I’d much prefer a simpler yet more powerful strategic change.
Have it do just one thing: remove the reset feature when all pools are corrupted.
That way Plague can’t be screwed over by not having Corrupt Pools where she wants them, or get all survivors broken again but they can’t cleanse because there are no more clean pools.
The thing is, personally I don’t see BHVR wanting to make it so that the survivors simply cannot cleanse if you so choose, I’m trying to make it so that the Ultra rare is more powerful but it stays within the realm of things BHVR might consider. I could be wrong about them but I feel that is the way they want Plague to be: that you can always cleanse if you want to.
I still like your idea though
-
When a survivor finishes a gen you get corrupt purge but it has tremendously decreased time and you move moderately slower while you have it charged
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Too many downsides.
And the one “upside” it provides isn’t one at all.
It’s extremely rare to actually get use of the Corrupt Purge you automatically get at the repair of a gen, both for the reason that the duration is just too short to find anyone, or you may not exactly be in a chase at the time.
I’d love to see it changed completely so it does only one simple thing:
No pool reset if the survivors use them all up. So that Plague could either:
a) not use any fountains at all, get all survivors broken, keep them one hit down for the entirety of the remainder of the trial. Or...
b) has the flexibility to use any Corrupted Pool when she chooses instead of being screwed over by the reset if the intent was to try and control which pools remained Corrupted because of their placement in the map.
That’s not bad actually, I could get behind that idea, it would be a hell of a lot better than what it currently is

You're trying to apply logic to something that isn't logical. The downsides to Iridescent Seal are ridiculous. It basically gives you an unusable version of Corrupt Purge equivalent to just getting it twice normally. As an ultra-rare add-on. Sure, if the stars align and you're in a chase, have line of sight on a survivor, and a generator pops, you can get an easy hit, but you're better off just bringing a better add-on. Like....I could use an ultra-rare to have a garbage version of Corrupt Purge 5 times whenever survivors complete a gen, or I can bring an apple which guarantees me the normal, good version of Corrupt Purge at the time of my choosing.
I just didn’t want to sound like I was whining but clearly everyone agrees so that’s cool and yes your post is my thoughts exactly
-
Well I’m glad it’s not just me then, yeah I like the plague how she is it’s just a couple of her add one, particularly this one, leave something to be desired

Get 10 merciless killer victories with Leatherface without resorting to the basement.

Lol, when the question came up about them buffing more killer powers, I was thinking “please say the L word please say the L word” and well they did.

What did they say? I missed the stream.
It wasn’t a huge amount but basically they said that they were looking at making his saw potentially activate as soon as the meter is full.
It is a good start but I am more hopeful because they said they have seen that LF has been brought up A LOT
-
Can you give any information on plans for Leatherface in the future?
Even if you can just say whether you plan to simply buff him or are considering a rework.
Thanks!

Not for me, but I can't speak for everyone that plays DBD on console.
Ah nice, I just stick em all in the basement as Bubba and watch the chaos unfold.

Considering they're the 2 most aim intensive killers in the game, it shouldn't have surprised me that they ended up as 2 of the least successful killers on both console lists, but it still did. As for the reasoning, I've heard both controller sensitivity and/or difficulty in precision aim is the reason they tend to be so much harder on console than pc.
Yes, because obviously a controller doesn’t have anywhere near the precision as mouse and keyboard does, and right now the console version has a cap on how high your sensitivity can go, so it is really hard to do a quick snap around hit after, say, a Nurse blink. Beyond that though I don’t have too many problems with console.
-
Biggest issue on console for me is that Nurse and Huntress are much harder to play than on PC, which is a problem considering that they are 2 of the best killers on PC.

What exactly is "tantrum"? Neve heard this term before
It’s the dance he does with the chainsaw if you hit a wall with it

It's not faithful to the movies. Leatherface never tantrumed in ANY of the movies because his saw hits a wall (or more realistic to DBD, came within 3 feet of a wall OR within 5 feet of one of the about a dozen or so glitch zones).
I don’t mean it is faithful in the exact sense that he hits a wall and tantrums, I mean it is faithful that he tantrums in the game as he does in the movie and that I feel that element of him should stay but be made MUCH better for LF players.

Yes, something like this instead of straight up removing it.
Yeah I just feel that it is something quite unique to him, plus it is faithful to the movies.
The problem right now is it is just a massive hinderance to him whereas it should compliment him instead.
-
Best killer on console IMO, difficult to use, has counters, not overpowered at all.
-
I too hate his tantrum, BUT I think instead of removing it, what about it becoming something more useful?
I don’t know exactly what that would be but maybe instead of him almost completely stopping when he does it, maybe he just stops for a second then when he tantrums he can continue moving at 110% movement speed while still swinging the saw about.
Again this is just a suggestion I don’t know EXACTLY how you would make it more useful but there must be a way.
Still though, as it is right now, screw his tantrum.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that with this little idea that’s I have he obviously cannot hit the wall and start the tantrum again while he is already in the middle of one. Alright thanks!

Things I want:
- Remake Leatherface
- Pretty Woman Leatherface
- Old Lady Leatherface
- Golden "The Saw is Family" engraved chainsaw
- Maskless Leatherface
Yeah that would be nice, I would actually add 1 more, even though the movie sucked his Texas chainsaw 3D design was cool.

