If you just tap m1 when they're in range, instead of lunging, autoaim will jerk the camera to aim at the survivor and hit them, even if they try to spin.
Oh really? I didn’t know that, thank you! Will this work even if they’ve spun around behind me or do I have to be facing them? Most people arent that great at it but some people are ridiculously good and just run constant circles around me.
Also it’s pretty embarrassing, but I actually do have quite a few hours into this game already lol. I have actually gotten rank 1 as Hag because I am fairly good at trap placement and I run the survivors into them while spamming teleport and immediately swing and it hits them. The ranking system is trash though if someone like me can get rank 1.
Also a SWF that knows what they are doing vs a Hag is brutal. Usually it is pretty easy. I am completely unable to play any killer except Hag though and would like to fix this.
-
I don’t disagree with you that this is annoying, but the obvious response here is to play with a SWF group that you trust. There are several DBD communities out there you can join where you can meet and queue with other players that you have chosen to play with.
Otherwise...yes it sucks when people are bad but you can’t control other people. They’re going to do what they are going to do. Hiding is something you should expect in a game like this, despite the fact that it’s rarely a good strategy.

I don’t understand Legion at all. Can you please explain why healing against it is bad?

I think both sides should be in agreement that the hatch mechanic needs a rework. No one is saying the killer should get a "free" kill, but at the same time, is a survivor that hid in a locker most of the game while his teammates got sacrificed entitled to a "free" escape? A lot of survivors complain about slugging too, and say they shouldn't have to be forced to lay there/crawl around for up to 4 minutes while the killer tries to get his 4k. Survivors in this situation will frequently dc if they see you slug and go looking for the fourth survivor.
This is something that definitely needs fixed, although I'm not sure it needs to be at the top of the list. For now, I think just let it go....if you can go for the 4k, do but if you can't then just let them have the hatch. It's stupid that it has to be that way, but you'll only make yourself angrier if you do a standoff or let it frustrate you.
I think what needs to be at the top of the list now would be bridging the gap between solo survivors and SWF and buffing certain killers that might be C or D tier up to A or B tier. Once more killers are in a decent place, I think they should consider nerfing nurse a bit, but I don't think she should be nerfed until they have buffed the other killers to a good level. Then once all that is done, looking at ways to give survivors more to do than genrush would be good....then maybe once all that is done, they can look at the hatch standoff :P.
-
It should be an option for people who want to use it and you should be able to mute audio and mic separately if you choose not to use either/or. So if you wanted to subject yourself to listening to the idiots you queued with, you can just mute your mic but leave voice chat audio on. If you don’t want to listen, then you should be able to mute the audio (which would auto mute your mic too).
Most solo survivors will not use it for obvious reasons. But I think it should be an option nonetheless.
I wouldn’t mind the ability to hotkey some brief, easy phrases to help in communication though. Like, “The killer is close to the hook! The killer has left the hook! I will get the save. I am too far to save.”
-
It all depends on which killer(s) you prefer to play and your play style and preferences. Personally, I get a lot of use out of Pig’s make your choice as I play killers whose best strategy is often to get away from the hook and then can quickly get back (Hag with hook trap and Spirit with her special ability). Some people really like dying light + a mori. If you are having trouble with decisive strike, stbfl with rancor can be a great combo.
I would agree that in general the Wraith’s perks are all pretty lackluster unless you are a beginner. -
I just save all of mine for dailies. The sad reason I don’t use them otherwise is that the survivors dc on me when I do
.
-
I love Hag; I just hit rank 1 on her tonight. I highly recommend watching Space Coconut’s videos that he posted here. I was stuck around rank 10-12 before I started watching his videos.
I very much disagree with the person above who said she requires tracking perks...I’ve found her to be just the opposite. Either people will set off your traps or they will be crouching everywhere and be slow moving and easier to find. When you do find them, they will be forced to run and set off your traps. I do typically run nurse’s calling but it’s definitely not necessary.
I find play on her to be thrilling, exciting, and strategical. She is by far my favorite killer to play. A lot of survivors tell me it is very scary and fun to play against Hag too, so they get a more authentic horror game experience.

