Only if you are a tournament level killer will you play tournament level survivors. If it works correctly you should be matched with people that are equally skilled as you
'If it works correctly'
Exactly. Got such a great track record, BHVR have.
That was sarcastic.

Blight is arguably my best Killer. It sounds like you need to get used to the learning curve, is all. It doesn't take long. And, may I add, the only time 'walls don't register as walls' are under very specific circumstances, i.e: when you go for a scout lethal and you hit a large rock or the side of Killer shack yet you don't clip with it. It's very rare, and most of the times is because of poor timing. On that very rare occasion, yes, it is an in-game issue, but this post is more so a rant about your skill as opposed to anything else. Blight could easily be S-Tier with the right add-ons.
-
I usually one-hit a Survivor on hook if they were being a toxic #########. Say, spam-crouching at gates after sabotaging hooks all game, every time I went for one, just to be a pain, and then I catch them off guard with NOED (if I have it; I usually run it whenever I'm convinced I'll have a toxic Survivor). Otherwise, I well... I don't hit on hooks.
-
He runs fast.
And the other one electrocutes people.
And the last one is just plain garbage.
-
I've already made a poll regarding this not too long ago. Didn't seem to have overwhelming support mate.
-
Bit childish to be calling a set of perks in a game a 'Small PP build', but by all means, be that socially inept.
-
You do realise a bulk of the issues with Nemesis is just the speed burst from the first strike added with the fact that you can rarely even hit a Tentacle on console, due to constant freezing when you fire it, right?
Also, I think you need to learn what the word 'grant' means. Survivors wouldn't be 'granted' Blindness, its a detriment to their health, so it'd be more fitting to say 'suffer from' as opposed to something positive.
-
The first two sound horrendously, horrendously OP. In fact, this whole idea does.

Yeah, I was just saying that I've noticed this isn't a straight men dominated game like many others.
Yeah, I just thought I'd check.
The question I would add as an extension to this now is, 'And there's nothing wrong with straight men, right?'... But that's not the topic in question, and I've had my fair share of hearing seriously concerning responses to questions like that (not that you'd necessarily follow in that trend, but just being safe haha)… so... yeah.
Cheers for the response.

We caught 'em, folks: the guy who wants to play a game in The Game.

Judging by your perks, you totally deserved it.
That's a joke, in case you're that dense.

No, it actually gives you bigger range on third tier. It's 24 meters from you (the killer). It shows you auras of Survivor more than this value.
Ah yes my bad, it's a Whispers situation.
I was treating as a means of finding Survivors further away from you. Which, mind you, may have been a better idea, considering the gist of this one is to provide a perk for those players who can't utilise Whispers for their lives.
-
One could argue it's some ill-fated 'misandric' ######### or that quality 'femme-empowerment' stuff, but the fact of the matter is that certain characters receive more attention because they're popular. Industry baby.
Or not... I'm completely horrified at that music video. Please let me unsee.
Edit: Thought my sentencing could be improved. Sue me.
-
I'm sorry, but if I'm reading this correctly, 'Assassin's Instinct' is reduced in effectivity for each tier it is increased?
Otherwise a rather decent concept. I am pretty interested.
-
Like many here have stated, I'd have to say a combination of them all, really.
But if I was to be brutally honest, it'd be undoubtedly because I inadvertently like to torture myself. Because this community can be a hellhole lol :D

im straight and i wear the charm to show support. i do think a big part of dbd are lgbt+ and women but i wouldn't know the statistics honestly :0
I'm sorry, but what do women have to do with anything explicitly? I'm taking this is a response to the fact that women have been a 'minority' in the video game community up until recently? Just looking for clarification. Thanks.

