first of all... why I think the new killer is gonna be licensed (again)? Because its a one killer but no survivor and no map, it wouldnt make sense to do a original chapter but only killer, so my guess it is that we are gonna recieve a license one.
Now... Why a Jason one? Why not Pinhead? or why not chucky?
- He is one of the most iconic and expensive licenses because of the lawsuit, so they would just get Jason but expensive af.
- I remember one day on Morf's stream I asked if it is possible to get Jason, and @Peanits answered: "Nothing its impossible" and thats the thing, they never say a straight up NO (like they did with the jeepers creepers license)
- Why not chucky? because he doesnt really fits in Dead By Daylight, I mean, they did a new skelleton for The Demogorgon, but he fits in the game lorewise and gameplaywise, and I think chucky desierves a own game
- Why not Pinhead?: Lets be real, Pinhead is not THAT iconic like how is jason (maybe because the 166362 films that he has) Also, Pinhead doesnt really chase, h just use cenobites, a lot... so how they are gonna manage to do a lot of controlable characters on only one killer? I dont think they would, Im not saying they will never add Pinhead, but i feel like Jason will be first.
Friday the 13th The game:
- Friday the 13th the game doesnt own all jasons in the series, there is the reboot and the Freddy Vs. Jason version (Which surprisley its the same producers (Platinum Dunes) who did A Nightmare On Elm Street 2010 reboot (the license that we got in the game).
- That game is dead, no more updates, so Dead By Daylight might buy the license.
So if we really get Jason... what version should be get?
- I really think the 2009 version its gonna be the indicated for the game, it fits perfectly and he would bring skins (The Sackhead)
And finally... the thing everyone is gonna say; "the Trapper is Jason".
- yeah and Hillbilly is Leatherface and we have both, same with legion and Ghostface, and the same could happen with the clown and Pennywise or Wraith and predator, So thats not really a problem, Im gonna leave a power idea that would really fit Jason from the 2009 movie.
Jason Power Idea:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/86990/chapter-14th-jason-idea#latest
If you have something to say... pls leave it on the comments and be respectful:)
I like that idea. However, Voorhees is so heavily licensed that it may very well be practically impossible to implement. Regardless, I support your claims. This is a good idea.
But I also feel like Pennywise and other killers like Jack Torrance could do well also. For instance, I had an idea that Pennywise could have a balloon ability where he could be suspended into the air for a certain time period of about, let's say, 10 seconds, and could scout out the area and easily see survivour's locations, with his ability having a reasonable cooldown. God, he could attack with basically anything judging on his shapeshifting abilities! Fear could be a perk he could use as well.
But see that there, what I just brainstormed, is, and always will be, just a theory. Cause DEVs and game companies work in mysterious ways. We don't know what's coming... could be anything! We'll just wait and see.
And also, with the Sackhead Jason skin idea, we could also have Jason X? That'd be sick.

Appreciate that you've gone through the effort to actually summarise your feelings as I know this is quite a re-hashed issue. Apologies if I come across a bit strong, I've not actually had the ability to discuss this issue as I'm still new to the forum.
The use of skills such as "Identification & Recognition, Map & Gen Pressure, Additional Objectives Creation, Fast Chases, Mind Games, Counter-Looping, and finally Survivor Pathing & Rotation." These are skills that are required at top ranks, irrelevant of SWF and should be something you strive toward if you play the game on a vaguely competitive level (or if you're simply trying to be the best that you can be, which is how I try to play). With regards to: map & gen pressure, fast chases, mind gaming/counter-looping and survivor pathing & rotation, these are all things that are mostly outside of your control at top tier play.
Map/gen pressure is something that SWF subverts with relative ease, as pressure ceases to exist when you know what the killer is doing. A lot of pressure killers have in the game is through uncertainty, and even top tier killers cannot literally be on three gens at once. A good SWF team will have whoever is in a chase be sure to loop -away- from any active gens, further reducing your ability to apply pressure. Which leads me to:
Fast chases and mind-gaming/counter looping. These tend to end up being a coin flip on unsafe loops, and impossible on safe loops. My favourite thing to do sometimes as a killer when I've eliminated a survivor from the match is to focus down the guy with the most loop ability, just to see how long it would physically take to down them without leaving the chase. Some chases can last a -long- time. The solution? Drop the chase and revert to map/gen pressure. Only with SWF, the looper can now feed this information of "killer pathing" to make anyone in imminent danger leave the gen prior a terror radius even being detected.
Survivor Pathing & Rotation is certainly helpful but is a base skill that doesn't actually contribute all that much more to SWF than solo. I can identify those using mics and coordinating, and that definitely affects how I predict survivor movements. But that doesn't actually guarantee anything, it just means I make less mistakes and survivors are doing things more in line with my expectations.
With regards to additional objective creation; I don't know what you're really saying by this. Outside of picking a killer that has this as part of their base kits (Pig traps, Freddy sleep objects etc) and aside from hexes, which are their own gamble, one cannot create additional objectives.
Also to clarify, when you say "Few killers in this game can deal with Hardcore SWF group" do you mean killer characters or players? Got a tad confused there.
At the end of the day, at the top end of the game, a killer is stuck punishing survivor misplays in order to win. You can force a survivor to misplay with mind-games, good map pressure, intimidation and other methods. SWF has the added layer of strength in that it can help to forgive any survivor missteps or bad plays. And this is on-top of all the other benefits that come from it.
I honestly stand by the fact that we just need to bring solo play to the same level, by incorporating certain perks as base kit and to off-set the redundancy of these perks in an SWF environment. Kindred, bond, better together. Shoe-horn things like that into a solo's base power and then we can give killers the appropriate tools to combat these things.
SWF isn't a problem for me anymore. I even enjoy the challenge. But I will be stomped at a much higher frequency, and be forced to enjoy the game less than if I were playing against solo survivors. With that in mind, I have zero blame for anyone who dodges SWF lobbies. We come here to have fun, and it's taken me hundreds of hours to get any enjoyment out of facing SWFs. If you can only play 2 hours a week, dodge away. I'm just sorry that they're trying to change the lobby system so you can't even predict SWF prior to the start of the match.
Couldn't agree any more.

