Sacrificing one-thousand Survivors is, for many folk, a task that requires a resilient and addicted player or a sociopath with no communications outside of a game. I'm glad that number is diminishing. Also, not a great data source you picked.

What teamwork? You can't work together if you can't communicate. All you can do is throw the trial tripping over each other, or leave someone to die unfairly.
Edit: Seriously, you're trying to claim that totem hunting makes me dumb?
If you can't easily cleanse a totem, or in this instance, deal with NOED directly... I'm sorry for you. It is an almost useless perk with no proper application or augment to a Killer, yet you can't exploit that? Shame... it isn't that difficult, even on solo queues...

Ah yes, the 'free kill' BS. The scream of lazy Survivor mains the game over.
The Killer kept at least one totem alive until end game.
The Killer then find someone.
The Killer then chased them.
The Killer then hit them.
But it's a 'free kill'. 😂
I forgot that NoED apparently magically down a Survivor and teleports them onto a hook. 'Free kill', rofl. 😂😂😂
That's one of the lamest excuses Survivors use, up there with 'The Killer already lost! 😥' as if they can dictate that the game ends when 5 gens pop, not when the gates open.
The bottom line is that only bad Survivors whine about NoED. The ones who want to sit on gens for 5 minutes and speedrun the match. The ones who run the full meta while in a SWF sweat squad and then screech like parrots when NoED procs because they refuse to do totems. The lazy ones who see a totem 3 feet away, but bang out the gen instead, then get chased away by the Killer.
But, of course, that's not THEM being lazy; it's NoED being 'OP', or 'Unfun', or whatever buzzword excuse they invent this week to dodge blame.
This, right here, is exactly the point. You can go against any perk with any character, and at the end of the day, it is solely dependant on your playstyle and if or when you choose to accurately counter said perks. Almost no perk in this game is 'OP' simply on its own, and NOED is no exception -- hell, it backfires more than it does provide for you -- yet the arguments prevail. Just indicative of the toxic complaint culture of this community if I'm being entirely honest...

*Baits someone into coming back to a Dragon's Grip'd gen ONE TIME in a match using Insidious.*
"Insidious Bubba tunnelbasementcamper. GGEZ baby Killer."
"... I'm playing Trickster."
Yep. And that's the thing, people will complain about anything that they can't muster the strength and/or tactics to overcome or learn to counter. NOED is exceedingly easy to counter, yet people insist on whining and screaming at their screens and in these threads instead of learning to either...
A: (Counter perks with relative ease by practicing against them, time and time again)
B: (Getting over the fact that this game is a 'You win some you lose some' type of game and that loss is both an inevitable aspect of it and something that doesn't necessarily mean defeat)
Or
C: (Shut up and continue playing regardless).
But who I am kidding? Just playing a game for fun is far too complex a task for most internet dwellers on these forums...

Thats how I feel about totem perks and honestly totems are always right there, I have spawned right in front of ruin or devour hope too many times to count and it came to the point where you kinda need undying to get any value from totem perks. When I played killer I thought the same way as you its a waste of a slot because 80% of the time they are cleansed at the get go lol
Indeed. I guess I'm just lucky that I typically run Doctor, and so I don't have to depend on Hexes as, well, say the Blight would (who I do not play for that very reason). There are some Killers who absolutely rely on at least a single hex perk to function in the way that they're intended to (like Hag), and it's really a low-blow given that hexes have such a myriad of problems on their horizon... that's not to say that you HAVE to run hexes on the Blight or Hag, or likewise Killers, but it is certainly how you are MEANT to play them... this all comes down to BHVR's inability to hear the community, anyway.