Sometimes if I feel bad for a killer, I will let them hit me. And if they've tunneled me all game and not even managed to touch me once, I'll let them hook me.Wait, you mean those occasional hooks I get from survivors in the exit gates are not because they miscalculated but in fact because I've managed to make them feel that badly because I haven't gotten a single hook all game
? -
I used to just say gg after each game, but now for the most part I just leave instantly. I can't take the heat, so I just don't even give them the chance. If you're better at letting it roll off your back, then just say gg each game and then leave. I say gg every game on survivor and I have defended the killer when fellow survivors were being nasty or accusing him of things he did not do. If he did do it (such as insidious basementface), I just say gg and leave.

I mostly have been playing normally. Respecting the plants (in addition to my subpar skills) has screwed me over, though. A bunch of survivors were happy to keep harvesting their plants while I monitored generators, but as soon as they were done, turned into the toxic little s**ts they were before the event, looping, teabagging, body blocking me, etc. and doing their best to make sure that I don't get any hooks.
After having that happen to me several times, I mostly just play normally. I main hag and I do not trap the plants and I only patrol generators, but if I'm on the path from one gen to the next and you're at a plant, you'd better run. Honestly though, Hag's kit basically has built in event respect with benefits to both parties -- I get to lay all 10 traps carefully instead of hastily placing down 5 or 6 and hearing the first 1-2 gens go off, and they get their nectar. Everyone wins.

@Wraff said:
Why would it get weaker the more gens they complete?Because it rewards the survivors for doing gens with more people being affected.
It's a good thought, but I feel like this would be too strong vs. SWF (as would most things). They could easily assign the affected people to do chases and saves and the unaffected people to do gens, so it would negate the perk.
-
I don't think anyone denies that it needs to be addressed. In the meantime, though, it sounds like you need to just hit the survivor and let them have it. You know it's going to frustrate you and make you angry, and you know it's not fair but you also know your only options are to sit there for forever in a standoff or just let them go. So.....for now, just let them go. Hope something changes. Maybe don't spend any more money on the game until it gets fixed.
-
Yeah, I noticed that too. I thought I was just too slow to move or something. Why would they do that, though?
-
It depends on what your definition of "bad" is. Is a survivor who is good at looping, pallets, windows, chases, etc. "bad" because they are abusing game mechanics or "good" because they can avoid getting hit for long periods of time? Is a survivor who plays more immersed and is better at losing the killer during a chase in which they've only been hit 1 time and can then heal up "good" for playing the game more as intended or "bad" because they are stealthing around the map instead of running in the open?
You can see how the answer is very much opinion-based. Personally, although I have gotten to rank 1 on survivor, I consider myself bad because I am not able to do pallet looping or chases and I tend to play more immersed. I think the survivors who can do the long chases are much more skilled than I am. But I run self care about 70% of the time. The other 30%, I either have a med kit (or a chest perk to get one, such as pharmacy or plunderer) or I rely on Bond to bring me to my teammates who can heal me back up.
Most of my self care usage ends up being because the killer ran back right after I got unhooked so I have to book it out of there before the person who saved me can heal me back up.
I would agree it's a boring perk and I would say anyone who plays SWF should not need it. But "good" and "bad" unfortunately in this game is very subjective and depends on your opinion of how it should be played.
-
Killers should be entitled to 4 kills if they played well enough to kill all 4 people. This is really just a game design problem, as killers can only get 4 kills if the fourth player hasn't yet found the hatch when they go to hook the third player, or they know right where the fourth player is and can get to them before they get to the hatch. It's ridiculous to think that a killer could outplay 4 people in a 1v4 and the fourth player gets a free out, why?
I think a lot of it just has to do with the fact that this is a flawed game and a lot needs to change before it is fun for all and relatively fair, at least most of the time. It's not really the killer's fault for wanting 4 kills if they outplayed everyone, but it's also not fair to the survivor to have to wait on the ground for up to 4 minutes to either bleed out or have the killer get back to hook them.
Personally at this point, unless I know the fourth survivor is right there and I can get to them quickly, I just hook the third person and then run around looking for the fourth. Most of the time they get the hatch, but it seems to be the most fair solution to everyone given what we have to work with at this time.
Now on the other hand, SWF where the third person DCs on my shoulder while I'm carrying them to the hook so that the fourth person can immediately take the hatch and then I only get 2 kill plus quitter bonus.....yeah, that pisses me off.

