I don't know, I personally have always noticed quite the difference when using Ruin and when not using Ruin. I don't think there's anyone who can hit every single great skill check. Obviously it's more effective at lower ranks, but it still helps me at rank 1 as well in my experience.
-
Well sure but tryhard doesn't necessarily seem fitting either.

this is coordinated group he played. Not every swf is like this. These "swat squads" are few and far in-between. You can't balance this game based on a small percentage of the player base. The best would be if the devs were able to find a way to nerf gen rush somehow so these extremely organized 4 man swf teams get hit by it a bit but the other normal survivor teams don't really get impacted by the nerf in any way, especially considering that the escape rate for survivors is under 50%, especially at lower ranks. But I don't really see how that's possible. So this is true.
Closing the balance gap between solo and swf survivors is the best they can do I feel. -

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just run out before the killer can hit you? And if that's not possible, well it's not that bad.But if he runs out before I hit him there is a small chance (in his mind) that I wouldn't have noticed him teabagging me for the last 5 minutes. Can't have that, right?
Well I certainly hope that isn't his problem. That would be beyond ridiculous.

I've suggested built in proximity chat on here before but everyone goes insane disagreeing with the idea. It's definitely not as strong as swf voice comms but at least survivors will have no one to blame but themselves for not working as a team. Though some killers like trapper will get hit pretty hard by this.
No proximity chat, we need global teamchat for survivors, otherwise TS/discord will still be superior and thats what the game has to be balanced around
I mean just implementing chat into the game won't fix the balance. There are enough people who don't want to chat while playing survivor solo and get yelled at by some salty kids.
If you dotn want the advantage of chatting, thats fine, but dont deny the possibility for everyone else.
Fact is that voice comms are part of the game now and the game needs to be balanced aroudn themI don't want a game balanced around something the majority of players won't use.
The majority of players already plays SWF, just fyi
yeah but they play with friends, not with strangers. I wouldn't want to chat with strangers.
You just said "I don't want a game balanced around something the majority of players won't use."
But fact ist that most of the players are using voice comms already, having an advantage over killers.Yet, as far as I understood you, you want to keep the game balanced around solo play because you are a bit "socially awkward" even though you are the minority
Oh and btw, ofc there will be a mute button. You wont be forced talkign to strangers
I'm saying that there are enough people who don't want to communicate with strangers, simple as that. If your solution is to add voice comm to the game, and then buff most killers to the level of swf survivors, then watch all the solo survivor players leave this game because they don't want to chat with some salty strangers, yet if they don't use voice comms, will have a serious pr disadvantage and also put the rest of their team into a disadvantage. That's not going to work.
I wouldn't mind if voice chat was added to the game, but the game's biggest balance gaps between solo and swf survivors need to be adressed with ingame built in abilities for survivors that help solo survivors but not swf survivors. Aura reading abilities like kindred Tier 3 come to mind. But its ok for killers to verse SWF while the game is being balanced around no voice comms. Guess they will have to suck it up eh?
Uhmm, I said they need to close the gap between swf and solo with aura reading abilities and other ingame abilities for survivors, and then killers can be balanced around swf more appropriately. Or did you just skip that part? And it really isn't that bad honestly.

It definitely has more than 8 or 9. It's just the map is incredibly huge, which on the other hand is kinda bad for killers since they can't apply a lot of map pressure.
It doesn't have a lot compared to the usual 15-20 that most maps have. It sucks for both sides.
I just played the map and it has well over 10 pallets, I'm sure of that. Not as many as other maps have though, that's true. But the fact that this map is so huge that it's hard to apply any map pressure as killer plus the fact that survivors can hide really well on that map makes it rather survivor sided in my opinion.

