@JammyJewels said:> So, Survivors, what's your thought process when a killer is staying by your hook? Do you assume they're camping and do you then proceed to go out of your way to message the Killer?

The killer is camping. I'll wave my arms and pray my teammates do gens so my 2 minutes of no-fun don't go to waste. I don't message the killer because that's dumb and childish. If the killer camped me from 100 to 0 on the first gen with BBQC, then sure, I might leave a snide remark in end-game chat if I care to stay.

And Killers, how many of you are actually guilty of 'camping' for no reason? And how many of you face these sorts of messages every time you play?

Always guilty. I report the messages and move on. If the devs intend on encouraging killers to camp, I will continue to camp.

At this point, it's very discouraging. I was having a lot of fun prior to this. But when you see someone accuse you of these things, insult you and belittle you... It disheartens you. Of all player groups in this game, Survivors are slowly becoming my least favourite.

People harassing you is not an intended part of the game. You should just report them and continue to play the way you want to play.

Fair point. But given this is a multiplayer based game negative interactions from other players may as well come with the welcoming package. And besides, I can't report those on console unless it's against Sony's Code of Conduct.

Ah, sorry to hear. I know the devs can't ban people on consoles... I think, so it's kinda hard either way.

I guess you can block PMs from non-friends. That's what I do on other games anyway.

Probably because it tilted the game's survival numbers too far into the killer's favor.

It is a hatch. The problem is standoffs, and the way it is now.. tilts the game very much in the survivor's favor.

Getting a hatch game is almost a guaranteed escape by a survivor.

So your team got 2/5 gens done and you want a free escape? What is this?

It is very survivor sided. It needs changed. Badly. Currently I do my VERY best to slug anyways... so enjoy that.

Too many times, I hook the 3rd person and the other person just hides out at the hatch and gets away.

One survivor. Presumably, because of the hatch, games average out at 2 escapes and 2 kills.

The point of the hatch is to give a chance for survival after a hopeless game. That in mind, it makes sense for it to be survivor sided. After all, having everyone else dead is hopelessly killer sided.

Not that the standoff is any fun.

It has been survivor sided for 2 years.

Just because your team got 2/5 gens done doesn't mean you should be allowed to escape.

In some trials in a game called "Survive by Daylight"... no wait... I mean "Dead by Daylight"... you die.

    Rethink your logic.

Then they'll implement other changes to hit the balanced 2-2 ratio, and I'm sure you won't like any of them regardless.

Uh huh. There's a reason why they're called SURVIVORS and not VICTIMS.

That weird sound swapping bug happened when the Pig was introduced too. I guess it's just a new killer problem.

Rancor though... I wonder if same killers who said ds/hatch rewards failure will disagree when i say rancor rewards failure for giving a free kill after gens are done xD

Killers have enough perks for late-game builds. Survivors do not. I don't think the two are comparable.

We have to consider that end game builds are more viable for killers than survivors due to the asymmetry of the game.

Killers will almost always have an end-game unless they win by a landslide. Survivors only have end-game when they're winning, at which point they hardly need them. Endgame perks also have to be ridiculously good, and they risk being oppressive in the hands of tryhard SWF (ex: Adrenaline).

If the blood thing is a bug, and it sure seems that way, then Bloodhound and Sloppy Butcher should be replaced with Stridor+something else I haven't thought about yet.

    M&A?

Not unless it affects the audio cue when she's near.

Maybe shadowborn to see better scratch mark's?

Predator takes care of that. I think I got it: Bitter Murmur.

I feel like Rancor would be better than Murmur.

It'll go well with StbfL since you'll be ignoring the obsession till the end anyway. Then you just instadown and mori at the end.

Besides it's the PTB, calm TF down. If u want ur ez free kill then go play braindead billy.

Can you imagine the comments we'd get if Nurse was the new killer?

I rarely if ever hit bloodlust 2 as killer, and I have never hit bloodlust 3 without specifically trying to go for it. Each time I've asked, everyone tells me the same. A single pallet is all it takes to reset bloodlust.

You'll 100% need Bloodlust when you are in those loop spots, EG Groaning, Cowshed Farmhouse, Wretched Shop, again can't tell as of now since haven't been playing much yet, so hopefully the maps are fixed

if the maps are fixed they can honestly remove Bloodlust all together, I just don't want to see Infinite/semi infinite still exist in the game

Did you read the patch notes?

I think the killer shack and basement need an overhaul.

Doesn't make sense for it to be one of the safest and consistent loop locations in the game, now does it?

Maybe making it a dead end with no windows? That way, a pallet save would have to be conducted from inside the shack with no way to escape.

I wouldn't mind that, but would prefer if it were a variation.

I think they need to spice it up with RNG, like boarded up windows, or the window spawning as a surprise a drop down to the stairs like in Lery's.

Similarly, there should be an option for a hook to spawn inside the shack, coupled with a boarded up window if it doesn't have the basement.

  • You know there's a priority problem when we're all perfectly fine with the act of killing people online but throw hands the moment we get a little bit of nudity.

Sorry, too many threads were people were discussing things calmly and expressing concerns and then suddenly a wild survivor main crying "STOP BITCHING! GAWD!" People are allowed to engage in debate..unless you're a killer main. I forgot. Then no matter what you're doing you're whining or crying. That's what's ridiculous. I've seen several well thought out posts just shutdown or invaded by survivors who add nothing to the conversation but name calling and insults. Were some people just whining? Sure but not everyone was but they were still attacked by survivor mains and just outright DISMISSED by devs.

