    SOUND DESIGN!

Have they ever made a bad piece of chase music? Terror radius theme? Pallet breaking sound? (looking at you sadako) even the default chase music is great in its own way. I can already tell they are going to nail it again with the new legion music + add ons... whoever does the sound at BVHR, I wish I could buy them a beer

Ahh yes I do love the duck sounds when I 360 a spirit

  • I don't like Gideon Beat the Meet plant. It's just eh.

I also don't like sheltered woods, it's a giant dead zone, butttt.... I also love it cause it's prob most OG map. It reminded me of 2016 dbd good ol days

  • @RavenBirb said:

I'll put my top 3 I wish were changed or updated, this game is great but I wish we could start to move away from the whole "running in a circle" in any given chase ever feature some of these maps got going on. I understand it's like one of the few things to lose the killer but I just wish there was other safe zones to use or something than running in circles.

    1. SWAMP
    2. Auto haven Wreckers
    3. Red Forest/Coldwind

That's like half the maps bruh

  • CONTROLLA PLAYA HES A CONTROLLA PLAYA! Only real gamerz know that one

  • @GannTM said:

So just last night, my wireless mouse's battery was running low so I was like "######### it, I'll get the controller out." I played a few killer games with it and was crying on the inside. Console players, you guys all have my massive respect. How do you all deal with this pain on a regular basis?

3k hour survivor main, 500 hour nurse main. I play on ps4. Ps4 nurses just somethin else. 360 is also hella easy on controller

  • Also I would like to add that for all the people talking about how trickster is more realistic... I really don't see how because you really don't see people walking around murdering people with throwing knives and a futuristic bat. You more see machetes and knives. There are even axes in a couple popular murder cases. Trickster is to the point of futuristic instead of modern

  • I guess I didn't take in count the lore. The lore is very good I can't disagree with that, but I'm mostly just talking about his design and power. I mean cmon he has a bat from the future and glowing knives.

  • @BuffTrickster said:

    No. Just no.

I presume you must also think the e-girl outfits so many female survivors get also don’t fit in? The onesies? The short skirts? Shirtless David? The cosplay outfit Joey has? The e-girl outfits Susie has? The fact Susie is some shy girl with braces and pink hair?

In fact, the whole concept of Legion is much more ridiculous and unrealistic to me than Trickster. I can list numerous other things that don’t fit in.

You know serial killers in real life don’t actually look like movie slashers, yeah? You’re more likely to be killed by someone that looks normal rather than a crunchy skinned mouth breather wearing a mask.

If his flashy appearance bothers you, you should be aware that in the K-Pop industry, musicians such as him very often dress in flamboyant and attractive clothing, make-up, and accessories for the stage and appearances. It’s the job. For both male and female.

Bruh what. A survivor outfit is much different from a killer outfit imo. I'm just saying k-pop and tricksters specific style dosnt fit the game. Plus most killers in real life don't have glowing knives and a futuristic bat 💀 Don't need to get all personal

  • That's a whole separate game. I'm sorry to break it to you but their will never be a new mode in dbd.

    Plus I also don't want a 100 GB download

    But cool ideas

  • I'm just trying to say that killers use the same perks every game as survivor. And maybe corrupt was a bad example, but what about surge hook or starstruck or any other very commonly used killer perk that is considered "meta."

  • Nether. You can't just go ahead and put a insainly strong perk in base kit that wouldn't work. But instead make a weak perk base kit. Like lethal pursuit or fire up. Don't underrated fire up base kit.

  • If bt was base kit it would only be like a 5 second endurance timer I would think. It's just to stop insta tunneling. It isn't that strong if you don't tunnel. So saying corrupt base kit aswell is ridiculous imo.

I've said this on a post before but fire up base kit for killers would be the most underrated killer buff ever, but so so effective. People would never see it coming

  • @graveyard_7777 said:

I'd choose old ruin 100% would help with gen rushing

What the hell. I hope you're joking.

  • Idk. I fee lethal is a waist because it's such a quick one time use perk that gets you what? 1 hook at start of game, while other perks are much better time savers.