Some nice ideas. The values for Thanatophobia would be way too much though, considering that Sloppy Butcher only affects healing and decreases the healing speed by 20%. If it was only repair speed, than maybe it would be fine, though on Legion it would probably still be overpowered.
Also, Lithe shouldn't also increase your vaulting speed. Pretty sure those changes would easily make it the best exhaustion perk. I think the reason why you need to be in a chase with Lithe is that if you already gain quite a bit distance to the killer, and then use Lithe, you might get so far away that the killer will just lose you and have no chance of keeping track of you. Maybe. Not sure though.
Fire Up would also be too good with the suggested change in my opinion.
And one question about Beast of Prey. Would it reduce the size of the Red Stain or the intensity?I'll change Thanatophobia and Lithe. Beast of prey would reduce the size of the Red Stain.
Ok well it's just my opinion, you don't have to change it just because I think it would be op.
But I really, really like that idea for Beast of Prey, would actually make it another viable perk that helps killers in chases.Yeah, especially when a survivor tries to loop you around a pallet. Any ideas on how I can change this?
Wait change what?
Change Beast of Prey, as you said it would be too OP and my OCD kicks in whenever I leave something that needs to be changed, unchanged.
Maybe I could change Lithe so that if you exit a locker quickly anytime, you break into the speed burst.
Oh no I meant Thanatophobia and Lithe, the way you originally suggested them. I think Beast of Prey would actually be great. Maybe not 75% but 60% or something like that for tier 3, but otherwise I feel like that would be a good change.

One last thing though, the problem i would still see for Lithe the way you suggest it should be is that it would become potentially useless against killers like Micheal, or even Wraith, when they have no terror radius.

I dont think so...
Low Tiers: CLOWN, Leatherface, Wraith, Freddy, Legion.
If a survivor TRY to counter his power its really easy, the max. u will get is a pallet drop sooner which doesnt guarantee a hit. He has NO end game and is just another wraith on open areas.
Hmm interesting. Personally I would rate Clown mid tier, maybe even mid-high tier. His map pressure is probably the worst out of all killers, but in my opinion he is really strong against loops. I mean the thing is of course survivors can just wait at pallets, but that would mean they'd be wasting a lot of pallets very fast. if you try to loop the clown though, chances are very high you'll get hit by him.

Well sure though I meant I hate it as killer. It's so huge that most killers can't properly apply any map pressure, there's so much corn and I wouldn't say that that map doesn't have many pallets. Not as many as some other maps, but then again none of the pallet loops are really mindgameable.

Maybe yeah. Though some would argue Nurse has very little counterplay to, in chase that is. I think it's just important that no matter how good a killer is at chases, survivors should be able to affect the chase and the duration of the chase in some way.

I understand the frustration. But do consider players that aren't good enough to face these kind of teams yet still are rank 1 because of the messed up rank system. I agree though it's a problem. But the best solution would be for the devs to improve on the imbalance between solo and swf survivors. Yeah rank system is far from being perfect, but players won't get any better by dodging.
In this case rank or teams weren't the problem (since i was playing solo and they couldn't see my rank).
I swear this community behaves like a hive.
It's a bit extreme. I never have dodged any lobby and I won't ever. I enjoy the challenge. I think the problem is that playing killer isn't just challening againt good swf teams, but stressful. I think the fact that as a killer you are under constant pressure because survivors can repair gens fast, and that's what leads people to dodge swf and think killers are underpowered. But personally I don't think they are underpowered, just the way killers lose, you know, by being gen rushed, causes a lot of problems for killer players. If you get what I mean.
Playing killer will be always more stressful no matter what (either if they are underpowered or overpowered).
Why? For 2 main reasons:1 - they got the ability to kill people, if they don't they feel like they totally failed. As a survivor you kinda accept death.
2 - killers got limited time to kill survivors and are constantly looking for them. As a survivor you just do your job (hold one button) till you hear the heartbeat.
Last but not least swf aren't that op. They CAN be but most of them are just friends who want to play together. And honestly, SWF are more predictable and give more bloodpoints than solos.
I agree with all of that. I as well don't think swf is nearly as op as others say. I'm just saying it's the fact that killer can be more stressful because of the reasons you said why people try and dodge swf. Cause they don't want to be stressed while playing the game. I mean normally you don't want to be stressed while playing any game. I'm not justifying that though. I personally would love a higher penalty for people who lobby dodge constantly. I also have no problem with any swf team at rank 1. I enjoy the challenge. But many people just get too stressed out, but to be fair those probably shouldn't be at rank 1 then.