I'm not a guy and yes, I am a newbie (purchased the game just over 3 months ago) :P. And yes, I'm complaining that I am a rank 1 survivor and should not be....I am terrible at the game. And yes, I also said in my post that getting rank ups on my killer was harder (I'm only rank 6 on it, although I haven't played it as much lately and have been steadily climbing on that as well).
@akbays35 said:
Thing is, objectively you are playing the game well and playing how this game was probably intended. This was intended more for hide and seek and not just parkour/360/looping. Really 'chasing' is actually abusing map locations.Yeah, if looping was actually not intended then I guess I am playing the game how it's supposed to be played. I generally run windows of opportunity and run to the nearest pallet or window if caught, jump through it/pull it down, and then keep running until I'm caught.
If that's the case, though, then literally anyone could play the game well, because I feel there's not any skill required except in chases. There's maybe a tiny amount in keeping an eye out for the killer and avoiding getting caught in the first place, but that's mostly crouching around line of sight blockers....and you generally can't get any points towards the "chase" emblem that way, unless the killer is really bad and just cannot find you at all while you're within his terror radius.
-
Yeah, sometimes the less skilled survivors will claim you are tunneling them when in reality you are simply running into them more. If the same survivor keeps setting off my traps, I'm going to teleport and hit him, even if I haven't hit anyone else yet. Learn to crouch, use a flashlight, or stop whining :P.
-
Yes, more of them get blocked off as the paths are randomly generated in each map. They were trying to prevent some of the infinite loops, especially in the larger buildings.
-
Window of Opportunity
Bond
Exhaustion perk (usually Dead Hard, but could also be Sprint Burst or Lithe)
Literally any other perk; I like to switch things up. Frequent ones are: Self Care, WGLF, Plunderer's Instinct, We'll Make It, and Borrowed Time. -
I main Hag, and I enjoy both playing as and against her. I know her weaknesses, so I love urban evasion-ing around with a flashlight and destroying the ruin totems of a fellow Hag ;P.
I hate playing against the Hillbilly. At least the nurse's blinks give me the (often false) illusion that I could maybe get away or juke them. On Hillbilly it's just VRRRRRRRRRRROOOOM dead.

I don't play Trapper at all so I can't give you specific tips, but I've played this game for 3 months and all I've learned is that when you see the survivor with the brightly colored shirt and flashlight wiggling around near a loop to get your attention....DON'T DO IT. You know you want to; they look so tasty and sometimes if you're slow to bite, they'll even give you a free hit. They have decisive strike and/or dead hard, so they can afford to give you that one hit. Hit them if you must, but DON'T FOLLOW. Unless (and I main Hag, so I assume this is similar advice for you) you happen to have a trap somewhere in their loop that they may not know about
.If you play trapper or hag against a SWF and are in the position that you have to ignore a certain survivor, then you already lost because you will never be able to use your power.
Thanks to coordination, the team always knows where your traps are ....Pretty much, yeah. Occasionally there will be a SWF team with only 1 strong team member trying to carry the rest, though, and I might be able to do something to the weaker members. A lot of times if I choose to chase someone, though, and I injure them and they are approaching a pallet and trying to loop, if I put down a trap in the middle of a chase and try to go around and chase them into it, an uninjured survivor will suddenly dart in and set off my trap. Rinse and repeat as needed. Eventually I'll have 4 injured targets and if I down one of them, the others have flashlights and/or body blocks. That is if I'm not already right underneath a pallet that hasn't been dropped yet.
....Yep, good times :P.
-
Yeah....#########. I just hit red rank on survivor (4)....I have no idea how to loop. I still run windows of opportunity because I literally couldn't find a single pallet or window even if it's right in front of me. I frequently go down before I hit my dead hard, and mostly I just crouch around the map and run Bond so that when my crouching fails, I can run the killer into the nearest gen that has survivors on it and hope they get distracted and lose me.
...And despite all of this, I've had recent games against red rank killers with red rank survivors with me where I get the most points and survive....lol. So it's not like I'm playing with a bunch of geniuses and am somehow the dumba** of the group getting carried.
I've never lost a single killer by a legit method, or survived beyond 1 or maybe on rare occasions 2 pallet drops. And yet I get accused of playing "immersed" just because I'm a Claudette and don't run around in the open....I don't hide, either. I literally just run around doing gens, moving as necessary if someone in a chase gets too close. If I think I can get a safe save, I will. If I don't, I keep doing gens.
-

