People don't care about the dc penalty against Deathslinger, because they can't loop him. They'll rather take the penalty than change their stale tactic for a single match.

How is anyone who doesn't main hillbilly supposed to get this without purposefully deranking? I could understand if this was a challenge during the double charge add-on days but it isn't, even if they just made it a regular challenge as opposed to a master challenge this would be so much better.
Wish people would try to look at things in the positive light more. Here check out my Billy example before all the nerf/changes/reworks/ whatever you want to say when I used him I never used his chainsaw I ran around and used his hammer and won games I always thought he was faster than other killers. Obviously I can't do that now and when the first chainsaw challenge came in toe one I was like OH crap but it gave me the opportunity to get better with a very good killer and guess what when the next challenge came got it first try. I would have never tried to get better with his chainsaw if it werent for these CHALLENGES yes they are called CHALLENGES not hey here is easy fragments and BP thanks for playing.

Bro I had some twerp spamming me messages like my 2nd game ever on DBD saying he was streaming the game and had me on video tunneling him and his SWF. I had no idea ######### he was talking about as I was wraith and his power was cloaking not digging tunnels. So I eventually blocked him after he said enjoy the ban. I never got banned and eventually learned what tunneling was but attacking the entire team while there at hook is not tunneling what else am going going to do they don't have killer emotes would love to break dance while I wait :)

I have four kids and a wife that get most of my money. The only thing I like to buy myself is skins/outfits for ALL my DBD characters.
WHY? Because I ******* want to. I like to look good why killing or surviving. Every single one of my killers has at least I repeat at LEAST 3 paid for outfits from the store. My favorite ones (trapper, huntress, hag, plague, wraith, legion) I own all purple and legend skins for them yes ALL. I even bought the pink outfit for nurse cause it was on sale and I don't even use her yet. I do the same for survivors my Kate game is on fire :) Long time ago when I played fortnite i did the same I will not admit how many skins I own in that but I will say it's over 200.
On a serious note beside looking good and because I do what I want it supports DBD which Is my favorite game and most played. Everyone wants them to be able to do this and do that well support them. The **** aint free. I aint saying go crazy like me but if you aint supporting their cause don't get on here begging and complaining. As for the rift I love having another objective in my matches would get bored without it keep them coming BHVR.

Thrilling Tremors don't get me wrong blocking the gens is cool but the tracking is what I like any gen not white is being worked on so you know exactly where to go. Last night there were 2 survivors left, I downed one had no clue where the other was or where hatch was got the bright idea to pick the survivor up and drop him to activate TT and behold a red gen I head over and game over. I love brutal strength as well kicking gens, pallets, and those pesky breakable walls much faster always excites me.
Survivor - It's most def Inner strength and Head on combo. I fast run into a locker heal and stun. So buautiful.

If I prevent all 5 gens from being completed, 3 kills (always let best teammate go), all my BBQ stacks. Pip/rank/medals means nothing to me they are so broken there not even worth looking at so I don't.

I had a game earlier where everytime I'd get close to a survivor and swing I would get a patch of lag or frame drop and miss. Losses so much time I camped when it finally let me hit someone by this time there was 1 gen and it popped will I was camping. Got 3 kills and lots of messages.

It's a visual bug.Just restart the game and your rank should reset.

I just farm. First game practice the basics but the farm helps with BP, 2nd game still farm but focus more on the power, 3rd game put on best available build and go for the gusto. Unless it's a setup killer (trapper, Hag, Demo, Etc) than I do another farm to practice best ways to setup.

My first killer match was wraith. The cloaking had me excited. Had to be 5-10 minutes before I got my first hit. Then quickly got another and another. I remember asking a friend is that all you do is walk around and hit people? He said you have to hit them twice then take them to a hook 3 times, ALL OF THEM. I said DAMMMNNN ok sure. Got one down went to find another heard a shot clock buzzer (being rescued) then game ended. All jumped in hatch. I was beyond confused about that game and my friend says don't worry about it. It was your first game and they used a key. A key?

