Just don't use it as facecamp insurance and it's fair enough. The problem with perks aren't so much the perks themselves, but the way people use them. If you want to run NOED, no-one's stopping you. Sure, you'll get shamed, but I get unironically shamed for making Self Care builds. People shame for everything and anything. Ignore them. If a perk is poorly designed or has flaws, I think most people would rather it get used to force the Devs to change it (Dying Light, DS, Ruin) than have it run less and never get a proper update/rework (OoO).
Just out of curiosity what exactly would you want done with dying light. I'm asking because it's one of my top perks to use so just making sure I didn't miss something.
-
Is there a way to track your progress?
-
That's that only way you rank down for the most part is taking a long break like that. I can use the killer I'm worst with and all 4 survivors escape every game and I still don't lose rank. If your active your fine and it's very easy to rank up in this game.
-
So simply you can hear it 8 meters farther away the normal LOL sorry the only audible I know is in football

Like i started to think if its just me that always that a killer camp and i manage to escape i say SO MUCH EZ
That i could write the bible just with justification why this game was SO EZ
But like its just me that is SUPER TOXIC with everyone that camps and slug me for free ( i dont tebag as soon as you dont camp/slug me ) or i am just an #########
Just for curiosty to see if i am included in the toxic survival or if i am just kind of in my right to be an ######### considering that the killer was toxic with me
I had a game the other day as killer there was 3 survivors left. Jane, overbeck, and a talented but annoying ace. I caught the Ace and hooked him in the basement. Overbeck missed a skillcheck on the opposite side of the map. I wasn't sweating at the time so I felt no need to UTILIZE the basement so I went towards it and ran into the Jane halfway there. She ran me through a loop or 2 then led me straight to the basement so I followed her down and hit her one time as she was unhooking. After my cooldown I went to chase the Jane and when I got to top of stairs I noticed Ace just standing at the bottom of stairs (never left basement) so I slugged and went back after Jane. Assuming overbeck would get him at some point in time. I ended up catching Jane and overbeck's camping *** and when I went back to get Ace he was no where to be found. I received 7 messages from him on Xbox and lets just say they were not polite. Your the Ace in my book mad/upset at the killer instead of who he should be his teamates, Bhvr, or himself.

Just can't get the hang of her. Survivors, even at my crappy rank seem to know exactly how to avoid her goop and I find bigger or indoor maps to be absolutely miserable with her.
Leveling her to get teachables, then I'm done. I much prefer sneaky or high mobility killers. With Plague, it feels like I'm playing a slow water sprinkler rather than a killer :).
I used to feel the same way about her but when the MMR was out I was apparently one of the few people that it eventually started to work for and I got to practice with my plague against not 1 rank competition which just gave me some time to get some mechanics down. I really like her takes practice and don't worry about people not cleansing that just means you can knock them down in one hit. Don't give up on her so fast.