According to the official line dropped by one of the dev streams, Legion was buffed rather than nerfed. My best guess from that? It'll be a long time. Keep those fingers crossed!
They were buffed rather than nerfed? Hell, if that's what you call a buff, then God help us. Legion is so unplayable right now its not even remotely funny. I wanna play em' so bad, but it's just so far from reality to even consider at the moment.
They need to pay urgent attention and rework Legion quick smart. Otherwise we just aren't gonna use em anymore...

you get 300 auric cells and 7000 shards from just the tutorial and 100 auric cells for every 7 day streak you login, how is that harder to unlock?
You don't get 100 auric cells from every 7-day login streak. You get one login streak and that's it. Check your facts next time mate.

Hey can you read?

I understand what you mean. When I made this post, it was in that state. And yes, I do understand what beta means, otherwise I wouldn't have even acknowledged it.
Besides, didn't my reply consult that issue that you found in my first? C'mon, don't get stuck in the past here. Just get over it. I complained. Just stop holding a grudge or whatever you're doing.
Lmao

it's in beta like u said....cut them sum slack.
It was only because they weren't even considering bug fixes and I was concerned with android - now I don't even care about android BETA and I'm more worried about the iOS version.
However, I've given it some thought and the port is rather addictive if you excuse the long wait times and stuff like that. So, no... no slack. XD

Mobile version of this game was a bad idea imo, sure you can play it wherever you want but auric cell prices are more expensive along with characters being harder to unlock. I dont like this version but if people wanna play it, go ahead I'm not stopping you
I 50/50 agree with you lmao. Game is broken but kinda fun idk

While beta isn't a shield to deflect all criticism, any problems you experience with an unfinished product should be taken with a grain of salt.
In the end, if you don't like it, don't beta test it.
If your comment was intended to be that broad, then ok.
Beta testing wasn't an option for my iOS device - as I said just a few minutes ago (regardless if I only just said that or not) and was only available on my android device.
I am a beta tester only on android and I am not complaining about how it runs on android, only (as far as I'm concerned) "FULL ACCESS" iOS, which I don't know if that's correct or not.
In a nutshell, I'm not complaining about BETA at all.

The mobile port is in private beta for a reason. The port has some problems and they're tweaking and fixing them.
This is also the reason why finding a match takes so long. There simply isn't much players currently since only some people got access to it.
Actually, you're wrong and right. I have private beta access on my android device but my iOS device is just available for download. So no, it doesn't excuse the player base. It was just never announced on any grand scale so nobody knows about it.
Besides, I given the pathetic timing some doubt and just played the game for what it is - and besides the useless quality, glitches and broken frames - it's actually quite fun. But of course, that's because it's a mobile port. Can't expect the world from it.

@Regularguy2nd Are you responding to me?
Don’t take this the wrong way: why are you so sure you’ve got the answer here? Speculations are just speculations.
I’m interested in two things basically: (1) is it intended design, and (2) does it mess with the progress i.e. which progress meter is the dominant one?
Agreed. Speculations are just speculations.

It's pretty lame that you don't even start with 4 survivors so each one in a team can be different. Why do you have to pay for Jake?
Yeah. I feel you. Jake should be a starter, no doubt, like #########?

Correct.

Cells you pay for, IIRC its $5 for 500. And shards in my limited time playing are easy to acquire.
@StrainedSky cheers for that. But, I have had experiences on the mobile port... I can never find a match, especially with killers, making it near impossible to grind any sort of amount of shards out...
-
-
Are cells and shards easy to grind?
-
M&A should lock on/down them and it should work. That's how it's been, at least. Maybe a bug...
-
Well I'd agree with you Kyle, but I'm unsure... while I'm here, when do y'all reckon Ghostface will be released for mobile port on Android BETA? Probably on full launch?
