What keeps you from just doing a gen and taking chase if he comes?
You wouldn't hide from a chainsawing hillbilly in a locker and then complain that his chainsaw does not run out would you.
-
It's been like that for years. Because you as a solo survivor essentially only got roughly a quarter of the power of the killer you don't get to dictate the course of the game that much.
-
Its a fun perk. Yeah.
-
They changed him from a generic chase ranged killer to a great area control proxy camper. I don't enjoy that too, but thats where we are.
-
I had at least one dc today in all of my jason matches. The crowd hates him, but i love him. I also verse him a few times and even escaped two times with soloq mates...
-
People get banned for this. Just not all of them, because some of them are tricky bastards with their foul language.

Pretty sure ya, you still see your red footprints while crouch walking but they stop appearing after a second or two and its around the same time you become protected. At least that is what seems to be happening for me, could be missing some nuance to it though. Would be a lot better if the power description just fully laid this out.
Yeah it's super confusing for survivors, everyone tries different ######### and some of it works. xD

Honestly i se that switch but come on! Xeno needs some love
I think im very bad at xeno tbh. Im especially atrocious at using his map mobility correctly. For some reason i just cant seem to not waste tons of time getting stuck in tunnels or teleporting to nobody.
-
Hot take: i would switch billy and blight maybe.
Xeno higher than myers is heresy i said it.

I am fairly certain you can be crouch walking and not be revealed by killer instinct. My source for this is coming out of OE with someone crouch walking directly in front of me without KI on them. It does take a few seconds after crouching for the protection to kick in though. If that isn't what is happening for you then possibly a bug.
Oh so it's a time thing. I legit thought it's movement, but if i can just crawl around the map i will do that from now on.

They are survivor mains they will ruin jason but ultimately they will ruin it for themselves and go up against high tier killers again
No idea what you ramblin about brother. I believe everyone just wants to have more fun in dbd.
I personally love playing and playing against jason. Others do not. He will probably hit a middle ground after some patches.
Unlike THE CRAYON MAN who has not hit anywhere near a middle ground after more than a year. What, you thought you get a post without the obligatory ghoul hate?

Crouching doesnt counter the killer instinct.
If you dont move it does.

You can make an argument that he is skill based on higher Levels. His Skill Floor on the other hand is very low, since he is just so forgiving.
@Topic:
Yes, Jason is not too strong, he is too forgiving. You can mess up a lot and basically not be punished for it. I mean, just comparing the Range Ability of him to Huntress is a Joke. Huntress (whose only power is having a ranged attack) is 4,4 m/s, Jason is 4,6 m/s with his Haste basically active all the time. Huntress has a Lullaby with a very big Radius, Jason is stealthy and can spawn right next to you. Huntress needs to reload, which makes dodging multiple Hatchets rewarding while Jason does not really get punished for missing, since he can just grab another spear without any penalty or even really going out of his way.
IMO they should put a cooldown on the reloading at Hooks. He has a lot of crates where he can reload, but being able to reload at Hooks without Cooldown is really too much, simply because maps are full of Hooks. Which is fine, because it secures that Killers can get Hooks, but it becomes problematic when the Hooks become a ressource.
I also dont like his Haste. What is the point of having a Killer being 4,4 m/s when he gets 25 seconds of Haste which he can get every 12 seconds?
I agree that he has a very high skill floor. He's easy to be good at but hard to be great at.
In that way hes comparable ti the crayon man...
Goddamit
-
I enjoy playing against him and playing him. He is skill based, that helps a lot.
-
To keep a healthy mental i switch between high tier and low tier killers. That way i can chill on my billy after getting steamrolled as ghostface.
As soloq quentin i have no solution for you. Just accept the fact that you are playing dark souls.
-
I feel like his most common playstyle, at least in my experience revolves around two addons:
- "Deputys Badge" to regress gens passively and sometimes mark them with the perk "Surveillance"
- "Coroners Coffee" to zone survivors with farther spear displacements
Those two addons in combination feel dirty af. Tunneling is semi-common and can be performed using the above strategies.
-
Jason falls into the same category as billy for me if it comes to counterplay.
If the guy playing jason/billy is better than my quentin (not that hard) he will outplay me very fast.
If i'm better than the jason/billy i can waste lots of time dodging spears/chainsaws and get a chase for one or two gens.
I love skill expression. I love feeling like my actions matter.
-
Please give deathslinger some love and make his brown reload, reel speed and missed shot cooldown addons basekit. He feels so sluggish without them.
-
I just hope we dont get another chess merchant or crayon weeb cult around my dear jason.
I love him very much, as survivor and killer.
-
Keep bringing hex perks please. They are very strong. There is no possible COUNTER play. You are basically FORCE d to surrender if you go against a hex build.
-
They should just clearly announce what hardware makes the cut and which does not.
-
Jason is way less problematic than other candidates who are still able to roam the fog for free. He needs minor adjustment on cooldowns, jumpscare speed and wind-up and he will be fine.

Starting every chase directly behind the survivor with a powerful ranged attack and 25 seconds of haste, after being handed infinite stealth, mobility, and information on a negligible cooldown? Skill-based means more than just "well at least its not autoaim".
His "movement speed buff" holds him a bit below base killer movement speed. His power does nor grant information.
But apart from that, yeah. Kaneki has all that without being skill based.
Ay btw, are you in on my wager? Who will get dumpstered first?

