Oh 3 of them Dc'd as well once they realized the build I had. Last one I gave the hatch to.

They probably DC'd because you were Legion.

  • Screw this new quote system, I'll do it myself...

@Wolf74 said: "Long chases can be good if the survivor is wasting a lot of pallets right away"

Yea this is the only time you want to be chasing for a while. Some survivors drop pallets like crazy and if you chase them they waste all the safe pallets right away.

  • @Delfador said:

Hitting the Obsession with your basic attack causes the Obsession to emit a Terror Radius of 32 metres for 20 seconds. This effect can only be triggered once every 60/45/30 seconds.

This is from the wiki. (I didn't take all the parts)

So if you hit them for the first time, there will be a timer and during that timer if you hit them again and down them, it won't reactivate.

You either have to go EW3 and down them or wait 30 seconds to activate the timer again.

Infectious fright + Dark devotion seems to be a good combo for Myers and I want to try it tbh. All of the new killer's perks are interesting and well designed imo.

Infectious Fright in general seems like a good perk. Spirit, Nurse, Hag, Myers, Pig, a lot of killers can make use of it. The only ones that won't are Billy/LF and Huntress because the use their power to down you usually.

However, with Myers I think it would only be good when he is in tier 3. In tier 1/2 his TR is small so less chance someone is inside it to scream.

  • I just delete rituals for survivors/killers I don't play. Not going out of my way to get that BS, I already earned over 100 million BP to date so I really don't need that measly 30k. Sometimes I will delete them over and over until I get 3 good rituals then bang them all out in a couple of games.

  • Against Hag, you are better off saving the FL to disarm her traps.

And as a Spirit main I can confirm she can be blinded when breaking a pallet like any other killer. I'm pretty sure I've done it to Spirits/Hags myself as well. You just have to aim at a different spot is all.

  • The woosh is like a second terror radius. When Spirit enters phase walk she leaves a husk which projects the normal heartbeat terror radius. Anyone inside the heartbeat TR will not hear a woosh just the normal heartbeat. Anyone outside of that will hear the woosh if they are within what would be her TR during phase walk (as in where she actually is) but it is non-directional and non-distance based (so you could be on the very edge or right next to her the sound is the same). If you are outside of both you don't hear anything.

  • Pig is really good if you use her abilities properly. Space out those RBT's (don't just put them on every time you catch someone, be tactical with it), use her stealth to get closer to survivors in the right structures (ie. buildings, jungle gyms, etc), and use ambush as an anti-looping tactic on semi-safe or unsafe pallets. She's also short which gives you more chance to mind game some pallets/windows (where tall killers like Trapper can still be seen).

Build also makes a huge difference, and that goes for all killers. On Pig I run Whispers because with her stealth it helps you find survivors super easy. Most of the time they just kind of walk right out in front of you. Blood Warden is also very good for her because you can guarantee a proc if you save a trap for end game. My last 2 are Ruin (just as something even more to do with gens and traps) and Nurse's (which pairs well with Whispers/stealth).

And you need to NOT TUNNEL THE GUY WITH THE TRAP! Too many Pigs do this and it costs them the game. Leave the guy with the trap alone, especially if it's active. They have to do boxes, and they won't be doing gens, so you need to use that time to find others. I can often get 1 on a hook with 2 active traps in play. If I find that last dude I win, because the trap guys aren't going to make a save unless they are close to the hook. You should also pick a box, one that's in a good spot to defend, and just not let people finish on that box. I get a lot of trap kills because I just chase the dude off the box to another part of the map and leave them for someone else. Eventually it turns out that's the box they need and then they die.

Probably the biggest part to being a good Pig is knowing when and when not to be stealth. A lot of Pigs overdo the stealth stuff and try to be all sneaky when survivors clearly know where they are. If you see that a survivor sees you, just stand up and chase them. You're wasting time in stealth at that point. This is another reason why I like Whispers for her, because when it's not lit you know no one is around so you can enter stealth and actually use it. When it procs, then someone is nearby. If it's in a building or some structure, you can be mostly sure you aren't seen. But if it's in corn or out in the open chances are someone see you and is actively avoiding you. It can feel like you are being sneaky but trust you are not.