Oh, that actually makes sense. I wonder if it works with DS that way LOL
I didn't actually know that it gave you a good skill check even if you missed before (trying to get a good skill check, I assume)
Sounds like a good perk for people who are bad at skill checks (so new players) and unfortunate console players (I ain't hitting a great skill check against Spirit on Léry's on the Switch 😩😩😩) but still not something I'd ever take over the likes of DS/BT/SB/etc. 😕
It about GREAT skill checks not skill checks in general. When I run the perk my great is maxed every time. No I can't hit a GREAT every time not going to pretend I can but I don't miss skill checks very often either. It works on healing to and great skill check advance the heal really quick which can come in handy with a tunneling killer and there is a marginal bonus to gens as well but there are no limit to the tokens you can get in a match.
-
@CheyeneKL said:
An aura reveal aspect to the perk would be really nice. At this point I can't imagine ever taking this perk into a trial. I don't understand the point of it right now as it is but at least your idea would make it worth SOMETHING.
I used it recently to knock out the 20 great skill check challenge quicker. Regardless it 2-4 FREE great skill checks with no risk of regression/alerting the killer. It also allows a missed skill check as long as the miss is before the skill check window if that makes sense. I have missed multiple skill checks entirely because of lag/killer perks but stakeout will grant a great anyhow but not if the cursor goes past the window.
-
Spine chill - gives me the chance to creep around a corner, bush, etc and not get hit in the first place. From the moment I put this perk on It has never came off any of my characters. I only play solo tho so theres alot I need lol.
-
So last night I'm freddy on lerrys institute there is a gen in the library/office looking spot towards the middle where the basement spawns sometimes and I vault the window and go to PGTW the gen and My freddy is stuck inside the gen. I could not move or do anything for quite some time this gen was almost done so I was pretty upset. I was finnaly after about 1-2 minutes and a gen later able to teliport out of the gen to a different one without being stuck in the new one lol. All I could think was what if I was a different killer at the time that would suckkkkkk. They never did get that gen either.
-
I have had this happen to me twice before. Just got hit with no killer in site or around me from healthy to dying state. Thought both times it was just some glitch/bug didn't think about cheat. Straight recording next time.

True hrmmm guess they just see people wanting to have fun as not game intended
Look I'm a killer main but I play lots of survivor as well mostly to get better as a killer and I myself wouldn't want to farm all the time but if theres come streamers, cakes, etc, and everyone wants to why not take 100k of bloodpoints from DBD. Can't tell you how many time I get excited becuz I see 3 or more cakes or streamers only to get tunneled or gen-rushed.

They might be the last person alive and he refuses to kill them
Not what he described in his post though. Sounds like other players were ok and he was the party pooper but yes if he's last that would suck but on the flip side wouldn't be much left to farm at that point.

That devil he should be reported for that? SMH. Survivors are like wives just can't please them or ever truly do everything just right for them :)

It's up to BHVR, but I feel like coming up with more "objectives" for Survivors is going to be a bit difficult for a game like this, unless they revamp the whole system. And plus, some of these ideas for objectives may be cool but it can be easily exploited by Killers, say for example Survivors' new/side objective being to repair a vehicle. The Killer could very much be able to camp the vehicle if they so wished to.
Ya agreed something like that would't work but maybe they do something to force them to do bones. Each time a totem is cleansed a generator is allowed to be repaired. Doesn't sound to difficult however it randomly unlocks a generator and you don't know which one. So more bones the better, more unlocked.
-
Like my I see the biggest issue when I'm PH. I'm not sure if survivors fear him or not but seems like there in a hurry to get out and I would't put him in my top 10 so they have time and I'm currently running cakes on him so I can prestige so relax get some points if your see chargernick85 with PH guys nothing to much to worry about :)

Corrupt Intervention.
Oh it's on now I was just explaining the difference of his idea of gen-rushing and what actually is. I only use it if I'm having a problem like this on the killer thought this perk can get you burnt as well.
-
LOL most of gen-rushing situations I'm in - Game loads, start walking towards farthest 3 gens as I get to one it pops, 80 secs my ***, what do they claim gen times are with 2 survivors are 70? 60? don't matter don't take me that long to walk over there but anyhow I head in a direction of one of them because there are gens that way 2 more pop, this happens way to much to be because of Tunneling. How would they know I'm going to tunnel match just started. 3 games like this in one day and thats when i break out freddy with thano, pop, dying light, and overcharge, ropes and brushes and thats not fun for survivors but those games aint fun for killers. I want to use all my killers whenever I want but i feel in red ranks with current map sizes, gen speeds, and certain killer mobility, and ok sure survivors skills :) just makes it so much harder.
-
When I was survivor I got stuck on this hill glitch at end of game and a billy hit me twice then hooked me and my trash team didn't rescue (solo Q). I was upset at game, survivors and killer. I then had a match as killer and had a dwight telling me to come here so I followed him and there was a nea stuck in the hill glitch. I thought to myself so that's 2 survivors not doing anything over this hill glitch so I hit her and CAREFULLY picked her up and dropped her off for dwight to heal and walked away. After dwight came to find me again to give me a hook which he shouldn't have did because they ended up getting hammered but the point is I didn't want to win that way and I wished billy had helped me but it is not required. By now we all should not that the hill is a dangerous place to walk or run around so if you get stuck you can't expect every killer to do this. I think killers are expected to give out and be nice is we whooping that *** but in the reverse side if survivors are dominating or there is a bug they are more than happy to stroll out and drop it like it hot at the exit gates ALL 4 OF THEM.

