I'll quickly add my opinion right here, if the survivors work together, since this is a asymmetrical horror game. The killer should get 2 sacrifices/kills but if the survivors are uncoordinated then the killer should be able to get 4 sacrifices/kills since the survivors didn't work as a team.

But then shouldn't a highly coordinated team get 4 escapes?

If a coordinated team is projected to get 2 escapes, then the average would be 1 escape, 3 kills.

  • It's the end of the Mayan Calendar!

    We've been dead all along!

  • US, East coast.
    It explains my attitude. 😉
  • What is the problem? Killers can use it and already do it manually without any 3rd party program.
  • Syringe recycling program in DBD?

    I can get behind that.

  • In a horror game, I agree.
But then I wouldn't be able to check out my sexy cosmetics anymore, so I'm torn.
I think when crouching, survivors should transition to 3rd person, while walking and running becomes 1st person.

Boil Over is pointless as it stands. I can't even tell if it works against Rank 20 killers, and the fact that the debuff is instantly shown makes it impossible to catch anyone off guard.

I don't think they should reduce hooks, but they definitely need to look at hooks so close to each other that survivors can stare at each other on the hook.

You forgot my ninja suit. :(

Debuffs shouldn't be shown to the affected players anyway. Leave killers and survivors guessing if they are affected by a hostile perk.

I agree. There are enough notifiers as it is. I think it'd be fine if they all went away after Rank 15, except for NOED.

  • It's an exploit but no one is going to get banned for it.

  • What happens if the killer's lagswitching and d/cs the survivors?

  • Lmfao. SWF is cheating? The most closest thing that resembles cheating in this game is that killers get to prune exactly who they want to play against. Toxic survivor in the lineup? SWF? Flashlights? Too many toolboxes? Too many of a survivor character you don't like? Survivor with more playtime than you? Survivor you lost to last round? DLC character? Dodge and roll again!

You cannot gather data from games that do not happen. You cannot balance the game when some killers are allowed to and encouraged to self-select match-ups in their favor. You cannot make a player satisfied when they are self-entitled. Killers. Are. Spoiled.

Is getting 100% achievements really that big of a deal though? If he got into a locker and you didn't tombstone him you didn't actually earn the achievement. You also come off as a spoiled child in your conversation. The dude has no obligation to just let you kill him with a tombstone.

Spoiled child? Are you kidding me try going for a 4K tombstone myers achievement in rank 6 without Ruin i [BAD WORD] earned that ######### and i get a petty brat holding the game hostage because he thinks hes being cute/funny. I dont bust my ass off at work to come home and bust my ass even more while playing a game and have all that hard work ruined because of some scum.

You are the petty brat dude. You just want the guy to hand over himself so you can get an achievement. Why should he? You didn't earn it. Just hook the guy and try again until you get it. Don't beg and whine like you deserve something.

Bud he took advantage of a game mechanic, purposefully. That is taking the game hostage esp when it prevents the killer to do a task that was inclined to happen. 2 I DID EARN IT I SPENT 20 MIN IN THAT GAME FARMING THE TOMBSTONE WHICH THEN I HAD TO KILL ALL THE OTHER 3 SURVS AND THEN HAD TO PLAY WITH A KID UNTIL I FINALLY GOT THE TOMBSTONE ON HIM WHICH THEN HE DISCONNECTS BECAUSE HE KNEW MY INTENTION WAS FOR AN ACHIEVEMENT. NOW IM TYPING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE THEN MAYBE YOU CAN READ WHAT IM SAYING. AND IVE DONE THIS ATTEMPT 9 TIMES TO HAVE IT COME DOWN TO A PETTY KID HIDING IN A LOCKER OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

It's not taking the game hostage when you can still kill him by hook. You didn't earn it if you didn't kill all 4. Else you wouldn't be here complaining.

Not playing the game exactly how the killer wants = Taking the game hostage
    Didn't you know that?

Slugging is a ######### mechanic. Almost no one uses it to begin with, and will no longer need to with their new endgame mechanics.

Sabo is weak and was only mentioned to be buffed from 3m to 3m 30s. Sabo is going to remain weak.

Self care healing went up by 8s and that is significant.

Everyone who is complaining is overreacting.

Slugging is the only way to stop genrushing. Sometimes you simply dont have enough time to hook someone and I slugg regularly depending on the situation.
Slugging has nothing to do with the new endgame mechanics btw

You'll be excited to hear that they're giving you more options to prevent a gen rush then! 40s self care with Mangled? What a steal.

Slugging is not a ######### mechanic. It is almost the only mechanic that good killers use.

I don't like to be the doom guy but if they really nerf slugging and the slug meta ends, good killers will not play the game anymore. In their wake, other killers will protest too.