Billy IS boring to play against, I'll like to see some more interactive changes made to him.

How about this? There will be 8 ramps in the trial that he can use to boost in the air with. The ramps will prioritize facing generators first then totems second, if that's not good enough, he can rotate the ramps in the direction he so pleases. To compensate for the extreme mobility, his chainsaw will have a heat gauge and if it fills up from overuse, you'll have to wait a while. Of course the heat gauge will deplete naturally so don't worry!

Dead By Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

  • Pffftttt... you so easily coulda dodged that. Clearly someone needs to git gud.

    j/k 🤣

  • If you break a chase at the right time you can make the first guy think you are still chasing them while the second guy has no idea you are coming. If you catch someone out of position, that's a free hit. I often break chases I know will take too much time and do my best to keep survivors scrambled. Just following someone until you catch them is the worst way to play killer because you give the other 3 free reign of the map. If you break a chase to get hits on the others you put them on edge and they are more likely to screw up.

You have to know how to prioritize as killer. Breaking a chase to kick gens, break pallets, set up traps, scramble other survivors, etc is important because you need to pressure the group not the individual. If you know a gen is >50% and it's close then go over and kick it to scramble the survivors. Most of the time survivors get a chubby for particular gens, so if you keep interrupting them it can really mess them up. Sometimes they get desperate to finish it too and then they make big mistakes.

My general rule of thumb is that if I chased someone for more than 20 seconds and haven't gotten a hit or forced a pallet to drop I leave them. Most of the time when you leave them it takes them maybe 15 seconds to reset and find a gen, so you have time especially if you know where another survivor is. If you have no clue where another survivor is then it's not really a good idea to break a chase unless it's at a really strong loop.

You win more as killer through attrition and disruption than you do brute force.

And yeah, Haddonfield sucks for her.

Sorry for making a lot of posts, I just typed as ideas popped up.

Haddonfield AND Lerys are just awful for her.

On Xbox there are a handful of really good Huntress players that almost never miss. I used to be really good with her, but since Spirit came around I haven't played her much if at all (maybe for a daily here and there).

  • @Eveline said:

No because when they are all corrupted they reset.

The tactic is going to end up being make survivors sick until all but 1 fountain is left. Then go get your power up. When it goes away make someone sick. Rinse repeat until the game is over.

  • It's supposed to disappear when you run through them but I've had it where they stay. I think it's a bug.

  • I'm on Xbox rank 1. Mostly see Wraith, Trapper, Myers, Pig, Spirit, and LF (not in that order). Billy, Clown, and Legion I see here and there. Rare to see Nurse, Huntress, Hag, Freddy, or Doc.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only rank 1 Freddy on Xbox right now. There might be 1 other guy, but IMHO he's not as strong a Freddy as I am. I play without Ruin or NOED and only rarely use purple/pink add-ons or moris.

  • Dark Devotion: Premonition or Spine Chill so you know if she is really around or not (obsession or normie).

Infectious Fright: You need both Distortion and Calm Spirit to counter this. Also just stay out the the killer's TR if they are chasing. Or hide in a locker.

Corrupt Intervention: Just go do different gens. Deja Vu might help if you don't know how objects spawn on tiles. I kinda see this one as a blessing and a curse for killers. Run it and now you have fewer gens to protect at the start, but since they are the farthest gens from you then it is more likely survivors will first do gens nearer the center of the map, and thus avoid a 3 gen late game.

  • IMO blood is already quite easy to see except on Macmil maps. I prefer Sloppy because acts as both a game slowing perk and a tracking perk.

Also Stridor is better than Bloodhound because you can take steps to hide your blood, but you can't hide your cries of pain. Even with Iron Will you still make noise.

Survivors aren't getting nerds they are getting buffs in my opinion. Killers are getting nerfed imo.

Literally like 90% of the changes in 2.5 and 2.6 favor killers.