Sorry but to me that's what's ridiculous.

1 hr in: "KILLER IS OP"
Killer mains: Stop with the kneejerk reactions!

1 hr in: "KILLER IS UNDERPOWERED"
Killer mains: We are expressing intelligent opinions!

I will say, in their defense, that they're usually better at determining whether or not something is going to be OP than Survivors are. Remember the Nightmare nerf?

To be fair, the devs finally admitted that nerfing Freddy 2 days into the patch was a stupid choice, and they handled the Clown pretty well.

But it's only been a few hours. Most people are still at work. ( :( ) If she is as weak as people claim, she will probably get the same Clown treatment and be buffed a bit.

  • Campers will camp regardless.
    It's an OKAY perk.
  • Killers: Nerf BL after addressing landmark infinites
Devs: We nerfed BL and adjusted landmark loops
Killers: WHY DID YOU NERF BL??
  • The game is fun with friends.
The game is not as fun without friends.
They should introduce an AI mode for killers who cannot stand the challenge.
You're gonna hear the same nonsense if/when they introduce KWF.

I'm just gonna start dcing from lobbys if I see 4 people join at once.

Like most killers don't already do that. Lmao
  • I've never heard of devs giving legacy back. Say goodbye forever. 🙏
  • Throw your body at the killer.
It's not bannable, I think. It's "unsportsmanlike", but who really cares? If you feel guilty about throwing, then just gen rush and don't do anything else (don't attempt to escape the killer). You'll still depip as long as you die.
  • ######### is that matchmaking lol
And it takes 5 to farm. If you're not down with it, that's on them.
  • If it's a scary samurai, sure... But creepy, crawly ghost women are a staple for horror. Hope it's a stealthy killer that moves quickly!
  • Are there any plans to address unfair looking inconsistencies through windows and across pallets?
Many hits across pallet vaults overly favor the killer, as the survivor is hit unless they're already most of the way across. On the flip side, chainsawing survivors vaulting across pallets usually detect the pallet before the survivor somehow, even at the very beginning of the animation.
Similarly, windows seem to work the same way, but it's especially unfair when chainsaw hits go through windows, when visually unfeasible.
As it is now, killers would rather bloodlust through window and pallet loops than to vault or break them, making it almost impossible to break LoS and lose the killer in most maps.
  • Killers: Gen rush if you have a problem with camping.. It's the survivor's fault for letting this happen.

Also Killers: I camp because survivors gen rush. It's the survivor's fault for making me do this.

  • I don't care if she's strong like the Clown, as long as she's scary like the Hag.

And they'll simply get dodged if they don't.

One problem exists because of another. They shouldn't be addressed separately.

Killers will just DC with last-second switches or make sure last-second switchers die first and as annoyingly as possible. I'd rather they lobby dodge.

Trying to force people to play games they consider unfun will never work. Survivors need to get over themselves and accept that Killers are not going to play with them if they use things that are unbalanced.

D/Cs are punished and offer BP to the opposing side. Lobby dodging is sanctioned, unlimited, effortless, and onesided.
Killers need to understand that it works both ways. If they take issue with survivors d/cing after seeing a hidden offering or "unbalanced" add ons, then they're hypocrites for dodging survivors with what they "think are unbalanced". Players should be able to use the items they want-and have rightfully earned-without fear of anyone deciding "not to play with them".

Not a lot of killers play as the nurse because of difficulty of mastering her. So there should be fewer players and especially in the higher ranks. However I am not saying what you have experience so far is not true. I just find it hard to believe that most of time you are going up againt a nurse because I rarely find a match with the nurse.

Sorry to say but majority of killers at high rank ARE nurse's. If you were at high rank you would know that. It's common knowledge.

I am at a high rank. And maybe it is because you are referring to pc. I have not experience that on console.

It's not on PC either. I'd say 25-30%. It's a mix of Huntress, Billy, and Nurse. Maybe more diversity now with Clown?

  • And they'll simply get dodged if they don't.

One problem exists because of another. They shouldn't be addressed separately.

  • If you body block to the point where the only way to leave the game is to d/c, that's when it's reportable.

Ex: trapping a survivor in the corner indefinitely.
  • The build's not toxic. It's only toxic if you're using it just to annoy the absolute ######### out of the killer and get away with it.
And IMO, QnQ and Urban Evasion are more effective versus Nurse than chase perks are. Unless they're running Bloodhound, then you're kinda screwed.
  • You're so cheesey that you deserve the upvote.
  • Never heard of it.
There might be hidden mechanics, but I don't think anyone has any proof of that. I usually attempt every game for funsies, and I don't really see a difference IMO.
Also, it could be a self selection bias too. People are more likely to attempt escapes when there's no other possibility of survival.
  • Agitation doesn't help Doc increase Madness levels. He is automatically switched to Punishment mode when picking up a survivor, which does not have the passive static field.
However, the TR increase is horribly disorienting for the receiving end so I think it's an interesting feature.
  • I'd rather they remake it to be on par with other late game perks.

Then again, Sole Survivor is a more helpful and flexible perk and that's still bad.
