Yeah dude the devs are getting rid of one of the most beloved killers in the game😐

3 man SWF with all the meta perks against the weakest killer in the game and all running absolutely miles towards the nearest pallet as soon as they heard the lullaby, couldn't even get close to them because they'd be halfway across the map.
I had them in the previous game as well and they all died because they kept trying to click macro me, didn't get a single GG then but as soon as they get the gate open and there's nothing I can do it's "GG EZ".
And then instead of leaving they stand there doing this and destroying my eardrums, can we like have the entity kick them out of the game once they open the gate?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HBO0SF6W0DCU/20220407014546-1aaaaa.png
Edit: Oh and they had a boon ######### knows where on the map and as soon as someone DID get injured they'd disappear and heal up and come back.
It's not their fault you are playing onryo...you expect courtesy from survivors when you are a killer and trying to kill them...the constant notification is pretty annoying though
-
@MilManson said:
Where is there something about a new killer? O.o
Did you not hear. The devs are getting rid of Pyramid head because the license expired so they are coming out with a new killer to replace him
-
@Mooks said:
Hm. That means we would miss out on the animation of the transformation.
if the killer can interact with lockers I hope it’s teleportation and/or setting traps in lockers (though those would need some twist otherwise survs would just ignore lockers when facing the killer)
Won't be ether one because traps in a locker is way too weak and teleportwtion in lockers is too out of the way and too much like onryo

Technician is one of the worst survivor perks in the game. I see only two types of players ever using it. Noobs who are not learning how to do skill checks because their location isn't given away convincing them to get better at them and trolls who combine it with bond to sit on a gen with someone and regress the gen tremendously. Both of the player types using it are people you don't want to use it. Can it please be changed to work more like bite the bullet?
Full rework- working on a generator is silent (only for you), missing skillchecks has a 1% penalty, does not give off notification when skillcheck is missed. All I can think of.

People who got off their main game, Fortnite, for a bit to try out their new horror game DBD, that they picked up on a whim, that's who the Deathslinger change was balanced around. No survivors worth mentioning were complaining of Deathslinger's power.
Are you making fun of me🤨 I personally have never played fortnite I just like the speech lines about it. "I'm cracked at fortnite my guy" it was just a joke. Dbd is my main game and has been since 2017

Probably because he has low mmr and at low mmr blights are less common
I have 3k hours on survivor and 500 on killer so idk. Mmr is so busted you rarely go against really good nurse or blight mains
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
Eh, nurse isn't really fine. She doesn't need a full-blown rework but she needs some small adjustments.
Blight's basekit is fine. His addons aren't.
Spirit's basekit is fine, MDR needs a nerf and DCB needs a rework.
Also in what world are you only going against blight once every 20 matches?
For me I rarely go against nurses and blight.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
Things absolutely need to be toned down on both sides, as well as need to be toned up, in order to achieve a much better game balance than current. Survivors have more of the things that must be toned down, yes, but ruin undying pain resonance tinkerer nurse w/ range + recharge vs solos is not particularly great.
("but surv-" yes i know survivors also have very op things that need to go and id prefer we dealt with those first)
I'm just talking about killers. Not the perks not the survivors, just the killers and there power. Plus, any perk build with Amy killer still dosnt make any killer powerfull enough to recieve a nerf imo
-
@gatsby said:
Chase music now plays in Frenzy.
This nerf makes it much harder to hear Survivors for Legion players that use their power early on in chase and can't rely on scratch marks.
The Devs couldn't just buff Legion they had to take something strong away.
What are you going on about. Have you not seen the new additions to legion, who cares about chase music in frenzy?
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Thank you! Freddy and Deathslinger were never that strong. To be fair, sometimes nerfing a perk into unusability is how you make it balanced. People still say DS is a useless perk, even though it's still used offensively and can guarantee an escape in endgame. People say Balanced Landing is unusable after the nerf, but you can just play with the perk a little bit to see that's not true. People have said that STBFL is OP, but if you make that perk any weaker, nobody's gonna use it... until they do.
Cmon deathslinger was cracked at both fortnite and dbd... my guy. Freddy has always been boring to play, but good, and death slinger was amazing before he got conpletly gutted.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
I disagree that freddy and deathslinger were fine, but they were both nerfed more heavily than they needed to be.
Slinger just needed the quickscoping removed, his terror radius was fine.
Freddy just needed the slowdown addons changed but now those addons are completely useless and I don’t think his movement speed penalty while placing a snare was necessary. Basically freddy went from being boring and overpowered to being boring and underpowered.
thats my point- people hated these killers so much because they weren't good against them, they complain about them being too OP and they get over nerfed. When the killer(s) is fine and only needed a sight nerf.
-
@eleventbh said:
People, the point isn't that Sprint Burst is as strong/stronger than Dead Hard, it's that meta perks will always be complained about.
Yeah lmao. Still nice to see people's opinions. The sb and dh argument is enjoyable to read
-
@Tr1nity said:
nah
There will always be an exhaustion perk that will be constantly used by Survivors. Maybe not sb but an exhaustion perk will be overly complained about

It's nearly as good as DH if you think about it. It's only downside is that you have to walk.

