Usually from PTB to live, you'll see minor tweaks. Not to say that something can't get major changes, but it hasn't happened with previous chapters. Typically the larger changes that take more time to implement would come in a mid-chapter patch.

I never dodge anything, so I've just learned to counter it.
At most I will average 3 kills on legion, there's no way you average 4 kills on him unless you're not in red ranks or spam purple addons. Survs already figured out how to play vs him it seems.
There was no mention of legion in the OP.

Once again, this applies to holding the game hostage, not to killing someone on the hook.MusicalMoore6 said:It is actually reportable .not_queen referenced it in one of the last live streams .Body Blocking by the killer (ie the basement) for an extended period of time is reportable and should be. It is NOT camping .It's taking the game hostage. Just as survivors do when they use urban evasion around the map with both doors open and the hatch open .if you're ever body blocked and unable to attempt to play the game it's reportble .
Source: I'm one of the guys doing the banning. -
To clarify: Keeping people out is camping, because the killer is just standing there to prevent an unhook. Camping is not bannable. In a minute or two, you'll bleed out and be sacrificed.
If you were in the basement and not hooked, that would be different. That would mean that the killer is holding the game hostage.
-
No. What they're doing is essentially camping, which is not against the rules.
-
It's not very common, but it does happen. Send a ticket to https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us and they should be able to help you out.

A console optimization update (would probably optimize things on PC as well) is on the way. I can't confirm whether or not it's going to be included in the same update as the next chapter, unfortunately.
-
It would be neat. It's certainly possible, as we've seen in the Red Forest, although performance is always a concern. Too much flashy stuff going on at once is likely going to cause performance issues on lower end systems. Animating all the corn in a map so it reacts to the wind, for example, might be a little much.
I do think it could add a bit of variety to the game though. A change of scenery can be refreshing.
-
Well that escalated quickly. Move along, nothing to see here.

Is the Friday after Canadian Thanksgiving also a huge holiday celebrating the miracle of commerce called Black Friday?Kinda'. We have Black Friday on the same day as the American Black Friday, except ours is like getting 10% off stuff nobody wants anyway, or a decent deal on one thing you actually do.
Also that one thing you actually want only had five in stock to begin with and sold out within the first ten minutes because literally everyone else in the country is fighting (politely) over the one good deal.
Except for Dead by Daylight, of course, which is 50% right now and totally in stock!

-
Because Thanksgiving was last month, silly.
But beyond that, between Halloween and Christmas, Q4 is already packed with events. -

Only thing I would like to see changed is the RNG. Rather than having traps be total luck where you can wiggle out on your first try or spend a whole minute trying to get out, I'd prefer it were just a set time so you're not at the mercy of luck.
The thing is, while placing around 5 good traps the gens are starting to pop. If you verse really optimal genrushers you end up with 5 traps placed and 1 gen left
You would ideally be patrolling as you collect and set up traps though, not just walking back and forth without applying any pressure. Collecting and setting a trap nearby only takes ~5 seconds.

It's all counted the same. You'd only get banned if you did it excessively in a month, not for leaving a single match because you were stuck somewhere or not having fun.PolarBear said:@Gay Myers (Luzi) said:
No. Every ragequit is logged in the backend. There is no need to report it.How do you define a ragequit? Is it just quitting the match at any point? Can you quit a match without receiving a penalty if the killer is holding the game hostage or vice versa?
-
I'm pretty sure this won't work. There was a change a long time ago that made you immune to traps for a second when you escaped the killer's grasp. It was changed because people were doing exactly that, but by stepping in their own trap to drop a survivor into a second trap repeatedly to farm points.
So if it does work, that sounds like a bug. -
It'll come out after the last one.
Huge leak, call the police! -
Would probably be a little silly, since there's a lot of things that weren't designed with that in mind.

No, that's just me IRL.
For real though, that's just the Warrior from Gauntlet Legends. I had a friend draw it for a me a couple years back, and I've been using variations of it ever since. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I don't believe a Gaunlet Legends crossover is in the works.
-
If you just remove the hatch, you'll end up with that last survivor hiding for the next half an hour because touching generators is a death sentence. The killer will hear that they've progressed on a generator, know they're close, and then check the surrounding area.
It's not a great mechanic currently, but removing it isn't going to make it any better.
-
The one massive flaw in that idea: People will just do what the did in the beta.
You'd just notice a lot of survivors joining lobbies, backing out and re-queuing until they get into a lobby with their friends to circumvent the penalty, since the game would then be unable to detect if they're a group or not. And all the while, you would have killers sitting their watching the Musical Chairs World Championship, as one solo survivor sits there in their lobby legitimately playing the game as one four man squad after another joins, notices there's someone else in the lobby, and leaves.
This is why I feel it's better to bring solo survivors up to a SWF level and then balance around that.

