Looping is literally the only skillful thing on survivor if you can make multiple loops without dropping the pallet is a sign of game knowledge. Being able to chain multiple tiles to gather takes skill. Holding w and dropping a pallet aspa is not skill but a lack of.

Agreed. One side note though (As much as I hate it) Holding W and Pre-dropping ties into game knowledge as well. If you know your team are on gens you could do this without risking a down and win the game in one chase. Greeding pallets and going down saves a pallet but then starts a potential snowball. When you go down at minimum is takes 2 survivors off gens (you and rescuer) and worst case 3 off gens (You on hook, rescuer, one in chase). I hate this playstyle but also can't deny it's effectiveness as long as your team is on gens.

I would rather have my solo teammate stay on his feet for 2 minutes than go down in 10-20 sec saving a pallet. Hard to get back even/on track in solo when people go down fast.

Random perk wheel, I have 5 years experience btw. But I'm wraith so distressing didnt do anything, the point is all I see is meta, on every survivor...

True. However if you know you face good survivors (Meta or no Meta) consistently running a randomizer then complaining about your results seems backwards to me. I use the killer randomizer often but I know I play good survivors mostly so I build that character for success (if I can). Killers already have spawns, maps, etc issues to worry about no reason to add to it by handicapping yourself.

I play a game with Wraith last night as well. I ran Purple SD with green uncloaking speed and added Fire up to the mix. My other 3 perks were BBQ, Surge, Sloppy and 4k with 4 gens remaining. Then played Artist and got Haddonfield and it killed my momentum.

Yes, with feta and spinach and Pink Lemonade to drink.

Lol. I meant no as in don't stop the mushroom pizza.

    RIGHT

  • All killers are playable. I don't use him as often as I used to (Long time fps so no quick scoping hit hard) but i still do very well with him. I just zone more than i used to which is not as fun for me or survivors i play.

  • @Iudex_Nemesis said:

When he was released I found him quite dull and only played him occasionlly if I was bored. Since the latest chapter release I've been playing Nemesis almost exclusively.

The reason is because I got the artist and I needed bloodpoints. I went through my killers and Nemesis was hoarding most of the cakes.

So I forced Nemesis to open a bakery and sell as many cakes to the artist until she gorged herself to P3 level 50 (She was looking kind of thin anyway).

I do like him but I still find him tedious at times. There are moments where it's just best to punch the survivor in the back of the head instead of whipping them and giving away free distance. The zombies still ain't much help either.

As for builds I just go full meme with BBQ tacked on the end.

I have the same luck as you with the zombies. I find Nemesis good though the way he can dismantle survivor defenses is fun. I get the same joy with the 60 % wraith add on with fire up. Ran that today and only get 1 fire up token...fun while it lasted.

Look, I love this game. No matter how much I ######### (including this post) I’m going to keep playing because I genuinely have a good time …

HOWEVER. Survivors. Do you really think endlessly looping makes you a good player? Are you proud with the only skill in your bag of tricks being the ability to find one spot on a map where a killer can’t navigate easily and just loop it into oblivion? I’m the first killer to commend an incredibly talented survivor. When I go up against a survivor that can lead me on a chase that doesn’t involve more than one go around a loop, THAT is impressive. Doing the same thing over and over again? Not impressive. I can’t help but imagine all of these survivors who would be completely S.O.L. if the developers came up with more ways to kill loops. Probably the same ones that would complain (like I am doing now I realize) about how killers are too tough

So, I ask - are you proud?

What on the survivor side involves skill? Totems? NOPE. Generators? ######### no. Med-kits/heal? Nope. Flashlights? Yes...Takes some practice and skill. Outside of that it's running the killers (Looping/time consumption) that's about it. if a survivor is using the same loop on you for a long time they are skillful or you are just bad.