For me I play survivor so much I have a general idea where other survivors spawn and how spread out they are.

  • Why is sweaty a word. Sweaty means trying. Everyone is sweaty at a game unless they ain't trying at all

  • @BadZilla said:

Well the more of us joining survivor the less killers you have to go against that will eventually lead them to buffing killer role

That's not gonna happen tho. Killer won't just die. It's fun, it's just that one match that a killer gets bullied they come here and complain. Same as survivor

  • @EntitySpawn said:

You could make alot of perks base tbh.

But dont mess with the pickup speed, I really dont wanna learn 5 pickup speeds and many pickup animations just for a flashlight save...

That's my one issue with this, dont care about the rest lol

    Yeah I did mention that

I play killer mainly and I lost my ######### due to mmr and dead hard I don't know how this game used to be before mmr was introduced but I only started playing shortly after it so all my games had it ... First of all every game is sweaty the same 4 perks over and over and over mainly dead hard everyone is using it and form my experience playing online video games developers were always adjusting and balancing the game and the thing is whenever a perk or ability or an item is over used in any other game on the cost of the other ones it gets nerfed immediately so there is a balance and all playstyles are equal but this perk is just torture and pain as soon as I started red ranks my mmr skyrocketed it was so much fun before going against normal beginner players I enjoyed playing all killers then slowly I dropped every killer I had fun playing because they were useless m1 killers can't end a chase and don't let me started on gen rushing and boons even running a meta build of ruin undying and playing nurse or blight or huntress first all my hex perks get cleaned 1 second into the match because a survivor spawns directly near them then the other boon meta survivors are searching 24/7 for totems to bless so before and now it's 200% higher chance that survivors will find your totems and I'm only facing 5000 hours players same names keep showing up to me toxic sweaty swf every other match they use dead hard so basically 3 health states and if you keep chasing all gens are done if you give up and try to patrol that survivor will get on a gen it's mental torture why this game is so survivor sided ? I'm barely lvl 107 now but I had enough of killer it's too much and you think bloodpoints are good enough to make anyone play killer? if you tunnel you lose the game and end up with 1 kill if you don't tunnel 4 survivors can easily escape plus the clicky clicky tbagging bullies and Decisive strike and the terrible field of view and dark maps where you can instantly lose sight of Claudette's and survivors wearing black and maps are too big to patrol there is nothing you can do as a killer to win unless you're a 7k hours nurse main that never misses a blink or something the average player that wants to climb or have any fun has no chance I was lucky to hit rank 4 as my highest rank I couldn't do it anymore when ever I'm finally able to down someone they dead hard that's a whole new chase and everyone is body blocking hooks and sabotaging them how are you supposed to hook someone 3 times with all of this ? and they won't even let you do it body blocking you and sabotaging your hooks I just want to enjoy the killers I love playing why everyone is forced into nurse blight spirit to even have a chance and considering how difficult these killers are I'm not seeing any difference so I'll just try survivor for now until this state changes

Looks like you're not going to be playing killer for the next 100 years.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

if it had buffed numbers and maybe added in some new stats to buff then sure

So in case you didn't know, there are 233 Daily Rituals in Dead by Daylight. 125 Survivor Rituals and 108 Killer Rituals. So why am I getting the same 5 over and over again? Seriously, what's the explanation for this? Also, while I'm at it, why can you finish a ritual and then a couple hours later when Rituals respawn can you get the EXACT SAME RITUAL. This happened tonight with Rite of the Oni. I finished Rite of the Oni probably 30 minutes before Daily Rituals refreshed and I got Rite of the Oni again. Seriously? There's 233 rituals and it rolled the same one? Is it possible that after you complete a ritual, you can't get that same ritual for another week? Seriously, I should have just completed a ritual and get it again a few hours later/the next day.

Not that big of a deal... devs arnt going to spend 3 months working on rituals.

