  • You're not the only person to report this. Someone else said they, at rank 14, got matched with four rank 2 Survivors.

Indeed. Behaviour needs to follow Blizzard's way of balancing talents in Heroes of the Storm:

    • If something is used a lot, find out why it's used a lot.
    • If it's used a lot because the other options are crap, buff the other options.
    • If it's used a lot because it's broken, nerf the main use it has so it's more in line with the other options.

Self Care falls under the second reason - it's used a lot because infinite, self-sustaining heals without any drawbacks make hits irrelevant. Therefore, the self-heal aspect of it must be nerfed.

Heroes of The storm is a bas comparison since you've got 2 teams of 5 on 5 with vastly different abilities that can not only damage each other. They also have AOE effects and can damage terrain.

Buffing other options seems to be a no go with quite a few killer mains on here if both past and current history is any indication.

Just look at the outcry when Calm Spirit got buffed or whenever anyone talks about changing No Mither or any other survivor perks that not meta.

You get the typical catcalls and whines about all you want is something more op, survivors are already broken/op etc etc etc.

I've suggested changes to other perks to break them into being viable and I get the above almost always. However if I suggest a buff to killer perks it's a whole new ballgame, then if the buff isn't op enough i'm just trolling or not being serious.

I think the principle of buffs/nerfs they use for HotS applies regardless of the game. It's simply logical.

Levels have nothing to do with rank.

you know what I mean...corrected it

No, I don't, because some people think character level should also be taken into account by the matchmaking. I don't get paid enough to read minds.

Anyway, after a certain amount of time, the rank requirements are opened up, to shorten queue times. This is standard in almost every game with a ranking system.

It was instant match. Joined lobby bam 4 survivors...…...

Sounds like a severe bug, then. I hope it gets fixed.

    There are four survivors.
    There is one killer.

Perks for killers should not have equivalent versions for survivors. How does balance work?

    Always a counter for everything

This is a perk used primarily for getting BP. Are you suggesting a Survivor perk that lowers BP for Killers? As for the aura reading, there are gameplay counters to it, since it's limited in range.

Didn't even finished the gen, she found me at the start. Kept her busy, trying to run away/lose her. Not doing anything toxic unless not being caught immediately means I'm toxic.

And how many generators were finished during the chase? That's what I want to know, I'm trying to find a rationale behind the Killer's actions - assuming it even exists.

  • Probability is a funny thing. Just because you used four offerings doesn't mean you're guaranteed a free self-unhook.

  • @Eveline said:
I was just doing gen when she found me. Then I kept her busy for a while until she downed me. After that I got the trap on and she hooked me. Unhooked almost immediately by a hook farmer and that's when the chase resumed until the end.

Define "kept her busy for a while". Put it into numbers. 2 generators? 3?

  • Bad idea. At best, double damage would be acceptable.

^^ I garuntee you this dude would get 0k as a killer. I can tell for certain, just from his weak comment. He talks about gittin gud but has no idea what its like to have to actually be skilled in dbd. First game against a micd up team and hed be opening a thread crying about it.

There are a few people on the forum whose comments and opinions you can safely ignore without missing out on anything relevant.

  • @Eveline said:
I get ######### on by killers even tho I don't do toxic stuff should I start using DS then?

That's the result of toxicity going unpunished for so long - people have drawn their conclusions based on the big picture, and those like you and me are caught in the middle.

  • @Eveline said:
People who go hard on one or two survivors starting the game alone. Camping the only hooked one for example. Some of you said you go hard and won't go easy, why do you lobby dodge a survivor with a toolbox if he's going hard just like you are?

Because when I go easy on Survivors, I get ######### on. When I go hard on them, I also get ######### on. I'd rather just give the last one the hatch if everyone else was a dick (DC'd, suicided, etc.) and get one grateful player. Should Survivors start being ######### when I do that, however, even that small bit of mercy will go away.

  • @Eveline said:
She was always close to me with the timer resuming. Maybe because she was crouching sometimes but we were close to each other the whole game and she was after me. Following me basically.

Either you pissed her off tremendously, or she just wanted to see the animation. EDIT: Or she was toxic. I don't think this needs to be said, but whatever.

