Had the problem too at the beginning. I think one problem is the ranking system in itself. You face against opponents you shouldn't yet be facing. But once I started taking this game less serious, and not competitive, I started enjoying the game much more. And got better. You really should play just for fun, not for winning. The fact that people even have different definitions of how to win as a killer, should tell you to not take the game too seriously or competitively.

This seems a little different, you get points for playing normally as well as the new objective which is for survivor and for killer this time.
The Entity adds 2 Lunar Vessels to the Trials by default. Survivors can pick them up and escape the Trial with them to earn points towards Golden Coins. When a Killer hooks a Survivor, all Vessels become corrupted temporarily and any Vessel carried by a Survivor is returned to its starting point. While the Vessels are corrupted, the Killer can destroy them for points towards Golden Coins. The number of generated Vessels can be increased by using the Red Envelope Offering that was already obtainable during the Howling Grounds Event of 2018.
Players can find and burn the Red Envelope, calling upon The Entity for additional Vessels, up to a total of 7 Lunar Vessels.
The gathered Points will be used to fill the Moon, which will then be turned into a Golden Coin, with which one can unlock the Moonrise Cosmetics for up to 9 outfit pieces.
Oh hmm that does indeed sound interesting. Stil scared it will hurt the balance of the game, but it could be a nice addition as well. We'll see.

They do, the problem is that queues are bugged.
How do killers have it so easy now? Just because the game is actually quite well balanced? Killer can still be way more stressful than survivor. I mean you don't really believe killer lobby times back then were long cause everybody played killer, yet now that survivors have to wait longer it must be a bug?
I was just messing with Master a bit

Lol well that's fair enough. We are in agreement that killers are no longer underpowered. At all.
Freddy would like to have a word with you

Yeah I meant in general. You know, the good killers. Huntress, Clown, Spirit, Hillbilly and so on. Freddy is underpowered, no doubt, in my opinion not as much as others say, but he needs a bit of help. Trapper and possibly Leatherface as well. Doc and Pig could also still use some small buffs.

That doesn't make any sense at all. There are 4 survivors, only 1 killer.

Really don't see a problem with those addons. They're good, but definitely not too good. Just actually helpful.

The add on could need a nerf. But she definitely doesn't need a buff to her base kit.

Hitbox. Seriously they need fixes desperately.I think it's more a ping issue. Or a bug. Often enough hitboxes at pallets and vaults work perfectly fine. Just on occasion there are some weird hits that shouldn't connect. At least for me.
Also never forget that killers have arms. It's only reasonable if they hit you while you are half a cross a pallet. -
Couldn't have said it better myself

Definite yes to 1, 2 and 5. Especially 2 and 5.

BT is perfectly fine. Thank the camping killers for that perk lol.
Well I even said that NOED is a necessary evil in order for survivors to have a reason to cleanse totems outside of bloodpoints.
So not quite sure what your point is.
Also, for solo survivor teams, NOED isn't really a counter to gen rush, since they have no idea how many totems are still left. If there was a counter on the ui to show how many totems were still left, then I would agree. But right now, Hex: Ruin is the counter to gen rush.
Also, Borrowed Time gives you more or less free unhooks, NOED just gives you free kills, the main objective of killers. Not quite the same. -
And DS also needs a nerf finally.
-
Insidious and Dying Light are particularly hoorible perks and need reworks very fast. NOED isn't great, but it's the only reason for survivors to cleanse dull totems at the moment, so until dull totems have another reason to be cleansed, NOED should probably stay.

Yeah killers shouldn't be dependent on one perk just to counter DS. It needs an overall nerf.
-
Sounds good but shouldn't go overboard. Nothing to crazy that almost forces players to use different perks. I wouldn't like the idea of having an icon for using a large variety.
Perks aren't only there for diverse perk builds, but also for people to customize their killers or survivors to fit their play style and how they enjoy the game the most. -
As someone pointed out on another thread like this, they could make it so you can only use a teachable as the fifth perk. I personally would love that and think it would be nice to test it out on the ptb.
-
I feel like OoO is more than fine as it is. Can be very good, especially for a swf team.

I was just thinking that myself. I'll never forget that special Radiant guy clustering the forums with nonesense.

Well Nurse, moreso than any other killer, is the reason why killers can't get any general buffs anymore. Especially a gen rush nerf. Just imagine having a second objective added to the game and Nurse stays the way she is. If killers every receive another general buff, she will need to be nerfed. The healing nerf already buffed her though she didn't need it.
I actually agree though, even now Nurse could already need a small nerf. Especially some of her ridiculous addons. -
Oh wow, actually a nother nice idea to be honest. though could be a bit too good with The third Seal.

