I hear from quite a few people that the grudge and the ring are the same movie, so wouldn't we just be getting like a duplicate killer?
Those people have clearly never watched one of the two, that is for damned sure. And beyond that, I know this is going to sound sarcastic... But the developers are certainly capable of making the same sort of killer function differently.

Tentacles are love, tentacles are life. Nemestepsis is an absolute unit. 🔥
-
No. That makes no sense when we have crossplay.
-
As long as it is not Autohaven or MacMillan on a day where I got nothing but Autohaven or MacMillan... I do not care.
-
I have no idea what ths thread is about. But I once had to do 7 generators to escape. No kap.
-
They can still hold items while holding the tape. They added that to the UI I suppose. Realistically they did more work on making the UI than developing anything new for the killer. Ha ha ha...
-
I love that as a newer player, I can complete old challenges and hoard them for new character releases.

It is now proven, DBD players all have a lower average IQ than your average person.
That sentence is a little redundant, Gyro.

It is her mean mug, cuh. If looks could kill and all that.

Maybe a nerf is in order. Let's hope we get one soon.

Sadako stealth is not stealth at all,you know she's coming from miles away.
To be fair, it is more stealthy than a standard killer? Ha ha ha...

Yeah, that's why I would like to buy the DLC. But I don't want to be forced to run her with subpar perks until after a long painful grind I finally manage to unlock the perks I actually want to use on her.
Oh, yeah, totally. I already have 5 million pre-grinded for her and I honestly am not sure that will be enough. It is kind of ridiculous.
-
If she needed nerfing, sure. However, I have a feeling that is not what needs to be done...
-
To play as Sadako... That is ideally why you would purchase her.

Who's Jo On?
It is basically The Grudge.

Kicking gens is not viable. Only do it if there is nothing else to do and you highly suspect nobody is around. Like if you drop chase with someone and return to the gen where you started chase to see if someone else picked it up and the progress is the same.

I love all J-Horror, but with Rin and now Sadako, think that niche in DBD may not have much more room.
Why not? We have lots and lots of slashers. That niche seems to have plenty of room.

Here's the thing. It can work. I've seen enough streamers do it to know that it can in fact be done.
However... no slowdown means 2 things. First, you're probably going to need to do a lot of slugging to make it work. Second, you'll almost always either win big or lose big because you haven't got any sort of safety net. Either you get downs fast enough to slow the Survivor's progress to a crawl and win or you don't and lose terribly with no middle ground.
So... for me personally... I'm gonna... not do that... usually. The closest I've ever gotten to that is running Plague with Corrupt, Infectious, Tinkerer, and Fire Up because the Bloodweb was incredibly unkind to me. Killer is stressful enough as it is... I don't need to bring a build that makes it worse.
Corrupt is lowkey one of the best slowdown perks in the game, though.

100% agree with this. There have been several times an early assumption about a killer has been completely overturned; the Blight was one of those who initially was said to be "weak" by some. One day is a poor basis for judgement.
The difference is that Blight works entirely different from any other killer. The only hypothetical way for Sadako's early impressions to be wrong is if the condemned mechanic was actually consistently killing people. But given the power is a tool for the survivor to manage, like???
Sometimes early assumptions are just going to be the way it is. Not everything is so nuanced that we need weeks to understand something we have already had years to understand...

Both are true.

I think it's because Sadako have a monstrous map presence that no other killer has, she can teleport instantly from one side to another, almost consecutively. Her chase potential is the worst, but she can spread the chaos if the player manages to have good use of the tps, combined with a hit and run style. I think she can be a pain to play against similar to Twins.
There's the condemned feature too, that can kill the survivor without even being hooked.
The Condemned feature is definitely unique. I suppose you could technically do it with Pig, but you have to more or less exploit the game (or pray to RNGesus) to pull it off whereas this is a bit more natural.
-
You do not need slowdown if you play Bubba. Otherwise, I mean, it couldn't hurt, really.

@Carth said:
The game came out in 2016 and has had almost zero major updates to its core gameplay loop in that time You are either a 110/115% killer with either a bad/meme tier power or very heavy zoning/anti-loop potential. Sadako is a killer who is an all or nothing (literally get 7 stacks of her debuff and kill the survivor or it doesn't matter at all) who has TONS of counter play in that regard(popping out of a tv is only +1 , there is no natural gain over time unless you choose to grab a video tape and NOT go solve). Solving is a -4 to the counter. Explain to me how the math works where you can reliably make use of her power against anyone who has a brain and knows what she is about. If we remove her tv shenanigans she is literally a worse wraith+Fredddy.
Edit: They had SUCH good ideas with pinhead and debuffs, I don't understand why they didn't do something like nix the mori completely and make status effects happen per level so that sadako can get value out of her power the entire game + punish survivors who choose to not get rid of her debuff. Instead of that we got "hey you should really only be concerned when you are at 4+ stacks and then go solve".
If people did simple math, they wouldn't be so confused as to why people call the game survivor sided. It would be pretty obvious to them if they had.
-
I do not think toxic survivors care that they are the way they are. I personally notice when a killer lets me go as they could have otherwise killed me. I mean, it is kind of obvious, but I do not have that survivor main entitlement, I suppose. It helps you see things clearly.
-
Do we know that? Is it confirmed, or? Because I never thought we would get the kid aged up as our survivor. The costume could totally be the Grudge instead. Who knows?

she can open lockers, break pallets, and damage gens while not manifested.
Can she snuff boon totems? I believe Wraith has to uncloak for that even though he can kicky feet things while invisible.

