Though I really hate SBMM/MMR being a thing, if I wasn't gonna say that I'd choose probably Attack on Titan becoming a thing for this game because I really hate anime it's gross and I wish it was never a thing.

If you like anime than that's ok everyone likes something that someone else might not.

Trickster. He's too modern for this game. He ruined the nice rustic feel. Also the goofy outfits like the elephant and bunnies.

  • TBH I barely read any of that. It's way too long if you want any replies. By looking at the first sentence i'm gonna say that killer and survivor "pride" balances itself out. Survivors have "pride issues" in their own way and killers have theirs too.

  • @Deadeye said:

I dont know why you should question good manners at all. I think it is pretty self explanatory why someone would expect that. Tbh the world is full of **** and there is a reason why there is a term like "shitstorm" but no "lovestorm" or equal. And instead of just growing a thicker skin and telling everyone to do so we could instead just be more respectful. just my opinion

btw your post is kinda inconsistent. you ask why people care about good manners and finish with "say gg and move on". that toxicity is fine explained with a guy that rages on someone saying gg. am I the only one that doesnt get the red line?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2977970#Comment_2977970

exactly. I think sitting in front of a monitor somehow makes people think they are invulnerable. this is not only in games but everywhere on the internet. just take the comments section of newspaper pages or something. you can compare it to the red button vs having to kill someone with a knife. same result, but with that distance you dont even know what you did, even though you "know" about what you just did.

I don't get what you mean by saying I'm inconsistent. I was just pointing out people r so sensitive that they rage over someone saying gg

  • But it isn't disrespectful to say it in that situation. Keep in mind saying gg to toxic killers pisses them off aswell

The only time it's felt all that bad was when the opposing side forgot (or never cared in the first place) about what I just wrote. I have been utterly demolished in this game on multiple occasions. It's a game and there is always someone better than you. As long as there isn't any of the toxic BS, I tell them "GG You played great!" and I mean it. I like seeing people play at the peak of what is possible. If I get mindgamed or juked hard-core, I'm usually smiling, because it's cool to see. If I get blasted because I did something dumb, hey it's on me not them. No reason to get salty.

Now when people start acting out for no reason other than to make themselves feel better ("it"s fun" is making yourself feel better) , that's an issue. Negativity and toxicity is reciprocal. Just don't be a part of that cycle. When you receive it, ignore it and move on.

    I agree

I'm probably one of the oldest people who plays DBD regularly (that's not an exaggeration) or who posts on this board, so take that as a caveat.

I was raised by my parents and a large extended family to treat other people with respect. Being well-mannered, at least when I grew up, was expected by people I was around (and in general), and it was the rule, not the exception.

In competition with anyone, whether it was in sports or something else, I was taught to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Again, good sportsmanship was something that was expected.

The world around me has changed as I've grown older, and not for the better. People show a lack of courtesy -- along with a lack of common sense -- in just about everything it seems this days. Polite discourse about things -- both serious and trivial -- seem to have gone away, people put themselves and their self-interests over others and the greater good regualrly, and good manners -- either in a video game, or in actual real-life occurrences, are so lacking in so many instances, it's sad.

So why do I care? Because none of those changes makes for a better world to live in. Acting with some level of respect towards others, whether it's in something as trivial as a video game, or something as important as the interactions you have with people in the real world, makes this world a better place for everyone. If people can't understand that, it's a sad reflection of where we are as a society -- and a bad omen for where we're headed when I'm long gone from here.

You are a very wise human. This is prob the only valid post here ngl. But keep in mind though (from a young persons stand point) video game courtesy and respect is so much differnt to irl. I hold the door, help with groceries, just general good manners is something that is slowly depleting over the years but it has nothing to do with a video game. Like after game salt messages and abuse is ridiculous I agree, but like people r saying that tunneling and camping and IN GAME mechanics r "bad mannered" when there are no "good" or "bad" manners in any video game unless it's dbd dating simulator then u def gotta hold that door for spirit.

Although to give a real answer, people quit the game over toxic aholes being toxic aholes. For all the problems this game has, it's still one of the best games in the genre.

I for one would rather the game not die because aholes chased players away. You can argue all you want that sticks and stones would break my bones but words will never hurt me but that's not how real life works. Plenty will get bullied, have an awful time because of it, and then just never come back.

Now we're seeing this to really affect the game as noob players are being thrown to the wolves (granted part of this is the stupid SBMM system but part of this is there are not the high end players sticking around to take the abuse). Obviously none of us can prove it one way or the other but I'd wager that many players who leave do it because of aholes, not because the game is bad.