Aye.
Ok that makes sense. Wouldn't actually mind that to be honest. Would make Clown's yellow blindness add on actually somewhat useful instead of totally useless. And a nice buff to Hex: The third Seal.

It's probably intentional, though being able to block the access to one of the map's generators seems a little much to me.

Yeah this is exactly the problem people have with swf. Swf don't need these perks, so they can use all the meta perks. If solo survivors want to get this kind of information, then they need to equip perks that allow them to get the information, having to do without the meta perks.
Hard thing to balance. -

I'd like it, but what's with the dodging survivors with extremely high ping? Isn't that like the main reason you can dodge lobbies? This is true. Though you could also tie a feature like that into the ping where you can leave a lobby if people have >200 ping, for example. I imagine this should also be less of a problem once the new matchmaking system is release.
Is there actually info on when the new matchmaking releases?

Then there'll more than likely be disagreements on what one considers "good-enough ping".
I mean everything below 150 should be totally fine, or not?
Is what you say.
I've had some friends who don't go for anything but green.Hmm. Seems a little extreme though. I mean I would never dodge a lobby because one of the four survivors has a 150 ping. I mean wouldn't you have to dodge lobbies quite often that way?

Yes. That would be a good idea. Then I wouldn't mind OP's idea at all.

I think I got called boosted once for using add ons. As Clown. Had the exhaustion add on and he/she was very upset she couldn't use dead hard. Of course some funny insults followed.
-
Wouldn't mind it. 2 more seconds wouldn't change much though. I'm really hoping that the improvements to totem placements will make quite the difference though. One thing I always would have wished is for Hex: Perks to be active for one minute after their totem have been destroyed. But that might also be too much.
-
I'd like it, but what's with the dodging survivors with extremely high ping? Isn't that like the main reason you can dodge lobbies?
And I mean I wouldn't blame these people for dodging swf teams, maybe they just had a bad day or already many stressful games. You can't deny a certain imbalance between solo and swf survivors. But I think it would be good if killers couldn't dodge swf groups anymore. -
@Master said:

...Oh come on. Is it really that hard for killer mains like yourself to believe that there are actually killer mains who don't have such a problem with swf? I mean sure there are some inbalances but it really isn't that bad at all. Crazy.

You need a TL;DR. Your text is way too long.Nerfs are needed. Chases shouldn't be nearly as long as they are and self-care can attribute to that length. If the chased heals themselves after being hit away, that will prolongue the chase as they need to be hit all over again. When chases are long, a lot of killers will resort to camping and tunneling off of hook to ensure a kill. Self-care shouldn't be nearly as good as it is now, anyway. I still think making SC not hold if you start moving would be best as it can't be used in chase.
What rank is your killer? Maybe spend more time on them. It's best to play both equally so that you can understand stuff from both perspectives.
Respawning hooks and traps are necessary. Without them respawning, people would just sabbo them all and the killer would be without a power (traps) and having to take everyone to the basement from wherever they got downed on the map.
And yes, some perks are useless or less useful. Both killer and survivor has them.
Wiggling is a joke unless you're far away enough from the hook and people take hits. They're increasing the distance between them I do believe.
Oh, did you join the forums 'cause seeing Legion can see people inside the locker pissed you off? o-o lol
Ok. Firstly, no. Most the chases are an average of 30-40 seconds. Just stop. Survivor needs NO MORE nerfs. Killers just need buffs. Legion need some counterplay or a rework but also buffs. Freddy is still waiting for his rework. Leatherface is crying because the devs wont adress him and so on. Self care right now is absolute trash it hurts you so much that you can get half a gen in the time your healing. If a survivor manages to catch 32 seconds (38 if you're running Sloppy butcher) and heal up then you're obviously doing something wrong. Nobody uses Self care in chase. If they have a medkit, you still shouldn't be giving them time to heal.
I don't know how people still think healing needs a nerf.
Wait how is Self Care trash? It's perfectly fine the way it is. You do get that you don't waste anymore time healing yourself as when somebody else heals you?
But survivors definitely don't need nerfing, I agree. I'm even happy with the very small buff to medium vaulting. Many killers aren't underpowered anymore. -