  • @Zlaraki said:

So everyone is dead, the killer picks you up and runs in circles, drops you then does the ballerina on you as well, clearly enjoying every bit of it. He goes away for a while, presumely closing the hatchet. Now he drags me to the exit, lets me revive and hits the control panel. I was relieved for a moment, halfway through the panel I stopped, I just had this feeling the killer was waiting for the ultimate satisfaction killing me right before the gate opens. I decided to die with pride and Tbagged right infront of him until he was pissed off enough to hang me.

Would you have risked your pride and take that chance to escape?

I have been doing this lately (not the dancing over corpse thing) were I close hatch and let them leave out the gate. Artist seems to have to send 2 million crows to max power BP gain so it gives me more time with that and survivor gets wiggle free, gate open, and survival points. That's a win win to me. Some are sus though and I don't blame them for thinking I might kill them.....lots of dirty players out there.

Because a lot of players have relied on Ruin to do all the work for them, when Ruin, Undying was in practically every match, did people not expect survivors to adapt and start priorising cleansing hexes ASAP?

Killers get no value out of ruin unless they APPLY PRESSURE. Ruin has been in most games since I started playing almost 2 years ago and was before that as well. Survivors adapted over this time sure but Boons are the reason hexes are mostly useless not survivor adaption.

  • @Terrik said:

I leveled up Hag because I was told Hex: Ruin was a powerhouse (among a couple other hex perks), and while powerful, at higher ranks (Currently rank Iri 2 killer), it seems almost worthless. Nearly any match against Iri survivors, they find the totem, break it, and I'm down a perk for the rest of the game. The only one that seems somewhat worth taking is NOED, but even that's not a guarantee. If Hex perks are made functionally useless after destruction of the totem, is the reward really outweigh the risk of being down a perk? Or have I completely missed something here?

I have not ran Ruin since boons were released. If you like to get great value from perks consistently I recommend staying away from hexes. Now I play Plaything/Pentimento over the weekend and got great value. My first game with it I could have activated the 30% repair debuff 5 times game just didn't make it that far because they all died. The new scourge hook perk is my new favorite perk. I try to run agitation with if if I have it but get good/great value from it every game. Sure you could get bad hook spawns but I have only had one game where 3 were on one side and only one on the other.

She definitely has a skill ceiling which i love, just dislike that she's cucked by some maps, but yet again which killer isn't? Just with elevation issues on top of that.

As for the new map, i think it's okay, at least for her. I had a Doctor's game on there and my god that was painful. The upstairs with the crow's nest is particularly bad, and there's a super strong shack setup with 2 close pallets about 15m away in both directions.

Yes maps with any elevated tiles screw with her. Right now I enjoy her on bith sides tho and that not to common these days.

  • @TheGentlemen said:

Not a very controversial post, but I dislike The Artist for a lot of reasons. Design wise I think she is a very good killer, her appearance is really nice to see and it is certainly creative. But gameplay and balancing wise, I highly dislike playing against her as a survivor. I dislike playing against pretty much every killer that strips away basic fundamentals from the game with ease. Those being Nurse and Artist for the most part now. I find Blight manageable, and I also find new Spirit manageable. I dislike The Artist for the same reasons everyone else does, but I came here to pose the question; are these killers healthy for Dead by Daylight? I am not just talking about the survivor side of the game, I am also posing this question for the killer side. The Artist to me does not take as nearly as much time to master as someone like Nurse or Blight, so it feels almost cheap to rank up with a killer who can take away so much from looping and survivability.

These kinds of killers, in my opinion, are not healthy for either sides of the game. Maybe I just have a nostalgia boner for traditional killers, but ranged killers are always something I find very unhealthy for the game. What do you all think though? There are always ways to adapt to The Artist, yes, that is not what I was stating in this post, I was simply stating that I think she is unhealthy for both sides of the game.

So glad a can dhare my experiences with the Artist finally. All week I did not get to play against her or try the new map. So let's start with my killer experience. I love everything about her and I am nowhere near mastering her. Looks, tracking, long distance hits, etc are brilliant. My first gm i just practiced with birds didn't try to kill so resulted in 4E.