That doesn't solve the issue.
You'll have to pre-run every time he uses OE, which kills any efficiency. Not to mention that if he has Ruin, he'll get free regression just for being in OE.
The counterplay to him is very unique, i do agree.
Previously safe gens like the elevated gens on hawkins are actually among the unsafer ones against him.
His power demands a slow match pace and coordination from the survivors.
I agree that he's a very good killer, but i think he's fun and unique.
-
You can also opt to pre-run.
-
You can crouch.
-
I think he's fun and well designed. Probably a great A-tier addition.
-
Hollow Knight. I have no idea how.
-
Get well soon. I lurked for years reading your updates.
-
I don't think captain clark is iconic enough. I'd love a detailed map and an original survivor tho
-
I would prefer no killer for a backrooms chapter.
Only a map and maybe an original survivor.
Backrooms thrives off it's original idea and even though pixels movie is one of the best adaptions out there, no creature that is mentioned in the original creepypasta, hinting scp records or modern adaptions is iconic enough to stand beside the idea of a place that attempts to replicate spaces it feels.

this fog creature reverted everything positive BHVR has done for soloq survivor in the last seven years
Oh and theres a perk now called turn back your cock

New people, please do. Y'all are hard to keep track of.
You're a lifesaver, fellow fog creature.

What i would buff:
- soloq information perks
- cuck merchant 💀
- the possible vertical FOV angle of every killer
What i would nerf:
- popular slowdown perks
- the ugabuga tentacle fethishist
- deep wound mend duration

I should probably add a section for that but on indoor maps or stuff like eerie you just hide your traps on the other side of doorways/obstructions
I'm one of the few masochists who actually plays hag once in a while. At least in my experience survivors either tend to find even well hidden traps on maps like rpd or simply destroy my net while i am occupied with hooking.
Im currently testing out basement and slug strategies. I also find mint rag with aura reading interesting.
-
Spirit needs audiophile headphones and some training, thats all.
Krasue is unplayable without her iridescent addon, that infects everyone at the start of the match. At least in my experience.
-
My fellow fog creature, i take any fresh air over the sewage drain of ghouls i have to endure everytime i play survivor.
-
7 minutes is all i can spare to grab you through a solid wall. Get completely clowned on my dearest fog creature.
-
All fun and games until you get a map with no grass.

I have a few odd stereotypes
- If you play against Sadako its either a baby or OnePumpWillie himself.
- If either Vecna 1.0 or 2.0 spins before casting their spells you WILL lose the match.
- The bloody outfit or the mothman fit for Pyramid Head automatically makes you hit all your shots.
- Sables wearing red are good most of the time, don't expect anything from the rest.
The sadako stereotype matches so well. I never versed a sadako that was mid. They are always either demons with a brain the size of jane or 1 hour andys.

probably some youtuber or twitch star said it
Didn't think about that, i'm way too old. 💀
-
From survivors i versed, they told me to Dead Hard off a Balcony after escaping as a 4man.
From a trickster i versed, he slugged me for four minutes and proceeded to slur me in endgame chat.
For my teammates, they bullied a wholesome nemmy and told him abhorrent stuff in endgame chat im not gonna repeat.
For myself, i ask every ghoul i verse whats his favourite taste of crayon.
-
I feel like the grind is fine. One prestige is achieved fast and thats all you need to unlook the perks of a character for eveyone else.
Iridescent Shards are another story...
-
The anti-camp power stuff just needs consistency across the killer roster. Why can trickster activate main event on top of an unhook? Why does vecnas thorns need three business days to emerge from the ground around a hooked survivors.
The issue that allows for weird balance decisions is consistency.

The Ghoul stereotype comes from Ghoul not being particularly difficult to play compared to their value. It's less a stereotype and more commentary on the low skill floor.
I literally do not understand why it's always a Sable but it is. Unless it's some major confirmation bias. I have definitely come up against some cracked Sables when I've been on killer, though. It's not universal.
Some of my own stereotypes (unsure if true but based on my anecdotal experience):- Springtraps using default skin are either children or completely cracked while being chill. The cracked ones will double hook everyone at 4 gens then play for jumpscares and maybe kill 1 survivor if they bag. However, Springtraps using a paid skin, especially the Blighted skin, play the dirtiest, taking full advantage of Springtrap being one of the best proxy campers in the game. I am the exception as a default Springtrap main that is neither cracked nor a child.
- Eto Neas are usually BM city. Full chase perks + flaslights + bag at every pallet/vault. However, unlike bunny Fengs, they have the skill to back it up, making them my most feared opponents.
- Nic Cages are just in it for the chaos. If the comedic timing is there for it, they will Plot Twist.
- Clowns are not toxic in the slightest, but play full NPC mode. They are joyless.
- I've noticed an uptick in mean Pigs. I feel I missed cute Pig's prime. I suspect it's trauma from pallet density.
- I've never met a Mikaela that is good at the game. This includes me. I main Mikaela.
- Dwight has the same stereotype as Quentin to me. Either complete baby or insane, no in-between.
- David Kings wanna just do their gen. They'll deal with chase but never seek it out.
- Mina players play for the Mori. Trickster players in general have been the ones I've had the most direct toxicity from, excluding Bubba, but Bubba is Bubba so it doesn't count.
- Default Wraiths are babies, Silent Bell Wraiths are bad at chase and every other Wraith is going to test your chase skills to the limit.
- Nemesis tunnels.
- Leons try to be heroes and end up throwing. Adas bring altruism/save perks then proceed never to use them.
The springtrap stereotype is completely new to me. I feel like springtraps are always somewhat different.
Cant really deny the trickster allegations though, they love to be toxic for some reason.