THE TWINS REWORK SUGGESTION:
POWER UPGRADE
A Pair Of Conjoined Twins That Can Separate In Two Parts.
CHARLOTTE'S HATRED
Ever Since They Were Hunted, Charlotte Hated Humanity. So In The Entity's Realm
She wants to show who SHOULD be hunted.
Charlotte Will Be Able To Use Her Weapon And Strike Twice At A Survivor.
When This Action Is Performed, The Survivor Is In The Dying State.
Charlotte's Hatred Ability Will Be On Cooldown For 45 Seconds.
Use The Opposite Button Than Unbind Victor, To Use Charlotte's Hatred.
Victor's Undead Return
Victor Relied On Charlotte For Most Of His Life, But Then Sacrificing Himself For Them To
Escape The Temple, They Were Experimented On In.
Victor Can Separate From Charlotte, With No Terror Radius.
Victor Can Pounce On Survivors And Injure Them, He Will Latch On.
But, With A New Addon Called Charlotte's Sickle, He Can Injure The Survive The, Jump Right Off Of Them.
If You Place Victor Someone, There Will Be A Button Where You Can Call Victor, And He Will Come Back To You.
You Can Still Control Victor By Pressing A Different Button.
Sibling Teamwork (SPECIAL ABLILITY)
It Was About Time That Charlotte Could Have Victor Help Her.
Press The Button To Release Victor, but this time, instead of Charlotte going to sleep, she will roam the map hunting survivors with a controlled AI, meanwhile you control Victor. This ability persists for 40 Seconds.
NEW TWINS ADDONS:
- Charlotte's Sickle (Very Rare)
- Mother's Blanket (Ultra Rare)
- Marseille Newspaper (Rare)
WHAT THESE NEW ADDONS WOULD DO:
Charlotte's sickle:
When Victor pounces on a survivor, instead of latching on, he will let go. Survivors will also be inflicted with the incapacitated status effect for 20 seconds, without victor latched on.
Mother's Blanket:
When Charlotte Is Roaming Around When Your Controlling Victor, All survivors will be inflicted with the exposed status effect for the duration of Sibling Teamwork Ability. Charlotte will also know where all the survivors are. You will see the auras of all survivors as victor, but switching back to charlotte will disable this addon.
Marseille newspaper:
WHEN CONTROLLING VICTOR, ALL SURVIVORS SUFFER FROM THE EXHAUSTED STATUS EFFECT FOR THE DURATION OF CONTROLLING VICTOR. HOWEVER, YOU WILL ONLY HAVE 30 SECONDS TO CONTROL VICTOR, BEFORE HE GETS DESTROYED.
Thanks For Reading, This Took A While To Write. Lol.
Why are you writing in fully capitalised sentences?

Exactamundo. Totems are, by far and wide, the most easy-to-counter aspect of Dead by Daylight to date. Partly (or possibly even majority of) the reason why I don't run Hex perks -- they're just so pointless when all it takes is a 10-20 second cleansing period. Sure, I'd love to be able to run Devour Hope on a Killer or play NOED for reasons other than to camp and kill Survivors last minute, but my God there is no legitimate circumstance where running a Hex is permissible. I'd argue that hexes are the flimsiest flaw in this game at this current time, and the more and more I see people complaining about this one and this other one... it just convinces me that this community will argue about anything. What's next? Insidious is OP somehow?

I agreed with you until you said that there are times you need to tunnel and camp. There is never a reason to tunnel or camp unless you are just that bad at killer that you need to in order to get one kill or you are intentionally trying to piss players off and ruin their day.
I'd say tunnelling is permissible by my standards if you need to secure a kill in the endgame for a challenge or something... at the end of the day, it's not anybody's job to be a salty and/or toxic loudmouth at the end of a game simply because they were killed or were outsmarted and outwitted by a team of swfs... I just cut my losses and move on. If I'm not playing Doctor, I'm usually pretty bad, but I just take it in and have as much fun as I can. Ultimately, that's the aim of the game for everyone. All of this 'professional' and 'competitive' talk from half of the playerbase is honestly faux and just a veneer for a fractured ego. If you want to be competitive, you have to be sportsmanlike. And that means not being a total killjoy afterwards just because a Killer was good or bad or a Survivor was the same... That's the end of the story.
P.S: Also, yeah, I edited this because I accidentally spelled 'tunnelling' in the American 'tunneling'... Aussie here :D
-
@MadLordJack said:
You're job is to kill everyone. Not one person, not three people, everyone. Tunneling only really helps in trials you could have won anyway, and camping is only useful in very sweaty trials.

