  • The tome challenges were a unique way of meta progression through the rift i have not seen in any other game before. Replacing this creative option for meta progression with quest slop is one of the worst cases of enshittification i have ever seen as a design decision.

I think having quests as an additional option for dailys and events (especially because event tomes felt out of place) is great, but scrapping tomes was a horrible blunder!

I would appreciate @Balrog if you could communicate that feedback with the team, i am sure i'm not the only one feeling that way.

  • The crayon consumer needs his free injure completely removed and his mobility buffed. Another possible tier-up for a fourth leap could be an option.

Also, his crayon-fueled power hitbox going over three tiles and four walls needs to be adjusted heavily.

Lastly, old legion left click spam shouldn't be a thing. If you misclick while aiming your leap and you don't target a valid leap point, you loose your power. I think trying it without a fatigue first to get a feel is fine, but a fatigue as punishment for power misuse could be a possible nerf after my rework suggestions.

Add skill expression, remove uga buga crayon freebies.

  • There is a reason "Dejà Vu" is in my soloq build.

  • I would love to see the numbers getting adjusted live. The numbers of powers and perks should have additional numbers in braces that show the value after diminishing returns. In the killer selection already, assuming all bonuses are active. I just want to see numbers without having to calculate my ass off.

It held 30 seconds after you hit 8 knifes so his old main event was better now its just mess and most of times majority of tricksters rather use s-rank then main event and only use main event when they are low on knifes or s-rank is about to end or they have addons for it but in majority of cases the main event isnt that good on current trickster and people that play him know it.

He isnt best just range version of bubba but worse near hooks and better at loops he can throw over.

You are saying what i am saying basically. He is ranged bubba.

  • Either her condemned power has to be strengthened massively and her chase weakened (4.4 and no passive phasing) or her chase (passive phasing i guess) has to be strengthened and her condemned weakened (only exposed, but no mori).

In either case she has to get out of her hole.

  • We will have 250 cakes per prestige next year, but the BP buff will only be 11%. I cannot prove it but it's true.

Doing them for a split second does not help, All tho suppose you could do chests and totems in areas you know he isn't patrolling may help until you run out (like a dull totem in corner of map)

That's my strategy if i don't wanna get afk crows in drawn out matches. Works well, but most of my soloq teammates dont know that. :(

He could do that before now its good with one addon i believe but hooks arent all so well positioned so he can do it and there are way more killers which have better m2 power for dealing with unhooks not maybe from such range (except maybe jason) but they are better for it, trickster just can damage one guy at the time so before his rework he was way better near hooks with constant threat of a main event then he is now.

His main event was not holdable that long before. He had to hit you a few times in the unhook situation itself before raelly threatening unhooks.

But yeah many killers are better than him at proxy camping, it's just one of the few things he got stronger at after his rework.

  • @Abbzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4097396#Comment_4097396

Thing is main event cant be used like near 20 meters radius around hook and knifes are limited plus you have less of them, anticamp is stronger the longer you are near hook.

Old trickster the 4,6 version could take one health state with 8 knifes and then had guarantee main event every time without any restriction around hooked survivors so new trickster is actualy worse in being proxy then the old one was.

Olny difference is that you cut people down bit faster but on safer high wall loops it takes you longer thats it same killer, very simular with power reworked so only few like him and I havent seem him in long run.

He can down the unhooker from range. With the constant threat of main event combined with the mid range he does not trigger anti-camp while effectively threatening unhooks and forcing survivors to group.

And oh boy does he love grouped up survivors.

  • Try to focus on proxy camping. New trickster is great at area control and unhook/slug pressure due to the ability to hold S-rank/main-event for way longer.

  • I barely use poison for throwing it as killer, it feels bad to use and feels bad to receive the effect. I mostly use it to poison food carts.

I guess the devs had not enough time to design fitting killer menus and plastered a quick power idea onto the killer side to have SOMETHING there.

  • Unhooks are by no means a safe bet against most killers. Basekit BT being a thing in endgame feels quite fair in most scenarios, at least for me.

  • Touch a totem/chest/gen for a split second. There you go i guess.

any thoughts on Vecna? He can fly over pallets, and has addons to exhaust with his orb as well as break survivors

I didn't try him, i only tried the other vecna. In my experience the First (second vecna) suffers from portals a lot. I'm curious about the dnd vecna tho, gonna try him.

