had therapy once to deal with my constant nightmares when I was younger, this all put me in a bad place even after it so I'mma say no and stay a demented freak

I was having fun for, like, the past 4 hours until this happened. Twice in a row. Almost makes me think there's some bs hidden mmr going on. This kind of bs is what makes me stop wanting to play fairly and just tunnel the ######### out of any swf I encounter.
Tunneling is counter productive at your level (unless you can get them to drop a pallet so you can insta saw it) anyone more experienced than you will just try to get you in a loop and waste your time, with an instant down you need to apply pressure where you can the gens and open places if someone runs for a loop and you can't either immediately saw them or atleast get an m1 or break that pallet apply pressure else where tunnel only if they are weak.