  • Considering all the buffs killers have been getting lately, plus all the nerfs to survivors, I think it's time to at least look at alternatives to insta-saw. With all the tools killers have now it's a little over overkill that Billy can rev the chainsaw as fast as he can with add-ons. I would say just tune it back slightly, or make it so the start up effects don't stack.

You will also need to predict survivor with Nurse. Even more than with Spirit, because once you broke line of sight with a Nurse, she has to guess where you are going. Also Nurse's slow base speed means she cant check around obstacles that quickly. A good Nurse also needs to be excellent at tracking down survivors. Knowing common hiding spots. A Nurse also needs to know the tiles very well, since she often will need to blink around them without clear line of sight.

She is without doubt harder to learn than Spirit.

But if you mess up a blink you can recover way faster than a Spirit that messes up a phase walk. You have a short fatigue and can blink again. She has to wait 15 seconds for her power.

  • @TheAntiSanta said:

"Now look at how detailed their feet are. JUST LOOK!"

Oh, believe me. I've been looking for a long time.

    Barefoot Survivors, when?

Some have sandals and stuff I think that still counts. It seems like the devs go out of their way to have a reason to not put shoes on survivors. I think none are barefoot just because they don't want it to be too obvious.

  • Spirit is a Onryō (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onry%C5%8D) which is a "vengeful ghost". So yes, a "rancor" makes sense for this.

  • @Well_Placed_HexTotem said:

Nurse... easier to learn than Spirit? I disagree. Spirit is very easy to play and is devastating with good add-ons. Nurse is very hard to learn, especially on console.

Id move Pig down into B tier but I don’t think I’d move anyone else around. And you’re right, Hag is amazing and the most underrated killer imho.

People say this but Nurse is actually quite easy to learn. You just keep playing her until you get the muscle memory down to the blink and she becomes a cakewalk. Spirit on the other hand requires you to predict survivors very well. Against good survivors this is INCREASINGLY more difficult and if they juke you even a little bit they will gain distance and make it to another loop. If you want to talk characters that are difficult to learn, look at Freddy. He is the weakest killer in the game, the only one whose power does nothing to help in a chase outside of an initial mindgame, and he requires you to juggle multiple survivors to be effective with him. It is way harder to learn how to play Freddy than Nurse because you really need to understand the game to play well with him. With Nurse you just practice until you figure out the blink, then it's very easy after that.

I'm a Spirit main and IMO Nurse is still the strongest killer because she can teleport through objects. No other power comes close to that level of strength. Spirit can mindgame you at a loop or whatever, but she is still confined by the geometry of the map and is still susceptible to loops while her power recharges.

I would say Spirit and Billy are equal to each other on the tier list. Billy is a more straightforward killer with 115 movement speed, an insta-down, and an additional speed boost to get around. Because he is way easier to play I would actually put him above Spirit.

So who's gonna be the one to mention that one of the Plague's feet is missing a toe because she's using it as an add-on? :P

This makes the whole thing more suspicious. Like they were sitting around a table like "what kind of item could this add-on be" and the foot fetish guy thinks to his toe collection and says "why not cut off her toe and make it an add-on".

Now we have evidence of both a foot fetish AND a psycho body part collector person. BHVR WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO ABOUT THIS?!?!

  • Trapper can break loops. Just be sure to find the strongest loops and trap them. Shack, most buildings, the bus on Autohaven, cow tree, etc. You don't need to go crazy you just need 1 good trap hit to swing the game.

Alot of those videos he posts is really old footage that he has stored but not only that his followers send him lots of clips which he then uses to make montages. If BHVR banned every account in his videos they would be banning a whole heap of innocent players. Unfortunately Ochido can keep circumventing bans by making new accounts. Even if he gets a hardware ban all he has to do is buy a new Computer which i am sure he can afford to do. Nothing will stop Ochido from playing this game on a personal account. He just has to be careful and not reveal the account as being his.

His last like, 10 videos have all been new because it's from patch 2.5. He's playing as a fresh David and blocks out his name and never shows the end game screen to avoid the ban. He is indeed still playing the game.

