I played about 10 games on each side yesterday, but it hit me I don’t know if I “did well,” or not. As survivor I had some good chases, some saves, did some gens and totems, escaped maybe half the time. Is that winning or playing skillfully who knows?

As killer I was against potatoes so I played super fair, I literally let the teams reset a couple times to avoid really short games. Now I’m wondering if I should have done that or if that’s considered failing?

Now supposedly they’ve said it can take 10 matches before MMR starts ranking you properly... and with killer MMR being separate it may be a while before everything shakes out, but will we ever know?

I felt like my games yesterday were even more random than before, 1 great teammat and 2 potatoes that lasted 10 second in a chase every time. Or 3 great teammates against a poorly outmatched killer and I had that happen multiple times.

As killer I purposely played the killer I’ve played the most recently, because mods have said MMR was accumulating data in the background but I still got paired against absolutely horrible survivors to be blunt. I’m not great, but I had 6 straight games of 4K with zero or one gen done. Not fun for the other side I’m sure.

So again I ask, how will you ever prove that it’s working correctly? Or how will you know you’re doing well or not? The answer is we won’t, everything is hidden and secret so they can just match 5 random players and we have to trust them.

I used my huntress last night which I'm not very good with and I don't have many teachables with and all I got matched up with was red ranks and one 5 mixed in. Not sure what they based it off though obviously but huntress is not even in my personal top 10 and I would have needed someone in my top 3-5 in last nights matches.

No it doesn't, her terror radius will be gone but her lullaby will still be there

Thanks much appreciated . Time to get back to throwing hatchets

  • Actually one more question if Huntress is undetectable does that take away her lullaby

  • Okay that makes sense I figured just wanted to double-check I'm going to run it for a few games see if it helps me I don't play her often and now I'm getting back into her and I'm ranked 1 so I'm getting beat up on so trying a little bit of everything right now and open to suggestions.

For what it's worth, I think it's overrated because it's temporary. The same reason I don't like Hex perks other than NoED

But as for noed I just don't have it in me to run that. But I am trying to get Max retribution and Max haunted ground on one of my Killers cuz that I want to play with to test out myself

I use all killers even tho im ranked one and some of them im obviously subpar with so I tend to get in trouble against these Superstars survivors I've been running hex ruin and pop together so if they find my hex ruin I'll have pop top tens to come in towards the end of the game if they find hex ruin which I don't know if I'm just getting lucky but it seems like on a lot of the maps they're starting to hide it a little better there was one match with my Trapper to where I was having trouble finding it and I can see the aura

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

Since you have it unlocked anyway, you may as well try it out for a number of matches and see how it works out for you.

Everyone's experience with perks and builds is different because everyone plays differently.

Fair enough I have my concerns considering it blocks for 2 minutes and then it's a dead perk but I guess it all depends on how the survivors react to it.

It’s good on him as he has no mobility. Keeping the farthest gens from you from being worked on is very helpful to get the ball rolling as a result.

    Much appreciated. Thanksfor the response.

  • I would like it. Would love to see what he could do. I love when they put new characters in it don't even have to be licensed. My top choice is a werewolf in DBD and top choice for licensed is the Xenomorph from Alien.

Wraith isn't "fine"; no killer should be 100% addon reliant.. Without Add-ons, Wraith immediately drops into F tier. He has way too much counterplay; that even with his best addons makes it difficult for him to win.

EXACTLY. I wait to have reappearance add-on before I use him lol.

A short story directed to the Jake that I faced yesterday on coldwind farm. I didn't bother to remember your steam name and if I did I wouldn't mention it because shaming isn't allowed on the forums.

I decided to dust of my Nurse for old times sake. We got sent to coldwind, which sucks for me because I am corn blind. Corn is my kryptonite. Anyway it's a good game. I get several hooks, I run MYC so I have incentive to go after the rescuers, got some good blinks in, the survivors managed to juke me a few times in the corn. 1 gen left, 3 survivors alive and I am chasing a Jake. This Jake has been constantly trying to flash light me all game but I put on lightborn for this very reason :P I injure him and chase him to the shack. He gets to the shack, teabags several times, then touches the gen and pops adren. He deliberately left a gen at 99% for who knows how long so he could do this. I never patrolled the shack gen because it was out in a corner so I let them have it to protect the ones closer together. The match could have been over a few minutes prior had someone bothered to finish this gen. Maybe he wanted to be toxic or maybe they were going after totems for fear of noed. Seeing as how he rubbed it in my face right before popping adren, I'm going with he wanted to be a douche. Anyway, once he pops the gen he quick drops the pallet and tries to block los. I blink through the shack and hit him. Gates are opened and I down him. I hook him inbetween both gates to discover he is only at stage 2 on the hook. This guy has been a ass to me all match so against my better nature, I face camp him to death. Normally when the gates are open, if everyone is healthy and I have no one shot, then I cut my losses and secure my remaining kill. Even if I don't have noed when I play nurse I tend to let them try to rescue them because I can usually catch them before they get out. However this Jake was toxic so I felt it was poetic justice. He struggles on the hook until he dies then the other 2 leave.

No talk in the end game chat. I guess he didn't want to argue seeing as how he deserved it. Either way, let this be a lesson survivors. You piss off the killer and they are more likely to play dirty. Even if you manage to get away with it that killer will most likely be toxic to the next group of people they come across and they didn't do a thing to deserve it. This is by no means saying killers are not toxic because some are. You act like a dick and people usually respond in kind. "Toxic begets toxic"

I just felt like ranting before work :P

I had a Adam call me a tunneler yesterday because i came up to a genny and there was 3 of them and I chose him to go after. i made this choice because he was the only one without Sprint burst.