Mind me, but I frankly couldn't care less. Acting like promoting 'ample inclusion' and bragging that a gaming community (or any other one, for that matter) is comprised of a certain portion of one social group or demographic just creates further divide and dissent between people in that given community. When not concerning political premises and direct social analysis, these things really agitate me. This is going to sound a little off-put, and totally betraying of the general consensus in this community, but I really don't find glorifying a sexuality or a particular preference in people, nor race, ethnicity and culture, a respectable act. I'm not saying that's what's going on here, but if it were, I'd be a strong proponent of whatever opposition existed in its wake.
I guess I just don't like things that aim to support one group yet ones that, indirectly or otherwise, marginalise or exclude others simply on the basis of their own beliefs, preferences or functions. It's just a sour taste in my mouth. Call me whatever you want, but I just find it pathetic, honestly. Pathetic in that there is no reason one sort of person should be idolised or celebrated when we're all human, and all (well, most of us, anyway ;D) deserving of that same celebration and acknowledgement.
I really hope this isn't met with any unfair criticism, nor do I wish for it to be misconstrued in any regard. I genuinely believe what I said, and in the form that I said it. I'd like to reiterate that this doesn't necessarily apply here, but I think it could easily be led to that extreme by few.
I guess to answer the question, I'd say, who knows? Someone already mentioned human sexuality is complicated ('fluid', they put it, which is a term I wholly disagree with, because sexuality isn't exactly all-encompassing, nor is anything else), and with that in mind, there's no real way to determine what portion of the social pie is what, in any community or platform. It's more so a matter of a 'show of hands' than a 'hey, how much of __ is __?'. Just to circle back to my original point, who honestly cares? People should just respect each other for who they are, and acknowledge one another with the same respect.
Which is a double-edged sword, in a way, given the toxicity many players emit, both here and in-game.
Just my two cents. I hope my words have fallen on the right ears, and the type that won't blow this ######### out of proportion. Cheers. And to whoever has made it this far... congratulations! And thank you. Good on you for bothering with my jibber-jabber lol... I appreciate it! :D
-
Yeah, I'd usually cast these sorts of posts a blind eye and internally categorise it under the 'Attention-seeker bait' box, but I'm glad I actually took a minute to read this. I myself suffer from a restricting anxiety disorder which impedes upon almost every action and thought I make, so I can sympathise with you in regards to how you're feeling right now. We all know how death affects us, and it's even worse when it's multiplied by preexisting, crippling mental illnesses that we know will never cease to exist. Of course I don't know exactly how you're feeling -- that's a given -- but I hope you grieve as much as you might need to and then come out of this whole thing as a new person; someone who recognises the pains and agonies of their past but who looks onto the future with hope. It's definitely no easy task, and undoubtedly easier said than done, and as much as I may be somewhat of a hypocrite for saying it (because God knows I can never bring myself to seeing things that way, even in the most meaningless of situations), I truly mean it.
I am glad to see someone apologising for their actions. As much as we may feel such words and actions are justified when we're down in the dumps, they really aren't. Pardon if it comes off as insensitive, but yours were no exception. Good to see you taking ownership of that. Really nice. I'm probably a jaded ######### half the time when I'm hit with those common episodes, so again, my words only mean so much, but you're the better man (or woman, I have no way of knowing at the moment) for that.
Take care of yourself. You'll be alright. Trust in yourself. :)
-
I honestly hope it's never reworked. Whenever I'm sent there, I now treat it as a 'you asked for it' game to be toxic and tunnel and proxy-camp to the ends of the Earth. If you go out of your way to disrupt any chances I have at winning, just by using that horrendous offering, you'll get what's coming for you.

True that

Next event: 'Ephemeral Blight'
Get it? Because this game'll probably be dead very soon?
Yeah.
-
- Surveillance
- Make Your Choice
- Starstruck
- Blood Echo
- Trail of Torment
- Hex: Retribution
- Rancor
And Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain and Hex: Plaything might replace a few of those soon...
-
Absolutely, undoubtedly, undeniably, yes.

You hardly even get a haste term, though.

The sheer fact that the majority of the thread understood what the term meant suggests to me that it is commonly understood as “getting the 4%”. I recall a few years back there even being a discussion that we should drop the name due to the passing of the namesake, but it being disagreed upon because it in no way harmed his image.
Whether it’s a good name or not is subjective, but it is by no means a “pseudo-term”.
Not a pseudo-term? First time I've seen it used actively as opposed to someone throwing it into a statement as if everybody was fully aware of the context behind it. Granted, I was absent for about a good few months back in 2019, and one or two last year, but I by no means have encountered the term's usage in any scale like this. It would have been, if ever I did, one of those terms that was injected into a title and one which I would see people commenting 'Huh?' due to its relative niche coinage. May I add I never said it was a 'bad' term. I just said I had hardly heard it before. You may think it exceedingly popular, but the thing is, I can guarantee you it is very much not. Outside of these forums, there'd be very few non-forum-based people who would be familiar with the term. And that possibility is definitely heightened when you consider the type of players the overarching player-base is; casual solo queues who usually watch a DBD video every now and again on YouTube, if anything.
Also, a few years back? My friend, you surely know that Kobe only passed early last year? I am shocked that for a term so 'well-known' (by your count), and one that takes the name of someone so popular, you would forget such a event's occurrence. But then again, you mightn't keep on top of world events, so who am I to judge?
Anyway. Why are we debating this? If debating ever fit? This is a pointless argument. I am unsure as to why you couldn't have just stated that you understood it. It wouldn't have been verbatim or rude, which I construed your response as supportive of the latter. Cheers. :)
Edit: Just thought I might add that the '4%' could go by many names, so just because I don't refer to it as a 'Kobe', that does not mean that I am ignorant to the whole idea.
-
If a single game is causing depressive episodes, that's extremely concerning. I'm glad you've taken that initiative. Disregard anybody telling you otherwise mate.
-
As @glitchboi stated, Unbreakable. Either that or BT, when used in aggressive SWFS. Iron Will is a bit 'there' under the right circumstances.
And it's not that Unbreakable is necessarily 'broken', it's just ridiculously powerful.