When I first bought the game, I did a quick google search of which killer was the easiest for noobs to play. Top results said Billy and Wraith (lol I don't know why). I tried Billy for like 2 games, kept running into walls with chainsaw sprint, and decided to do Wraith. I did terribly on him, but grinded to level 50 (rank 18-20 the entire way), at which point I looked up what the best perks for killers were. Ruin was at the top of the list, so at first I got Hag specifically for Ruin and didn't play her.
I played a bunch of killers along the way for varying lengths of time, but mostly did not play Hag because everything on the forums said she was bad. I eventually tried a few games with her (this was pre-buff) and fell in love with the style. It was perfect for someone like me, who enjoys logic puzzles and strategy games, but fails at anything that requires aiming or depth perception. I claimed her as my main and about a month after that she got buffed and I was ecstatic.
I am terrible at straight up chases, so that's why I main killer Hag and survivor Claudette :X.

Yes, there are numerous other issues with SWF.However, it's 2018 and we play games with our friends. It's insane to think that we don't or won't and it's frustrating when you have to rebuild your party after every game. I don't normally play SWF and, in fact, haven't' in over a year since my wife stopped playing the game but it sucked and I don't get how they haven't fixed this in the 2.5 years the game has existed.
Yeah....it's kind of silly how people are saying SWF shouldn't have this just because they hate SWF group lol....I've been harassed and bullied by plenty of SWF, but I wouldn't begrudge them this tiny QoL change XD.

It can sometimes take a min or longer to find the totem, destroy it, and then get back to the exit or rescue someone off the hook or whatever, and they typically try to encourage people to go back for the save if someone is hooked when exit gates are open. They'd also end up having to re-work perks like bloodwarden.
Also, assuming you play Pig from your avatar, if anyone still has a bear trap on at the end of the game, sometimes the other survivors might stay to make sure they can get out safely, either by removing their trap or via the hatch. It's not always toxic play to stay in beyond 1 min is what I'm saying.
But I do agree something needs to be done....I'm just not sure what. Or if they'll ever do it.

I think the guy is brilliant myself.
BTW, I generally don't trust farming killers. I usually just open the gates and get out. I prefer facing the ruthless types that force me to play my best. In fact, I used to report the farmers regularly as there was a button for it.
What you say is quite a thing... so now it's the fault of the ppl trusting others if they get hurt not the ones doing it?
Hmmm. Hope you don't really think it's the fault of the victim for real. That's an awful way of thinking in general.
And if you think that, please keep away from ppl and don't tell them your opinion, like just never...
Okay, now you're either trolling or have some serious emotional disturbance where you can't separate a game from reality. If anything, it's sick for anyone to compare a violent, gory game like DBD to real life.
-
Farming is against the rules and (as far as I know) a bannable offense. If the killer allegedly pretends like you guys are farming and you choose to participate, it's your own fault if you get killed instead.
-
I didn't even know it was rude tbh....I thought I was just swinging as I waited for the match to end and there was nothing else to do. That was when I first started the game. Now that I am Hag main, I just spam put down traps for extra points.