This. I couldn't imagine not leveling and doing nothing. grinding is what life is about.
Leveling up/prestige and not knowing what perks you will run is a new challenge and allows you to try new setups you may never try. Plus I want to have to bloody clothes I have only been playing since March and I work a full-time job playing 2 hours a day during the week and quite a bit during weekends depending on family and I have all my killers presitiged, and 5 or 6 survivors, and all but I believe ace, steve, tapp, and zarina's perks unlocked but I'm working on them. It really don't take long to take a character to 40 without cakes even better with cakes. Shrine of secrets I use to buy 150k bloodpoints not perks I'm going to play the character anyway so I'm not buying the perk.

I’m a killer main and I basically just do one or two bloodwebs per match and play with whatever I have available, that’s good enough for me. 🙂 Honestly 90% of winning the match is just being really, really good at chases and having a good sense of where the survivors are and what they’re doing. Good perks can certainly help but you can win without using any perks if you play well and lose using your favorite build if you’re doing badly so perks aren’t the driving factor of whether or not you win.
Also by using what the web gives versus grinding for specific things it encourages me to think outside the box a bit and figure out what might work well with the tools I have at hand. That’s also why I like to prestige characters as soon as they hit 50, it’s a fun chance to reset and try them again with a completely different initial path of builds.
This. I couldn't imagine not leveling and doing nothing. grinding is what life is about.

Ya and I think that is exactly what happened. I think overbeck was left on the hook for awhile and with me going across the map to gens, and getting in other chases it just wasn't in my mind anymore. When they run directly at you it's obvious but I just wish there was a more medium ground to it because i got taunted at the end by the ones who survived and one was him who was hooked twice and that could/should have been the third. In the end it's my fault I guess for not having eyes in 10 locations but still.
I believe the medium ground would be the max DS is 30 secs and it starts when you are unhooked and if being chase by killer your timer pauses that way it can be saved for tunneling. if you are not hit or chased of hook it runs out quick and cant be used for offense. Kind of like the mend timer if legion is chasing you it doesn't run down right away it starts when chase ends. kind of like that.

"So it just gets used aggressively" - No, I don't think so. Even if the killer is aggressively tunneling you, DS can make the difference if you get to a(nother) strong loop and your mates can do gens while the killer is tunneling. It can make a difference between a game where 2 or 3 survs die by tunneling without DS and a game where just 1 survs dies by tunneling with DS.
I personally can say that I don't play aggressively at all and still get to use this perk in 75% of my games.
When playing as killer and someone is dancing in front of me, begging me to catch them, I simply smack them and leave them on the floor. It's quite irritating that chargernick85 says they get 'always' burnt by DS. Sometimes - yeah - you just forget that the person was on the hook half a minute ago. But that does not happen all the time to me.

I always get burnt by DS without tunneling. It's used as an offensive weapon on me. Last night in a game i hooked a overbeck than hit a person accross the map at a gen (he was rescued during that time) I got back in the chase with the person I smacked off the gen and during the chase we went around a corner and overbeck was there so i hit him. i had the option to send him to the cage (i was PH) but this game does not give me BBQ stacks or my PGTW if I do so I pick and choose the moments when I do and I guess I should have been phychic there and known he had it. He played it off good he didn't run at me with it he saw me and turn to run and I hit him and I got stunned but during this I was like man I hooked him like 10 minutes ago and I'm being DS now.