It does not matter. If you're wiggling, you're wiggling at max speed. It's a set rate, you can't go faster.
The only time it goes slower is if you do it slow enough that your character physically stops wiggling, as in you're doing it so slow that the bar doesn't increase at all.
-
If someone disconnects excessively, chances are they will be banned. The game automatically flags and bans anyone that disconnects beyond a certain threshold in a given month. If they're disconnecting over petty things like going down, I'm willing to bet they'll be on the next ban list. DC bans start at a week and escalate up to permanent (1w > 2w > 4w > permanent).
I think deranking them would be counter productive, as some of them want to be lower ranks to play against low ranked killers/survivors so they can BM and feel like they're good at the game. Banning them outright would also be a little much because you can never tell when someone needs to legitimately DC. For example, the game bugs out and you get stuck somewhere where the killer can't kill you and you can't escape, or someone is griefing or cheating and you just don't want to stick around for it. More importantly, that would mean that those who play the game more would be punished harder because they're bound to run into those situations eventually (if you play ten matches a month, no big deal, but if you play a hundred matches a month, your chances of running into something like that at some point are ten times higher).
-
I'm okay with the chase requirement, but I do think it would be nice if it had a couple seconds of slack after breaking a chase to activate (~3 seconds or so). That way it would be a little more consistent and still activate even if the chase happened to break a split second before.
-
It's just random. Captain obvious award goes to me.
The game does not take realms into consideration anymore. This was changed a long time ago (after Last Breath/Halloween, I believe) because realms with only one map would get picked as much as all the different maps of another realm combined. While the change of scenery is nice at first, it quickly loses its flair when you find yourself playing on the same few maps over and over while you barely see the many other maps available. Individual maps typically play very differently because of the way they're laid out, their unique locations, etc. The Asylum and the Chapel, for example, share tile sets but play completely differently.
In simple terms, once you've played Haddonfield in nine out of your ten games, you want to get off Mr. Bones' Wild Ride.
So nowadays, it just picks a map, and it does not care about realms. Random is still random though, so sometimes you'll get the same few maps back to back, and other times it'll be different every time.

They are not valid proof. They haven't been for a very long time.
You do not need to submit any additional proof for chat related offenses though. Just report it in game and the log will be saved for us to review. The support tickets are just for things that could need additional evidence, like if someone is griefing or cheating.
So I'm understanding it correctly that everything in the post game chat will be saved if someone sends a report?
Btw, where exactly is the line between beeing just a dick and crossing it to get banned?
For example saying these things like "ez noob, u suck git gud, trashmates, trash killer" etc are alright?Correct.
Also, the line is when it goes from typical trash talking to excessive insults. We wouldn't ban for the examples you listed. Either when they just don't stop throwing insults out there, or when they take it too far (racist comments, threats, etc.) Basically if you're ever unsure and you feel like someone's going too far, you can report them and we'll take a look.

Although I can't see much being down about lag switching as they mentioned on their stream yesterday that lag switching is dealt with via EAC if caught, which is independent of the Devs.
Good luck.
We review them, no worries. If you've got a video to back it up and you reported them in game, we'll gladly take a look. The anti-cheat will catch most people, but it's always an ongoing thing. Once it's updated to catch new methods, it's only a matter of time before someone finds a way around it.

NOED wasn't really buffed. Tier 3, the one most people are going to have and the most powerful tier, remains unchanged. It has always been a good perk.
The lower tiers might see more use because they're a decent use for a perk slot as you're leveling up a new killer, but it's no more powerful than a tier 3 version.
If you're having trouble with NOED, I would suggest cleansing totems before powering generator. Cleanse 5 and it'll never activate. You have the power to counter it. -
I wouldn't mind it. A group can very easily just call out how many totems they cleansed anyway, so it wouldn't really make a difference to SWF groups and would only bring solo players a tiny bit closer.