@Serabeth90 I get the logic you're going for w tharanphobia but it doesn't really do much. At 2 it does less than failing a skill check. If you don't need ruin you should try my current build, it fits your style. Nurse's, sloppy, claurophobia and M&A. If you're really used to ruin I guess take out claurophobia for it. Tell me how it works for youThanks! I will have to try that build once I get Coulrophobia...I have the clown, but no points into him yet. I also liked your post about being more simple with trap placement. A little of it I had figured out on my own after a few games of frustration where I would put a single trap right under a window or right next to 1 side of a pallet and of course as soon as the survivor set it off, they jumped to the other side :X....better to place a few meters away from the path you know they will run when you're behind them and basically pushing them towards the trap.
I get frustrated sometimes because I feel like I am very clumsy and bad. But as I played more I came to realize that even someone like me that has slower reflexes and poor aim can win on the Hag if I think ahead of time and trick them into taking the paths that I want them to take. I've really enjoyed her and if I hadn't started playing her I think I would've given up on killer altogether. I can't do stuff like skillshots (Hillbilly -- I run into walls) or blinking to a survivor (Nurse -- I can't even).
-
I'm a Hag main, and my general strategy is defensive: I usually set up my traps in a fairly localized area of the map containing several points of interest, including at least 3 generators and usually a large building that survivors enjoy using to loop me. If possible, I'll try to trap my totem but I have lost games by going way out of my way to trap it and having a generator be already done by the time I am ready to start setting up in an area.
After I set up, I generally try to cause mayhem within the focused area. This means if I down a survivor and another trap is set off, I will teleport before hooking that survivor. Same thing if I see nearby survivors. If I injure a survivor and they run off to some obstacle I have not trapped in order to loop me, I generally let them go, unless I need some momentum in the game or I know there's a generator at least partially complete over there.
I've been known to have all 4 people tagged (injured) before actually downing someone, and this is perfectly fine with me as I run perks (listed below) to greatly slow healing and repair speed while people are bleeding. I replace traps as necessary and almost never go on long chases. This style of play I think causes maximum fun for both me and the survivors and most of my games are very fast paced (after initial setup).
Usual perks: Ruin, Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, x
x = usually make your choice, but other options are nurses calling, remember me, monitor and abuse, or another hex perk such as devour hope....or you can turn your totems into another point to defend (since they will not rest until they get your Ruin) and use thrill of the hunt....you can also slug a lot with this style of play, so deer hunter can help....pop goes the weasel can work if you guard your ruin and really patrol generators hard.Usual addons: shackles are great -- after that, increases teleport distance (fly addons) > reduces time it takes to set traps (necklace addons)
I haven't leveled Spirit up yet, but I may try hallowed ground with Ruin to see how that goes....teleporting around when everyone has exposed status might be amazing. Even if they get the ruin first, they may suspect one of Hag's other hex totems when they see the other two and not know it's hallowed ground.
-
I don't have hard and fast rules that I stick to, but I generally follow this as far as camping/tunneling:
1) If someone does an unsafe hook, kill the person who did it and let the survivor who was hooked escape
2) If they set off a trap when going for the unhook, teleporting in is fair game. If they don't set off a trap, I let them heal/run away, assuming there are still generators to be done.
3) If by chance I end up chasing the same survivor several times in a row and they are on their third hook, I will drop the chase if I see someone I haven't hooked nearby (or teleport away if a trap is set off), assuming there are still generators to be done.
4) If they want to do a hatch standoff, I'll wait like 5 seconds and then let them have it. No time for that s***.That's about it. If I am having a difficult time of it (usually SWF), anything is fair game. If they are having a difficult time of it, I'll drop chases on 1 person just to apply some spread pressure (I spec thanatophobia/sloppy butcher for this purpose).
-
I think it's fine as is....the Killer can't be at all 3 exits at once. Hide, watch, and wait for your chance to escape. It's far from a free mori, and it benefits you during the trial to be able to see where the killer is after each generator is done.
-
I agree with until it has 1 token, not until survivors get exposed. There is no reason for it to be lit before it has any tokens, though. I think it should be like NOED, where when you get a token, if any dull totems remain on the map, 1 will be lit.
-
I usually ignore them, but pretend I'm not if I see them doing something I don't want them to do (like healing, generators, totems, etc.)....I'll chase them for a bit halfheartedly but actually be keeping an eye out for other survivors. I like to waste the main flashlight/rainbow coat survivor I am meant to chase's time as much as possible.