Come ye toxic survivors and entitled killers of this forum and answer me this riddle which hath plagued me for so long -

What's the deal with clicking your flashlight once and then trying to 360? Because I've seen this plenty of times in the past but more often recently...

I confess it may be possible that despite playing since 2018 I might, occasionally, as killer, sometimes, and definitely not all the time, now and then, once in a blue moon get 360'd (and not often, I simply cannot stress this enough)

But honestly literally never with this, because the singular click is a statement of your intention to do it...and then I expect it...and then you go on the floor

So what is this, is there some tactical element I'm missing?

It's actully easier to make a killer miss if you do this. Clicking the flashlight faces you forward so then a nice and easy spin can be done and the killer wiffs

Why is he playing this game if he has epilepsy? Although I do not know if dbd addresses this in its policy

I been playing killers who don't give 1 eff about CoH.

And Hag is fundamentally hit-and-run unless the survivor happens to wander too deep into your web. And hit-and-run is totally dead.

Hag in particular suffers from CoH especially hard since she can't really go snuff it and AND gets all her pressure robbed by it. Her and Twins are probably the most impacted killers.

I used to play a ton of hag but even now i'm not that naive to think she's nearly as viable anymore.

I am sure she can still beat mediocre players fine but against a good team they are just gonna run back to the boon infinitely every time you hit someone. Good teams already did that; but now the power is in the hands of the solo Q teams as well.

    Valid point.

  • I must just be cracked at her or smth cause she's amazing

  • I realized that sorry. And yes you make a valid point. I do wonder what the game would be like without dead hard. I'm a survivor main and I honestly wouldn't care

  • @DyingWish92 said:

I wish the devs would show the usage rate of this perk like they did with old Ruin when they nerfed that.

Old ruin was like 80% of all red ranks games and 45% of all games. I bet dead hard has that beat. Pretty much every single killer game I play minimum 2 people have this perk equipped and usually 3 with the 4 sometimes.

isn't this a problem from a gameplay standpoint when there are so many other perks in the game?? When I play survivor I don't run into killers running noed, Corrupt, or other killer meta stuff EVERY SINGLE GAME like I do with DH.

It's an anti tunnel perk don't tunnel. If survivors have it but never get to use it (because you didn't tunnel) then it's useless and therefore an empty perk slot

  • @OpenX said:

Playing Hag in the world of CoH? Gross.

Still stomps bad players I am sure, but what about when they just have a boon sitting outside your 3 gen and you can never get a down?

Not sure how I would handle that situation, since i've never played Hag since CoH came out. But to me it sounds like torture and that's exactly why I haven't played her since boons were released.

She's better than boons. Coh sucks to go against as any killer

  • Interesting. I find her enjoyable but that's my opinion. I'm just sayin I believe hag is the best way to get a max amount of kills. Like freddy was before nerf. Hella boring but really good

  • @Hoodied said:

Though this perk needs no introduction because its monstrous shrine, I am still giving it one just incase people genuinely forgot this perk existed

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CLX53QG1EKV4/image.png

This is monstrous shrine, saying its weak is just you feeling bad that this perk only gets use if you have a campfire story starting up in the basement cause trust me you are not getting this perk to work otherwise because it only works in the basement (Which makes me curious on if you can actually fail a deliverance usage because of the self-unhook difficulty)

But if you wanna know how much this makes acceleration faster on sacrifice progression

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TG9CRY91KD25/image.png

iirc every hook stage is a minute long, full sacrifice is 2 minutes, you are saving an incredible 10 seconds at tier 3 if the survivor is in basement and is being camped without them DCing or killing themselves on hook

