Why would it be though? I'm not understanding. Do you spend all game looking down at the ground? Lol what would happen if you removed scratch marks??? You can still follow blood trails, which are way more reliable than scratches anyways. I could understand it if I had said just remove scratch marks, but I didn't. So said scratch marks and red stain/terror radius. Why remove one and not the other?
Scratch marks are far more important than blood trails. If anything, I'd say clip those. With scratch marks, you gain a general direction of where Survivors have RAN to, whereas blood marks a spot where specific, INJURED Survivors have travelled. The only superiority that blood trails have is that they can be seen through most patches of grass or thick ground coverage. And, there was no need to be an aggressive arse about it. Everybody here understands, spare you, that scratch marks are a vital component of tracking Survivors. As a general rule of thumb -- because it sounds like you're really challenged with coming to terms with this stuff -- you follow scratches first and blood trails second. If you're tracking an injured Survivor, the two usually come hand-in-hand, but that doesn't mean that you should apply all your focus into following those dark-red spatter stains everywhere. Thing is, scratch marks are far more noticeable, and extremely effective in their job (although there are some bugs that hinder that). What you've suggested would be a travesty. And a travesty that you would want implemented.
If you seriously don't understand scratch marks, you may want to revise those baby tutorials in the menu screen. Enjoy. :D

Literally had a game in Coal Tower MacMillan early that spawned 6 LT walls (no other generic tile spawns), the main building, and killer shack. 5 of the 7 gens spawned inside the LT walls and of the 6 total, 2 pairs were adjacent to each other and another two were adjacent to the killer shack and main building respectively.
This made the map unplayable as the killer because every corner was a window that lead to another window so the entity never blocked anything and there was no possible way to stop the looping. I've noticed this is getting a bit stupid lately (since they disabled multiple maps) where gens are spawning in packs of 4 and 3 across the map and even with purple offerings to reduce distance between hooks there are gigantic dead zones for hooks.
Here is a reference photo, the red circles are the amount of windows just around the main building alone.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UZ0M0R8WRWBI/screenshot-2811-29.png
This is the prime example of ridiculous map generation I've been looking for.
I had a game recently where some 90% of the map's hooks were concentrated in almost a single tile on the opposite side of the map, whereas four of the seven gens (and the ones the Survivors were working on) were on the other side. Just... wow.
-
I was distant from this post from as early on as the first suggestion. What a horrible 'thought'. Removing scratch marks would be the death of the game...
The only thing I can agree on here, remotely, is ranks, and perhaps more objectives if it's tied into specific Killers' kits.
-
This is a post I hope is only ephemerally irritating. Nerf Pig? Pig is amongst the weakest Killers in the game; she's 100% RNG-based, luck dependent, and her power is only good in SELECT situations. More often than not, you'll be relying on being stealthy and unleashing your ambushes, trying to cycle through hooks, as opposed to affixing a trap to a Survivor's head. The fact that you are complaining about every aspect of her, and the fact that you're especially sooky about the tremendously flawed elements of her kit, says a lot about you. It means you've never played her. Worse yet; you've never seen gameplay of her. Or, enough to compensate for your shallow opinions.
Thing is, Pig, just like many other Killers -- we'll scratch Trickster out of this for now, because I'm just plain sick of hearing all those complaints -- is in a horrible place right now.

Yeah it's very harsh on the eyes. Ormond is manageable, I guess because there's no colour tint to it, but with coldwind I have to turn down the gamma to enjoy playing on it.
Nearly every Coldwind game I've had this year has been with Doctor and Freddy. Two unbelievably irritating Killers to play on that map... I don't know why, though.
-
I don't know about your suggested filter, but all I know is that I abundantly prefer the former Coldwind over the garbage one we have now. It's extremely difficult for one to adjust their eyes to that map, and that's without taking into account how annoying the overall composition of colours are... I just, I don't like it one bit.
-
Honestly, I'm asking the same question. I've recently started out with him myself, and of course being on console it's all hit-and-miss when it comes to glitches and lag while playing him...
-
Like, obviously Shaggy man
-
Just double or even triple whatever BP you'd get from Chases and/or Hooks. Honestly, it may be controversial, but BP gains across the board are horrendous. That'd fix the 'grind' aspect of it, but as for ranking... well...