I love mix and match. Honestly the few I own now I wouldn't have bought had I realized before I couldn't switch/mix. Very disappointing.

I thought this was just me. I have been lucky so far this week but ya when a game loads it crashes and screen freezes like my game disc is malfunctioning but I play on Game pass so no disc.

No but you can see corn and grass move though???? Bearing in mind when the Spirit moves through it, it doesn't, but when survivors move through it it does. Stridor - So you actually can hear the sounds. I know on survivor side I will run/crouch through corn and see if move and even hear it but on killer side NO. It is not a obvious and blatent as your making it out to be. If it was stridor wouldn't be taking up a perk slot. I can't count on one hand how many times I have found someone based off sound (while not injured) and all of them was towards the beginning of my time playing and all were headset based. I no longer use a headset (to many kids need to hear them) so as I said no I don't hear or see grass more. Now that being said as Killer I am always moving and there is alot of noise so maybe that factors in why I don't see the grass or hear. IDK.

Lol no. Sounds in this game are broken. Corn works both ways, and I have never heard grass. I should,is this a headset thing? I don't use one as I mentioned above but If I can hear all that with one I will put it on.

She's just horrendous to go against and unlike Nurse, you don't have to be remotely good at the killer role, as long as you have stridor and a good headset, you're all set.
God this killer is the worst
Idk she emits a sound when phasing that can be heard most of time if not all, scratch marks suck and are inconsistent and that's all she can see when phasing so it's a guessing game. Now I know you mentioned stridor and a headset with I have not used on her myself but I know its not unbeatable. I personally like pig better for loops I got clips for days on mindgaming and smacking people at loops and pallets. Is she unbearable too?

I can only think of one that is worse for the survivors right now and I get hits/downs there all the time depending on which killer I am. In Badham, in the house with the basement with 2 flights of stairs, one leading to the garage with the pickup truck,if the survivor does not vault the window at top of stairs they, go through the open door and get hit or they try to go back through the house and there is a breakable wall right there in middle and there is no place to go but in a locker. I just so happened to be using bubba last night and chainsawed someone there so fresh in my mind

Backstory: Getting DBD, and all it took to get it to run for the first time
Up until recently, I was strictly a Linux user, who once upon a time actually held full developer status for a particular distribution, and who has not used any Windows version in any substantial way after Windows XP. In fact, up until recently, the last Windows version that I purposely installed on my own system - even if as just a secondary OS - was Windows XP and this happened in the days where you either used Windows, or you simply didn't get to use that particular piece of software. I am not talking about games or even running MS office; you absolutely had to have Internet Explorer at your disposal to work with anything built on top of ActiveX. Even today you really have to do some ridiculous heavy lifting to get anything built on top of that framework to work, as even MS Edge browser doesn't support it out of the box (active X is one of those underlying reasons why many large companies with "stable" infrastructure already in place cannot easily migrate, migrate or in some cases even patch their systems without going offline until a brand new rework is implememnted).
I got hurt towards the end of last year, to a point where I couldn't walk for about 2 months. After running out of Netflix, one day I decided to get a new video game. Now, these days Linux distributions are no longer at the mercy of their closed-source big brother. While many older games can simply be installed and ran with Wine under Linux, this approach can take a lot of time, energy and countless useless packages to get a newer title going. However, Valve Corp actually allows for Linux to now be a more-or-less viable "native" platform for Steam games. I already had Payday 2 from before and that ran beautifuly with Steam, under Linux.
It was time to get a new game....and I already vaguely knew what game I wanted to get, but I just couldn't remember the exact title nor much details about it. I definitely knew it was a horror game, you are in a group of friends, and the title had something to do with the morning. I don't remember how I worded it in the search box but the first game I found was Dying Light.
I already had, played, may have actually beat ( I think?) and ultimately gave up on Dying Light. I was heartbroken... I couldn't believe that the game I was thinking of immediately buying just now, and was looking forward to playing happened to be this lackluster clone of Dead Island - a game with far more originality at release, as well as scenery that didn't make you want to jump off of the nearest building.
I decide to give google another shot, but this time make the search even simpler and typed in: "Horror game killer with friends", and on the very top of the page, there was some sort of a reference to DBD (checking it now, there are two videos that come up before the text search results) and the title "Dead by Daylight". Bought it right away, (afraid it might morph into the Dying Light if I don't)

