@Easylife I went and played the tutorail again, and yes it definitely is running at a higher framerate than the normal game. 60 perhaps, I'll take your word for it. In any case that is how I expect it to run after all the optimization.

Takes the power from 4-5 hits to 3. I'm happy with it. Its just one of those addons that makes the power the ideal way to use it. Like with freddy making the time to sleep 3 seconds instead of 5+. Or with huntress making hatchets 1hit and take less time to charge
The thing is, it still takes a lot of skill to hit a hatchet with no wind up/cooldown buffs, and the fact you have less of them make it so you have fewer opportunities to miss. And Freddy has to use his power or he can't hit you, not to mention that his drawing add-ons are better than blocks.
FMT is just 3 free hits that a survivor can't avoid, unless you are that bad of a killer you can't hit them twice in a single Frenzy.
-
@Orion I mean like when do they expect to reach that milestone of 60 FPS? I understand they have a lot to do to make that work but the timeline isn't very clear.
-
FMT is stupid broken and shouldn't be a thing.
-
Freddy, Spirit, Huntress, Pig, Hag, Trapper, Billy, Nurse. Not necessarily in that order, but I know I have the most games with Freddy and the fewest with Nurse.
-
@DocOctober Yes this is 100% true. Freddy is a very viable killer but it's not easy to do. Unlike literally every other killer, your power does NOTHING to help in a chase outside of giving you an early mind game. Even Wraith can use his power to get around faster and bodyblock pallets or windows.
Freddy takes strategy. You can't just do what you do with every other killer you have to play smart. I've been consistently getting 4k's with Freddy at rank 1 using BBQ, Nurse's, Rancor, and Surveillance with a block and drawing (decrease transition time/increase power range). The only time someone escapes is if I let them do gens to get my Rancor (even then it's usually only 1 guy to escape) or drop the last guy on the hatch. I play to keep people slept all game, so I use my aura perks to find them and sleep them then pick targets I know I can get quickly. Sometimes I sleep someone and follow from a distance until they find another survivor and try to wake up. I sleep people a lot and just let them go, because if they aren't injured they need to find survivors or a gen. If it's mid game and there are only 4 gens and I'm protecting them, the only way to wake up is find a survivor. If I sleep everyone I have full control over the game as I can keep tabs on the survivors and stop them from doing important stuff like gens or healing. People have said I'm a really good Freddy because I body them without Ruin or NOED, and without resorting to lame tactics like tunneling/camping (usually).
He is labeled HARD for a reason though. I didn't just pick him up and start playing this well with him. I had to play a LOT, and lose a LOT, to get this far. I have tried so many different builds on him, including all the gimmick builds. People say Overcharge is a meme on Freddy BUT it's actually pretty good. If you kick gens and they realize you have Overcharge, they can't get on the gen and mash the button to wake up because it regresses a lot. So they are forced to hit that skill check, but the temptation is too high for some and they do it anyway. You can shut down a gen super fast if they insist on tapping it to wake up. It's a bit of a mind ######### for survivor.

RE: If you have a hard time tracking Freddy here are some tips:
1) Crows - This is the best way to track him. He disturbs crows like any killer would so if you see crows fly that's where he is. And Freddy can't avoid them like he can grass and such, plus they are hard AF to see in DW. If you can read the crows then you can track Freddy.
2) Grass/Corn - He moves this stuff so if you see it move then that's where he is. Good Freddy's will avoid revealing themselves this way too often, but it is easy to see him when you see corn parting.
3) Footsteps - Freddy has tapdance shoes as his footsteps are very loud. Inside most structures you can tell where he is by this alone.
4) Premonition/Spine Chill - Finally you have 2 perks that are GREAT counters to his stealth. Prem goes off? Walk in the opposite direction. Spine Chill goes off? Walk in the direction away from where you believe he is. Still going off? He probably sees you and is getting closer to sleep, start running to make that harder for him and to get to a pallet/window.
-
@Eninya said:
Him being invisible is one of the worst things about him. You can't really stealth around him, unless there's miraculously grass everywhere... and he's not listening for your movement.
I played a game the other night against a Freddy where I was using NM and OOO (I was really bored) AND he had Dying Light with a mori. I managed to avoid him for 90% of the game, and was the second to last alive with 1 gen left. Freddy is easy to avoid if you know how. Most survivors just stay in one place when they hear a lullaby which is the WORST thing to do.
-
@KingB It's not good on every killer. It's good for Pig because she can basically guarantee a proc if she saves a trap for the end game. It's good for Billy because he can chase you to the BW and one shot you. If you can get it to proc and chase someone to the gate it's quite devastating.