I'm sorry bro if people feel that they are getting bullied through a video game then they need to really check their mental state out. And MMR is the reason new players are leaving. If a new player actually went against a new player then this game would be much better population wise.

So over last few years a many new perks were becoming meta changer, however they were reworked, nerfed or removed soon after release. Those were...

Ruin + Undying where the worst case was cleansing undying first leaving ruin itself standing. So worst case is what you get from undying now.

Devour hope + undying - the reworks of the maps just have so horrible totems spawns that it was not very common to get full stacks when you needed at least 3 hooks to have any effect + mmr came in.

Lucky break + iron will - immidiately nerfed, than halfway buffed made so without strong medkit it's one time use.

Circle of healing - son't need to say anything, rather than snuffing removes boons, COH become selfcare with limits and time to set.

Opression + Pop - leaving Oppression on horrible 80s cooldown.

Surge - Limited to only basic attacks, having horrible 40s cooldown.

Boil Over - instead of changing hooks spawn what happened in reality, nerfed twice so again useless.

Scourge hook PR - nerfed or reworked tbs, though it's a rewarding and one of most healthy perks with a little regression and a little information.

And so many, so whats the reason people will run the same perks again, just because everything new is changed upon short time becoming not worth running. New antiboon perk will just be a self care denier. As I almost never see other boons being used. Newest Dark Theory not at all, because 2 % is not worth, again rather than make it doesnt stack with other speed perks, this perks is pure garbage.

I have noticed that people run meta until they reach rank 1 and then change it up a bit. You really never see rank 1 iri players with 3 or 4 of the same meta perks over and over.

  • The game will explode again and be the laggiest ######### you'll ever see.

  • @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

As a killer i am afraid to get 3ks and 4ks because i know that it'll make me reach an mmr where i'll face 4 sweaty survivors (most likely swfs) with the same old second chance meta builds while gens get done in 4 mins. So i have to lose the game on purpose if i actually wanna have fun, or the game is gonna punish me for being good at the game.

Also, as a survivor i find reaching high mmr really boring, cuz then it's just try hard Nurse and Blights. Then i gotta get myself killed on purpose so i can make the game fun again and go against a variety of killers.

Why are you devs so damn egoistic and just won't remove mmr? Did it really cost you that much to implement it? Do you really wanna keep it at the cost of your player base? Those meaningless "matchmaking tests" did absolutely nothing. MMR is making the game unfun for everyone. Sure some people are gonna comment "oh no it's just that you're bad" Yeah right, that's why the game's been bleeding players ever since MMR was introduced.

wouldn't it be the opposite. It's effecting bad players. Good players should go against good players. Bad players should go against bad players. Simple.

    2. The number of Bloodpoints you received after each trial (you can complete this survey while still in the results screen)

Well they are not clear, so we can go with both ways. I don't know. But i am gonna use numbers without bonus.

    Ahhh ok it's bugged. Thanks.

    1. No slowdown while manifesting/demanifesting.
    2. TVs turn back on 30s after being used. if turned off by a survivor, they come back 60s later.
    3. Condemned could be made more of a threat by: A) having a level of condemned be inflicted if hit by an attack after manifesting (while sadako still flickers) or B) Tapes only remove 2 bars of condemned.
    4. Teleporting to TV's should give no global queue period. This increases her mind game potential and skill ceiling.
    5. Remove the lullaby while Demanifested. It makes no sense and defeats the entire point of being Undetectable.
    6. Significantly increase the duration of phasing after manifesting and significantly increase the time she disappears to give more mind game potential.
    7. I'd also add some small passive Condemn gain that just builds over time. Survivors need to waste time clearing it. - Tapes would remove 3 bars instead of 2 again if this was implemented.
    8. For more lethality: Allow her to walk through pallets while Demanifested/Fully condemned survivors are exposed/demanifesting applies hindered to nearby actors for (condemned level) seconds. (possibly all as addons)

I would just make it where survivors are unable to see condemed bar. It would be really thrilling and fun. It would also make survivors grab tapes in fear of being condemed.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I guess no. They are looking for results screen. So i don't think BBQ or BP offerings are include

I'm confused. Hes asking does BBQ BP appear with the total BP after the match right? Like when the game is adding up your BP BBQ is included isn't it.

  • uhh it just does? the perk gives you 100% bloodpoints and that reflects to the after match BP. I dunno what else to say.