Now then lemme bring this up as this is more or less just me being weird about how tomes are set up, it will need to be a scourge hook with better numbers if this perk will get any usability but now camping is gonna be a huge problem, so if this one perk gets changed that means something will have to happen to work around the concept of camping as camping is a way of eliminating a survivor, and toying with how fast one perk can eliminate a survivor can be problematic as it could result in the perk being used every single game, and in a game like dbd I am almost 100% positive the same few perks shouldn't be used every game so every perk can be monitored properly and prevent 1 perk getting a buff and resulting in another becoming extremely broken with it, this is a post about MS but somehow this one perk cannot be buffed without looking into other perks around how hooks work as well, which requires camping to be looked into, which will result in anti-camp perks also being looked into as if the change to camping is too damaging would result in perks like...*flips notes* kinship...I am referring to it as camaraderie for now on, to be even more useless and some perks that were meant to be anti-camp or anti-tunnel in a way being either too strong or become not needed, instead of perks going onto their level in strength. Along with this balance mess perks that are very obviously intended for camping would become useless (Insidious is already pretty bad outside of camping so you would have to change that perk)

So TL;DR Monstrous shrine being changed to a scourge hook would require it to not affect sacrifice speeds or else a good portion of the perks in dbd will need to be reworked, buffed, or nerfed as it changes camping entirely. This is hereby dubbed the "Monstrous Shrine paradox"

It should just be changed to 1/2/3 perks deactivate at random while in the basement. Opening the basement chest causes you to scream and be exposed for 60 seconds

  • Was he nerfed today? I'm confused when was he nerfed because I played him yesterday and he still seemed pretty cracked. His movements speed in cloak itself makes him a good killer

  • @Ryan489x said:

Did the wraith really need some of the buffs they gave him?

Does he really need an add on that makes his bell totally silent?

He's already got one that makes it impossible to tell where his bell is ringing from.

he's got aura reading while cloaked

so many players of wraith rely on his sprint burst from the uncloak to catch people.

did he really need more power to this?

I think he's perfect and fine now. Maybe tone his cloak speed down by like. 0.1

Why nerf Pop... 25% is nothing given repair times

Scourge Hook... PR only does 15% (which doesn't take that long to repair)

Lightborn... I think the giving a false blind would be fun

NOED... Fine I agree (but how)

Ruin.... Only works on Gens that aren't being worked on by Survivors... and gets Cleansed/ Booned over within the first minute of the match (I don't run this perk)

Undying... only has one use and the second effect is worthless

Devour Hope... if you let it go then it becomes strong (I can see NOED being changed but Devour Hope? Really?)

Corrupt Intervention... Only lasts for 120 seconds and works off of Killer spawn (plus something like this is needed)

Jolt... Why??? This perk is only good with M1 Killers... also only does 6% loss of progress (which is like 2-3 seconds of repair time)

DMS... Why cause you don't like the change to it?

Oppression... applies base regression to multiple gens (that have progress) or sends a "difficult" skillcheck to a Gen with Survivors repairing it... apon kicking a Gen

That's a lot of perks... for the 3 mentioned in the OP... Some of them yes I do admit needs changes but the others not really

I'm just saying that all the perks that were listed by the maker of this discussion are the same thing as these. They dont need to be changed. As a survivor main I'm just saying how would it feel if if those perks got nerfed for killer

WHY DO YALL TAUNT AND TEABAG AT THE END???? It will forever boggle my mind as to why survivors do that stuff.

5 years and 4 months of playing. Get flexed on 💪💪💪. People just like to be toxic for the fun of it. Everyone goes through the stage. I made my name when I was going through the toxic stage. I am anything but toxic at this point

I decided to launch DBD since I haven't played since Nov. 4, 2021 and after playing for 7 days, my thoughts so far

    MMR

This feature needs to be removed entirely! Due to BHVR's poor choices of balancing I feel that MMR has no place in this game due to the fact it makes for unfun matchups ON BOTH SIDES

    Killer

Killer really isnt worth playing, too stressful and I kinda hate how killer's are really forced to run slowdown perks just to get any kind of enjoyment out the game and expirence

Dead Hard - This perk needs to be addressed. Almost every game I went into for the past 7 days there was at least 2 Dead Hards! The perk being used to avoid taking a hit is fine! However; DH for distance is very problematic since it's NO RISK HIGH REWARD

Top Tier Killers - I've managed to get to Gold II, this rank is so stressful that I'm honestly considering only sticking with Artist, Blight, Oni, (and Sally Smithson if they fix her.) I honestly feel that you shouldn't be forced to play Top Tier killer's just to stand a chance as killer

Boons - I feel that boons were a great addition to the game, though my only gripe about Boons is that they are infinite/re-bless-able! I feel a killer's best way of dealing with Boons is just to ignore them since 90% of the time it's CoH

    Survivor

It's no surprise to me that my survivor queue times are like 15-30 minutes, but I still find survivor very boring play!