The best survivors I verse don't heal, especially not for the last 2 or less gens. And this "tactic" is getting more and more popular since the healing nerf and all the killers using sloppy butcher.
All I'm trying to say is that the plan to slow down the game didn't work, in fact people genrush more and more.
Let's see what's going to happen next
That's why you need Thana to punish them for not healing. If they try to do this gens take forever solo and they have to team up. They are forced to heal first then do gens, which Sloppy punishes by making heals take forever.
-
Blood Warden is plenty good how it is.
-
I predict that someone, somewhere, will complain about how overpowered/underpowered/unfun he is.
-
I like to run Sloppy and Thana together instead of using Ruin. It makes the game harder for sure, but it is IMO more reliable and potentially more effective than Ruin. You just need to have a killer that can land hits quickly. I use it on Spirit and Trapper mostly (former because she is fast and can land hits quickly, latter because it still punishes survs when they get out of the trap). Sloppy says "don't waste time healing" and Thana says "you should heal before doing anything" which forces survivors to eat time either way. And if you get all 4 injured the game almost stops while they heal themselves. And unlike Ruin it can't be taken away from you, they have to deal with it all game.
-
The game could easily run at 60 FPS on Xbox, they just need to clean up the code.
-
TBH I don't like when people make their text bright green or some silly color. It's hard to read.
We do need them signatures tho...
-
Vigo?
-
IMO self unhooks should count for Devour as long as you are far enough away.

I still dont understand why people like hag so damn much, perhaps it is because i dont know how to play her but i think she is absolute trash, if she is trying to put a trap on a loop just ignore it, and crouch each time you are going to do a gen or rescue a companionThe problem comes when the Hag pressures you to run. If you go to make a save and she comes back to the hook you are forced to hit the trap. You also take forever to do stuff unless you have Urban Evasion, so you're losing time by avoiding traps. If you just keep running from loop to loop, eventually it shuts down all the loops in an area. If you are trying to do a gen or make a save, that's now an unsafe area despite there being pallets everywhere. If you play against a good Hag these things do become problems you have to face.
@Morgan93 said:
To me is 5th. Spirit and Huntress are more powerful than herThe problem with Huntress is that she is an actual slow killer. All the other slow killers are above her because they can move around faster with their power. Huntress can injure from a distance but it requires a lot of skill to pull off, with some luck that you even have the shot to begin with. Her lack of speed makes her less powerful than Hag/Spirit.
-
Nurse
Billy
Spirit/Hag
HuntressThose are the top 5. Hag is I think better than Spirit overall, but as a good SWF it's a lot easier to counter Hag than it is Spirit. Hag is a "feast or famine" type of killer, and she needs momentum to be as effective as she potentially can be and is more reliant on survivor mistakes. Spirit has more active ways to generate momentum. Basically, Spirit's max is easier to hit while Hag's max is more powerful. I consider them somewhat equal because of that.
If a Hag is camping hooks then she's not a good Hag. A good Hag will put down 1 trap at a hook and leave.