I know, I just thought I’d include the word to expand upon what falls under the rule.
Fair enough, but discrimination is almost exclusively concerning sociopolitical matters and drama. Y'know, the ins and outs of targeting people on the basis of their beliefs, their ethnicity, race (which those latter two are also comprised under 'racism') and that lesser, well, political agitation? That stuff? I wouldn't say any of this really 'falls under [that] rule' at all. It's almost just targeting.

I’d say it’s reportable because of the “and I hate Leons” part. You can’t target/discriminate someone because of the character they choose to be.
That isn't discrimination. Not even close.
But of course it's reportable

You must not play much. I learned it from casual DBD conversation lol! Not even I knew what it was called. I'm not saying people HAVE to. The concept of a discussion is to discuss. I have actually read a fair amount of arguments as to why they shouldn't. You're not one of them. Save your strife to seem big-brained to yourself. It doesnt suit you nor the community. Try contributing next time!
Try contributing? I've been on these forums since 2018 my friend. Mind you, every comment I make either brings something to the table or bolsters the point of another here. No, 'Kobe', is not a well-known term around these parts; to that you would have to suggest some other late star is also a popular name in the community. And while we're at it, having never heard a pathetic pseudo-term is not indicative of playtime, nor is playtime indicative of skill (which is what you are so helplessly -- and foolishly -- implying). The ill-fated aplomb to this one is amusing. There's no discussion about this; it's just you placing an opinion in the threads as if it's fact.
-
First time I'm hearing of 'Kobe' being used in casual DBD conversation. I don't like it.
And no, no one Killer has the obligation to both understand what you are implying through restricted, in-game actions, and has no responsibility to accept such pleas, either. The whole idea you've concepted is ludicrous.
-
Voted up simply on the basis of how much time must have gone into this. Well done.

I've been a strong proponent of removing the rank system for some time now. It's just not needed. Hell, some 80% of this player base is probably casual.
-
I mean, that is their opinion... tier lists are opinions.
Except when you consider Nurse and Spirit.
-
Haven't had the time to give your post a genuine read, but I have to agree here.
The Dead by Daylight in-game matrix (if ever that were a legitimate thing) demands a predetermined set of perks for a Killer; you need your gen regression/oppression perks, chase perks, and if all else fails, slightly 'flawed' ones which only complement one of the former types. That's unfortunately it. There are some rather 'interesting' perks out there -- we all know that -- but for success' sake, you have to run this bland combination of Corrupt/Ruin, Pop/Surge (even though Surge has its downsides), BBQ or Infectious (or Blood Echo if you're feeling up to it), alongside another perk, just to qualify for a potential 3 or 4k in your average game. Sure, a handful of us can do it without those, and that's fine, but there really is this demanding principle surrounding Killer perk builds that just gets under my skin. It's honestly cheap that many Survivor builds can easily fall under that 'meme' category and still outwit a 'perfect' Killer build in every way. Not to mention Killer perks generally rely on maps far more than Survivor ones.

Make Your Choice.

Agreed. And it would give reason to actually play it, too.

Amanda needs urgent attention. I know we've all said it since day one -- well, many of us, anyway -- but she really is a painful case of developer neglect. Conversely, I am quite content with Myers remaining underwhelming and overly disconnected from the 'rest' of the roster... if I do recall correctly; BHVR have stated that they wish to keep Myers' base kit as it is?

And yes, I could see this being a viable rework. Or even the gist of another potential (new) perk.

Just for you, I screenshotted a bunch of threads that are right beneath yours as of right now, just as they are so you don't accuse me of cherry picking. Out of the ten threads that managed to fit into a single screenshot, six of them are dedicated to complaining about the game, I even went as far as to mark them for you, since you somehow struggle on your own.
Well deserving of an upvote. Godspeed for the rest of the day, my friend.

The fact that people chose the first option is hilarious, but unsurprising.

@Jasix said:
See I think killer is WAY more relaxing. I do what I do and that's that. I don't have to worry about finding totems, rescuing survivors, potato survivors, immersed survivors, etc etc etc... I just go out and try to sacrifice people. I earn way more bloodpoints as a killer because I know I can spread my tasks out into the different emblems. When I am a survivor it is either focus on gens...or focus on being chased. As a survivor it is hard for me each month to get back to rank 1 - hard meaning it takes about 3-4 sessions. With killer I am back to rank 1 in 1-2 sessions easily each month.
If you think Survivor is easier, you clearly don't get how this game is a 4v1, and that means that the odds are stacked in the former's favour.