  • I'm kinda softlocked into playing jason after survs figured the event out. At the start i played a lot of demodoggo, but i got traumatized after survivors built me an unbreakable house on midwich and held me in my kennel for three minutes before i had a fews seconds to break.

  • Im doing quite well on him i need to admit. Im using his short height a lot tho.

it is hard to believe in general that anyone making high-level decisions for this game is regularly playing public matches under normal conditions, based on the changes often made

Too busy with the wife, the kids and having a life. Unlike me...

  • I think the strongest are haste and action speed. I didn't miss old dead hard.

  • As we have seen with Stranger Things in the past, BHVR does want lost licenses to return. I think sooner or later Myers and Pinhead will return and scalpers will suffer.

  • Dbd is already the fortnite of asym horror.

We will get more and more licenses and collabs softening the line what goes and what doesn't. And thats okay for our silly tag game.

Why not give him the ability to remotely reset a trap with the cost of it taking slightly longer than setting it normally so that he has a proper anti-loop tool for chases. Maybe something like the entity slowly prying open the jaws of a bear trap along with sound queue so that a survivor knows when it’s happening so it’s not completely uncountable. I think it’d be a fun way to sort of integrate iridescent stone into his base-kit

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4097107#Comment_4097107

I like that idea. I just didn't like the "dropping" a trap idea.

on that last point, I think the colour of the traps should be based on the map itself, so for Ormond it would be white or light grey just enough that it can blend in and needs attention to the environment to spot

Yeah, trap color based on the map would open unique trap spots, i think i like that idea.

  • @Domicci said:

I didnt say to increase the trap size and dropping the trap where you want would be a good skill you would still see where the trap will drop when you hold it out like normal you just want stop place it and set it you would just drop it then you can leave while it sets itself

Also have the maps have set colors for the trap instead of picking

Ah i see, yeah ik that case i like the idea of "readying" the trap in your hand.

Set colors would be fine too, less overhead.

  • Let's sort your ideas.

Making shift wrap basekit is a nice idea. I think half of the trapper bag addon value would be sufficient, three traps at a time seem more than enough.

I like the idea of allowing him to collect his farthest trap from a locker. That allows him to use his power effectively, even if he decides to defend an area close to his spawn point.

I think your idea regarding the rework of his trap placement mechanic is not thought through. His trap placement is extremely delicate and sometimes it's hard work to set a trap exactly where it effectively blocks a window for fast and slow vaults for example. Increasing the hitbox of traps is also a dangerous game, because it could allow for locking down areas between close tiles that are not intended and healthy.

All in all i like your first two ideas and would like to add a huge QOL improvement. Remove the ink addons and allow trapper to decide a color intensity for his traps at the start of the trial. That way he can have very light traps on eyrie and very dark traps on gideon.

  • I lately saw the bloody portraits on half my killers snd thought: why are they there? The cut between my killer roster looks weird.

Then i remembered it was supposed to be a reward and i activated it years prior lol.

I think they should just design a specific P100 skin for every killer. You get a bloody version early and a crazy bloody version (creative i know) on your way to P100.

  • I only use AI to find better ways to communicate with kaneki animals. Their language is primitive and foreign. Neural networks help me decode their mating calls and screeches.

  • @cammoking123 said:

How is he not overpowered? Have you ever faced a Hex Jason with Thrill of the Hunt? He can get into chases and still monitor his ruin and devour hope.

Yeah, i agree. Hex builds are too strong on him. Jason himself is not too strong.

  • I use the perks i enjoy playing. I rarely use DS on survivor for example, because i don't enjoy the perk. I dom't mind vsing it as killer tho.

With killers thats another story. I would never touch ghoul again after i've seen the horrors piloting this killer do to the frontal lobe.

  • If you stay in the match to aquire knowledge about the ghoul creatures favourite crayon flavour you can dodge this punishment.

Today i encountered three of these marvelous animals in their natural habitat, hardtunneling some survivor with 34 hours on the clock.

Two of them did not understand my well formulated question, but that is normal. The mental qualities of the population have been in a steep decline since, well, since the release i presume.

One of then answered "blue". I assume "red" and "blue" are the usual favourites, because they subconciously remember the color of their body. Furthermore thinking or logical conclusions are simply too hard for them.

Simple minded, but truly fantastic creatures let me tell you.