Yeah the perk grind needs to be looked at. Pretty sure the devs said that they would try and improve that. But it's a seriousl problem. I started playing the game 5 months ago, and I did struggle because I didn't have the good perks you would need to compete in higher ranks. Obviously I wasn't that good yet as killer as well.

try to predict their movement and cut off their path with them instead. make them run into the open field and you can get them. the bottles are also great for shortening loops, as they make survivors run slower than normal, denying them the ability to run around the same pallet / window many times.
however, he rarely has any map pressure, so make sure to change that with perks to slow down the gen repair speed (e.g. Thanatophobia or Hex:Ruin).
otherwise he is a very strong killer and you just need to practice him a for some time.
Been running him with pop till i can get ruin or Thana up and running. Getting 2ks mostly.
Got a 3k, but i can only go so far with two-three perkslots(yes i know i should gain with another and pour into thw bloodweb but i like learning as i play)Clown might just be the worst killer regarding map pressure, since he has no way to speed up and wastes lots of time reloading his bottles. So Hex: Ruin is very helpful, or other perks that help you with map pressure, like Discordance.

Let's also add camping and tunneling. I'm sorry, but if killers want a nerf to gen rush, they also need to accept a nerf to camping and tunneling. That shouldn't even be a discuission. -
Lol what about the sound bugs that have been in the game since the last Legion patch? Or the bugged scratchmarks? Which by the way is a bigger deal since it affects the gameplay of all killers all the time. How does that fit into your accusation of devs favoring killers? Would like to know.

I mean he isn't using a single perk. Or addon. Of course he will struggle. Doesn't prove that the game is unbalanced.
-
I agree this needs adressing quick. You should be able to unlock three or four perks per bloodweb, not just one.
-
I think I did it once. But that was after many other frustrating games. You never know what the person had to deal with before.
Now that I take the game less serious I don't do that though anymore. -

Just add another objective for the survivors that NEEDS to be done to open the gates. Solved.Just doing that would actually ruin the game. Certain top tier killers would become way overpowred, such as certain killer add ons and Ebony Mori's.

This would be nice, still in effect after someone dies would be cool too.No that not. The way Thanatophobia works right now actually discourages camping and tunneling. Would be nice to keep it that way. Instead just buffing the values would be good. But only for gen repair speed, not for healing.

I honestly love the game as it is now. Survivor and killer are both fun. If you are having trouble with gen rush I would suggest Hex: Ruin, even though it may be destroyed early on. Otherwise, Discordance and soon Surveillance are brilliant perks to help you apply more map pressure.

Yeah I often have the same problem. It’s really hard to tell when you’re going to be hit if the killers weapon never touches. There’s been a ton of times where I think I’m okay, only to get hit by nothing 5 feet away. I wish at least they could smooth the animation out a bit or something.Yeah working on the animations might help. Just so hits don't look as weird and can be better judged by survivors. Though if you are getting hit by nothing 5 feet away, it's probably also latency.
-
I agree that the hitboxes are a bit weird. In my experience, they work well most of the time, but at occasions they seem a little off. No matter what though, playing killer shouldn't be made even harder than it is now, by making it harder for them to even just hit a survivor. The hitboxes are fine, it's latency that causes issues. Of course, the weird hits at pallets and vaults shouldn't happen, but once again, those are mainly due to latency.

I'd love a nerf to camping, but I think a built in Borrowed Time isn't the way to go, simply because it can also allow you to unhook very unsafely without the killer going away. As a perk that's fine, but I feel like there needs to be a different way of dealing with camping. I think the best first step would be to show the killers aura to all survivors when the killer is within a certain range of the hooked survivor. Like Kindred Tier 3, but with a bigger radius. SWF survivors already have this advantage, so it would only be an improvement for solo survivors.

I think it's my most hated map too. Together with Azarov's Resting Place and Blood Lodge.
-
I agree that killer is more stressful, since you are on a time limit and mistakes as a killer get usually much more punished. A few mistakes can heavily impact the outcome of the game.
However, killers, aside from the low tier killers like Freddy or Trapper, are no longer underpowered. Definitely not.