I don’t think this person is complaining about or demeaning foot feteshism, but rather just finding an explanation for the extreme amount of barefoot Killers.

Don't even care for an explanation. Just want them to admit they like feets. 😋

  • They should revert the changes and figure out something else. It's seriously stupid to expect people to play absolutely perfectly, considering the amount of RNG and OP nonsense in this game. Not to mention the fact that some things are beyond your control.

Survivors never save? Bye bye Devout.

Killer sucks and never gets a hook? Bye bye Benevolence.

With the new system you get screwed out of just 1 emblem like that it's a depip. Dumb.

  • I let them go only because if someone makes a save in your face there is a 98% chance they have Borrowed Time. I'll take the hook on the guy that saved you and use BBQ to find you.

Sometimes though I can only find the injured guy so I have to tunnel.

  • I've been using Thana + Sloppy on my Spirit and Trapper with great success, and now after this buff my builds are even stronger. I hate using Ruin and avoid it where I can, so I'm glad Thana can be an alternative all by itself now.

  • Because there should be a counter to being instantly killed.

IMO the achievement is what's stupid, not the fact you can avoid a tombstone. It should never have been a thing to begin with.

Also if you're just playing games for achievements then you should find a new hobby.

  • True just posted this on his YT community page:

"Hey guys! Got some amazing games with The Plague coming up for tonight from day 2 of the PTB, we finally understand her and 4 manned A LOT! ENJOY GUYS, SHES STRONG!"

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHklDPNc9WZFUY0jaZNdcFQ/community?lb=UgxAu5gDBQiadJn486R4AaABCQ

  • Self Care is a crutch perk anyway. It makes being injured such a non-issue. And since they buffed anti-healing SC has become a massive waste of time. Real survivors just play the whole game injured and let Adren proc at the end of the game to heal.

  • The real damage comes from the incense burning in the censer, as most survivors are dirty little buggers covered in blood and prolly stink something fierce.

  • @RoMainPuppy said:

But what's the point of having tiers then? If each one doesn't get progressively better somehow? Aside from the BP modifier?

Like Self Care has a similar issue (has for a long while), as do other perks now. There's really not a HUGE reason to get any Tier past one because the effect you want most is the same across all Tiers.

There is no point to perk tiers for DBD 2019. It was necessary in the past to bolster the blood webs but now it creates too many problems.

If you ask me, they should do away with tiers altogether. Survivors now have 62 perks and killers have 57. That is PLENTY to fill a blood web to level 50.

  • @fcc2014 said:

Does anybody just think we should play a season under the new pipping system and see how it is for a whole season or do we want to break out the pitchforks and torches. We have had numerous complaints about how easy it is to pip and matchmaking. Why not try this and see what happens?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/175/KLVYX8LE6FBK.gif

When I can sit and watch a streamer or YT get a 3k in a 10 minute game only to depip, yea I can complain about it. We don't need to test this at all if some of the best players in the game are already losing pips at an astounding rate. The fact this stuff can even happen, and the fact that it's actually harder to get Gatekeeper than it was before is enough proof to say the new system doesn't work.

  • @TeambossFloze said:

Strange he has totally switched his opinion and thinks she is mid/high tier now

I bet it was only after he discovered you didn't need to hold the power to use it. He was doing that for a while.

  • Regarding #1, I think if you make the infection too long it would be OP. Maybe if the amount you puke on something extends the time? Then you can let it rip for the entire duration if you want it to be infected for longer. Also I think that if you puke on a gen enough it should damage it like a kick. Otherwise it seems like a waste of time to both puke on and kick a gen.

  • @HeroLives said:

i haven’t been able to test it yet since I’m on ps4, but I think the new system will be better. That way if you get to red ranks you have actually good killers, and good survivors. Which is how it should be. You’ll stay in low ranks if you don’t play to pip. It will also engage survivors to do more than just gen rush and interact with the killer. You’ll pip naturally with good killers I think.

Either way you won’t be able to swf your way to the top and stay there without friends unless you’re actually good.

I say test it for a few months, tweak if necessary. I like their train of thought on where they are going with it though.