  • I found limitless winstreaks in public lobby to be extremely unhealthy for the game. "50 games winstreaks" by a creator we all know is borderline weird, but the recent jason cringe and ongoing blight and nurse cringe is doing damage to soloq.

Those people need to touch grass, play chill in pubs or go scrims only on some smelly discord.

    I'm crazy today.

  • After the portal map is a balance disaster i'm more happy that they don't have that many gimmick bs on maps. Small things like the nostromo slow mist and astronaut easteregg are cool, but gamechanging big gimmicks do not fit well imo.

My only problem is why are they so loud? Hex totems aren’t loud. And they’re much stronger than boons.

Because they have to be much weaker than hexes. And they aren't a oneshot.

This doesn't help after they've activated the banquet buff and go through the portal, which is what's going on in that clip. The portal gives them invisibility when they come out the other side. They could be quite literally anywhere by the time you follow them through.

That is true, you have to guess that they did that. I caught a few survivors that way, but lost many of them too.

I mean, could have been worse. Could have been Uwe Boll directing the movie.

Or Matthias fckn Schweighöfer. We love that guy. Manta Manta and Manta Manta 2 are great. /s

  • I've learned everything about killer gameplay by onetricking nurse from her release until ~2019. Seeing insane survivors and how they play as well as versing them with other, weaker killers (killer-based mmr wasnt a thing) taught me everything i needed to know.

I only really started playing survivor more often in 2018 and quickly developed a crazy good macro knowledge. My mechanical skills as survivor sadly suck till today.

  • Boons are one of the few mechanics that are kinda fine. Not crazy good, not unusably bad.

  • The moderators can do not that much either. They just communicate what the team hands them and take feedback.

Opposed to them i can communicate about cake drop rates. I am certain, that changes to the bloodweb and bloodweb contents over the last year are the reason why the cake amount per prestige is lower than last year, even after the fix.

They did not reduce cakes on purpose. They are just a lil smol indie game company. /s

Im pretty sure cakes will be fixed next year.

  • I can recommend Backpack Battles. Great indie autobattler.

  • Nurse needs a full rework if we are honest to ourselves.

Blight is probably fine if they steal double speed from him in the near future.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

This would just not work. It would make it impossible for some Killers to get games. E.g. most people would probably put Ghoul and Jason on it, so players playing those two Killers will have very long queue times.

You also have to remember that there are 4 Survivors. If they can each "ban" 2-3 Killers, this would mean a Lobby might not face up to 8-12 Killers.

I see that as an absolute win!

Crayon Munchers not getting lobbies sounds like a reason for them to be angy. Maybe after some big, crayon-shaped tears from the killer community our beloved developers will finally realize, that the tentacle hentai crayon vendor just might be really really bad designed and incredibly unfun killer to play against.

Oh and jason would be a sore casualty, yeah.

  • They should just hard nerf all meta perks/items/addons and randomly buff other perks/items/addons more or less. That way we might get a fresh meta.

  • "Guaranteed Offerings"

I think they are not that great at communication. I think the guaranteed offerings per prestige are higher, but the overall offering per prestige are lower than last year.

That could be due to bloodweb and/or bloodweb content changes. I bet they don't know themselves. And that's why we love our little indie game company.

  • Deputy Badge, Coroners Coffee and the exhaustion stone are outliers in his addons for sure.

Badge with Surveillance is especially nasty.

Badge needs to be reworked imo. Coffee is borderline fine, but needs to be weakened and probably split into two addons. Exhaustion stone just needs to be weakened.

  • Thank you for the update mandy!

I am very happy about the cake rarity revert and the bulk/auto bloodpoint spending fix.

I am also looking forward for a future anniversaire event with a banquet for killers too!

Just means that more anti-camp features should be added to the other killers. We should not be rewarding no skill and mindless plays.

What's the purpose of canceling a huntress hatchet wind-up in some closed midwich corridor if a survivor is hooked one floor down in the courtyard near her?

It's clunky, unfun and outright bad design. The whole mechanic needs a rework.

  • Anti-camp features on powers simply make no sense most of the time.

Artist can't proxy a hooked survivor except she can because she can still double birb setup the hook.

Buba can chainsaw without restriction near hooked survivors.

Trickster can main event near hooked survivors without restriction.

All ranged killers can use their power near hooked survivors without restriction.

But woah there buddy slow down, vecna undergate exit near a hooked survivor? Fck you in particular.

    It just makes no sense.