Agreed, most people on DBD act like there 12 yrs old and there dad is a VP with the hells angels. Think they can say and do whatever they want, internet rockstars but face to face meh.
-
I play nothing but pure SOLO and I bring a med kit and self care because the only person i can trust to heal me is ME. I use the med kit to heal half to 75% then top it off with SC gets me back quickly and I don't have to run off to the corner of the map to heal those of you that do get IRON WILL.
-
I almost quit last night myself. I have got extremely frustrated lately over how easy gens are done and how that's all that there is to do. I patrol/walk across the map at beginning and my tinkerer goes off 4 times and I'm like? I know it didn't take me 70-80 sec to walk across this map. Last night for the first time since I started I dc'ed and put noed on and before the rank reset I was rank 1. Both things I never thought I would do. Then I sat back and thought about it I've only been playing since deathslinger was released, I am taking my killers to 50 then I prestige instead of getting all the perks I need to help in alot of these situations, most of the games I played last night I had not 1 slowdown perk just cause the bloodweb of that killer hated me. Just got to keep grinding let the survivors have there fun my time will come.

When I first got this game, I hated every second of it. It was fun, but I hated getting matched with random people who were "every man for himself" instead of people that genuinely wanted to help their teammates survive. It makes it impossible to rank up in unless you swf. Every single game is the exact same, new player dies first or new player survives and their teammates gang up on them after the game and call them trash, etc. Then the mmr system was introduced and I actually began to have fun in the game again. The killers were friendly, the survivors actually worked together, and I found that I was surviving a lot more games and that I was playing with people on my actual skill level instead of just getting matched against/with people near my rank. I'm a rank 12 survivor, I was getting matched with red ranks against red ranked killers and I was actually +2 pipping every game. And now that they took the mmr away, I'm deranking hard and constantly get yelled at by my teammates who all claim everything on the entire planet that goes wrong is my fault. Please, devs, I just want to have fun again. It isn't fun to wait 5 minutes for a match just to have someone leave or have 2 people feed Tombstone Myers and then get angry and blame everyone else when he kills them. I understand there are people that hate the mmr system but dear god, please, put it back.
Problem is it didn't work for everyone. Not sure why. It worked great for me once I got the 10+ games done and I love the sound of each of my killers not being matched the same way because I don't have the same skill level with each one. But apparently so they say every game they get rank 20 bots not sure if it's that precise but my first 2 games with old/new killers would be like that so I would make sure to extend the game and toy with everyone to make sure the emblem system was happy so every can learn/pip and not have a terrible time. I can see how that would get old though.

I think it's meant more for killers and survivors are the mice thrown in the maze. When it first came out it wasn't working imo for my killers my huntress was matched up sweaty no lowering when I took losses just red ranks every game and it's not that super terrible with her I just don't have the theachables I need yet for some sweaty red ranks. The next 2 killers I tried next were 2 I have not used in a very long time Plague and Demo both went exactly the same. First game grey potatoes had to play with my food so to speak to actually not de-pip. Then I noticed 1 purple with 3 greys, 2 purple 2 green, then all red, and it was a 4 game stretch just like that for both. When i get to all reds the only way I see purple again is if there is 2 escapes or more.

Bubba (level 36) -> Julie/Legion (27) -> Herman/Doc -> Adiris/Plague -> Michael -> Amenda/Saw -> Rin/Spirit -> Billy (Enduring/Lightborn)/Sally(all perks) -> Clown (Bamboozle) -> My Mains -> rest.
or should I switch some killers around?