Since has been 4k 6 games in a row (not all easy). I enjoy her perks and her synergy with perks.

My survivor experience since i finally got to play against few times resulted in 4k (team threw game), and 2 4E's. I have yet to see someone downed by birds (except when i play her) so I do think there is a good amount of skill involved with her.

New map: MEH but maybe that will change. Better than RPD by Longshot.

    Was just joking.

I wouldn't know since I can't get the new map. Agitation comes in clutch with Scourge hook especially if you know one is about to pop.

Ruin is probably good on her as if you are hit by crows you generaly want to stop working on the gen to get the swarm off.

Discordance/tinkerer to know on which gen they are

Perks that PH likes like I'm all ears would also work pretty well i'd imagine.

I do think that Artist is going to be one of those killers that if you're bad at them then a good build won't save you and if you're good at them a weak build won't hold you down

I did try Tinkerer on her one game and it does work great....Extra bonus when it goes off while carrying someone to a scourge hook. Blows up and your undetectable again.

I leveled mine to 50 and this was best I could put together. Corrupt, New Scourge Hook, Monitor, Agitation (Helps get most value with scourge hook). Going to prestige her this weekend so hopefully I can get BBQ this time since I won't have 1.7 million saved for this run through.

Does anyone know any perks that are particularly effective against the Twins? People like to joke that there are 2 Twins mains but I've been seeing them fairly regularly recently.

(Also, only semi related I have had one successful pick up with Exponential on Midwich. It was on the top floor and the killer ran to the other gate to stop the other survivor from opening it, that survivor gave me enough time to pick myself up and open the gate. Another time a guy picked himself up but was immediately downed again. So two pick ups in 100+ games. OP perk tho.)

You have played 100 plus games since exponential came out? Hope you don't mind I will point this out to my wife next time she complains about my 2-3 games a day 😂

traps/trails triggering when crouched would be kinda OP though especially when unhooking survivors.

They just need to make it to where you can't place them around hooked survivors like most other things in the game has that restriction. PH already has a range from basement, hooks, and stairs. You can't crouch over snares (thank god) and it's not OP. I think everyone would prefer Hag not to be able to trap hooks and in return no crouching.

He wasnt nerfed, only his addons, so it didnt change much, still a mid tier killer that can be easily countered by CWFs and several map tiles. He is just as threatening as Clown.

LOL. I would rather go against Pinhead than Clown all day. Clown's bottles are better than his possessed chain and easier to use. For how difficult/punishing his chain is I have a handful of experiences where it helped me more than just basic attacking them.

  • No offense but every killer already has counters. No need for Wraith, Hag, PH to have extra counters. Crouching over trails/traps is ridiculous. I don't see how not wanting Flashlights to counter powers leads to killer has no counter.

I think they did increase the chances. At least based on how much they’re loving sending me there, mostly as killers that can’t do anything on it of course.

I must just be incredibly unlucky then.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Flashlights already have limited utility, charges, and are hard countered by Lightborn. These interactions are fine.

I have grown very fond of Flashlights lately. I bring one every chance I can..........OP is right though. Also I will add the crouching over PH/Hag I find that just ridiculous.

  • Lol I have seen it pop up often. I have yet to play a map offering as killer. I prefer BP gains for now. It's a new map why wouldn't they increase chances for a bit? Best believe I have got Haddonfield each day though.

  • Love Huntress. She's fair and balanced. For every hit you feel didn't hit you there is one that should have hit you but the enormous collision caught a barrel, rock, tree, etc. Both sides get equally #########.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    Hello everyone,

this will be a rather pointless post, but its just an observation that I made.

When you are totally crushing the survivor team as a killer, hooking everyone, outplaying them, disrupting their plans, etc. at one point the survivors might just give up. They then t-bag in a certain way that indicated defeat, and you could hearlessly and mercielessly mow them down, but that feels somewhat rought.