My son and I play this game and I go through this with him all the time. He gets toxic players then sits there for twenty minutes going back and forth with them in chat and im like dude shut up. i went into his xbox and blocked chats now so only friendly comes through did the same on mine helps for the most part. As for face camping during endgame if they are toxic and had horrible game but other wise hell no but BUT as for everything else 1 or less genny's left all survivers alive rulebook/my concience goes out the window I'm bringing the heat whatever it takes.

  • I'm rank 1 and I have been bouncing around lately with the killer I have not used in awhile so I have been prepared to get wrecked going into the match however last night was Oni yes Oni I have always felt if I got the right perks I can be great with him but I haven't used him enough well I finally got some teachables on him first game swat very cocky the type to bait you run in front of you let you down them because a teamate is hiding in a bush with a flashlight around the corner types. I was never good with his insta-down but I figured out last night mid-game if you demon-dash and swing during demon dash dash seems to work better and swing faster so I got rid of one of them Hooked another on a hill and the other 2 got cocky tried to hide on side of hill for quick rescue and I slugged them both game over. Swats make mistakes just have to wait for your moments, remember the basics, rotate, and remember it's just a game if your like me the more I'm frustrated the more I play like sh*t.

It's ok. I will be the light in the darkness in red ranks and play wraith, Oni, hag and demo, so you don't have to play against spirit and Freddy

Hey I'm right there with you i love all my killers and use them all even if it results in a "HOW ARE YOU A 1" or "GG EZ" which only happens once in a while on a few killers that I haven't tweaked right or leveled up yet but ya know.

  • Im rank 1 and I just got back into using my trapper and he's not loaded with the meta perks and whether it's a lobby of all reds or a party of grays it has just been to easy. One game where one Ace said the hell with my party and left his team to die is the only escape beside my kind dropping off at hatch if dc's happen. He seems so fast and aggitation seems unbelievable all of sudden. idk maybe I just wasn't as good last time I used him.

  • Most Popular for my games.

1 & 2 are a tie lately Huntress and Myers.

    3.Doc

    4.PH

    5.Freddy/Spirit

    Least/Rare sightings

    1.Deathslinger

    2.Demo

3.Nurse - On the rise lately

    4.Oni

5.Plague - Only played against 3 times ever and one was last night actually dont mind not seeing her.

My personal favorite mori is either demos or pyramid heads. When I first saw demos I about ######### myself it was so cool. Same with PH. They just look so brutal

I actually haven't seen PH yet. I have been running out my gateus so I can prestige him. Have to check it out.

    Spirit's hatch closing animation

The Head On animation. It looks so funny xp

    Demo's window vault

    Oni's mori

Oni's kanabo slam when damaging a gen or breaking a wall/pallet in his rage mode.

I love Oni's mori but Huntress to me is my fav I love seeing hachet pull survivor face up and her kick them off. I almost fell off my couch first time I seen it.

    Hag, Wraith, Meg and Ace

I don't care what's been leaked four free characters would shock me.

  • I haven't played it with Clown YET but he's one of my favorites so I will but I have had no trouble on this map as a killer and I have escaped and died on this map as survivor. I feel it's small and you can track gen progress on any floor. Yes lots of rooms/crevices for survivors to hide but I don't hate it and I'm rank 2 so I can get some irritating survivors when matchmaking is op.

  • I just came back to my killers I have been playing survivor for 2 months straight and my 7 of my 8 games I have let at least the last escape the hatch. Playing survivor has made me soft lol. No seriously tho I'm just sympothetic now to matchmaking, team members, d/c, points, and everyone getting a chance to play. And in case your wondering about the one game I didn't I need points too everyone had toolboxes, tried to hide, first chase 3 gens popped, each of them would immediately run to the bus loop they had to die.

  • Took my cheryl 22 levels to get 3 cakes my Jane had 3 at lvl 7 but my pyramid head has around 22 and he's level 28 or 29 just luck of draw on surviver side but killer much easier most of my killers are stacked.

  • See I thought it was leveled based I finished leveling up my Feng min from 25 to 40 was hitting 40 to 70k. Then started on Laurie from scratch and seem to get 15k to 30k. Hit 70k last night with laurie lvl 25

Rank 14 killer though, tells me you don't put much time into this game. You think you're entitled to free wins and easy games vs Killers and survivors? WRONG. You think pro players on CSGO, Apex, Street Fighter etc all expect to win without putting in the work to get better at the game?

completely agree I'm ranked 8 but ever since that cracked top 10 I mostly just get top 3 players. I am taking the long road I like to level up all the killers evenly which I know is going to take me much longer. But I 100% agree with you game takes lots of practice and you must put in work

  • I have oni probably my least favorite killer right now but I don't hate him not yet anyhow. I think crap maybe I do

  • Hello everyone new to forums and kets say relatively new to dead by daylight I started playing halfway through the last Rift. I have been completely hooked ever since I prefer killer I owned every killer in the game and I could not agree more. This game takes a lot of dedication and practice. Also takes self will I noticed get a lot of hate mail in this game as killer is actually kind of ridiculous seems like no matter what you do no matter how fair you try to be. But I also spend some time as Survivor once I finished all the killer mission so I wanted to be a fair killer but took a lot of losses and when you get the hate mail anyways and then get taunted at the exit gates because you let someone off the hook or message after saying your trash because you let them off the hook well let's just say if it's 3 or more verses me and there's one Jenny or the exit gates are opened best believe I am not far from that hook. I believe survivors and Killers going to do whatever they got to do to get their points and win the game I believe anything that killer can do a Survivor has a counter I know because they've done it to me sorry the message was so long

  • just having all the same issues but I'm on Xbox One
