REMOVE THE HATCH

I'm sick of teammates not doing gens, not doing chases, not going for the unhook and just waiting for everyone else to accomplish 2 gens and die, so they can escape through the hatch, it's toxic and not fun.

If you can't be a good teammate and contribute towards winning you deserve to lose and the hatch existing makes this not the case.

The killer should be able to close the Hatch and get it stuck closed. However the survivor should be able to open it in a 10 second animation (Where the survivor struggles to get the Hatch unstuck) but stopping the action resets the progress to opening the hatch just like cleaning totems.
  • See those a good balance shutting it but also being able to reopen it

Wouldn't that basically ensure the last survivors death?
What possible play could a survivor make to pry a killer away from the hatch for more than 10 seconds short of leaving, and being tunneled mercilessly?
  • Being selfish to win is part of the game's design.
There's nothing stopping people from hiding in lockers all day till 5 gens are completed.

    The joy of playing solo.

I really think survivors should have a second option like doing all the totems or just needing 3 gens done so that one random exit gate needs to be powered.

What a stupid thing to say, if you don't care about this game being fun and balanced don't even bother posting.

"Wah wah! I had a bad game. I got caught and the other guy didn't save me. Remove an entire feature of the game to compensate for the fact that I'm still salty."
You think I'm the one that doesn't care about balance? What a joke.

The trick is not hiding in the same locker. And working with the killer is bannable. Being lazy or selfish isn't.

Make Remember Me effect that hatch opening and you got a deal lol

    He has a point though.
And you know, the sad part is that all this "optimal play" only become a thing with SWF.
Back in the old days of DBD when SWF didnt "abuse" voice comms we died a lot more even though we had infinite loops, but it was still more enjoyable than the gameplay right now.

If you think being selfish to win is a good game design for a team and nothing stopping people from hiding in lockers the entire game is fun than you are in fact the joke.

  • If you just remove the hatch, you'll end up with that last survivor hiding for the next half an hour because touching generators is a death sentence. The killer will hear that they've progressed on a generator, know they're close, and then check the surrounding area.

It's not a great mechanic currently, but removing it isn't going to make it any better.

Agreed, removing the hatch creates an even bigger & more annoying problem.
The devs have said they're working on it (you probably know more, if there is more to know) hopefully in the next PTB we will see something,

  • I believe an easier solution would be for the survivor to receive the Exposed Effect as soon as you're within the noise perimeter of the the Hatch.

  • Equip Bond. Get killer's attention. Run to bad survivor guy. Now they die and you hatch. Is more fun?

  • removing the hatch means all the survs will QQ to death and there are more survs than killers

and money talks, so devs wont move a bloody finger lol

  • If they remove the hatch or alter it so that it makes the game take longer, they better put in a damn Concede button because I'm not doing 40 minute games.

You could just go do gens?
Oh wait, your a killer main, and you think your entitled for 4 kills.

I wrote that as someone that plays mostly killer.

this would only work/be okay if the killer was not able to see the hatch and camp it; and if you get it opened there shouldnt be the option to pull the survivor out of the hatch once its open you escape

Well, the scenario seems to require the killer finding the hatch, and closing it.

Now that the hatch is closed for a minimum of 10 seconds, and they likely found it, and closed it with the survivor in view, they're basically free to tunnel the last guy to death.