Is it so easy now to get to rank 1? it was always a challenge for me with rin at rank 10~
There are only two perks that I feel going into a match I must have I'm not saying everyone in my Killers have them I'm not that lucky but there are two perks Save The Best For Last and Pop Goes the Weasel save me so much you have one and there's a lot of survivors that just Salon Jen and don't pay attention to which ones they're doing and leave 3 right next to each other if you have pop they ain't getting those done

Queue times are much shorter now for both Killer and Survivor (on PC), actually enjoying a healthy level of gameplay where I'm not tearing my hair out in frustration from extremely good (and/or extremely toxic) Survivors nor am I going against baby players. Initially that's how it started out but it's skyrocketed me where I need to be.
All in all, props so far for the new system.
So I play on Xbox when it first came out I was having a terrible experience at thought that my bottom killers were my Mains and giving me the sweatiest games ever with killers that I wasn't very good with or haven't used in a very long time now all of a sudden it seems to be working very well I made it to my plague and works great with her then made it to my demogorgon another one that I am not very good with and haven't used in a very long time and it is slowly building up my level of competition trying to figure out where I'm at my first opponents were potatoes now I see some greens and now some purple. I'm curious to see what it does with my Mains though cuz I have recently Prestige them and they're all back to square one no powerful perks or anything.

Will a few people play killer with the ones that they haven't played with in a month or more and see what you get matched with after 2-3 games? I'm getting Rank 20s now with Leatherface after it did a 180° on me. I switched to Wraith and got all Rank 1's and 2's for 8 straight games and got smeared. I'm a Rank 1 on both sides.
It's a theory but I'm thinking your main gets easy lobbies while you're very least played gets the hardest lobbies. I just want to test it with a bigger group since I'm only 1 person. Leave your results please and thank you.
So I've been saying this for a while but when it first came out that's all I was using was my bottom Killers because I'm currently trying to prestige them I hadn't used any of them in a very long time and I'm not very good with him and I was getting matched up again very hard opponents and then I made it to play someone I haven't used in a very very long time and the MMR seems to be working with her. Started off with some potatoes then went up to purples then Reds I think one survived out of the Reds but I didn't rank up mostly because they didn't use my pools so everybody was getting hit one time so then they dropped me back down to purples it seems to be working with her

I’m on my way to reaching red rank killer however I’m faced with matches where I don’t get every kill. I watch streamers who are seemingly flawless at killer. It gets me a little discouraged if I can’t get kills every game. So I just want to know, do the higher up’s also have bad games? They don’t possibly dominate 24/7 right?
Ya don't worry about them i am rank 1 and occasionally drop back to 2 but only play for a few hours a day during the week as I'm at work. I also like to use all killers and this mmr does not work like it's supposed to so I play the same opponents type whether I'm using my top 5 or my bottom 5. Ofc course the survivors don't know who you main they just see rank so they think you suck but even with using my bottom 5 for the last week I'm still a 2 so can't suck 2 bad. Just focus on you and growing as a dbd player. Remember there are 4 survivors that can run ridiculous perks that give them multiple chances in chases and lives and your already expected the hook them 3 times when gens can be done in such little time. Just have to be smart on when and who to chase at the right times.

I just flat out don't think it's working. I'll tell you about my experience with a few killers and you tell me what you think.
Pyramid Head, the killer I've been playing the most since his release and have been doing pretty well with honestly usually 3-4 kills and even against pretty good red squads I get 2 kills. Played about 20 games so far and they've been against potatoes. I really do feel bad but I stopped giving hatch to help speed up the process.
Clown, I've played a lot since the changes to his bottle throw slowdown so I'm sure I've gotten way more than enough games during the time frame but I still get potato teams as him as well.
Spirit, I haven't played her since the Rift had her challenges lol but back when i did player her... I mean it's Spirit lol so I had a lot of 4k games. With her despite not playing her in this supposed window I played her twice and got matched up with straight Red Ranks, so they ended up being fair despite not being "accurate," according to their description how it would work.
So far I have only had 1 game even close to what I have would consider potatoes I repeat 1 game out of 20 with a variety of killers I never use and the survivors where a 5,7, 13, and a 16. I politely took the time to carry them all to the basement and completed that old hook 4 in basement challenge in rift 1. Was not here for it back then and now only challenge left hook 6 in traps in one trial.

