i did say, you'd be able to reach them as killer from both sides. think of it as a vault space, but you can only crouch under it, pick them up from either side so they can't just sit in the middle of it

So you cant turn directions while crouching? Otherwise the killer wil never be able to get you.

Then you are describing the mechanic of vaulting a pallet with the difference that the killer cant break the pallet. I dont think I need to explain why this is absolutely broken, do I?

  • You have to understand that the "fun" is fun from the survivors perspective (even if legion isnt really fun for both sides) and DS can be "fun" for survivors

  • Wouldn't be the best idea to publish such stats, at lead from bhvr perspective....

Everybody playing the game knows how bad the dcING situation really is
  • Even if fogstreamers use and promote it, technically it's not allowed and should get you permabanned
  • Can't tell since I've only played one game so far but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised at all
     Its been a habit lately........

If they hookswarm then i kill the prick rescuer and let go the one who was at the hook, simple.
A camper doesn't have problems since he will do what you described, he smacks the unhooked before the unhook, let's him waste the speediest and gets another hit after the unhook (assuming no coordinated bodyblocking)

.it's the non camping killers that are hurt by BT

Yes it's far too loud. I can't hear a Huntress winding up a hatchet or a leatherface using his chainsaw (50% of the time for them though but it's still bad)

I play on the PS4 so a simple solution would be to map using abilities/items to the L2 key so there is no confusion.

What actions are reserved for the L2 key?

  • If you dont start smashing the button several meters before the actual pallet/vault, then you are completely fine.
I never run into problems like that

Insidious: While Insidious is active, Survivors within 4/6/8 meters auras are revealed. This modest aura read aids in the purpose of getting the drop on Survivors should a killer choose to hide behind walls or around corners they suspect survivors will be. (EDIT): also for balancing purposes, Insidious cannot be activated within 24 meters of a hooked survivor.

Unrelenting: recuperate from missed attacks by 20/30/40% and gain 30/40/50% more Bloodpoints for actions in the Brutality category.

Surveillance: Survivors who fail skill checks outside your terror radius have their aura revealed for 3/4/5 seconds. This includes failure on generators, healing, snapping out of it, jigsaw boxes, etc.

Within 8 meters you see the survivor already, so that aura is completely irrelevant (and bad design if you ask me, the game needs less auras in general). And insidious only purpose is for camping at the hook btw

Bit unsure of this and I do not want to break the rules.

If I see a survivor in a corner and I trap them there, hitting them twice with no chance of escape (not holding them hostage there) or as a survivor blocking the killer from the hook.

Just want a clear understanding of what is cheating/holding the game hostage and will get me banned. (I appreciate that people have opinions on what people should be banned for but I just want to know what is an actual offence for now :chuffed: )

Both is perfectly acceptable (even though the first one is impossible since the survivor can walk through you after one hit)

The only bannable bodyblocking is if you litrally force someone to be afk for several minutes

Gens being done in less than 4 minutes? Never, maybe when i started to play as a killer in 2016, but not that i remember.

There are many ways to do well in this game, but my rules are simple:

    * Get rid of the DS asap (if they use it at the beginning they will run with 3 perks for the rest of the match)
    * Break the pallets asap (unless it's a short loop where i can mindgame easily)
    * To know who i gotta chase and who to avoid.

There are more, but i like to point these ones especially because it seems that many killers panic against DS users or refuse to break the pallets, meaning that they end up getting looped for X gens or worse, those pallets are still there at the end of the match.

Do i win all the time? Of course not, but i get really nice results thanks to the way i play.

Get rid of DS? You mean you eat the free escape and simply waste time? Sounds like a solid plan

Break pallets? Yeah just a shame that there are so many

Who to chase? You mean focusing the pleb survivor that doesnt know how to loop? Yeah well and what if all survivors have a brain and have played before?

    @Master
Yeah i totally eat it if i have to. Most killers lose more time by trying to avoid it instead of just dealing with it.
The number of pallets is fine. They have reduced the number and now they are more spreaded (remember the old preschool?)
They all might be good but there's always someone who is worse than the others. And if there's the case where all of them are god tier survivors then just deal with it!
Seriously, accept the defeat. Do you really expect to win all the time?

Of course they have reduced the number of godtier pallets, but that doesnt change the fact that there are still plenty of pallets to keep you occupied more than enough.

Just deal with it, ahhh now were talking. Glad that you accept that and thats exactly the reason why gentime needs to change. It cant be real that you only have a chance if the survivors are potatoes

@Master I'm not speaking about restoring the old graphic engine or other difficult things. I simply ask that the files stored in their servers are taken from dusty hard disks and made available to anyone who wants to enjoy them, without costs or additional work, but published as they are: copy and paste, nothing less, nothing more.

But those old files might not be compatible with the current game anymore, thats what im talking about.
Imagine putting an old floppy disk into a modern laptop (which doesnt even have a CD drive anymore)

Also there is a lot more behind that since maps are actually created "procedurally" and the alogirthms have changed a lot

Don't forget that killer has to be blind and deaf to allow survivors to finish all gens in so little time.