The majority of the people who play Dead by Daylight are (hopefully) 18+. This means that many of us have obligations to work to pay for rent on apartments or make mortgage payments, maybe gas money. All in all, we don't have piles of free time just lying around.I for one am in my college years right now. I think I have seen other users mention schools such as a Pig and a Quentin whose names I won't disclose. Being a student reduces my playtime so every suboptimal game hits harder than when I was relaxing over the summer.
Overall, this game's got a heck of a grind, and when we feel we've had our time wasted we can be, difficult.
I know what you mean, but a lot of the issues are with the game design and not actual players. You can hope that people are nice and play in a manner generally accepted by the community as "sportsmanlike." But camping and tunneling are not bannable offenses and the game kind of encourages that behavior in a way. Sometimes in order to be "nice", I have to actively continue to hunt the other survivors when I get a notification that my hook target has been rescued. Also if I don't have a hook by the time 2-3 gens are done and the survivors are keen on quickly rescuing each other, I can profit more by tunneling 1 person to take them out of the game.
If I get angry because someone repeatedly camps me on a hook, my anger (mostly) goes to the game developers. If I get annoyed enough, I'll stop playing the game. At no point will I further waste more time by harassing and getting into pointless arguments and trading insults with people on the internet.

For many of us, a brutal and gory game like this is a way to vent our daily frustration. Some of us (a large number I think) is still able to keep it civilized. And there's those who can't. It's not so hard to ignore the latter though. I would suggest to decide whether you're here for kind words or a game.
Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware how humiliating it can be when someone adds insult to injury, but some people are like that and they're not likely to change.
Your name suggests you're a gal, and generally girls take it even harder, but just think about it this way: the guy who insults you after game is probably some unsuccessful, miserable, Mom's basement type of loser, more likely to be pitied than hated by others in RL. And please don't expect much from reporting, save for the most obnoxious ones or RL threats and the like. The right action is not to look for protection, just to get tougher.Everyone else seems to be saying that reporting works, but I have mostly not been using this feature. Especially not after I read that we are not supposed to report people who dc because that's an automated process to target those people. The only time I've sent a report on someone for something other than a dc was actually when I was a killer and a survivor was directing hatred, racial and other slurs, and telling another survivor to go kill themselves IRL because they dared to leave the game instead of unhook them.
You're right, though, to some extent. I need to just grow thicker skin and either not participate in chat or ignore all the vitriol. My boyfriend told me much the same when I complained to him that people were being mean to me in a video game lol XD. It just makes me so upset, though, because I know that I always treat people online in a friendly manner and with respect, or I don't engage at all. Like, a killer tunnels me the whole game, causing me to depip, while the rest of the team does generators and escapes? I'm super p***ed and I'm thinking he's a baddie for needing to tunnel me just to get 1 kill. But I don't say this; I simply leave the game after dying.
And yet it's not so much the words I had an issue with as getting harassed and farmed in game by two fellow survivors that were creating loud noise notifications and body blocking me when the killer came. One of them even managed to hook farm me as he instantly got me off the hook in front of the killer even though I had planned to not press space bar when it wanted me to struggle.

Yeah this actually happens all the time. I am a newer player, so I figured I had missed some sort of rule about fast vaults or was doing something incorrectly, or maybe a perk or something idk. Didn't know it was a bug.

Uh, tell the guy who quit he is a lot more likely to get banned for what he did than what you did.
Also, you can only get banned for that if you are deliberately working with survivors to farm bloodpoints instead of playing the actual game. A single game with two disconnects is not a game at all, and no one would blame you for letting the two that stayed win.

Lol....my first game today via the Spirit, the obsession disconnected once downed and I thought of this post XD. The second game, the obsession got mori'd and complained about how OP it was in chat until the killer left.

Not really, but for whatever reason I notice that Davids are either easier to find or generally lower skilled players, because it seems I am constantly running into them (or they into me) on killer. So if I scatter a group of 3 players off a generator and one is a David, I probably choose to chase him, because I figure my odds of downing and killing him are greater than chasing the others.
After that, I go after anyone in bright clothing, and generally anyone who is not a Claudette, because I am blind and can't see them.