that is exactily what the devs have said. it is PER killer. not PER account. i can't say anything beyond that. I know it seems it's not working one bit either but that is what they say.
I hope so. Maybe it is broken an thinks those are my mains lol I have not played any games with my mains since it started but I work all day and only play during the week from 5pm to 9:30pm eastern maybe Its the time im playing and some other variables. Those characters are level 50 but don't have all perks nor experience so i'll give it time. Now if I play with my Freddy or Hag and get potatoes all the time then I'll think it's broken and flip flopped.

I honestly do not trust the new MMR system because i know nothing of how it works, and that it will ALWAYS put me against killers that i've proven good against and not against killers that give me a random assortment of the game. if i start facing only 2 or 3 killers over several matches of several days I will call the system broken and report it as such. I want to face up against all types of killers and not just the powerful 2 or 3. I want to have fun, I also want to enjoy playing with friends that may be better skill or lesser skill than me.
As of now I don't believe it is seperate character to character. I am using about 6 or 7 of my worst/new killers and being matched exactly the same as my top 3. That is just my experience this week ofc I'm not saying I want to play survivors who just got the game but I am new to these characters I am not a Rank 1 with Them if that makes sense and even National champions get a warm up game at start of the year lol.

When I play survivor I cleanse any totem I see on my way to the gens. If I notice a hex totem i pride myself on scouring for it but not everyone needs to go out of there way for totems. Just keep an eye out on your way to butt pump your gens if you see one take the 10-15 secs to cleanse it it's 1000-1500 points as well. If all four members do that in the end you will be ind a much better situation if Noed pops up, and I doubt any other hexes would be up.

You also could say its far too easy to destroy it even before it avtivate.
Which is what happens to me 30 secs in. Why I stopped running it. Made it to mori 1 time in in this game with it. no thanks not my type of perk.

During the anniversary event I leveled up my Plague, Demo, executioner, Huntress, Deathslinger, and Wraith all to 50 while playing with my mains because of all the Bloodpoints. I wanted to prestige them but don't want to waste the cakes they all have so now i am using all of them and of course I am rank 1 and even with this so called MMR it still thinks these killers that I don't use or have rarely use needs all red and sweaty survivors so Needless to say i am Rank 2 now lol. Really like Deathslinger he's keeping me afloat for now out of the bunch but alot of GG EZ because they see the #2 and don't understand the situation.

A lot of letherfaces facecamped even before the patch but since it went live almost every single match with a letherface is him facecamping until the survivor dies, and survs are even worse countering it, instead of genrushing people tries to go for the save and obviously die. Are devs looking forward to make some camping penalization or something?
I have yet to play against a face camping bubba since he has been changed maybe I just got lucky though. Mine were all high reds you weren't specific.

MMR has been tracking behind the scenes for a while, but it's not been used for matchmaking during this time...so it's not fully accurate yet, it's needing some amount of games on each side before it can more accurately establish matchmaking.
So is it character based or just killer and survivor? For instance I'm best with Freddy, Hag, Oni, Death but trash with Nurse, huntress will they at some point be matched differently?

Doubtlessly y'all have seen many threads about this already. Though I feel this needs to be asked again. If MMR has supposedly been tracked behind the scenes for months now, why does playing any role feel so bad right now?
I just had a match where I played plague for the first time in months, and I got completely obliterated by some extremely skilled survivors.
On the opposite end of the spectrum I've played mostly survivor for the past week, just absolutely wrecked a hillbilly who seemed to have little experience with him.
It seems like MMR has had the opposite effect of what the devs said, what is going on?
That's what happened with my huntress last night but all night. lets be honest maybe it does take time, maybe each killer/survivor really is different, hope so, but we don't know hell maybe nothing has changed at all and it pure random.