We are talking only about the objective times and you cant deny that there is a big gap between the killers/survivors objective time. It takes 2 minutes until a single survivor dies on hook, but it doesnt even take 2 minutes to complete all gens. Sure, the killer will patrol and force one survivor out of the gen game, but dont forget that the killer has to go through endless looping until he actually gets a hooked (+second chances)

    @Master
If it took less than 2 minutes to die on the hook would make camping way more rewarding, so it's fine.

I think 2 minutes to die on hook is totally fine, but the genspeeds are just way to fast

  • Since the game has went thruogh a lot of changes (engine for example), it would require a lot of work to bring the old versions of the map (if they saved them at all) up to a playable version.

All this effort for an unbalanced experienced in kyf? Well I doubt that BHVR will do that

Even though they're a bad killer, the playstyle they have is kind of weird in that if you try and focus one person with frenzy you kind of [BAD WORD] yourself over. Tag as many people as possible with Frenzy while breaking chase. This lets the deep wounds bar go down so when you find them again it'll be easier

The killers power contradicts the nature of DBD. To be efficient you need to remove one survivors ASAP, this will basically half the survivors working on gens (assuming you manage to hook someone within reasonable time)

Ok. I could get on here and complain about the MYRIAD of REAL issues with this game, i wont, first off i am survivor main, matter of fact, i have maybe played 3 games as killer, (i have a fundamental problem with the killer mindset) i am devotion rank 2 so i have played A great deal of DBD. That being said i have a real problem with how close the hooks are, tonight my gf and i were playing, gasheavan i believe it was (almost all maps have this problem) when she was downed and hooked for the last time, i was also down right next to her, so obviously i crawled into the far corner in hopes that he would have to carry me further and id have chance to wiggle free, knowing the hook she died on was down, he proceeds to pick me up walk past said hook and about 20 meters away was another hook, whats the point of wiggling and breaking my sticks to wiggle if there are hooks 20 meters apart... not to mention there are what 7 gens on each map, and about 10 hooks or more on the bigger maps... its kind of ridiculous... im just really tired of the bullcrap with tjis game all around, devs will lose me when this year is up. Much better less infuruating games to come, HOW DARE YOU PUT $99 WORTH OF Auric cells in the store when your game is really half ass and lacking real depth and balance. Chime in

    I ask you one question.

Do you like bleeding out on the floor, crawling around like a fish on land waiting for your misery to end?

No, they just hide/stay in the match for 30-40 minutes, even if they haven't found me, they just don't want the match to end.

That's just no fun experience, and given the fact that the devs mentioned they'd roll out a new matchmaking system (which I don't think is in place just yet), it's still extremely bothersome and just ruins the experience for me.

Is there anything I can do and does anyone else experience this?

Getting your brown button pushed for ten minutes, over and over. Not my idea of fun.

So what do I need to do to depip with killers i'm good with?

What i'm asking is the emblem thresholds for depip, black pip, and 1 pip. So I can try to keep a running tally of my points in a game, and "keep them low"

In case you want to know why I don't want to rank up. It's simple. I'm not a towel, I don't need that much sweat in my life.

The devs made ranking up too easy. If you wanan depip, you cant play normally anymore.
I suggest running afk games while watching movies etc. (take freddy if you have him, he cant be bullied in the dreamworld)

  • @Orion said:
@Janick I had an idea that could very well solve the majority of frustrations from both sides. It would require hard work from the devs, but I truly believe that if the game is to be truly fixed for both sides, it needs more than band-aid solutions like Hex: Ruin. The game needs to become more complex so that it can be properly balanced.

    This idea would:

    • Revamp the Survivor gameplay to make it less boring.
    • Put SWF closer to solo players.
    • Make the solo players' success almost completely independent of their team's ability, thus eliminating the need for the hatch.
    • Make Killer less frustrating.
    • Eliminate the so-called "death efficiency problem"/snowball effect.
    • Eliminate genrush.

The idea is simple: give each Survivor something different to do during the trial. Let me explain:

    • Each Survivor would have a unique set of goals they'd need to complete in order to escape. This could replace generators entirely or add to them.
    • Survivors who successfully completed all their goals would be able to unlock the exit gates and escape the trial.
    • Survivors who did not complete all their goals would not be able to unlock the exit gates or escape. Even if they went to the exit, the Entity would block their path. This means that Survivors could no longer be carried by their team.
    • Survivors could work together to accomplish their goals, or they could choose to focus on their own goals. Naturally, this carries the risk that those who have not completed their goals will not be able to escape if the Killer catches them working together, but it also means that they can complete their goals more quickly if they work together. However, Survivors would not be able to complete each others' objectives unless the person to whom the objectives belong is working on it at the same time.
    • Auras of all the objectives would be visible to the Killer, color-coded to differentiate between what each Survivor has to do. For example, say there are 3 things each Survivor must do; this means there will be 3 objectives with the same color, another 3 objectives with a different color, and so on.

I know this seems like a lot of work, but I think it'd be worth it in the end. I know you guys (devs) read this, and I know you rarely reply, but if I could get some feedback, I'd appreciate it.

Sure, the new goals need to be more specific of course, but gernally I agree. I always fall asleep when playing survivor. The gen mechanic is an insult for the survivors intelligenec (but maybe they like it that way, I dont know)