  • I believe he is low A teir high B teir. Hes a mix of crow lady and sadoka.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    My idea is either

    • When survivors in her teleporting range, they will gain a fixed 2 stacks that shared to all survivors. Which mean if there is 1 survivor in range, they gets 2 stacks. If there are 4 survivors, each get 0.5 stacks. There can be an addon that increase stacks gain from 2 to 3. I believe they can not buff the condemn rate because the possibility of gaining 4 stacks in a single teleport, which is really OP (I know gaining 10-15 stacks across all survivors in a few teleport is likely never happen, but it CAN HAPPEN)

    or

    • Shes only able to teleport once per min, all survivors gain a stack. After 5min, when each survivor has 4-5 stacks, the game is slowed down from there. Take note that all 4 survivors can not take tape at the same time because of the TV limited.

Either one of those idea, + when reach to 7 stacks, they will be Exposed and can be Moried, plus they can not decrease stack any more.

    My opinion on your idea:

1- That would make Lethal pursuit a must have perk for her. Instant chase at 3sec into the match. I dont think that should be so.

2- There must be a clear animation on their status that they just gain a stack, so they're able to memorize them instead of completely unknow.

3- The proper time to get tape is 4 stacks, so they will get 5 stacks when taking a tape, 6 stacks while running to another TV and still be safe if get into chased. Getting 3 bars would make instant Mori in some case (Teleport near a Dwight doing Gen, get into chase and teleport to another TV on his running direction is an instant of 6 stacks)

I know Sadako really need a buff, but not over buff like this.

cant dredge teleport to a locker pretty much immediately. Plus, not knowing your condemn bar would add such a good thrill and people would actually pull tapes. Also yeah I agree with you for my idea of tvs adding more bars.

I believe the term you’re looking for here is called “Depth of Field”.

A reddit post explains what this is pretty well.

Depth of field is used to give the video game a movie-like quality, where everything appears more like they were filmed. Depth of field is used in cinematics to help train the players eye to the area/objects the storyteller wants the player to focus on.

    Wow! thank you so much

thats what im sayin. mikey has A+ tier addons.

Made a tier list of the perks I think deserve changes of any sort (big and small!):

Useless: Terrible perks that you can't get any value on (need heavy reworks)

Very bad: Terrible perks that don't do much for you/ are too inconsistent (for sure need reworks)

Bad: situational perks that need a lot of preparation to work and even then don't do that much (value changes or changes to how they function)

Meh: like bad but slightly better and see a bit more play (value tweaks or slight changes needed)

Decent: perks that can be consistently decent in certain situations and builds (some slight tweaks or changes)

Fine: mostly fine perks that can work relatively well but can also be quite inconsistent (slight tweaks)

    Hi.

Some of you probably remember these threads, most of you don’t. Basically I made a poll asking which killer would be most rewarding to master and Oni won, so I decided that I’d spend the next couple of months playing pretty much exclusively Oni and trying to get as good at him as I could.

That didn’t happen, because of a lot of personal things outside of Dbd, but also because I switched platforms and had to start all the way from scratch. Now I feel like I’m ready to take on this challenge again, and on PC this time.

Basically, how this is going to work is every week I’ll make a thread logging my progress, maybe attaching a recording so you people can give me pointers.

this is what happens when someone takes “get good” too seriously. Anyway, just an announcement that this is going to be making its return. Hopefully I’ll actually commit to this, haha.

I swear bro every Oni I play is a 5k hour Oni main that claps everyone in 5 minutes. But I actually like him alot, I probably respect Oni Mains the most.

  • i would put dredge above bubba and before oni chan. Legion in A teir before vommy mommy. Trickster in B above nemesussybaka. And Mikey before clown (if we talkin addons aswell)

Which is better for M1 killers who like to camp? I.e., Bubba, Ghostface, Myers, especially Trapper (nevermind Hag, I only use Agitation for Hag and on a very specific build).

If you use the perk Built to Last and have a toolbox equipped, it doesn't matter what type of toolbox, you do not get a prompt to repair use the toolbox to repair any generator.

I played multiple times and through trail & error discovered that Built to Last was the issue

Any time you equip the perk BTL

This isn't isn't just with built to last for me. You don't get the prompt no matter the perk from my experiences. All you have to do is drop the box and pick it back up for it to work. still annoying though. Im on Ps4.

Does anyone else out there experience this, or am I just getting the weirdest chances actually happening?

This mostly happens on Survivor, not often on Killer. Am I just underestimating how many maps are in this game, or..?

Why does the segregation of servers matter here? If they have 10 million players on Asia servers chances are their US servers are considerably bigger and have a larger population than DBD as well.

DBD already has people experiencing 10 minute queue times WITH a system that prioritizes queuing speed over MMR accuracy. Again, this game does not even have the population to have a casual and ranked queue, let alone alternate game modes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2972512#Comment_2972512

3 million people can play this game, dude. If the daily active users is, based on Steams projections, somewhere considerably south of 1 mil, you have no point.