I said it's ######### because it's not fun. It's pointlessly tedious. I would be impressed if they somehow managed to make crawling fun.
There is no slug meta. Killers don't slug unless it's to prevent the hatch. If you watched the QA, you'll know that slugging for the hatch is no longer necessary.
I don't know what rank you play at, but there must be less than 1% of killers using a slug build at Rank 1.

    @Odacus You're overreacting.

They said the Saboteur is going to be changed so that it doesn't provide extra charges anymore, which effectively reduces the charges by 75%.

Hooks are not going to be dropping left and right. Read the changes carefully.

There is no buff for survivors, and even if there were, that does not matter if they are being severely nerfed to begin with. The world is not ending every time "buff" and "survivor" is mentioned in the same sentence.

Be happy survivors will be doing something other than stalking you with a flashlight because that's been nerfed to oblivion too.

Really? Survivors don´t stalk me anymore with the flashlight? Strange, i could have sworn that my last match had stalkers...

Then they're wasting time because flashlight saves are almost impossible versus any killer with more than two brain cells. Win-win for you!

I must encounter only brain dead killers then. I still manage to flashlight save.

    Try out for the Olympics.

What do you mean when saying that repair will be slower? I recall the Devs talking about keeping the times as they are since they don't really want to change that. Or maybe you mean indirectly slower since the healing speed will get a slight nerf?
They will be reducing the toolbox repair bonus. You know, what makes your repair bar yellow when you use any toolbox. They said it near the part about the three pillars.
  • You do realize they can do that right now, except 75% more often, right? And yet, Saboteur has still a niche and unviable strategy for the past year. There's nothing wrong with buffing it.
Actually they also reduced Toolbox repair speed bonuses too. Your disappointment is misplaced. Healing and repair are slower, Sabo is marginally more effective, and slugging is less obnoxious.
While most people would like to have more objectives, this change is overall good for killers. And it's ironic that they are the ones upset.

Well they take the same approach of chases taking to long by nerfing Bloodlust.
Makes sense on rank 15, not so much on rank 1. But since the devs play mainly on low ranks and think it´s best to balance around rank 20...

I honestly think it´s a terrible idea and that this will give survivors even more power than they already have.

Bloodlust was a bandaid for long landmark loops. They nerfed them. Why should they keep BL?

These perks, except Lithe and Sole Survivor, are in fact in need of buffs, I agree.

Sole survivor doesn't need a buff?

No, it does not, it already hinders several perks of a killer. If killer uses, for example, Deerstalker and NC, you can just heal in his TR. Using one perk, to trum killer's 2 perks is a quite good deal, don;t you think? Besides it has quite fun synergy with OoO.

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Sole_Survivor

Boi no one is used this right now. It needs a buff, or you prefer see in the matches only decisive strike, sprint burst, adrenaline etc

No one uses DwM, Lithe, UE and IW combo as well, and this is relly good perk build for stealthy/juking survivor. Trust me, some players won't use other perks than DS, SC, SB and BT/ something else, because they are used to this build

I use these all the time at Rank 1. 🤔 UE and IW are super popular, what game are you playing? And of course no one uses those four as a full combo, most people don't want to be gimped without SC or an exhaustion perk.
If it wasnt for me being a BP ######### with WGLF, I'd always have QnQ and DWM on my build.
Lithe is just ######### because chases are buggy to register, so you end up getting killed for your fast vault. Also it's useless as an exhaustion perk when you're being camped.
  • Don't even bother complaining. You can do literally nothing to stop killers from camping.
    * If you do gens quickly, as other players suggest, the killer camp harder because "the game is over anyway".
    * If you try to save the hooked survivor, the killer will camper hard and then accuse you of "hook diving" and "rewarding camping".
When a killer camps, just think of it as a game over. How you play will not change how the killer plays. It will change how fast you get to start a new game.
Do the gens, leave as soon as possible as to not waste your own time, and move onto a game where the killer wants to have fun.

Wraith's power is just as useless. 2s of slowed movement to get out of it is plenty enough for a survivor to SB away, and he's much easier to spot and predict. He's only better because he's a glorified 115% ms M1 killer.

Wraith uncloak has a mindgame/bait potential. He can bait out SB, stop uncloaking, catch up with his cloak speed and then uncloak. Similar things can be done with pallets.

I don't think it's a significant factor. Seasoned survivors will usually SB and wait by pallet loops anyway, where he is generally weak at. He's better with his faster cloak movement and passive Windstorm, but the 1s duration is not that good.
Spirit has way better pallet mind game potential with her skill, barring the long cooldown.
  • It should take more than just a teeny tap to end regression tbh. Like 2s on a gen minimum to begin repairs.
I dunno about the regression speed, but I agree, it's lower than expected. If they're not adding secondary objectives, they should consider speeding up regression. It shouldn't be too oppressive, since Deja Vu is pretty good right now.
  • RE: Activation time, it takes 4 seconds to enter the spirit world during which time you can't see the survivors, move, or do anything else. That's a huge deal.

