@MegaWaffle That is exactly what I was looking for. The S-tier always threw me off. I didn't realize that was the best. Thanks a bunch.

You can go higher than "S" tier too. Not sure if you've ever played Devil May Cry series but you can get SSS tier.
It all depends on what the community decides is the highest/lowest limit.

Sorry its so hard to read these dang bottles and their itty-bitty writing. ;)

On a serious note, though: Where can I go and see what these letter-tiers mean? I would like to understand what an "S tier" is, but I have no friggin clue. I see this in Overwatch and HoTS as well, and never really understood where that placed the characters.

Think of it like a test in school. Getting an A is great while getting a F/E is bad. Saying something is "B" tier is like saying they are ok/neutral on the power scale, while saying something is "A" tier means they are good. If you say something is "S" tier then they are extremely good and this is often where people will complain about things being "overpowered".

From best tier to lowest tier:
    S
    A
    B
    C
    D
    E/F
    Freddy

That would be the best I could say.

sorry if I didnt put the tag my fingers wrote quickly but yes was referring to @Lowbei

To be fair if they were to add this to PC only I guess if lagswitching is a big thing it "may" have a positive effect? But that would also be assuming BHVR actually banned players. On console we don't have hackers so my point would be much more geared on the console side of things.

I have to agree with DeadbyFlashlight here. So many survivors rage quit the moment something they don't like happens. If they could see the match ping turn a colour they don't like during, say a lunge attack or a pallet drop, they would be more likely to scream "lag switcher! and rage quit.

I don't see any benefit to this sort of add on.

while i see his point, i think these same people would dc the second the killer downed them anyways.

That is his point. If you are a player who doesn't DC then nothing is going to change regardless of what they do, however if you are a player who always finds some "justification" to DC this would simply add another revenue to use.

I didn't really have anything to complain about but the Huntress hitbox issue and they were already on it. Thank you so much for hearing your community out ❤️

You know they only released that Huntress patch to test out how their idea would work on a large test audience. I highly doubt they were intending to keep it that way unless no one complained. A Huntress hit-box patch will most likely be coming in the future but they will take what they did wrong here and try to tune it up.

If someone ######### on my car and a few weeks later after I complained they cleaned it up I wouldn't be praising them.

Since none of you understand what I mean, I’m putting it in here that this is a reference to the escape phase. The solution to campers while OBJ is active is to just go nuts with gens. I’m sorry that I wasn’t clear on that.

Camping is very easy to counter. You deal with it the exact same way as a hatch standoff.

Everyone just swarms the hook, and cancel unhook attempts until the killer strikes someone, that guy bolts and while the killer is on cooldown someone else unhooks and absolutely everyone gets away.

Ive had the game just shy of a month and I already figured this out people. Stop crying and use your brain. Killers don’t need another nerf of any kind whatsoever.

Hags and Trappers seem to love this map. Several times I've been in lobbies where they burned offerings for it. It does hide their traps well.

The map is surprisingly small too as I've had good success with Doctor (sniper build or massive radius builds). I do agree it has waaaay to many bamboo shoots. It reminds me of Rotten Fields or Pale Rose with the reed variation. shudder

Every game there is at least 1, and survivors often DC to prevent BBQ stacks just to be toxic. Would really be nice to have a leaver status with leaver lobbies. This game is so team dependent, the fact people can just leave the match over and over and ruin everyone else's games is unacceptable.

If you leave more than one match every week you should be hit with the leaver lobbies. That way the people who actually want to play the game can and people won't be inclined to just leave match when things aren't going their way.

Which one do you like to use the most. I've been playing on console until I bought the game on computer today. I always thought that keyboard + mouse would br better for this game but after a few games I'm starting to think that U might have been wrong... Especially when playing survivor..

I'm going to keep trying though. Might be the lack of practice

I play PS4 and only have a controller but I would imagine that Killers would gain a huge benefit from having a mouse to control their lunge.

As for survivor I'm not sure it really makes a difference. You get a more fluid movement pattern from a full 360 degree analog stick than you do with 4 directional keys.

They didn't "fix" Huntress they simply returned her to the way she was before the patch.

Been playing survivor the last couple of nights and not see one!
    Very disappointed.