You can dodge that hit, but no DH for distance..
It's still terrible. That'll get you like an extra 3 seconds in chase. Sprint burst will become the new meta and then everyone will start complaining about that
-
@brokedownpalace said:

I think this is the better nerf.
What about just for distance but you can still be hit while deadharding
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
I think it would be better if Dead Hard prevented you from interacting with anything for a couple seconds.
So you couldn't just dead hard straight into a pallet or window.
That would make it an f teir perk

Hey so looking at all of the perks (survivor and killer), it seems like a lot of survivors hate NOED and killers seem to equally dislike Boil Over (as well as Boons). I feel that I always need to point this out but I'm a 50/50 (killer/survivor). Personally, I don't care if a survivor is using BO or even DS for that matter because dropping/ not picking up is always an option that still allows you to proxy the area. Boons aren't an issue either simply because I understand what it's like for survivor teams that have one or two "challenged" players (specifically two survivors that aren't doing gens, healing, unhooking, etc. I've had the displeasure of matching with a lot of these survivor teams on both ends).
Two perks that I really dislike (yes, even more than NOED) are Agitation and Iron Grasp. One of them is bad enough but lately, I'm seeing more killers run one or both of these perks and it's even worse than when a survivor is using DS or BO. Iron Grasp on it's own pretty much guarantees a hook so I probably have more of a dislike for this perk from a survivor standpoint. As for my killer view, I mean there are hooks all over as it is and it just seems pointless to run Iron Grasp. It's still possible to wiggle out (I've done it myself) but only because I run Boil Over, Flip-Flop, Tenacity, and Power Struggle. The problem is the original issue that I addressed earlier about bad teammates. Unless someone is willing to cover you or you fall in a specific spot, it's going to be difficult in terms of survival.
I'm just wondering what everyone else's thoughts are. Personally, I think IG should get a rework as 75% seems a bit high but maybe I'm not looking at this clearly.
Iron grasp sucks

These bot farms are not doing this to ruin anyones fun, they openly sell these accounts for sometimes thousands of dollars.
Same with wow gold, and everything else online that is bot-farmed
Dang I wonder how much my account is. I have 3.5k hours in it with nearly everyone p3ed

Didn't expect a Midchapter this early, especially on this day of all times.
So, let's get into the first set of notes which is actually regarding The Twins.
*Madeline's scarf has been retired and replaced with.... absolutely nothing
*Victor's shriek radius has been removed
*Victor's cooldown has been removed
*Victor's pounce range has been reduced significantly
*Victor has been removed.
*Twins no longer can lunge
*Twins has been removed.
Wow, um, that was unexpected.
The next set of patch notes... uhh... oh... for Michael?
*The amount of stalk needed for tier 2 has been slightly reduced
*Slightly increased lunge distance when using scratched mirror
*The survivor who has been stalked the most when tier 3 is reached will scream, revealing their location to you
*Myers now moves 5% faster while... ...what..?
He can crouch? wait hold on, i think there's been a mix up.
Survivors can no longer reveal you once they've been marked? What the-?
Sorry about that it looks like some of the notes were scrambled together.
On to the next set of fixes which relate to the new graphical rework of Haddonfield (Yippee.)
*House of pain has been removed
*Houses are now a minimum of 4 stories long and 8 tiles wide
ok, this is ridiculous. How could it get even worse from here?
Wait, hold on... It can't be...
fnaf in dbd!?!?!! oh my ######### god!!! truly a grace from the heavemsn!!!
oh wait nevermind it's a legendary skin for michael :/
*Every map except shelter woods has been PERMANENTLY removed.
finally some good news.
Happy April Fools! GoobyNugget.
You forgot that Jane's booty will be nerfed cause of all the complaints on how big it is