It is probably better to just learn how to ignore them without tools such as blocked communication. It is literally the same thing, you don't feed them, but the major difference is you actively need to see it and that allows you to chip away the negative response you feel bit by bit until you are so used to it that you genuinely do not care.
That is what I did, at least, and it definitely gave me thiccer skin. Which admittedly I needed coming into this game as a new player. I was really shocked to see my greeting. You would think for 5 year old paid game, the playerbase would be slightly more concerned about player retention. I digress, just imagine them teabagging and flash light clicking irl, would you be angry? Nah, you would definitely laugh. So do that in game too, the clowns are there for YOUR entertainment, after all. Might as well embrace it!
I say this mainly out of spite for the people responsible for my distaste in the previous comment, but, toxicity is just so prevalent in Survivors. Entitlement is almost innate to half of today's Survivor mains. Now, those 'people responsible' were a bunch of sfws who full-on exploited the fact that I need to run cross-play to land a match, as I play on Xbox in Australia (I legitimately cannot find a match otherwise). Given the state of console at the moment, I was running into freeze frames almost every second, lagging consistently, and I could hardly even see the game while playing Huntress for the first time -- who I've held off on playing for many years now simply due to the fact that I never fancied a hatchet-throwing hunter. Yet, I tried, and despite persevering and somehow landing about seven hatchets and two hooks in that match, even given the fact that I genuinely couldn't see, I was treated to a hate fest afterwards as message after message came through with kids misspelling the words 'worst' and 'killer'... Yeah. I was called the 'worst killer' by a bunch of kids who were nearly obliterated by me even while I was suffering through unforgivable spikes of lag and freezing... and that's my problem.
Some survivors are just embodiments of the intrinsic toxicity in this hateful-as community... and when you get a full-on entitled one, it just ruins your day... it's a game. Why can't people see that? But yeah, this has been more of a rant and I see your points. My apologies for this reply... just got to vent sometimes, I guess. I'm usually a ton more formal, but... desperate times call for desperate measures? I don't know... thanks for your input :)

I'm on console and gone up against crossplay users. Literally had survivors use the Xbox app just to say some things. No matter what you do you will get told something. Just play the game the way you want. It not hacking or exploits then you're fine.
I wish it were that simple for me... I have this issue with my anxiety which I think was to play the other day -- in that horrible situation I responded to @ThiccBudhha with -- where I feel I just get overly disappointed when I'm genuinely enjoying something and then something just goes out of its way to spoil that enjoyment for me... in this case, it's the toxic team I encountered. But yeah, you can't avoid the inevitable. At the end of the day, who cares? If you're not competitive, play as you like.

This idea is great the more I think about it
What do you mean? That just destroys any skill capita and reinforces the fact this is a vicious circle of 'They're toxic'... it's not 'great' at all...
-
On the other hand, I've just had the worst experience lately with toxic survivors. Body-blocking, spamming flashlights, keys and all... yet some others would call all those 'not toxic'. Let's admit it, no matter what us killers do, we're toxic. I've never tunnelled a Survivor unless I absolutely had to in order to secure at least one kill, and I don't camp at all. And yet, some beyond-entitled Survivors have the audacity to attempt to 'bully' me and just go out of their way to make me miserable (this is on Xbox, so primarily through aftergame messages), simply out of their own inability to play against me and a hook... so much so that I've considered disabling outside chats from here on out...
Oh yeah. Not to mention unarguably toxic builds which render me almost helpless to the aforementioned 'required' tunnel or two...

I didn't have any knowledge about the backrooms previous to this thread, after reading them I suppose I can imagine it as a unique kind of horror in a literary sense or even in a Stephen King-like film, but in Dead By Daylight it seems like a very, very, odd choice...
Also indoor maps have a bad reputation amongst most of the community for their gameplay (which is pretty ironic- since I distinctly remember a time when the community begged to have their first creepy indoor maps added to the game like the classic decrepit hospital or abandoned warehouse or an eerie mansion).
This seems like it'd be the most indoor of all indoor maps with very little hope for a rework without sacrificing the aesthetic aspects of the map. Tight- identical rooms one after the other just incessantly repeating amongst themselves would probably be filled with some of the worst and best kinds of pallets- useless ones that might be in the center of the rooms and super powerful ones that exist along the doorways themselves. There'd also be very few if any sightlines across the map itself and you'd likely suffer from the problem of a killer being stuck with an area of interest right next to them like a generator about to be completed but they need to go all the way around a super long wall or other obstacle to get to where they want to.
So not sure, very on the fence about this one. But there's no poll option available for "on the fence" / "maybe" / "unsure".
I did try to tend to that view in my head while concepting, but that's why I poked at their being some sort of revision of the core idea of the Backrooms. It's true that for some time enclosed maps have had a foul reputation for being 'survivor-tailored' or near impossible for most killers to traverse while keeping tabs on the map, but that's where we can shuffle it up a little. The Backrooms aren't necessarily the same rooms repeated in an endless cycle, but similarly shaped ones which are interconnected through doorways, arches, and sometimes long hallways. In these hallways we can introduce all manner of things, from differently shaped rooms to even wider arches with wider rooms. I get it though... poor idea for the game haha
-
As a new console player and a new Doctor main, no. He's only a good and strategic killer when you know how to use his powers in conjunction to one another, and adding ANY cooldown to Shock Therapy would completely destroy every current manner of learning this. An absolute no from me. We need to buff most killers, not weaken them...