I think there are some people a bit braggart here.
"Gentapping is done by people without skill" I don't trust the people who say they always hit the great skillchecks. I have seen some 3000-5000 hours of DBD streamers and when Ruin is active they usually go to find the totem and when they are healing or doing a generator they don't always hit the great skillcheck, they hit it more than me and more than the average players, but always not.
Stop being braggarts please. If you practice and actually just do gens when Ruin is up you can easily hit 90% of great skill checks. I've done it. I've seen people that can do it. It's actually not that hard. You miss a great here and there, and some games you can't seem to hit them, but for the most part just practice and you can do it a lot of the time.
-
If you like Trapper try Hag. She is similar to Trapper. Plus Ruin is in her base kit.
-
You just haven't met a true No Mither player yet.
-
Huntress with Deerstalker and Iri Head/Belt. Just slug rush them. Let them all bleed out.
-
As survivor, Trapper.
As killer (specifically Huntress) going to reload and there is a survivor in the locker.
-
I've been using BBQ, NC, Surveillance, and Rancor with a block and a picture (transition time/range) which has been working very well for me. No Ruin and no NOED, a lot of people have been saying I'm a really good Freddy at rank 1. Most games are 4k's unless I let them finish gens so I can get my Rancor or give the last guy hatch (I still catch them usually so it's a technical 4k I just let them go).
-
Then every slow killer turns into a moonwalking Legion to avoid a chase, no thanks.
Slow killers aren't even slow. They all have something to get around faster. Huntress is the only legit slow killer. Plus all the slow killers (except maybe Legion) are top tier, so why make them better?

I really wonder what kind of data BHVR wants to collect. How many games does it take to draw away a beginner killer facing rank 1 squads?
One dude quit and I don't blame him. We weren't being toxic he just could not catch us. He whiffed a lot and we were just running in a straight line. The only way this guy was gonna get a hook is if we just walked up and let him down us.
Why you simply don't let him hook each one of you two times and then scape?
I have never faced red ranks squads and I am usually in green ranks, but I notice perfectly when a deranked squad is playing and is a wasted time and damn stressful.Because we have no way to know if the killer will understand what we are doing because they are so new. Do they realize we are willing to farm? They may not know the cues yet. If I let him hook me and he camps, well we can probably make the save but it's going to really make him mad. It's just not fair to him that we have to play like that, we shouldn't get them as our killer. Maybe give them a green rank team at best but not 4 red ranks.
-
I've also gotten a few low ranks in my killer games, but nothing like a full room of 15's or something. Usually all red rank and 1 guy will be way lower rank (so he's probably in SWF with someone). But as high rank killer against low ranks I have more control over the game. I can choose to just slug someone and keep them in the game if I feel like they aren't that good just to be fair. As survivor you don't have that option. I wouldn't mind getting chased and hit by this low rank, but I was nervous if he DID hook me that he might face camp or something because we did 3 gens already. It forces me to kind of play like a dick because I can't be sure I'll have another chance. As killer I can be sure I'll catch that person again if I want to, and if they actually get away then they played well because I'm just way better than them.

It's easy to wake up tho.If you ever play a good Freddy they will keep you asleep most of the match. So have fun wasting every moment trying to wake up.

Rank 1 survivor in 4 man SWF. We have had at least 2 rank 20 killers so far in the last I want to say 10 games. We NEVER get rank 20 killers unless someone we are playing with is rank 15 or something, but we are all red rank.
-
Number, no. Some sort of notification when a totem is cleansed, yes. Not an explosion like a Hex totem, but something similar. Also killer shouldn't get this notification, if they want to track totems they should use TOTH. As solo or SWF you still have to keep count of how many totems are done. Having a number displayed makes it way too easy.
I also think they should add 1 more totem spawn then make NOED require 2 totems like HG. That would make totems a lot better overall.
-
Because you can't fix 'lack of skill'.
-
At rank 1 I can double pip/4k consistently with Freddy actually, so I would say he is MY strongest killer. I have a lot of builds for him, one spooky, two OP, and a main everyday Freddy build. I found the holy trinity of NC/BBQ/Surv is BRUTAL on him. Use a block and picture for less transition time and more range and he becomes a serious killer. You can't take every chase, just the ones you can win, but if you focus on always keeping them slept and kicking gens for Surv, you can win through attrition. They eventually use all the pallets and all get caught. Last perk I've been rotating, obviously Ruin or NOED work, but so does Rancor or Haunted Grounds.

If you use R you are a pirate and therefore a cheater so they are correct matey.