Wraith's power is just as useless. 2s of slowed movement to get out of it is plenty enough for a survivor to SB away, and he's much easier to spot and predict. He's only better because he's a glorified 115% ms M1 killer.
  • Autodidact's probably the only survivor perk I like in particular, except the skill checks can be sparse so it's kind of risky. Deliverance is meh.

  • Not good enough. Just needs more of a lift.

Not USELESS. That wasn't part of the survey anyway!!

  • Rancor's not an aura. It's a doc-esque notification.

  • Well, I'll say this, we're now over 24 hours since she was released and all of the things people were dubious about yesterday at 2 hours they remain dubious about now at 26 hours. So I'm not sure how "knee jerk" a reaction it was. Again, some people sure made the usual "Killer sucks, garbage chapter" posts but they were actually a minority. Oh well. It is what it is.

It was knee-jerk at the time, for sure. Janick's comment was almost right after release.
I can tell they worked hard on the killer with the detailed animations and super intricate perks, and they want to make sure *everyone* likes her.
In the end, they can't change her until killers get good with her and survivors get good at countering her. Janick had a good point about needing analytics before anecdotes. But of course, he should've been less abrasive with the way he put it.
  • @RSB said:
I don't think so, Janick went with his rude comments, and rejected all negative feedback (reasonable feedback, I would say, made by experienced players). I just think they make underpowered killers, just to buff them in PTB, so the killers are happy, because they have been buffed (placebo), and survivors are happy, because the killer is mid-tier at best.

Unfortunately this. Janick was quite clear that they would only even consider changes to The Spirit based on "analytics". He was shockingly rude and dismissive for someone that I normally think comes off as very chill and cool on the stream. The unfortunate thing is, 2 hours released or not, most of the comments were well thought out and not at all rude or "OMG, she sucks". There were those, sure, but not all of them were. So killers were shown that "it doesn't matter how you present the feedback to us, we don't care". It's truly unfortunate.

Considering how much some people here *CONSTANTLY* rag on devs about knee jerk reactions, I'm not surprised that at least one of them got snippy in response to an obscenely obvious knee-jerk reaction.
Should they have responded in a nicer tone? Yes. But that's why they're not in PR or customer support, lmao.
And don't be surprised if the devs stop taking you guys seriously if you're just going to default to "Omg devs don't care about killers" when they're busting balls to make killer more viable.
There's a reason why so many game companies completely stop communicating with its player base.. This interaction with Janick is a little taste. Some of the player base can undoubtedly behave in condescending, unappreciative, and self-entitled ways and it takes training and fortitude to respond in the 'right' way.
  • Considering that we've already had cosmetics and stories that detailed bloodied and beaten men (see Dwight and David), and sexualized men (David), I'm not buying that this is new. I'm also digging the detailed imagery in the lore, that's how it should be for every killer.
Huntress is not a victim. And you're right, the fact that the majority of the female killers in the lore only act in violence when acted upon is sexist. It plays into the preconceived and sexist notion that women are wonderful and do no wrong unless driven to directly by a man. A woman doing something evil? Must be a man's fault.
But do we need another "bad childhood" back story like we do with over half of the male killers in the game? I don't think so.
  • @shadowsfall42 said:
Bloodlust needs to be buffed so you gain it faster. Theres no point nerfing it if they aren't gonna fix the long devastating loops, like cow tree, every big building and the shack.

You didn't read the patch notes?

Who needs to BL the shack? LOL

  • She's fast with her ability. She can see scratch marks and blood.

She's not bad but she's really hard to get used to and without the blood add ons and Predator, needs a lot of guesswork.

    Could use a buff.

  • Lunges are proportional to movement speed. This means that Hag and Spirit has the same lunge reach.

However, Spirit's weapon is visually somewhat large, and thus makes it easier to overestimate your reach. Conversely, Clown and Freddy's weapons look smaller despite having long lunges, which makes it easy to underestimate their reach.

  • Really expensive for one pebble. For comparison, you'd get 3 stacks of Stake Out in that time.
Sounds like a fun, but weak perk.
  • Master said:

That would be a "nerf" the BHVR balancing team could have designed.
Just like the recent DS "nerf" on the ptb

Is it nerfed in the ptb? I didn't see it in the patch notes
It's not. He's just salty they patched in refunds for swing and drop exploits.
  • The pallet perk was presented as an idea from someone from one of the message boards (Reddit or steam), almost verbatim. Maybe they got some inspiration from your spirit world idea, who knows. It's not exactly a complex power, though.
That idea has been floating around for a long time now. I've heard at least six different variations of it.
Same with the whole breaking totems activating effects.
  • No perk should be see over 25-30% usage rate. This includes Ruin, SC, BBQC, SB, etc.
It doesn't matter how balanced people think these perks are. Overused/meta = OP = stale game, and devs should adjust the game and/or perks directly.
