Totems should respawn. Or light a dull totem after X seconds/minutes.

Campers only get fed by Solos or SWFs not on comms(which is rare)

There needs to be anti slugging perks imo since apparently slugging is the meta at higher ranks. You have next to no choice but to take Unbreakable every single game if you play solo. Because either your team will sandbag you for hook points(no one cares about safe unhooks unless they're running Deliverance) or if the hatch would be aval, you're getting slugged and possibly camped on the ground for the rest of the game.

Campers get fed by all types of Survivors, especially SWF on comms.

Why do you need more than Unbreakable? Combine it with Self Care and you're good to go.

I'm aware. Just silly that their brand new Paid DLC is lacking an intended feature and they can't fix that even after a PTB. people have known for a little while.

Clown was also paid, and before Shattered Bloodlines. Or did you forget?

    It´s a window, not a impenetrable wall.

not even close love how the hammer isnt even through the window. That's typical anything for a free easy hit

Seems to me that the Killer swung in a 180º radius, and the animation just couldn't keep up. Combine that with latency, and you have some weird-looking hits. However, I would have to test this hypothesis to be sure.

I just want a way to do so without having to be a bad teammate at the same time. There should be a way to opt out of ranked play.

There is no option to derank, for obvious reasons. Either you DC like an #########, suicide on the hook like an #########, or do nothing like an #########.

So you say that if the devs got scammed, it's their own fault, but you also say that the scammer is the one at fault and that blaming the person who got scammed is a "value reversion"? Doublethink much?

Not when you already paid for the product.
And while you're not wrong, we are talking about BHVR.
I'm gonna admit that if it was another company i would have been more tolerant.

They dared act all smug at first, knowing their history.

I personally can't stand ######### behaviours like that to paying customers.

PS: Your generation is just as bad as any other. Stop pretending you're special.

Where did i said that mine was better ?

I'm just pointing how childish and entitled this particular one is.

    But nice try.

I already chastised them for their behavior, but your bias is clear - you literally say that someone being scammed is not to blame, but would blame the devs if they got scammed.
In reality, they're not to blame if the company they asked to make the masks didn't deliver on their promises any more than a host is to blame if the catering service ######### up.

Your generation is just as entitled and childish, whatever it is, because all generations are more or less the same. Ageism dates back to the beginning of civilization.

I'm sorry but when i spend £50.00 of my money and not receive the product that is now 5 soon to be 6 MONTHS late I'm gonna be a little bit entitled to want AT LEAST some kind of idea as to where the product is.

If you live outside of Germany (where the store is based) it's almost impossible to get an answer from this store. CLEARLY BHVR who was working WITH them on these masks could have asked them for answers where they could then relay answers back to the community via Q&A videos. But they didn't. So yes, they did screw up. They should have been WAY more transparent with the community.

They've only just waited until a few days ago to send a mass apology email to everyone. for a product that will eventually be 6 months late, and wanting to know where it is makes people entitled? Jesus.

I was only addressing his ageism in general terms. In this case, I've already expressed my view.

  • Regardless of your definition, both are still sanctioned strategies. Definitions don't really matter when the complaints themselves are based upon a faulty premise - that the Killer isn't/shouldn't be allowed to do those things.

  • @redsopine1 said:
Ok then dont get mad at the killer get mad at over enthusiastic players going for a hook save I mean they couldn't wait to see if someone else gets hurt before saving so u blame a killer for shooting fish in a barrel

I don't get mad at the Killer for defending the hook when all the other Survivors are swarming around like vultures. Camping is a Survivor-created problem with a Survivor solution. The problem is that most Survivors are not willing to use that solution because all they want is to be able to ignore the Killer's presence.

  • To be clear: camping pays off more often than not, but it's a strategy that puts all the power in the hands of the other team (Survivors), so it's inherently a bad strategy. The only reason it works is because of Survivors.

  • @redsopine1 said:
And how manytines was you rushed on the hook in these games?

Too many to count. Doesn't change the fact that camping is inherently the second worst strategy in existence, if the Survivors know what they're doing.

  • @redsopine1 said:
I think you just had a bad game against a try hard killer a fee times it can Happen

Trying so hard, he's using the second least effective strategy in existence, if the Survivors play smart.

Maybe stop being the first one caught.

even if im the second or third it happens.

By the time the Killer catches the second person, all generators should've been repaired already and you should be walking out without a care in the world.

  • It's simply not feasible to ban voice comms. Steam itself provides voice comms.

  • @brokedownpalace said:
I feel like survivor footsteps are way too loud when I'm playing survivor. They seem fine as killer (maybe a little quiet), but as survivor I always feel like another survivor or a stealth killer is right behind me so I spin my camera around looking for them just to realize it's my own footsteps.

Thank god, I thought I was the only one. :p

  • The problem with this statement is that Survivors don't like to play against the same Killers over and over again any more than Killers like to play the same characters over and over again.

  • @DexyIV said:
Nah. This would make an already tunneling meta even worse. Killers would just go after one person who would become more vulnerable with each hook (since the vault speed would be reduced as well). ESPECIALLY if it were to be just an innate feature. Sloppy Butcher and slugging during the mid game with Thanatophobia is a perfectly good combination imo. I see no reason to change it

So it's a perfect buff. Right now hooks are mostly pointless except for the third.

Apologies you misunderstand the traps need to be removed via box that is what I mean by make the unremovable.

  • @Mikey11268 said:
Yes as in they remain completely inactive and unremovable till all gens have finished.

Then what's the point of them? Removing them takes almost no time.

  • @Vietfox said:
In all my history in dbd as a killer has showed me that most of the survivors try to hide instead of running towards you, and even pro death squads have at most 2 good loopers who try to taunt the killer while the others do the gens.
Being reckless as a survivor can lead into a death BUT can also lead into a win sometimes. That and the fact that some survivors rather try to save their teammates even if they die than escaping doesn't mean there are many safety nets, if there were, it would usually end up in a win, and it's quite the opposite.