- Install DBD through Steam Play under Linux
- DBD is complaining about DX11. I don't get it, I know I already have all the necessary DX drivers and libraries.
- .....
- DBD is actually complaining about DX Feature Level < 11.
- .....(learning about differences between DX11 compatibility and feature level 11 compatiblity)
- Great, our GPU specs apparently allow for FL=11 and DDI=11.2 , I wonder if DBD will even star,t if we make(read brute force) a bunch of (likely unstable) "patches" to our kernel drivers, and anything else we can see is being actively read on startup.
- .....(Days spent on this, but still having fun)
- .....(Starting to feel a little bitter, doesn't seem fair for Steam to sell, and even allow the install of a game on OS running that Steam client, even when that OS apparently cannot run it)
- ....(progress made)
- .....(Steam registers game startup. Wow the loading screen looks to have gotten past the feature level error)
- ..... (Excitement)
- ....Crash!
- ..... (Disappointment)
- "What in lord's name is Easy-anti cheat????" (After more research, I realize that EAC will be incredibly difficult if not outright impossible to circumvent on a long-term basis)
- ....(Sulking)
- ....(Not installiing Windows just to play a game, no way)
- ....(Fine, I might install it, but I am certainly not buying an actual copy of Windows)
- ....(Quick. the laptop I bought few years ago, must have come with some Windows version pre-installed, I bet it still has a serial number on the back)
- ....Windows 7 - and i even left it as a second OS.
- ....Win7 apparently will not do, can't remember why exactly but at least Win 8.1 , or better yet Win10 was needed. Testing DBD on a laptop with IGPU - even one capable of DX FL 11.0 would not have been fruitful anyway.
- ....(By now, I somehow managed to get Steam to show that I have been playing DBD for over 1 hour because of multiple starts and crashes)
- ..........(days pass)....
- End of December, Christmas Eve, spending it with parents, siblings and family.(Everyone's a comedian this year, cracking jokes about the cane I am still using to walk)
- Find out my dad bought a new (refurbished) computer last year but it has gotten really slow already
- I copy the serial number for Win10 thats taped to the chassis, and put Elementary OS linux on my dad's comp (terrible but simple distro)
- ....(I forgot to check if I have enough free storage to make two large partitions, one for W10 and one for steamapps etc)
- .....(First I move things around, then I quickly give up and order a new HDD)
- .....The HDD gets here after New Year's. Waste more time getting the WIn 10 installation image, making the bootable usb, and installing the disk inside the case wastes even more time.
- .....Installation screen shows a bazillion versions of Windows 10 that I can install. The serial specifies Win 10 Pro.
- .....I see Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Pro N...... N probably stands for netwroking, yeah let's go with Windows 10 Pro N.
- .....Fantastic! Wait, there are no codecs installed, Windows Update does not solve the issue, MS forums are not helpful
- .....I learn that N in Windows 10 Pro N does not stand for Networking, but is actually the European edition of Win 10 where many default libraries are not installed by default (Perhaps going with E instead of N in the future might prevent others from making this mistake).
- .....(Debate formatting and installing Windows 10 Pro instead. Decide to do it. Somehow install Win 10 Pro N again, I kid you not)
- .....Another 4 hours for everything to update, and DBD to download and install.
The game finally starts and I am in the main menu.