Camping and Tunneling - As a killer I frown upon camping and tunneling. As a survivor I completely understand why it's done, but I feel that the current balance state of the game forces this playstyle on a lot of non viable killers!

Hold M1 - Outside of chase's I feel that survivor gameplay is very stale and I feel that it's because outside of gens, there's nothing for survivor's to do and they have to depend on killer's for a second obj

    Overall

I feel that the game hasn't changed one bit after being gone for 4 months!

    MMR, worse

    Meta, hasn't changed

    Gameplay, nothing new really

I don't wanna give up on this game, but I'm losing hope for this games future

Boons should have 3 stacks. Booking a totem takes away 1

  • @Bartlaus said:

There is nothing worse for me. I can't tell you how many times I've ended up getting killed because some dude thought it was a great idea not to open the gates all the way. As a killer, I often get an additional kill because the injured survivor runs into a 99% door. When will they ever learn it?!!!

I just had a solo Q match where I juked the killer for 5+ minutes. Not because the killer was bad, but because they was a pig and had to play on The Game. My mates were all dead on hook except me. At the end one guy died and I saved a baby meg, while Cheryl was preparing the door. I ran with baby meg to the prepared door and got a hit. Cheryl and Meg decided not to open the door and ran away.... I died on the first hook.

I mean I was mad after this, yeah. Im not mad, cuz I died. Im mad cuz people like this Chery play like this and she had +3000h in DBD! And it is the first time after playing DBD for 5 years I consider playing killer is more fun than solo q. And I'm sad about it. I mean my Solo Q MMR is definitely at the bottom, since Im dying meanwhile most of matches thanks to my guinea pig teammates. As killer I also have very rough matches, but at least winning it is all up on my own.

Btw bloodwarden is no reason for 99%. If u see the killer downed somebody, before u open the door, u can wait for the hook and then open it.

    What are ur opinions?

Would you rather whole team die from bloodwarden and endgame or just you die and rest of team escape? It's deffinatly one of those tricky situations that can be beneficial or fatal.

Also with ur bloodwarden comment no body will open the door if the killer is leaving the survivor on the ground (if they have a brain atleast). It's a clear giveaway of bw.

Overall I understand what you're getting at but sometimes you gotta adapt. I like the question thought it's a good topic to debate about👍

  • @Huge_Bush said:

The only camping that needs to change is Bubbi Bois ability to lock down a kill once he gets someone on hook. Problem is I don't trust the devs with touching him and not totally ruining him (just look at what they did to Twins). All other camping is fair game. Survivors should have a chance at saving someone, but it shouldn't ever be a guaranteed safe save and the killer should always be able to defend their hooked victim. Sure, sometimes it may take two people to make a rescue, but that's okay. It is a team role.

This right here is a very intellectual mature post. We need more people like you on these forums. Thank you

  • @Masterninja said:

This is proving my point on immature/not needed post. Most people on this discussion are actully making good valid arguments against my comments which I support, but you come over here and make it all aggressive. It just isn't needed.

  • I understand it is a forum and complaining is what you do in a forum. But there does come to a point where complaining turns in to whining. For example people complain about ds which is fine, but there gets to a point where people start making immature posts about how bad ds is even though bhvr has done everything people have asked for in the context of nerfing ds. Some people make good valid intellectual posts on perks or killers that they disagree with, but then there's people that make a post just because they got destroyed by a swf group or the got destroyed by a really good blight main.

All I'm saying is that people are expecting for this essentially new type of game (4 v1) to be perfect and for the devs to be perfect but that's just not possible. They deffinatly are doing something right because this game has been rising in fan base year after year.