I think the hook grab on healthy survivors needs to go. Cannibal may well see a nerf but not as sure about that.
Well, if they nerf him, I am probably gone. He is the only killer I can tolerate against good survivors. Do not get me wrong, I can play any killer against average survivors, but just knowing that I would need to learn Nurse or Blight to have a chance? Nah. Screw that. They can enjoy their dimishing playerbase if they actually decide go cater to those clowns.

Like I said we should give it a few days. It’s only day one.
Maybe by day 2 her power will change. I bet the survivors will forget how to loop an m1 killer by day 3. And by day 4, we will discover a secret tech that lets you teleport through TV that have been powered off.
I agree, let's wait and see.

I feel like for people who genuinely want to get away from the killer, Parental Guidance is a must have. It pairs so well with DS, Smash Hit or Head On and I'm assuming even off of something like Blast Mine (Needs testing)?
Even off of plain pallet stuns this will be super useful, don't even need Smash Hit imo but it definitely helps. I think people are sleeping on this perk tbh
It is kind of insane. If it is not DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, or BT, it is garbage in the eyes of the survivor mains.
-
From what I heard, old Freddy was a complete noob stomper. So I guess this is supposed to let up on them a bit relative to him? Oh, but we need to wait and see because this killer is so complicated that talking about her day 1 is forbidden.

Probably the same exact amount.

Oh no, I am so scared. Please help me, NOT stretched res! Anything but that!

No way to tell...
It was busted against Ghostface.
Yeah, bro. Absolutely. Really logical.
-
I mean, she is an m1 killer who can teleport. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how she plays into this.
If there were like something new that we didn't understand, sure. But everything is recycled.

why do people complain about boons and s.h? they're literally cool new mechanics "were gonna get boons and s.h every patch" abit like how we got exhaustion perks and hex perks every patch pretty much since 2016
2% haste is a cool new mechanic? Bruh?

Everyone complains about mmr, balance, or the grind, but I believe the real issue is the lack of cake. Only Jane has impressed me.

That Parental Guidance seems like it will be really strong. You basically have to eat pallet stuns a lot against good survivors or they'll get extra loops if you respect it. Easy to lose someone this way breaking a jungle gym pallet for example
I pray to the Buddha survivors stay as they are. That perk makes my stomach lurch and I am very happy to see your average survivor overlooking it at the moment. Like, what the actual?

Believe it or not, Hag. Yes, I was born a face camper. They told me placing traps all around the hook was inefficient... I was climbing through the ranks before I even knew up from down with my insane skill. I didn't even realize she was slow or that her camera was short as heck.
Anyways, I do not play her anymore at all and abandoned her the second I bought a licensed killer.

There’s a challenge (Which unlocks a story) in the current tome to down 3 exposed survivors while using the Make Your Choice perk in one trial and NOED is one of the easiest ways to do that unless you have Make Your Choice on Myers or something.
There’s also a stun or blind the killer 3 times in one trial challenge which also unlocks part of a story so they’ll likely be more flashlights in matches too.
Yeah, I just used Myers for that. But my sister doesn't own him or Ghostface, so she had to use the NOED method. She tried with Haunted Grounds and Dragon Grip as well, but survivors were just jumping into lockers or unhooking before she could leave. It came down to forcing NOED, purposely walking someone away from the gate and downing them again. They were teabagging as though she didn't have to try her best to keep them alive long enough for NOED to come into play. Rofl.

Apology accepted. Hopefully they get better in the future because they are failing at this simple task. Fortunately I am a patient man.

The game design is blatantly survivor sided, that is really obvious if you do a bit of simple math. HOWEVER, survivors are so bad that I actually tend to agree that the game is, pragmatically, killer sided.
I believe that is why this debate exists even though both sides are 100% accurate. It depends on your perspective.
-
I am super excited. If all goes well, this will be the first chapter I purchase. I usually just buy the killer for 500 auric cells. I am very scared at the same time, I want it to be crazy, but I just do not trust Behavior to make a good killer. Nemesis is the only one that was strong, in my opinion, for the last year.
I also feel survivor perks have been pretty meh recently, and some licensed survivors look a bit busted. Hope Reiko or Ryuji look dapper.
All in all, I actually have no clue how they will make Sadako work. Like, literally no idea whatsoever. That makes the experience more fun as it is difficult to speculate.

I hate flashlight users, if that counts.

Look, I could have done better. I made a bunch of mistakes in this game that I wish I could take back. Not using stealth to go for the save on Nancy. Crashing into a box before I got grabbed. But I did the best I could in this game just to basically die on first hook. Ended up with the most points too.

This was a horrible game lmao. Crappy teammates is all I get unless I am playing with friends even without comms
I would offer to help, but realistically, those people were probably better than I am at survivor. You do not even want to know the horrible, terrible things I have done to teammates.