I meant bad manners.
Oh then in that case... having bad or good manners in a game matters? No offense but that sounds ridiculous. In game actions should not correspond to real life. You can't have good or bad manners is a video game. Especially in a game where you are tying to mest hook people. (No means to sound disrespectful towards you btw. My wording isn't amazing)
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2880828#Comment_2880828
Shrug.
To me, the mindset is the exact same - all that's different is the execution. In both cases, you are extracting enjoyment out of making another player frustrated IRL.
Can some people be oversensitive, or go out looking for things to complain about? Sure. That's the other side of the issue.
That said - if you are doing something specifically to be annoying, chances are that you know you aren't behaving appropriately and if you persist, that says a lot more about you as a person than it does the person who gets annoyed.
My argument is that you can't be toxic through a game. Like... it's just a game. How are can someone be toxic by crouching up and down? Like how do people think tbaging is toxic I don't understand. But you can be toxic through chat or vc etc. I find taunting me in game hilarious because they are trying to trigger me through a game.
-
@Shaped said:
"Being toxic is when you are abusing someone (in an intentional manner to get them mad). And do not start to say that tbaging or flashlight clicking or hitting people on the hook is toxic cause it ain't at all. "
^^ wat?
If that is your definition of toxic how is bm'ing not toxic then? In your case you weren't toxic but in some of the other cases people do it intentionally to provoke the killer.
Sorry bm'ing? Beaming? Like with a flashlight. Sorry I'm not clear on what that means. But if you do mean beaming... it's an in game mechanic that I frustrating towards killers, but it isn't toxic cause flashlights are in the game for a reason
-
@StarLost said:
Sigh.
Okay, looking at the first paragraph here makes me not want to believe the second paragraph. But yes - trying to 'get someone mad' is what toxicity means - you are being nasty in the game to try and make them annoyed IRL in the hopes that they'll be distracted. Is...that really something we should be promoting?
Also - Any in game mechanic...wait, so I can bodyblock someone inside that room on The Game and go AFK...and by your definition, that wouldn't be a problem?
How about we all just manner up?
That would be considered toxic yes. That is abusing the person that is getting blocked. Ok so mostly all in game mechanics are not toxic, but some are, I should of clarified on that.
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2880813#Comment_2880813
Why not?
That said, the issue isn't that some killers are better than others.
The issue is that the delta between even 'decent' killers (B tier) and 'bad' killers (C and D tier) is so ridiculously big.
Sounds fun. Basically going against a nurse every match. No killer is unplayabley (not a word but who cares) bad. Alot of killers that just by first glance seem to have a low skill cap, actually all have their same skill ceiling and all of them can be played to their best potential resulting in best results.
Also perks are obviously a huge factor depending on the killer. Like a Michael can be an amazing killer with the right perks and right playstyle, it's just harder to figure it out.
I truly don't believe it's the killers power and if it's weak or strong that decides what teir the killer is in, but instead how well you utilize it. Huntress can be absolute trash if you can't aim, but myers can be amazing if you utilize teir 3 correctly
-
Legion skins are amazing wdym
-
@StarLost said:
Otherwise, were looking at maybe 3-6 months until she gets the help she needs.
Otz recently did a tier list, and - as a 'hard' killer - you'd expect her to actually start to shine with someone who plays this game semi-professionally. Nope, he rates her towards the bottom end of C tier.
Keep in mind that this means she's sharing ground with 2 killers getting a rework soon, 3 killers widely considered 'meme' killers and Freddy.
Shouldn't we be focused on getting killers up to 'B' tier at least?
Not every killer can be A teir.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I keep meaning to make a longer post about this, but it's a complicated balance issue that presents itself at a higher level when every survivor has the ability to self-heal. The time healing speed isn't really the problem. It's a spacing issue. You create a stalemate or a slow game of attrition when you have a boon on one side of the map and a 3 or 4 gen on the other side.
The killer can't snuff the boon without throwing the game, nor can they commit to a chase on the boon side without throwing the game. The survivors can hold W and heal at the boon until one side gets bored. The healing speed isn't the issue. It's that every survivor can do this infinitely.
Exactly, and that's why I proposed a token system

Maps should balance better for killers.
Dead Hard and CoH needs to go.
Weak killers should buff.
But seriously i don't wanna Nurse level killers. But i am seeing some people wants this. But DbD is not playing by only one side. If all killers would be this level, how people will enjoy as survivor?
For me game needs to be fair for both sides. For me, maps are making it imposible. Most maps are balancing around casual/new players and i think this is biggest mistake.
"why people wants"
-
@cordonrouge said:
completely agree, it's a strat, and sometimes a good one, sometimes not. i'm never mad at the killer though, he can play however he wants.
i do get mad at my teammates though, when they just stand there through my entire 2 hook phases crouched behind a corner. like, either tank a hit and unhook me, or go do something else. why are you facecamping me with the killer? especially when they're healthy and on hook 0 like... you can't just swap a hook? or take a chance perhaps?
so basically: in my experience it's always the survivors who are toxic, regardless of circumstance (more specifically, i mean that it's them that make the game frustrating). whatever killer behavior i dont consider toxic, cause at the end of the day even being camped and tunneled you're helping your team. meanwhile he's on his own team alone and he can do whatever he wants, yk?