In all my history in DbD playing both sides, 9 times out of 10 I'm followed to the hook, and they often unhook before I've had enough time to leave the area (or if I was the one hooked, before the Killer has had a chance to leave), then accuse me (or the Killer) of camping.

There are enough safety nets that they feel confident in being near the guy who's supposed to crush them 1v1. Just because they die afterward doesn't mean there isn't a problem. You need to look beyond success rates and think about the things people do and why they do those things.

If I may disagree, Self Care is only a symptom of the issue, which is that hits don't matter in the long term when you can heal an unlimited number of times without any consequence.

how is this disagreeing? if anything you are only proving my point even further. its crutch to a point people dont care at all when they get hit. your point isnt invalid. self care only makes it worse(getting hit and not caring)

Because you're putting all the blame on Self Care when in fact, the problem is the whole healing mechanic.

It won't work for a few reasons.

One, they never installed monitors on their servers which is why SWF groups have to regroup when dodged. Without these monitors in place, the system cannot save a lobby before migrating it to another host.

Two, if it migrates to a survivor and that survivor dies in the match and leaves, the game ends for everybody. This is why it's set up the way it is.

And this is why we need dedicated servers. I know Free WoW Servers with dedicated servers with twice DBD's Max Overall Pbase. Lol they dont have any excuses.

Game is made with P2P in mind, meaning all the netcode relies on P2P. Neither the devs nor their publisher expected the game to be the success it's been, so they had to cut costs where they could.

I was talking about @SenzuDuck comment and people blaming mechanics instead of themselves.
Nothing to argue about people losing because of their recklessness.

I think there is something to say, which is that Survivors play recklessly because they feel safe, resulting in a lot of undeserved wins for Killers (those who tough it out and exploit their recklessness, that is). And why are they reckless? Because they have too many safety nets. Research has shown that people unconsciously behave more recklessly when they feel safe. To me, that shows there's a problem with the game.

  • @TheHourMan said:
I mean, he's not wrong though. "Git gud" is advice that would solve the majority of complaints on this forum

The problem is that I get many undeserved wins as Killer and undeserved escapes as Survivor because the game is tilted in their favor to the point that they feel perfectly confident trolling around the Killer, and Killers either AFK or rage quit mid-trial. "Git gud" would be sound advice if the game were balanced, but it's not balanced at all. Any unbiased observer will tell you that.

  • @scerckan said:
Hold on i think that guy you camped to death has something to say

  • @Vietfox said:
Maybe generalizing wasn't right but it's true that some players, doesn't matter what they main or what game they play, blame the mechanics instead of their own mistakes when said mechanics are actually fine.
Sometimes people need to tell the difference.

If you were to read my comment, you'd see that I'm blaming the Survivors for some of my wins as Killer, instead of my losses. I've had more than one trial that should've ended in a 1k instead end in a 3k or even a 4k thanks to the Survivors' recklessness.

  • The wiki (deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com) should have a full guide on rank, FYI. You don't need to figure it out.

That's why the devs need to make Killers absolutely devastating. If they force Survivors to play better by punishing bad plays, then we won't have such wins handed to us.

Or killers could just play better and stop whining. It's so funny to me how it's "Survivors should play better" when in reality it's usually just poor killers that aren't that good and blame mechanics instead of themselves.

    "Camper."

Allowed for a basement unhook after the gates were already powered by leaving to check one gate. I returned to check on the other one (basement was on the way).
    "Camper."
At least the guy who unhooked realized it was a stupid complaint.

Barely had time to hook someone before three Survivors swarmed the hook. I had MYC equipped and was looking forward to leaving ASAP, but, unfortunately, I was forced to camp.

Easy to hit the hedges, I think.

  • @Peasant said:
Weird, I play both and there will be times where a Doctor tunnels me and my conscious thinks ", Come on man, I am a Doctor main too." Of course, that is immediately followed by the incredibly obvious realization that they're doing nothing wrong and just actually being a killer.

I feel the same way. Playing both sides gives one some much-needed perspective.

  • @Peasant said:
Why not? If survivors stick around doesn't that increase your chances of getting a 4k?

Not once both doors are open, no. At that point, they're needlessly prolonging the trial by sticking around.

  • This was in the base game and Survivors used to needlessly stick around to farm points. I don't want it back.

  • I apologize for bringing up Trump, now please stay on topic.

  • Ignore them. You might as well ask a gazelle what it thinks of the lion.

  • It's actually around 2 seconds with Brutal Strength 3, but yes, the Killer loses a bigger chunk of time than that because the Survivor can keep moving. Regrettably, as this is a bug that negatively affects Survivors, it'll be fixed pretty soon.

  • Yes, I would like this QoL change to make body blocking fairer.

Yeah, I been in dying state on my third hook multiple amount of times and was able to find the hatch. If the killer wouldn't have slugged me, I would've been sacrificed. I even use Tenacity and it's a great perk for finding the hatch while in dying state. Sometimes the killer loses me and I'm able to get back up! :)

To each their own, I suppose... I don't even struggle when the Killer has put everyone in the dying state. He deserves the win at that point, and I really don't want to stick around for 4 minutes.

Wrong. It's bugged. It only happens during self-unhooks, likely because of the different animation. During normal unhooks, it works just fine.

That's a lot of "bug" hindering killer this patch.

Knowing the past, and also the rampant complaints about "respect mah 4% :'o " , i don't trust them anymore for this kind of "details".

Given their propensity to introduce bugs, thanks largely to spaghetti code, I'd sooner believe it's a bug than an intentional buff.