Rocket League is also way larger in terms of player base and their dedicated servers are all over the place and it's also VAC secured. They've got multiple server locations all over the world since they can afford it which is something most people don't consider.
Server locations isn't typically an issue. Most game developers do not host their own servers but rather rent them from other providers that have many locations around the world already (Amazon, for example).
The big difference is the way the game interprets and compensates for lag. This varies from game to game.
Something like Battlefield keeps it somewhere around the middle. Stuff is handled on the server side rather than on the shooter's or shootee's side, meaning that it doesn't give either side the benefit of the doubt and splits the difference. You can hit people around corners, but nobody gets preference. You don't get an advantage by having high ping.
Then there's games like Overwatch that'll bias detection one way or the other. In that particular case, it'll favour the shooter. If you hit someone on your end, it'll hit them on their end. This will mean that it feels more solid for you, but there may be more delay on their end (you'll get shot behind walls more, and you'll also see more kill trades for example).
There's also a ton of hidden stuff usually going on and little tricks the game can use to predict movements and whatnot to mitigate the effects, but it's not always perfect. You can get something that feels pretty solid on both ends, but it's a ton of work to do it right. Not going to comment on Rocket League as I haven't had a chance to play it (it's stuck in my backlog purgatory).

Seriously? I cant believe that. I get reported nearly 5 times per day just for playing good and another 10 times if I troll. And that's only the numbers I know of people telling me that they report me. I don't want to know the number of people reporting me without telling me. And I'm not the only person.
I cant imagine that an actual person is sitting there and goes through all reports of the same person over and over againThere's a team of six of us ACMs going through reports. It's very easy to tell which reports are false or not bannable offenses and those are discarded right away, so false reports do not slow us down much.

I can dream... Ive been looking for a teaser but havent had any luck. I think theyll start teasing after Kate's winter skin comes out. But who knows?!Not exactly. That's chapter 11. Shattered Bloodline was chapter 9, so the "really old" one isn't the next chapter, but rather the one after that.

Console bans are on the way. Can't give an exact ETA just yet, but they should be in soon.
It's very unfortunate to hear that people are doing that. We would absolutely step in where necessary. We do not tolerate DDoS real life threats, and we will enforce the console versions of the game the same way as PC as soon as possible.
Until then, please be sure to report those people to the Xbox team as well as in-game. They will be able to take immediate action against them, and even though we do not have console bans of our own just yet, your report will be saved and we will review it at a later date.

It comes out after the last one. (Huge leak, please don't tell on me.)
Sometime this winter.
That's about it. -
Dedicated servers do not magically fix everything. Lag in particular is not going away, it would likely be worse with dedicated servers.
To give an example, you mentioned getting hit when the killer is far away. Right now:
- Game sends your data to the killer (slight delay)
- Killer recieved that data. If they register a hit, the game sends data back to you to register the hit on your end (slight delay again)
That's basically it currently, massively simplified of course. With dedicated servers however:
- Game sends your data to the server (slight delay)
- Server sends your data to the killer (another slight delay)
- Killer receives your data. If they register a hit, the killer sends that data to the server. (Another delay)
- Server sends that data to you to register a hit on your end. (A fourth delay)
So in that case, you're going to have even more lag on hits. Servers aren't magic, it takes time for your data to physically travel between two places. Adding extra steps to that process increases that delay. Even games with dedicated servers have these issues. You'll notice it particularly with shooters where you could get shot well after you went behind a wall on your end.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, there's a lot more reasons why it's not a clear choice. -

Couple things to keep in mind about making generators actually slower with multiple people:- Nobody would work on them together. If you see another survivor, you'd just leave an go to a different one.
- New players would not understand this, it's counter intuitive. Veteran players would get mad that some new player came along and slowed down their generator, maybe even think they're griefing.
- With everyone working on different generators, they're working at maximum efficiency.
- With everyone working on different generators, you cannot apply pressure. If you disrupt a generator with three survivors on it, you stopped three people from progressing. If you stop a generator with one person on it, there's still three people working on generators (at max efficiency).
Think there'll be a rework of the killer offering, "Shroud of Separation"? Cause it like literally gives the survs a bonus in efficiency, lol.
The upside is secretly making the survivors play super carefully because they think you have a mori.