Might have something to do with the fact that the beginning of the match is a free for all in trying to out-hide one another to see who gets caught first. That’s what probably ignites the salt early on.I noticed survivors spread out in the beginning trying to make sure that they are not the first one caught, while at the same time hoping the guy who is caught first knows how to loop. Usually doesn’t and that’s why there are quitters.
This happens all the time. The first guy caught either disconnects once downed, or if he is bad at looping and gets downed early, someone else disconnects because they've decided we're all trash and they don't want to play with us. At that point, if the downed person does not disconnect in response to the first one, he usually bleeds himself out on the hook.
But yeah, survivors are a$$holes. If someone farms me one time, shame on them. But if I see them coming in to farm me a second time, I'll let them come in close and release the space bar as soon as they go for it. Why should I be there just to give them unhook points? F*** that.
And to all killer mains out there: we would love if you would be so kind as to punish the hook farmer instead of us. I understand you're not obligated to and it doesn't always happen, but I always have more fun games with killers that will let me get away and chase the unhook farmer instead.

You can choose to do whatever you want. I would think that a minute is a little bit long to be circling around a hook, unless you think you saw someone and are searching for them, or you have a perk like whispers that is telling you someone is near. While you can obviously check nearby line of sight objects for hook farmers, if you don't know that someone is there, it's generally considered more sportsman-like to start patrolling generators again after hooking someone. After all, if you really did circle the hook for a full minute, then the survivor would've passed from phase 1 to phase 2 of the sacrifice without a survivor having a chance to safely unhook them.
Perhaps the rules are different for Freddy since a survivor not in the dream state can literally run in and unhook the survivor without getting hit, but generally that's done at the cost of being put into the dream state.
Nonetheless, if you want to face camp him, you can do so. You can literally do whatever you want, except camp the same player across multiple games, as that is considered harassment. So you could do what I do and just type "gg" and/or leave immediately after each game and not worry about the salt.

I'm not a high rank killer (usually around rank 12, plus or minus 2), so this may not work at higher ranks, but I've had good luck with this:
1) Hag
2) Addons: Rusty Shackles + Dried Cicada
3) Perks: Ruin/Sloppy Butcher/Thanatophobia/x
x can be one of the following: Make Your Choice/Nurse's Calling -
I still can't see it even when I go to 0:09
. This is why I suck at killer lol. -
Claudette because I like playing stealthy. I have been playing Kate a little bit more because I am a beginner survivor and like her windows perk. I ended up getting her green and brown top, brown hair, and long jeans to make her a bit stealthier since that is how I play, and while she'll never be as stealthy as Claudette, I have felt the difference a little in that I seem to be a bit more difficult to spot. I wish I could remove the necklace with the bright turquoise pendant, though, because it's kind of like a beacon that can be seen from afar.

I don't like the idea of buffing bloodlust. Killers are already faster than survivors (or have abilities which allow them to reach the survior), so I don't think it's fair to survivors for a killer to be able to overtake them in this way, by becoming faster and faster. I'm a killer main that is not very good with survivor and often gets caught pretty quickly, but the few times I do manage to play well, I enjoy the mind games with pretending I am heading in 1 direction and then hitting crouch, vaulting, and creeping off the other way...it would take the fun out of it for me if the killer simply got faster and then no matter what I did, they could overtake me.
It is a very one-sided mechanic that basically rewards bad killers who are unable to reach their target simply by having them continue to chase the survivor long enough that blood lust will let them win the chase. Whereas survivors get no such bonus if they are able to evade the killer for long periods of time, especially after nerfing exhaustion perks so they can't regain sprint burst during a chase (note: I am not saying that exhaustion perks shouldn't have been nerfed; I am just comparing this to blood lust).

Disconnects are tracked automatically by the game. You don't report those as the disconnect banning is an automated process.Okay, thanks. I think they should clarify that both in the post and in-game, because right now when I click the thumbs down option next to someone's name, a list of reportable offenses by category pops up and under the "unsportsmanlike" category, it lists rage quitting as one of the reportable offenses. Unless rage quitting is something other than disconnecting?