Not only this, but wait times are horrible across the board. I've recently started the game on Xbox, and sitting at Rank 20, I'm unable to even find a match. I've already made a post in regards to this, but this problem has been looming over BHVR'S heads for years now and, more recently, is becoming an absolutely unavoidable agony of playing Dead by Daylight in countries such as Australia (where I reside). I spent two whole hours today searching for a game, and found nothing. Granted that was with cross-play off, but even then, I should be able to find a match within that time. Even with cross-play off I've found nothing (although I've only waited 45 minutes with it on). This is atrocious. I've restarted I don't know how many times, waited some five hours collectively now... and to no avail. If BHVR fails to neglect this again, then their last straw will be drawn. They are legitimately on their last leg here... and it is ridiculous that we even have to ask for these seemingly fundamental aspects of the game to be addressed... far out, functioning matchmaking means I can actually get into the game... I shouldn't be sitting here waiting, and not getting anything for it! Pathetic... just... pathetic.

"And nah. I've had the unready button there every time. It's just absolutely ludicrous wait times"
I mean, it is probably because not many players are in grey Ranks (maybe you will have more luck in a few days when Rank Reset hit on the 13th), but having the Unready-Button must not mean anything. Sometimes the games looks like it is searching for a match but is exactly doing nothing.
This happens very rarely, but it happens.
But again, most likely it is indeed long wait times due to not many players in your Rank.
Which makes my point about implementing bots after such long wait times all the more reasoned. We shouldn't have this happen... and I'm not the only one. I'm just glad that I've at least had some amount of experience in the game elsewhere before... it's otherwise unplayable for newcomers

No worries, it's unfortunate that grey rank queue times are so abysmal (so you may have to up it to half an hour until you're in yellows or something) so if you can swf with a higher level teammate, even if you get crushed every game you should end up with much quicker queue times.
I hope you get your issue sorted soon :)

Without a doubt Blight, although Hag comes in quite close to the title of "third best" killer. Blight is almost OP in the right hands. Not incredibly unfair and unmatchable, but close to it in certain cases. I'd also argue that Oni can be quite menacing when used correctly.

Yeah but that's just it. I don't reckon it is licensed - there's usually some colossal hint as the license and/or its holder in the trailers; a kind of pre-hand giveaway with most killers (i.e Freddy and Myers). However, and despite last chapter literally being Silent Hill, I'd like a licensed killer nonetheless.

People can't know everything, especially if we are talking about mythology of different counties and ESPECIALLY if we are talking about japanese mythology which I personally find pretty complicated and messed up.
Anyway, I'm not asking "why" does he have a third eye, I know that is part of "Oni" character. I was asking why the hell is that obviously wooden thing moving on its own.
It's not "wooden", and it is certainly wrongful to assume different beliefs "mythology" simply on the basis of other more prominent faiths. You SHOULD know that it isn't correct to label different cultures and their faiths as myths. But the purpose of the third eye is to see those things aforementioned, so it moves on its own to see those things...

In Japan, it has been highly believed that the Oni is a demon with the power of the "third eye". There's nothing much more to it, besides that Onis can see into the hearts of their enemies, sense the blood of the weak, etc...
It's honestly a little saddening people of the current generation don't know about things as simple as this... as it is when people refer to different beliefs as "mythology"...
But there you go. It's a cultural application.