DBD: My first Trial
- (What? You can play through the main storyline as the killer too??!! That's so awesome!)
- (Let's play the survivor's storyline first.)
- (Nice, they have a bunch of different characters) Not sure why I see Bill from L4D as one of them, but this is suppose to be a horror game so less I know beforehand the better and I don't really question it either.
- I choose Dwight, then click on either the Loadout or bloodweb and see the initial message about perk slots.) I guess you can level them up like in any other RPG.
- Hit ready, there is a lobby. 60 second timer runs out before I even realize there is a chat there to use.
- My first trial starts......I spawn in some hospital (I am 99% I got Lery's Institute as my first map).
- I have no idea what to do yet (or at all), so I do what everyone does in any story-based new game. I pick a direction and walk/run forward.....and wait for that first cutscene .....the cutscene never comes.
- Instead I see another player running by me (They know what to do! Need to follow.....)
- I follow, they start doing something to some machine. They are doing it for like 15 seconds.....I get closer....oh I can help!
- My 1st skill check ends up also being my first failed skill check. (Not sure what just happened.... I wonder if I can die from these if it happens again. Still should try to actually hit it next time)
- ....(a few seconds pass)
- ... My survivor friend runs away from our generator..... I guess he is done with his portion. I guess I have to finish mine first because my repair bar is not full yet......so I stay....
- .........(What?).......(What was that?)......(I could have sworn I just saw a ghost that looked like the killer from Scream chase after my survivor friend. I guess Ghostface costume by itself might not be trademarked and in the public domain or something)
- .......(some other survivor got hit, I just heard a scream)
- ......(Oh no, the killer is running back).......(He can definitely see me)........(Nevertheless, I am gonna look away, and pretend I don't see him)
- .....about 5 seconds later, I realize two things a) that is indeed the killer from scream and b) looking away was not the optimal strategy
- ..... (I find myself crawling now. Tried to recover , but full recovery seems to be disabled..... Maybe this is all part of the intro)
- ......Someone helps me up....but the killer finds me right away......crawling again.....maybe I am suppose to crawl to an exit. Let's crawl
- ......I think another survivor is now also crawling on the floor like me now., I can see shadows of 2 more.... Let's crawl to that general area.
- .....(See the killer a couple of times on the way. Yep, definitely Ghostface)
- .....(Both the other survivor and I get healed by others. I find out I can help heal others just like I could help with the generators)
- .....(Helping out with a generator, feeling usefull. terrified of skill checks, they seem impossible, so much going on)
- .....Ghostface returns. Someone ends up crawling again. This time I run but he is chasing me.
- .....I see a message on the bottom of the screen. Space Bar to do something. I hit the space bar but also let go of the shift. Pallet drops in front of me. .....crawling again.
- ......(Some gens pop while everything is happening, but bear in mind this is still the first 5 min of my very first DBD trial with no prior knowledge of gameplay)
- ....while crawling I figure out that the number in the bottom left corner corresponds to the generators and shows how many are left.
- ....For now I keep crawling. Not sure if I should crawl or lay still and just recover.
- ....Get helped up again....Feeling useful by helping heal another even though I am injured myselfm. Then helping with a gen.
- ..... Fail another check, my survivor friend runs away from our gen (more likely me). I decide to stay by myself and at least try to get better at these skill checks. (they seem to be the key!)
- ....Ghostface comes back. Lets me finish my generator....then shortly after I find myself crawling again.
- ...(by now, I understand how this self-recovery stage works so I try to fill the health bar before crawling somewhere else)
- ...Final generator pops. There is a msg about Exits where the gen number used to be. This must be it!
- ...(What just happened....Ok, I guess that's a timer of sorts and I have to get somewhere before it runs out)
- ..(I crawl into some large room, with stairs going up.....seems reasonable, let's crawl up the stairs.)
- ...Now, It looks like 2 of the survivors have made it out of the hospital. There should still be one more. left.....
- ....Nevermind, they left too.......and Ghostface just found me.
- ....(Now I am being carried by the killer.. I am fully expecting to die a gruesome death.
- ....Ghostface drops me near a spot that looks like our exit gate, then ;et's me crawl through it and escape.
- .....(This level of confusion should not even be remotely possible)
- .....(The short, but very pleasant and kind-hearted post-game chat makes it clear that Dead by Daylight might not actually be the game I was originalyl looking for after all)
For those of you who have not guessed it, (yet might have read through all of that nonesense above) the game I actually happened to be looking for when I found Dead by Daylight is called Until Dawn (only available for PS4 it seems) and if I had typed in anything else into google, or actually found Until Dawn and saw that it was not a PC game I likely would have never even heard of DBD. Similarly, if I had encountered any other killer in my first game, or some very toxic gameplay, I might have given up on trying to get better at the game.
I never ended up getting or playing Until Dawn.
Since my first match on January 10th, I have put in about 1700 hours into DBD, met many good-hearted survivors at all different ranks, from brown all the way to red where I mostly play these days, and even made a few DBD friends along the way.,
.....but even all of that still pales in comparison to finally being able to consistently hit those dreaded skill checks.
Finally, these are the 3 very special and highly memorable Achievements I got after my first DBD game.