Out of the 100+ matches played since her release I'd say she is very rare to see. I know during the BP weekend it was mostly Doctor (understandably) but even now I've only played against her a handful of times.

Clown was the same way with me. I rarely saw him during release and see him even less so now.

  • I'm running it far less on high ranks because 1: its found within the first 10 seconds of a match or 2: Experienced survivors just work through it.

I'll use it during a rank reset or event simply because all the new players at least get you some value from the perk.

Even with Hex: Haunted Ground it doesn't last long.

While you may not have said it there were others who had. My statement was directed to the individual who had done so. There is more than just you and I in this conversation.

The only issues I've really had with Wraith is the slowdown while uncloaking can sometimes screw me up. Otherwise I do just fine at rank 1. I average between 2-3 kills a game. Usually get everyone hooked at least once. Current running build is Brutal Strength, Enduring, Spirit Fury, and Save the Best for Last. Been doing me just fine. He's just an M1 killer that suffers from the same issues all M1 killers do, and my build has been helping minimize that issue. Hell I'll even cloak after hitting someone to catch up, and emerge knocking them out.

Just a heads up if you "@" someone in front of their name it would make it easier to 1: understand who you are directing your comment too and 2: Tag that person in messages so they get a notification about your comment.

  • @Oblitiry said:
I don't care enough to bother with remembering peoples names. I just play the damn game.

When I play survivor I often message every killer (PS4) and say gg or point out something funny that happened. Honestly I can't believe the amount of Killers who remember me and either give me hatch or do funny things when I get caught. Its sort of nice seeing a familiar name after a match or getting matched up with a survivor who was the killer a few rounds ago. I've also had Killer matches where I get survivors I remember.

  • They really need to address rank since there are days where I cannot find matches at rank 1 for ages. If we had separate ranks for survivors or a "un-ranked" mode. I get the frustration in wanting to play but not being able to.

As Orion said there is no way to de-rank without being an #########, so I would simply do your best in your matches. Or get friends who are low rank and exploit SWF. As a Killer I'm not fond of the idea of SWF groups but sometimes they just want to get games too.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:
I know this is or once was an issue. Random question. Was this fixed? Asking because I want to know if they ever made changes to how body blocking works in general.

Survivors can push Killers during hit animation.

Survivors get a small immunity frame duration once hit and can phase through a killer.

Myers has no body hit-box if Stalking so anyone can run past him (only if stalking).

I'm pretty sure Hag is the only killer with a small enough hit-box that you can sometimes simply squeeze on by.

Try hitting ruin skillchecks at 30 fps and say that again. Some people just avoid skillchecks cuz the performance in this game is a ######### and they can't run 60 fps

So long as you don't get Doctor or lag spikes its not hard to hit Hex skill checks. I play PS4 and don't bother hunting for Ruin. It takes practice at first but becomes almost second nature after that.

I don't expect them to create a game that is 100% in the direction I would like and even if I'm frustrated with the direction its taken I'm not yelling at them to change it all, I don't believe DBD will "die" and I never said a true horror game was scary every time you play it. It seems these are conclusions you came to based on what you read but they are not the points I was conveying. I do not like the direction the game is going but (as I said) I don't expect everyone to agree with me. I also never said another game is going to "take over" but that if another developer creates a asymmetrical horror game that fits what many people want to see in a horror game that we could see a huge shift of players go there. Last I checked Fortnight never "took over" PUBG but it did create a far bigger splash and gave Battle Royal what people really wanted from it.

PS: Its always difficult to set a tone of voice when writing but understand I'm not arguing with you on anything, just trying to point to where I was going with this.

    It's happening on PS4.

Then my post regarding console stands. You will probably see this problem persist or will see various other issues as from a few days ago right up until December (as the Devs claim) they are working to optimize console performance. Expect a wide variety of issues and fixes.

I hope you like roller coasters because DBD is a big one.

  • If its on console they are currently doing some extensive FPS/optimization "shadow" fixes that are affecting connectivity at various times and for various lengths of time.

If its on PC then I sadly cannot say. I would wager it could be because DBD still shares part of their server space with console players, and this could be causing an affect.

I play on PS4 myself so my knowledge of PC related issues in minimal at best.