You should be trying to get away from the killer. It's not hard to pick 1 spot in a 40m area and just sit there, not moving, to hide from a killer. It will take the killer a full minute to check every nook and cranny.

Xbox has had mouse support for 4 months now. It's up to developers to allow it.Not true, it only applies to menus or specific games. Gears of War 4, a MS own franchise, still doesn't have mouse support on Xbox (it has keyboard support but you can only use it for menus).

PETITION THE CONSOLE MAKER NOT GAME DEVELOPERS
Really there is nothing BHVR can do to implement m/kb on console UNTIL those features run nativey on that platform. Xbox is supposed to get m/kb support 6 months ago but they keep delaying it IDK why. No clue about PS, but given Sony's history they will probably make it happen overnight once MS does it on Xbox.

Dribbling from hook. Enduring. Actually missing the skills check. Not being greedy and taking the ds user to the closest hook.Relying on your opponent to screw up is NOT a valid counter tactic because at a certain skill level you get people that never screw up. It's like saying you can dodge bullets because the shooter aims away from you.
Also your first and last points are literally the same thing. Fact is killers have 2 perks (Enduring/Unnerving) that soft counter DS, and 2 tactics that are situational and risky (dribble/slug). That sure sounds fair SMH. The new DS has some actual counter play to it. It stops a killer from being able to tunnel you off a hook (except if they have a mori) which is something that is good for survivors in general.
All these survivors complaining are the type of survivors that think they are good at the game for running DS. No you suck at the game, a real survivor can escape easily without DS. This coming from a survivor main with over 1400 escapes so... where's that Doc 'git gud' pic?
-
I want a new obsession perk for survivor. Killer has 5 already, we really don't need another just yet.
-
With Make Your Choice, don't feel bad if you tunnel someone because it means they were left them to fend for themselves by the saver. They usually split up but sometimes the injured one follows the MYC guy to get healed. If the injured guy is running from you, they are alone. If they are running to something, they are with the MYC guy. Also you can tell who has MYC in a group by the first one to start running and they almost always drop pallets early.
-
But deep down there is no point in doing anything if you think about it...

-
If you want a strong build you need the following types of perks:
1) Tracking
2) Map Control
3) ChaseTracking is anything that helps you find survivors. BBQ, Whispers, Nurse's Calling, etc. You usually need at least 1 perk of this type in your build, depending on the killer and add-ons you run.
Map Control is any perk that can slow down the game or do something to mess up survivors to give you more time. Ruin and Sloppy are popular here, but you could also use something like PGTW or even Surveillance to help you control the map and thus the speed of the game. Always need a perk for this task, sometimes even two that combo well together.
Chase type perks are anything that help you win a chase faster. The obvious examples are Enduring/Spirit Fury, but it can also include perks like MYC since that gives you a one shot you can use to end a chase faster. If you think of map control as "slowing survivors", think of chase as "speed up killer".
Also, some perks can fit two categories. Surveillance is both a tracking and map control type perk. Devour Hope can be both a chase and map control type perk. Shadowborn is both a tracking and chase type perk. If you can pick 1 to do the job of 2 that helps a lot.
Most if not all perks can be fit into 1 of these 3 categories. If you want a solid build you will need 1 of each, unless you can use the killer's power to make up for it (eg. SM Myers doesn't need any tracking perks but will need more map control and chase perks.).
Hence why the most meta build is BBQ (tracking), Ruin (map control), Enduring (chase), with the 4th perk being Nurse's Calling (tracking), Spirit Fury (chase), Sloppy Butcher (map control/tracking) or NOED (chase/map control). This is universal for pretty much any killer, the only killer with wiggle room for the top 3 is Nurse since she can give up Enduring or even Ruin for something else. IMO these 7 perks make up the top tier, with Spirit Fury special because it's only good when combo'd with Enduring.
-
I give freebies when I can afford it and when the person clearly isn't that good. If you run DS or show me you know how to loop or something I won't give you freebies because I'll lose if I do.
-
I just don't get why they couldn't make it an obsession only perk.