1 mil daily has no point? Dude what's your definition of alot of people. 1 million people playing this game will easily make 2v8 possible for 100s of thousands of servers

I am getting this from experience. I play on every platform except mobile.

I was quite happy on my xbox until they implemented cross play. Ever since crossplay, xbox que times got long, equivalent to other platforms.

It especially helped the PC community. PC players like cross play.

PC players also have a advantage over console players. I can take one look at someone's gameplay and tell u if it's a console or PC.

I like consoles better, but it just sucks to deal w cross play.

Alright I respect your opinion. I just believe it go better from my own experience. It used to be 5-10 minute que times before cross play.

I've seen this a lot from both sides. Survs who gen rush, killers who just want to 4K as soon as humanly possible, survs who get angry at other survs for doing anything other than sitting on a gen or running the killer all game, but my question is: why? I've had games go by so quickly that I barely manage to even safety pip on top of not getting any decent amount of bloodpoints out of it, and I've seen people straight up say "I want to win as fast as possible". Is winning all that matters? What about BP or pips for a sense of progression, or simply just the fun of playing the game? Do people really love playing Lobby Simulator that much? I don't want to sit on a gen all game; I like exploring, I like grabbing things from chests and cleansing totems. It isn't a race, you don't need to obtain your objective as fast as possible, so what gives?

My opinion? Forget that nonsense; open chests, do bones, meme around and throw pebbles while the killer is looking directly at you because, hey, why not?

Same reason people like rocket league. It's a quick 5 min game that you can fit multiple games in before you have to go and do something. Who wants to come home from school play 2 30 minute games and have to go to work. People would rather come home have 8 10-15 minute games.

Hello class. With a slew of exciting updates and upcoming changes in view, I wanted to take the time to think upon where DBD is now and see how far it has come. While I know people are anxious and excited for the potentially great things in store for us, such as the Perk Overhaul, the second Resident Evil chapter, and Prestige overhaul, I think it’s a good idea to look at how things are now and what they might become in the future, for better or worse. A good portion of this post will be opinionated, that should come as no surprise, but for some topics, especially in regards to game health and balance, I’ll try to speak in the interest of everyone who plays the game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7YLLMVHD2ERX/on-the-subject-of-the-current-state-of-dbd.docx

TL;DR: Out of the meta survivor perks mentioned by name in the Perk Overhaul announcement, Dead Hard is the only one that I agree needs major changes. Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Iron Will and Self-Care are all fine in my opinion, even if they are slated for changes.

The meta killer perks mentioned by name are mostly fine, though BBQ and Chili is only really as popular as it is because of the bloodpoint drought.

I'd like Billy to have some better addons.

I'd like it if Nurse's Blinks counted as Special Attacks rather than Basic Attacks to make certain strong perks less good on her.

Myers desperately needs an addon pass and a small tweak to his power.

Hag needs an addon pass and for Flashlights to counter her power less easily, as well as refunding traps that are too close to a hooked survivor.

Bubba needs Carburetor Tuning Guide to be fixed.

I'd like another mini rework to Freddy to make him more interesting and make Dream Pallets part of his basekit.

I'd like for Clown to have separate reserves for his purple and yellow bottles, and for reloading to reload both reserves. Also rework Kerosene Can.

For Spirit, please nerf Mother-Daughter Ring and buff Mother's Glasses and Senko Hanabi.

    For Plague, rework Prophylactic Amulet.

Demogorgon needs another addon pass, specifically buff Violet Waxcap and rework Unknown Egg.

For Oni, rework the passive recharge addons.

For Deathslinger, rework his terror radius addons, and buff Snake Oil and Bayshore's Gold Tooth.

For Pyramid Head, rework Obsidian Goblet and the Killer Instinct addons.

For Blight, I'd be OK if his fatigue were increased if he misses a Lethal Rush. Also nerf Alchemist Ring and Compound 33.

For Twins, revert the 5 second successful Pounce cooldown, and allow Charlotte and Victor to swap without a cooldown, even during the successful Pounce cooldown. If a survivor is hooked near Victor, instantly recall Victor. Also let Charlotte pick up Victor because it'd be cute 😊. Buff/rework their weak addons, especially Sewer Sludge, Baby Teeth, Weighty Rattle, Rusty Needle, and Stale Biscuit.

For Nemesis, allow him to manipulate his zombies slightly and allow him to walk through them to prevent them from bodyblocking him. Also rework Licker Tongue.

For Pinhead, rework his weaker addons. That's it.

For Artist, rework Charcoal Stick. That's all.