  • The difference comes down to how the human brain works, meaning it's essentially irrelevant.

  • @Eveline said:
I was tunneled for the whole last game by the pig. Chased until all gens were done with the trap on until it went off.

Trap doesn't tick if you're being chased, how did that come about?

  • Rancor is not pronounced "Rancar". Anyone who pronounces it like that probably can't read English.
The confusion between Autoheaven and Autohaven comes from the fact that the realm is called Autohaven, while the gas shop in Gas Heaven is called "Gas N Heaven".

  • @Eveline said:
What if there are two gens left close to each other? You can't really run away if he's coming.

Then there will be a third generator elsewhere.

  • @Eveline said:
This really makes me not to want to play this game anymore. It happens all the time.

That's how some Killers feel about the stale Survivor meta, as well as troll SWF groups.

nope, not deleting it. don't care. There are many other twitch streamers who have the exact or similar VODS and so I guess I will just be like them and have it out there for everyone to see. Big whoop.

But, I said what I wanted to say so no need to reply to people who keep coming back to just say stuff because I don't respond. Either this post will get closed by a mod or something, which I don't care if it does because as i said, I said what I wanted to say.

Kudos for not deleting it. Not many people would do the same thing. At the same time, it was quite clear you didn't just come here to complain. You expected people to rally behind you, and I don't see what lying about it is supposed to accomplish.

Ranks and colors are the issue. You expect something but get the opposite.

The 3 of you just proved my point I made earlier that you won't call out the bs some killer mains spew then turn around and say it's survivor sided. You can say what you want about Senz but he has a point about what he said.

Whatever points he may have gets drowned out by his juvenile attitude. Here's a mockup of pretty much any SenzuDuck post.

    (Killer Says Something)
SD: LULZ 4K Entitlement! (Pointless rant about things killer never mentioned)

(Killer Comments Back, possibly paraphrasing something SD insinuated or outright said)
SD: LULZ Not what I said! Quote where I said those EXACT WORDS! LULZ words in my mouth hur!

And then he'll finish up with some trite and juvenile poke that only he finds funny.

Again, whatever points he may make are bookended by obnoxious troll behavior that seriously needs to be ignored. At this point, those of us who respond to him or talk about him are just as much at fault as he is for allowing him to derail a thread, which I'm assuming is his entire point to begin with. Which is ridiculous of course because the Devs have not once looked at a thread where a killer said something and said to themselves, "Whoa, SD didn't mention 4k entitlement...the killer must have a point!"

Regardless, I am done talking to or about SD. It's what he wants, attention, and it's the one thing that we (as a forum) sincerely need to deny him.

I noticed quite a few survivor trolls on this forum, will just ignore them from now on. Can't argue with ppl who think selfcare is balanced, a perk that gets 98% use, might as well make that ######### baseline.

Indeed. Behaviour needs to follow Blizzard's way of balancing talents in Heroes of the Storm:

    • If something is used a lot, find out why it's used a lot.
    • If it's used a lot because the other options are crap, buff the other options.

Not me. I'm unpredictable! Sometimes even I don't know what I'm doing.

Set a trap in a random grass spot. Nothing around. No pallets, no obstacles, no objectives. Nothing.
Still caught someone with that trap. He later asked who sets his traps there?!

That's how I do it too. They expect you to put traps at some places, so the traps lose the element of surprise (i.e.: what makes them traps in the first place). That's why you set them in different places.

  • @Tsulan said:
I had a match where every survivor thought it would be a good idea to hide in the same locker. Every time I checked the first basement locker, there was a survivor inside. Like 4 times in a single match.

That's where they usually hide, if they're in the basement. Either there or behind the wall. Makes them predictable.

  • @Dabrownman1812 said:
There was no need for it, the standard "meta" build works. The 4th slot is often for grabs and if the spirit pulling people becomes viable, survivors will adapt. Selfcare, urban, sprint burst, spinechill/premonition. If the spirit makes it into top tier threats, and then usage will spike, and they will see it complements their builds as it helps with stealth etc.

Again, I've never seen it happen. Usually, Survivors just complain until the Killer stuff gets nerfed into uselessness. The Survivor stale meta has always been every safety net perk.