Same thing, very often, when I wounded and downed the last survivor, I gave them hatch or carried them over to the exit gate and let them wriggle out. Normally all these players are very thankful in the after game chat and tell you how cool of a killer player you are.

The other way, though, its works far less. If the survivors are totally dominating the game, they 99% of the time just keep up the pressure, go for each and every flashlight/pallet save, swarm you, body block on the way to the hook, sabotage etc. If the killer gives up, he will be flashlight clicked, taunted, t-bagged to no end, sometimes even stalling for the end of the game, essentially taking it hostage.

In my (still rather fresh) 255h with this game (about 4/5 as killer, if not more) I have encountered exactly ONE survivor who acknowledged that I gave a fair game, while still being destroyed by the others, and who then waited at a hook at the EGC. One singel person. Another time, that I will never forget, I downed a survivor during the EGC and carried them to the exit gates, but he wriggled left and right and crawled out, so that I could pick him up. That makes two instances of Altruism towards me, the player behind the killer, vs uncounted humiliating and hurtful attacks at me.

I know that it is an asymetric team game, that fosters a we vs him attitude, but I get the feeling that its somewhat expected to show mercy as a killer in certain situations, while a code of conduct for survivors has never been established. The hight of altruism might be to let the killer hit everyone at the exit gates, but even that is debateble as its more a humiliation ritual.

Just my thoughts and maybe someone of you has something interesting to add to this.

    Happy hunting (and surviving) everyone.

I have been playing since slinger and I agree with your post......I have had more than one though but its rare compared to how much I allow my curb stomped opponents mercy. I will say most of my friends who play DBD are survivors I have killed so there are good ones out there for sure.

  • @IsMmrReal said:

I would say it depends on the killer and if survivors are injured.

If someone is hooked in basement against a Hag, and everyone is injured. You are going to have to heal people first and then safely get them out by coordinating who saves etc.

That’s also not counting situations where NoEd has to be cleansed first.

So unless someone is trading you will not get everyone out even if the gates are open.

Correct. As I have mentioned before I only play solo so 99n gate tends to butt ######### #########. Noed? Nope don't see totem right here so bye. Solo's have to have a different mindset in EGC than a SWF. Swf can make miracles happen and 4E but solo's don't have that same info so they end of gifting the killer 1-3 more kills instead. Noed? Every solo should leave if totem in not near them.

Blood Pact, but no one runs that either. The two problems with Aftercare is how much it takes to build up, and how easily it is all lost.

Perhaps. Unhooking is pretty easy activation, but healing can be tricky with so many ways to heal yourself fast these days.

  • @AstroLive8333 said:

I bought Aftercare from the shrine of secrets. post your thoughts about the perk below, and also please post about other good perks and perks that aren't so useful

Great for solo's. Outside of kindred (which is only available on hook) no perks I can think of allows you AND your team to see each other. Bond is only you seeing your team, empathy is only you seeing injured survivors, Spine chill is not relevant to any of these perks it's killer related. Your whole solo lobby seeing each other is more valuable (IMO) than a perk that allows you to only see them.

Yes. I have got so many downs/kills at gate because they had to stop and open it first. I have also died more than a few times by the same way. You shouldn't need 2-4 minutes (whatever it is) to rescue/escape. I always open gate as survivor and seems to work in our favor. 99'n the gate is a bullshit mechanic just like tapping gens to stop regression.

    I don't know.

I play only between 5pm - 9pm eastern and I swear it's rare I don't get Ghostface. Survivor has grown on me the last couple month and I have got pretty good so far as a solo survivor. True just like every killer since Blight. Issue is the crows seem useless outside of tracking which gen someone is one. They are right she slows down to much when placing them and they leave anyhow. On top of that they made it to where it does not do damage unless hit while flocked (lol what I like to call it) which is not easy to pull off simply because they can repel in a few seconds running mid chase.

Now I have only got to play a few games with her, can't seem to go against anyone other than Ghostface so have not gone against, and have yet to play the new map since released.