Dude you basically have to double pip at high ranks for a single pip. That's how extreme the new ranking is. You need to play PERFECTLY to keep a red rank. That is completely unreasonable because you can't play perfectly every game, most of your success depends on how good you opponent is (can't get Benevolence if the killer never gets a hook, can't get Devout if survivors never save each other from the hook), and there is WAY too much RNG and OP stuff in this game to expect someone to play that well all the time. You can easily get screwed out of a pip if the killer decides to camp or something equally dumb.

    @Naiad said:

So many people on this forum jump on posters saying ‘rank means nothing’ ‘it’s easy to get to rank 1 you just have to play enough. Too many potatoes at rank 1 near reset etc. And when devs try to address that it’s now too hard to pip? You can’t have it both ways. The only tweak I could see happening is Iri devout being 8 hooks + 4K.

That video posted the streamer was using a ebony mori and only 3k. So he didn’t get enough hooks for his iri devout and only got silver for the 3k. Which also means he didn’t get a lot of hits in and lost out on Malicious emblem. He never kicked a gen, so he lost out on gatekeeper emblem. Using this mori basically made him depip. Since killers insist it’s impossible to use mori’s every game anyway this shouldn’t be that common right? In normal gameplay where you’re hooking and chasing more should be easier to safety pip/pip. I watched another streamer last night that safety pipped most games using moris or survs not saving off hooks.

I’m personally reserving judgement to see how it plays out over a week or so when everyone is settling in to new ranks.

EDIT: there's one more change I would consider. From what I seen some people say the new killers power, i.e puking on someone, isn't counting towards chaser emblem? Does her corrupt power count towards it? If something needs tweaked there it should be.

He still should have AT LEAST got a safety pip. He got NOTHING in Gatekeeper despite both games lasting over 10 minutes. I agree mori should punish your emblems slightly but this is ridiculous.

Also about the "rank means nothing" comments... well it still kind of means nothing since now it's impossible to pip at high ranks. You just push everyone down to purple ranks, and now there are even LESS players at high ranks. Wait times are already bad enough for red ranks.

  • They said they wanted feedback about the new DS stun. IIRC they said Enduring does not work in the current version but it could change based on feedback.

  • After watching more videos I honestly don't think it will matter. It seems like there is a travel time to the vomit, and a very forgiving hitbox, so you won't get much more out of it with a mouse than with a controller. I've seen a lot of people do this left/right spray'n'pray method that never seems to work, probably because of the liquid physics. You are better off just keeping the crosshair steady.

  • @The_Crusader said:

If you do a few gens and escape you should be given a safety pip at least.

Not my fault the killer got no hooks. Even id they got 1 I have to compete for that with 3 other people which is what leads to unsafe rushed unhooks.

Not my fault I was good at evading the killer with stealth and didn't end up in a chase.

Its like we're punished for doing well.

More like you are punished for being far better than your opponent.

I watched True's stream for a bit he depipped or safety pipped almost every game. You can argue he is not the best killer, but a he is definitely not a BAD killer. I can understand if he got completely run over by survivors, but he was doing really well some games and still got shafted by the new emblems/pips.

Freddy is trash tho, just because you can 4K as him doesn't mean he's good. I'm sure if you played any other killer I can guarantee you would have a better time

He's actually not. He's the weakest killer, but that doesn't mean he's unplayable at high ranks. It just means you have to work harder. A Freddy that knows what they are doing and has a good build will destroy survivors. He just doesn't do it as fast/easy as a top tier killer like Nurse.

Why should I cure myself? I can still loop you and as a bonus, I keep you from getting Corrupted Purge (which prevents you from downing me with your puke). Therefore, at worst, I'm a 1 hit down but at the same time, you're a Huntress with no hatchets which is super easy to loop. As long as I don't make a mistake, the killer can NEVER down me. Therefore, we need something to punish the survivor for not being good, but for not curing themselves.

She's a 115% killer though. She will catch you eventually.

  • From what I understand you can spread the sickness to other survivors, so if you never use a fountain to heal then eventually everyone will be sick.