2nd match. Cheaters. Downed a Meg, and she crawled at the speed of light away from me. I immediately disconnected. Not playing with cheaters. It's not fun.

Saw the DC penalty.... oh... 5 minutes huh... nah I'll just go play subnatica. How but that for your stupid "DC penalty"

Just leave your broken game again.

Sorry guys. I think I'm ready to pull the plug for good. This game hasn't changed. It's broken. The devs don't care. Make excuses. It's literally us vs them now a days. Even dowsy is waging a war on Patrick.

    It's all gross.

There's just to many other games to care anymore. You put faith in something and realize it just keeps going in loops until you get sick of it, and leave. Then come back, and hardly play and immediately see why you left to begin with.

Disagree but ok. No game is perfect I'm sorry to say, plus this game is basically the first of its kind, so it's def not gonna be perfect. Your problem is that you play killer😉

I think you both missed my point in I am not meaning that game specifically, clearly it sucks for the survivors in the present. But that it is a tactic that compensates for the other skills needed by the killer in the game. And in doing so makes the killers "win" games/get more kills in games due to survivor sympathy (for the camped/tunneled survivor not the killer) rather than playing better. In turn placing them up against survivors with better skills making it even harder and harder to get kills without using these tactics.

Camping and tunneling is essentially how killers get an easy 4k these days so still, it's good for killers.

  • @Sharpefern said:

Okay so hear me out on this. Can camping and tunneling be used to get 4ks, 100%. Is it effective for killers, also yes a lot of the time. As a survivor does it suck to see this, yes. So it would seem that its beneficial for the killer and bad for the survivor BUT here's where the issue lies. It seems this way.

Here's where things get tricky. Survivors will have to deal with that killer for 1 game, yes one annoying game, and if it works as an effective strategy the killer's MMR will go up, because they got the kills. but the killer is going to reach a point where this strategy provides less an less returns because while they are relying on it to "win" they are not getting experience in other aspects of the game with survivors actually on their level. They get into situations where by their first down 3 gens have already popped because the survivor they chased is much better at looping, dodging etc. because they are used to being up against killers who are stronger in those areas to make up for the lack of camping and tunneling. And then the killer will feel his only option is to camp/tunnel, and it still might work.

But as this cycle continues these types of games are going to get more and more frequent and the strategy is going to be less and less effective. Because they aren't learning/using the fundamentals of pressuring gens, map control, chases etc. while they are up against survivors of the same caliber, they are getting stomped in those areas and having to use camping/tunneling just to feel like they have a chance. And so they are doing the same strategy that for most people isn't thrilling gameplay. Eventually they will most likely quit because who would want to play every game like that.

In addition they are going to get so few bloodpoints because they aren't chasing, using their power, hooking multiple times, interrupting survivors etc.

I think that part of the reason the killer base is dwindling is because these tactics are still incentivized. That people consider the only "win" for the killer is 4k with gens undone. These strategies benefit the killer in their game but then hurt all of their overall future gameplay.

So yes in the game camping and tunneling are some of the tactics the survivors hate the most, but overall I think killers in general get hurt by these strategies more and that it has and will continue to have a lasting impact on the dbd community.

(I recognize that at top tier game play this does not apply but the vast majority of players aren't part of that top percent)

Correct. Unpopular. If it was worse for killers then no one would camp or tunnel. Def worse for survivors. Me personally I've played this game so long I don't care if I get tunnels or camped anymore. I do love a good bubba camp tho😉

Everyone knows that deadhard needs a rework, but what is ur idea to rework the perk?

Tell ur idea in the comments

My first idea: after arning 1 successful protection hit dead hard actives for 15 seconds, while deadhard is active the protected surv has all his scratch marks, pools of blood, grunts of pain are hidden and your aura Is revealed to the killer untill deadhard's duration is over.

My second idea: whenever a 8-10-12 meters from other survs they gain the ability to pick them selfs up at 150% the normal speed (a 50% bonus)

I would make it base kit