I just speak from experience and observation. I've watched many of the top streamers on youtube, and they're all rank 1 killers, and even as they 3 and 4 kill, they still whine about "my ruin is gone", "pallets, etc", "now he'll get the hatch". They are very good and the gameplay is great to watch, but their constant whining is annoying. Here they are getting 4 kills as freddy at rank 1 and they're whining about putting people to sleep. Even the devs are funny. I've watched the dev FAQs and streams, for instance they talk about how the ruined building on McMillian estate is loopable if the survivor hugs the square structure, however they are pandering to the killers even still, that building never is by itself, there are always interruptions, boxes, generators, rocks next to the building that breaks it up and then the example they gave wasn't even valid because the structure isn't only a square. Killers at rank 1 are salty and sweaty. As I've said earlier, They tunnel and camp. What I'm seeing is that is that the devs keep nerfing survivors to make killers dominate a 4 SWF where all 4 are excellent surivvors. That simply isn't the usual experience. SWF lobbies take so long I 99% play by myself. I prefer to be the only one on my part of the map, If 4 are on different gens, it's more efficient, gens also need done around the map to prevent the 3 gen strategy, which noone thinks ahead about. Many people derank to have more competitive games. I also double pip as killer at rank 8, I just don't get the excitement out of chasing people down as a juggernaut as I do trying to outsmart the strongest character in the map.
The last two patches, have, if anything, have favoured survivors anyways. Tunneling and camping is it's own design problem, but there's not a lot to do against it as long as gen rush is as effective as it can be at times. I do hope they'll help solo survivors in the future though to deal with camping killers more efficiently, the same way swf survivors can.
People who still think killers are underpowered and need more buffs are also wrong in my opinion, unless we are talking about the lower tier killers of course. -
@Tzeentchling9 said:
I love how the OP pointed to farming killers as skewing the survival rate in the Survivors favor, and blatantly ignored the Survivor DCs WHICH ARE WAAAAAY MORE PREVALENT that skew the rate in the Killer's favor.Exactly
-
It's an issue since it makes healing each other useless if all run Self Care and will put anyone and any team in a disadvantage if only one survivor doesn't run it because the others would have to waste a lot of time healing the one without Self Care.
-
@Cetren said:
I totally agree, but they should make it a "teachable perk slot" where you can use one of the perks that character has. With Dwight finally getting a rework, every character should have a decent perk to take in that spot. That would actually be really good. Better than just having a fifth perk slot for any perk.
I think something like that should only happen though once DS is finally reworked, or I feel like there will be a lot of lobby dodging as soon as a Laurie pops up, cause you can be pretty sure that she's gonna run DS. -
True, the sound improvements are really important. Can become quite frustrating when you can't hear survivors like at all. But it's probably not that easy to just release these fixes right now.
I also can't wait for the new Surveillance. Already unlocked it on Clown in the live version, it's so freaking good now. -

Then..... LOOK AT A WALL. seriously whine much? It's not hard to avoid flashlights. Look at a tree, a wall, anything except the open where a survivor with a flashlight is. I like flashlight save attempts, It's an free extra 1, or 2 hits for me as killer. With the nerfs to flashlights it takes a lot of skill to do it right, which most don't have.
Dude are you asking him why he whines so much? Maybe want to have a relook at your original post?
-
No
If a 5th slot is enabled every survivor would be using DS and every killer would be using NOED/Ruin. That perks are very frequent, but with a 5th slot almost everyone would be using them.
If i had a 5th perk slot i would run WGLF, honestly. But yeah, 4 slots are enough and perfect for different kind of builds. A 5th one would mean even less build diversity.
I think with so many perks available now, I still believe there would be a lot of build variety. If anything it would let players who want to always run one certain perk be able to try some other perks as well. I'd love it. More than 5 and then yeah I would see that becoming a problem for build diversity. But I think one more perk slot would be good and wouldn't really hurt build diversity a lot.
-
Honestly, I don't think Legion sucks. If you want to learn how to play him, I recommend tru3ta1ents videos, he knows how to do really well with Legion. I wouldn't mind though if he sucked as of now, since he has no counterplay and is so boring and frustrating to play against. I'm against survivors rage quitting but I can definitely understand why survivors do that against Legion.
-
The last time survivors were nerfed was three patches ago. In the last two patches (including the ptb one), survivors haven't been nerfed at all. Some of their perks got buffed, medium vaults are now slightly faster, and lockers block auras.
And your complaints about the wiggling and hook respawning, I mean do you want killers not be able to complete their objective at all anymore? What are killers supposed to do if there are no more hooks on the map? What the hell?
And if you want to talk about the survivor escape rate for the game's balance, don't forget the many, many games where one survivor rage quits and makes the rest of the team lose because of that. There have been enough games were survivors would have escaped but haven't cause some survivor player rage quit early on. Doesn't mean survivors are underpowered.
Weird hitboxes also are problems of connection issues. Has nothing to do with balancing.
Game's honestly in the best state it's been balancing wise, killers are no longer underpowered.