I thought I was going to get in trouble reading this at work but I made it through, laughed a bit, then realized DBD needs to help new players really need a better training mode or in your case a big read arrow pointing to the super basic one we have now:)

Sometimes I let myself get hooked near an exit knowing I will get off with Deliverance (especially if some of the Survivors I am playing with are low skilled and need some help), the time it takes me to get hooked means the other survivors can get the gate opened and escape, then I Kobe and follow. Is this considered toxic?
If I didn't hook you for first time till EGC you deserve to live. As for survivor only irritating when you are about to get unhooked but at same time I get it because you only get 1 chance to use deliverance now and that's your first hook. Kind of trash honestly.

Both are very useful. IMOO (own opinion) Brutal strengh if I get a maxed one on a character I use it. Always loved that perk. I rely heavily on my mind gaming at loop. vaults, etc.

Well this is interesting I am taking my bubba to P3 now but only need 11 levels. I choose my next character to use based on if they have BBQ. DS has it and was thinking he would be the next one I do lol. I have it on a few other P1 characters but I don't think the survivors are going to like me using them much either (Clown, Oni, Spirit). So my hate is coming but I'm king of used to it with Bubba. So many people use him in a toxic way I think they assume every time they see him they are going to get camped. I got tons of messages for utilizing the basement the other day. I hooked 1 and never when more than 10 meters from shack. I didn't hide in basement but if I'm going to haul you down there cause you got downed by it might as well use it. Also camped a meg for 1 health state but got bored and left I really don't know how thats a normal Strategy for people. I killed her at end and it ended up being the final Meg face I needed. Thank you for dealing with me that game Meg :)

What don't I know here? Please someone enlighten me because I farm often and let survivors escape if they are good so what's the point in them dropping the item off? I can't use there medkit, toolbox, or key with my killer sooo what don't I know.

Wow nice congrats. My fred was sitting at P3 lvl on and I decided to take him to level 10 in case of a ritual and lvl 6 was BBQ, level 8 green BBQ. But other than that I usually get it at levels 45 - 50 like why bother at that point.

However I find it much much more annoying when a teammate has one and gets chased and dips into it and screws over what's left of his team. I always end up being the one who dies over that.
Play 2 hrs a day just to clarify not work lol.

I've had this thing going on where when I start a map it's like my gm disc freezes and makes this weird sound and boots me to xbox dashboard. I dont even have a disc lol i play on GP its happened 4 times this month but luckily longest wait been 4 min for me.

I've seen a few of these posts lately. Not saying it's true or not but as everyone says got to stop and play sonething else for awhile before this happens.

This just seems like Hillbilly again to me when killers try to hide an obviously overtuned and low skill killer from being balanced. After spirit and deathsnorer and doctor and all the other overtuned killers get changed maybe he should be on the list. Just my thoughts
He has to place them all and travel through them/activate before he can track survivors that takes time and they can be sealed before he can even do it.