And finally, buff Sadako by making Condemned more threatening, perhaps by making Condemned slowly increase when near a TV.

I would advise making your post shorter, therefore people will read them

Years ago when I bought my xbox 360 i made the decision based on PC and Playstation being absolutely plagued with hackers and cheaters. Iv invested thousands of dollars and tens of thousands of hours into my xbox account to date. All has been well for years until i invested 3,500 hours into Dead By Daylight then cross play was introduced. I chose the xbox platform so i could play games and enjoy the strict no-cheat multiplayer aspect that came with it. Now DbD has cross play and I cant play a game(literally not a single one) without having PC cheaters in my game. Survivors that run faster than my killers and vault at boosted speed, people being able to use as many perks as they want at the same time, killers who know exactly where every survivor is at all times, and the list goes on. I know everyone will say that I have the option to turn cross play off but the reality is that during prime hours in the evening and the weekend it takes over an hour to get into a match with cross play turned off. And if its not peak hours it is impossible. I have started the killer que around midnight during the week and left my home to go out and do something and when i get home multiple hours later my killer is still waiting in the same que. Its absurd. I realize that the only reason cross play was introduced was due to low player count and the need to improve que wait times but having to play against cheaters every match makes waiting 20 mins for a match not so bad. Something has to give. If u need to add a game function that monitors random matches to check things like character movement speed and action times in order to ban cheaters mid match then get on your horses and make it happen. Dead By Daylight is turning into how GTA5 used to be when online first came out and its a shame.

Cross play is fine. It helps que time and it allows playing with friends on differnt platforms. Pc does not have an advantage to console. Only huntress has a small advantage. The hacking aspect of the game isn't cross plays fault its the anti cheat. Every game will have cheaters buddy. You do know you can turn off crossplay right lmao

Just why?? He's the worst! His voice is terrible, and he's so annoying to play as or play against. I especially loathe "baby" Dwights. Like ffs, stop going in a fcking locker whenever you hear the terror radius. All they do is run around and get downed within 30 seconds, then they get hooked and kill themselves on purpose.

Overall, Dwight is an idiotic MORON. I really don't see why people lOvE him so much.

He's a sexy daddy thats why. Everyone wants his kids.

add option to hide the names of players in the match and lobby and maybe even that entire ui element i feel like it honestly gets in the way of my immersion when im just playing to play.... (i play on xbox so add-ons arent an option really)

legions iridescent button got nerfed idk why but it would be cool if they added a small reduction to feral frenzy terror radius while it is active (when combo with pills would make legions feral frenzy pretty explosive in nature)

also please consider making survivor perspective to first person i saw a video on this and thought it was so much better than third person it would be insane for the game imo..

I would like to see a first person survivor mode separate from base game mode.

bubbas chainsaw spamming and insta downing doesnt need to be nerfed?

    yeah, right.

if you're gunna buf one side, you have to at least somewhat buff the other. otherwise the whole arguement of "balanced game" is just null and void in favor of killers

Bubba is very balanced as is

I agree that no other killer add-ons need a nerf (though if Hags were I wouldn't complain).

I was just surprised by the amount of times you faced Blight and Nurse. When I play, especially in a swf, we get those 2 the most often. Nurse either has double recharge or 1 recharge with range add-ons. Blight is pretty much always the green crow add-on and any of his other busted ones lol

I do play on console. Do you have cross enabled?

You mustn't be at the highest MMR if your facing Blight 1 in every 20 games. That isn't a knock on you it's just that most people that play at high MMR will tell you Blight is extremely common. Nurse is also very common, with a good Nurse being 1 in every 5.

To me I believe Blights add-ons need a nerf 100%. I also think when Dead Hard gets nerfed the devs may need to take a look at Blight and Nurse. I think no other killer needs a nerf (except Hag 😁😁) and the most of them need a buff.

I'm actually a rank 1 survivor and have around 3k hours on survivor so I'm pretty sure I have maxed mmr, but it's so busted I still don't go against my skill set sometimes. I didn't really take in countt the addons I was just talking about power only, but this post had evolved to everything so yeah I do agree with you that blights addons need a nerf, but really no one else's addons do. Myers base kit is so bad that he needs those addons to help him, and you don't go against iri head that often anymore so for the most part blight is really the only killer that needs to be looked at that can be considered a nerf

He’s only half right. The licence has expired but they aren’t exactly getting rid of him, they’re just removing the ability to purchase him like what they did with demo.

Oh yeah my bad I guess I probably should of clarified on that

Almost every killer game I play is on one of them. Playing Sadako on them is near impossible because she's so short.

I've had 4 killer games in a row with different killers all on those damn corn maps.

    Dbd just loves corn