I'd buy any LF skin, from pretty lady to old woman and ofc remake LF.
Hopefully with the Pig skin leaks, they may get the rights to make LF skins
-
I still would love remake Leatherface as a skin in DBD

@[Deleted User] said:
I believe any buffs or changes to LF would need to be small. The way the chainsaw already works puts LF on a fine line where he could accidentally become overpowered.
The last thing we need is to break this game with a killer and an ability to down that survivors 100% cannot evade.
It truly wouldn’t be fair if there were NO strategy or evasive move a survivor could do to avoid being downed.
The game still needs to make a killer put thought into when to use their ability, and when not to use their ability.
Here’s the thing though, LF chainsaw is so slow and clunky that he often counters himself by bumping into something without the survivors needing to really do anything. And realistically it would take some HUGE buffs to make LF overpowered.
Finally his add-ons need a overhaul because they are potentially the worst selection of add-ons that any killer in the game has
-
Mr.X from RE2 remake, hearing those footsteps thump around would be cool
-
I try.

Leatherface is on our radar, but it's a very, very big radar. Killers like Freddy and Legion took priority over him in the past since they were more in need of changes. I can't promise anything just yet, but we have been watching and we've seen your feedback and suggestions.
This fills my face(s) with joy to hear this!
-
OK, well I didn't expect this discussion to get the attention it did so let me say a few things:
Thank you all for being mostly respectful, it is a rarity on these forums
I think there is a misconception that I just keep stepping on my traps and this is why I want this, that actually isn't the case. I suggested this because I just feel it makes the Trapper more convenient and it would add mind games to him by being able to go through traps, maybe even make loops smaller against trapper. Let me be clear that I don't view this as a "fix" per se.
Regardless whether you agree with this idea or not I think what is important from this is that pretty much everyone here wants Trapper buffs which is great.
Please do continue to discuss this respectfully

While other Killers can't be hit by their own power they all have negatives. Such as having to reload, chainsaw cooldowns for hitting walls and other things.Yeah but I feel the trapper already has the downsides of hving to go round placing his traps which takes time, they can be disarmed, they can be sabotaged and he has to keep re-setting them when this kind of stuff happens.I just don't think that he should have this extra negative alongside that.

Yeah and I just don't see the point of a killer that is not even top tier being the ONLY killer to be hit by his own power. What are you talking about? Chainsaw Killers also suffer from penalties when not using their ability properly, when they run in obtacles. Stepping in your own trap is probably the most embarassing thing that can happen to a Killer, git gud or live with the consequences.
If you step in your own bear trap you WILL get trapped, that's how logic works.
No.1 bumping into an object with a chainsaw is not the same as getting caught in a trap, you don't chainsaw youself accidentally ( I am a Leatherface main so I know BTW ) No.2 You seem to forget that ths game takes place in a realm where logic is out the window. An obese killer clown can move faster than an athlete for example. The entity making it so that the trapper doesn't get caught by his own traps is much more logical than that.
-
@Judgement said:
I made a post about this a long time ago and it was lost to a botspam or something.
With literal lore explanation as to why he wouldn’t get caught - how long have he been killing for the Entity? And he still gets caught in his own traps.
It’s also too easy for Survivors to abuse their smaller hitbox to step around traps that Trapper cannot, which literally makes loops safe so long as there is a trap in a narrow area that a Survivor can squeeze through without setting it off.
Trapper has no reason to be caught by his own traps at all. They literally make areas safe to be in so long as a Survivor is aware of a trap’s presence.Yeah and I just don't see the point of a killer that is not even top tier being the ONLY killer to be hit by his own power.

I find it super funny when I see Trapper step in his own trap.Oh it's funny, there is no denying that but it is really annoying when you are playing as him

Traps are highlighted, like... C'mon!Yeah, and my point isn't that I can't see them my point is that he just shouldn't get caught by them and it opens up more mindgames.

Just curious because back on what I believe was the first play with the devs stream, Mathieu said that one of the license holders seemed to be willing to allow it but we haven't heard anything since. On a personal note I still hope it is Leatherface.
On a recent stream, he said, "We're working on it" so hopefully it's either Leather Face or Amanda! :) Ayyyy, i'm glad that upon my return here after about 3 months that you are the first person I speak to!
I missed you!

Well how could you not, I thought though that after 3 months of absence it was time for me to grace all of you peasants with my magnificent insight, and so here I am.
Lol, missed you too!
Time to get the developers to buff Leather Face!

Yes, it is important to understand that we are in a war to buff LF, I have just been out of service for a few months and now i'm back.
War is hell.

My god, look it's of course his opinion but LF better than Hag? Or even doctor?
I am starting to feel that this is why LF isnt being buffed, because " He has a insta down attack ". While that is true and it can be very powerful, the ease of use of it compared to lets say- Hillbilly, Tyde's own comparison is not even close.
LF- Slow, clunky with terrible add-ons to boot
Hillbilly- Probably the best map pressure in the game and is arguably better than LF chainsaw at close range because Hillbilly doesn't get as punished in his movement speed while revving like Leatherface does.LF is BARELY above Freddy right now.

Knock out is fine, not everything should be changed for swf as knock out can still be used against swf as I've used it before against them to great effect. It works wonders against solos. So leave it lol. Maybe make that new perk it's own perkWell I don't think knock out is bad JUST because of SWF, that was merely one of the reasons among others. And I was suggesting it as a rework for knock out because I literally almost never see it used and I thought this new idea would be a good fit for LF.

I have it! It creates ( drumroll please )
Leatherface buffs!

I took a bump on the head a few months back, and ever since then I have enjoyed going through things that put me in an IMMENSE amount of pain.
Boom, I was a Leatherface main.

Does the entity have a much closer bond with Leatherface than any other killer?
Because Leatherface most likely considers the Entity his new family, does the Entity have any special relation back to him?

That is a cool feature on Xbox! So Spirit fury ignored the pallet and let Bubba hunt! Bug or working as intended because i got a swipe through a pallet as Michael with Spirit Fury it still stunned but completed the action.
It is definitely a bug, because I tried it again and it didn't work, but this honestly should just be part of LF kit