  • These could make for neat Ultra Rare add-ons, but not as default mechanics.

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:
It's still not enough. Even very good spirit players get destroyed by SWF groups or just good survivors in general..

Iron will is also an extremely good counter to her which is kinda cheap because you counter her with a perk not with skill.

She still requires the most effort to get a normal m1 attack and still has to wait ages to refill her power.

Literally just keep running and she'll never catch you. Can't mindgame at pallets/windows if you never stop moving.

  • All of them except the majority of Hex perks.

  • @Dabrownman1812 said:
To start, if meta and an issue spine chill will stop or limit those plays. Survivors have tools to track and will adapt accordingly when meta calls for it.

Hasn't happened yet, but I suppose anything is possible.

    (snip)

Pretty much everything you said. I know the mods here are anti-killer and allow survivor apologists to run roughshod but I sincerely don't understand how this guy hasn't been banned. He'll literally come onto a thread where a killer player suggests something and make it unreadable, which I'm sure is his point. If he's not attacking points that weren't made in the post anywhere he's whining about people "putting words" in his mouth or falling back on his old pointless favorite "Well you just want to 4K." And that's not including all of the sophomoric passive aggressive garbage he throws out into threads.

If you want to provide an opposing view point, great, but that's not what this guy wants. He wants any pro-killer ideas buried beneath a landfill of unreadable and pointless garbage. Which, sadly, he very much succeeds at doing.

That's why I ignore him. I recommend you do the same.

  • Why did you trust the guy who's trying to kill you?

  • Exactly, don't address the actual comment, just make up your own and mock that instead. Much easier to fight a strawman.

Don't let a few out of thousands make you angry. :)

Like me. Half the time I've got the Steam overlay open and am browsing 9gag. Of the few times I don't, I'm checking for SWF to mentally prepare.

Mentally prepare? What, you put a few more padlocks on your drawer of salt? ;P
    Just kidding of course. :)

More like get in the mindset that the next trial is likely to be unfun. I find it helps against all those sweaty SWFs.

I figured that was it, cause that's me too. 8-)

If they get too trolly/annoying, I take a page out of their book, if you know what I mean. Let them have their win, I'm just looking for a fun trial.

How about when a survivor DC's immediately after getting grabbed from a vault or out of a locker?

I don't think either of those have happened to me. Still, I just take the free kill and the knowledge that they felt they were so outplayed, they had to call out to their mommy to pull the plug.

No, competitive environments brings out things in people. Not blaming the game, saying it is the obvious catalyst for this behavior or it unfetters them. The actions are totally up to the user.

Can't bring out what isn't there in the first place. People like that just shouldn't play games.

  • When a toxic Survivor DCs because he missed his DS or got downed very quickly.
When a Survivor DCs because of Rancor (I don't even understand the mentality - Memento Mori animations are cool to look at from either side; he's just denying himself the viewing pleasure at this point, while I'm laughing that he rage quit).

Totems should respawn. Or light a dull totem after X seconds/minutes.

Campers only get fed by Solos or SWFs not on comms(which is rare)

There needs to be anti slugging perks imo since apparently slugging is the meta at higher ranks. You have next to no choice but to take Unbreakable every single game if you play solo. Because either your team will sandbag you for hook points(no one cares about safe unhooks unless they're running Deliverance) or if the hatch would be aval, you're getting slugged and possibly camped on the ground for the rest of the game.

Campers get fed by all types of Survivors, especially SWF on comms.

Why do you need more than Unbreakable? Combine it with Self Care and you're good to go.

I dont play SWF. I play solo. Strictly. Bc i get confused by people with open mics.

Because that's 2 slots gone to waste.

It's 1 slot to counter a strategy you yourself say you encounter frequently and can't beat, and another one for unlimited self-heals. If that's what you consider "wasted", well...

Videoproof in a lagg-free game or it didnt happen

Doesn't need to be a lag-free game.. people will always call it latency, as if it were an excuse for bad mechanics.

No one complains when it's killer-sided latency.

I think it's just a bad animation that makes it look strange on the Survivor's end, similarly to what has sometimes been referred to as "pick up vacuum". If I'm right, on the Killer's side, his camera would simply spin 180º and he'd see himself hit the Survivor normally.