1: Could have seen you place it.
2: Could have seen it as they are not very hard to see.
3: Could have been in a obvious/popular spot meaning they simply took caution and guessed right.
4: Could have seen it before getting chased and knew where it was.
5: SWF could have told them were it was.
    6: Could have gotten lucky.

If you vs a Trapper most experienced survivors will avoid pallets that haven't been "pre-checked" and will take wider loops around object to avoid popular trap spots.

I know all this. But they weren't SWF: one of them always got caught. The other two were potato and also got lured.
only this p3claudette run around traps. Actually, she run around bush that had trap and only that bush. Or didn't go for a pallet with trap on other side (in bush) once she was nearing it. And with no small game it's just odd.
more odd that it's happening in different games around specific survivor.

Experience or any number of the things I mentioned above.
I have been around since day 1 release of DBD and it is incredibly rare I fall for a Trapper trap. Experience keeps you from running into popular spots and your eyes sharpen to notice even the smallest hint of traps. Hell there are times I've seen something yellowish-orange on the ground and instinctively ran past it even thought it turned out to simply be floor clutter, its instinctive.

The point is you will notice this a ton with higher experienced survivors as Trapper traps are not nearly as undetectable as Hag traps. And even with Hag traps you will see experienced survivors almost "magically" know where they are likely to be. You cannot determine a survivors experience by rank alone as rank reset and a absence of playing can cause you to de-pip to a lower rank.

So the month of October is upon us and well I've gotta ask what do you all thinks gonna go down? Will we get an event or perhaps nothing at all? Will the event be similar to the summer bbq? Now I don't always keep up with dev streams or anything if someone knows something gotta tell us or well... me!

Lots of things are happening this October:

    The start of Fall.
    Halloween.
The weather will get a little chill to the air (depending on location)
I think a new Halloween movie is trying to make an appearance?
Pumpkin Spice...well, everything is being released in every coffee shop.
I'm buying a new sweater because my old one got bleach on it.
I won't need to mow my lawn anymore and instead will be raking leaves all day.
No more bikini/speedo days (depending on location).
The slow, creeping inevitability that winter is coming...

I should honestly stop writing because it would take far to long to explain everything happening this October and even then I would still be so far from completing a list for you.

Hey there. So, here's the thing: looking for some typical newbie advice.

I've owned the game and all the DLCs since the summer sale, and just got the Spirit DLC. But, I haven't had time to really jump into the game until now.

I plan to play both Killer and Survivor. Are there any specific Survivors or Killers I should focus on as a newbie? I'm not too concerned about climbing ranks per se. After two years in Overwatch and Paladins, I'm more than a little done caring about Rank. It'll happen as it happens. I'm just looking to have some fun.

Also, I hear HybridPanda has good videos. Are there any other YouTube channels you guys would recommend for getting familiar with the ins and outs of the game?

Having not read any other post I may be repeating things but:

    YouTubers

Tru3talent - Plays both Killer and Survivor equally and gives strong opinions on his idea of balance for both sides. Uploads what seems like 1 billion videos a day.

Monto - Plays both Killer and Survivor equally and mostly does gimmick builds and simply has fun.

HybridPanda - Plays both Killer and Survivor (seems slightly more killer) and honestly just plays for fun. Very calm in nearly every game.

Puppers - Plays Killer and Survivor (mostly survivor) and is the splitting image of Dwight. Plays for fun and can sometimes be slightly toxic (more in a "fun" way if that's possible)

Noob3 - Plays Killer and Survivor (mostly survivor) and does lighthearted toxic builds. Mostly calm/chill in his videos and mostly does gimmick builds.

PaulieEster - Loads of long live-stream videos that are both simply for fun (mostly survivor) and informative with patch/dlc/update information.

TydeTime - Plays Killer and Survivor equally but is getting rather "bogged down" with DBD. You will get the impression this guy isn't enjoying the game as much as he use to and you would be right. Post informative videos on game mechanics/numbers and does a ton of videos talking about balance changes he would like to see. He also hosts DBD tournaments and has a grab bag of other DBD oddities.

I've no doubt there are other out there but these are simply some of the ones I tend to watch from time to time.

Would be nice if the Mori didn't apply unless you have been hooked at least once during the match or you are the last remaining survivor. <--- (Only if you didn't have any obsession perks equipped)