So when I go for a daily ritual I ussualy just farm survivors don't have too I just mean I'm not trying to kill anyone I'm just there for the ritual. So last night I got the Legion deep wound and my ritual build is always the same nemesis, rancor, beast of prey (hunter bloodpoints), and tinkerer. It's funny how I will knock, pickup, let go constantly but the entire team freaks out and runs for there life whole match. It's nice knowing if i got an ***hole in the match all I need is for him to drop a pallet on me and bye bye.

i wanted to give it some love (bloodhound) it gets lots of hate. Don't run often but has some use. I'm not a big slugger.

I'm the same way with blood but last night I notice indoors it was extremely easy to track blood and scratch marks best outside. I have never been able to track blood without bloodhound which I use on occasion when i am just playing around it helps track blood and has a deerstalker feel to it when slugging helps to find downed survivors.

Some you can tell they just need to fill space but some are really cool if you click on them in the battle pass and rotate them. There are some with some cool hidden detail that I like. They are way better than those stupid sticker emotes Fortnite puts in theres to fill it up used to hate that when I played it.

I haven't used a mori since i first started playing. i use bloodpoint offerings and that's it but when all my killers are prestige 3 watch out jk that will be when they get re worked.

I miss using my headphones it helped so much as killer but I recently had 2 twin boys born which brought my kid count to four and I notice when I wear then i zone in and I'm completely unaware of anything outside of the game which is bad lol. So needless to say my headphone days are done for some years :(

It's map based for me I'm corn blind so I have trouble there sometimes this new darkened Badham gets me but I pride my self on being aware of what the surviovors are doing. Example when I play survivor I can't tell you how many times I am just stunned when the killer down the last 2 survivors me and a blendette for example and hooks me (multiple unhhoks, gens, chases, etc) but hooks me and gives hatch to the blendette who hid in a bush or locker entire game. That is what I am aware in a match is who is doing what and I base who lives off that who helps there team because 4k means little to me I base a win off 5 gens if they get them I lose if they don't I win so I have NP giving hatch. Nothing drives me more insane than seeing a survivor dying on first hook that hurts everyone in the game so since no one rescued they die unless I'm in a chase then I understand why that person didn't rescue.

It's most common with GhostFace in my experience but they'll drop you near hatch, close it, teabag then hook you..

This sounds more like a revenge type thing. Probably got steamrolled game before and circle bagged at gate so took it out on you with the only killer that can do it back (don't say pig's slow ass). I let last survivor go so much can't tell you how many times I have had to play an extra game for one of my rift challenges because of it (killed all 4 in 1 trial oops forgot, get this many hooks and fall one short, etc) there have been 2 times where I killed the last after closing the hatch or letting them open and it's was both planned out for things they did in trial instead of tunneling/camping it was my way of flippin the bird DBD style.

I won't bash someone trying to fill that glove :) I thought the new freddy did great personally he was a bit more serious and to the point which was a different type of creepy. Movie has some backstory I liked but made Nancy not the main I mean who TF is Quentin? I get it's a remake but ehh. Lets not do to much.

First off before answering I loved them all but here is my list and why.
- Nightmare- Never knew what he would do or say i loved that about him (Plus secretly always wanted my own razor glove).
- Ghostface - Kind of same reason but just a knife in the end like the others.
- Halloween - I mean it's Mike he talked or added some spice to his kills easily battling freddy for me.
- Texas Chainsaw - I mean it's alright I watched them and would watch a new one but would be much lower if others were in game.
- Everyone else - Saw/Amanda I mean my memory may be fuzzy because there were alot of saw movies in a short window but I'm pretty sure she was only in 2 of the 24 movies. IMPO silent hill movies were trash glad PH in game though. Before Jason lover come Jason is trash too what makes my top 4 also unique is awesome survivors (Nancy, Sydney, Laurie, Um crap sorry bubba but you get my point now whether or not BHVR put them in DBD don't matter that helps those killers is the rivalry they had as well. Can't just kill all the random beach dwellers got to have that superstar to get the hatch escape :)