In which proportion do u go against sweaty SWF in comparison to random solo q players? I don´t play killer often, but i heard killers say that most of the times they play vs solo q randoms. And even if sometimes they face SWF, a good proportion of this groups are just fooling around not going for gen rush. I think t-bag and clicky clicky must be something usual on this type of games, but many of this guys are still playing unneffectively.
Solo q is the weaker role of the whole game. Solo q < Killer < SWF. But don´t forget most of the games happen on Solo Q, where every killer can certainly work.
I'm almost always going against SWFs. No joke. Team names across the board, gen-rush approach to the game, all mirroring perks, and constantly aware of my every move. Thing is I don't let it get to heart. It's just a game.
In fact, I right now happen to be in my 'relaxed' mode: late afternoon, chilling to early Christmas music, and revising work for school exams. Maybe you just have to take a break? I don't know, DBD can burn you out quite easily. Take care.

@Artemisha said:
I´m red rank solo survivor. About 70% of the times I´m just playing vs tunneler proxy-camper tryhards that need win at any cost.
Can players that just wanna have fun, loop, avoiding gen rush, and play nice have a casual mode? I´m pretty tired of tryhard killers abusing the Solo Q with camp tunnel tactic. There are also really good killers that don´t need to cheese their victories and are able to win splitting hooks, but thats not a big percentage unfortunetely.
So behaviour don´t wanna deal with Solo Q unbalance and makes the more dirty strats the more effective plays....Well, at least just give us a casual mode where people is more focused on have fun than on "winning". People usually forgets we are not playing tournaments or playing for money. Just for fun.
I'm actually over these pointless, whining threads. If you're so sick of 'proxy-tunnelling' (sorry bud, going for a kill every now and again is quite viable; when I need a mission done I'll see it through a couple of times) and 'pseudo-camping' (as others I have seen have put it), run the right perks to address that and don't be what you say: a 'fun-at-all-costs' Survivor. I've had plenty of run-ins with pain-in-the-ass, toxic Red Rank Survivors since rank reset when I'm a very low rank at the moment, as I've recently moved over to Xbox and I play very inactively. So much so that, amidst that horrible lag and those frequent glitches, teleportation issues and yes -- occasional 'exploits' on my opponents' end -- playing for 'fun' and just messing around rather than going for 4ks head-on has been rendered almost impossible unless I dedicate a 3-gen bracket to legitimately going out of my way to hook 2 Survivors twice. At least. I can't just have fun; God forbid I be 'nice'.
And as much as it may contradict a thread I've made recently, I'm getting fed up of treating every SWF I come up against like they are deserving of respect and a fun game. Because so far, every group has been the same: triple flashlights (annoying, but I just make sure to be a pest to them), quadruple BT and oftentimes triple DS -- which is ok given how it counters many 'irritating' Killer strategies -- and the constant tea-bagging all the while. If you're not on a last-gen console, then you won't know how painful it is to have these things -- especially with the unforeseen freezes and lag spikes -- happen to you on not just a regular recurring basis, but dozens of times every game. The actually decent and fun matches I've had recently have been 4ks, which is often the ones I'm not having so much fun in, but luckily enough I received games with Survivors who are just nice and fun like I am. For reference, those 'fun' games in question are ones I played today with PH and Demo for the first time, with only 2 and 3 perk slots respectively, after I bought them yesterday. I'm having a fun time so far with them both, and I'm getting a good grip on their gameplays.
On the whole, though, this really comes down to you dealing with your own issues. Take the initiative. You mightn't like having to resort to running certain perks, but count yourself as one lucky person. Most of us Killer mains don't get that liberty. If you don't run certain perks 90% of the time, say goodbye to even decent pipping, because a majority of your matches will be just plain toxic. Even given the horrible experience I've had as of late, I've never acted or even once thought it was my opposition's fault. It always comes down to my own rejecting to play certain builds, Killers, and add-ons and/or strategies. That is, I'm afraid, the end of the story.
But whatever, you do you I guess. That's just my two cents.

Gearhead, Trail of Torment, Fire Up and Coup De Grace have been sitting in the Walmart bargain bin for months and even years now. The devs know exactly how to make them good, because the good version actually existed, but they won't do it out of fear that having 5 good lunges in a match is gonna somehow make killer a cakewalk. They can't stand the thought of a simple perk with a simple function, everything has to be convoluted at best and counter-productive at worst. Every time I look through my perks to make a new build, I think of something interesting and am immediately frustrated because I remember some tacked-on downside that exists for no reason other than the balance team being incredibly timid and slow.
As survivor I have my healing build, my sprint burst build, my aura build, my plunderer build, my self-reliance build, my gen jockey build, and my stealth build.
As killer I have my tryhard build and my sloppy butcher build because everything else has too many artificial, pointless side-effects.
Wanna know why every Blight plays the same? Because hardly any killer perks are worth using. The pool of perks that Blight specifically can make use of is even smaller. If simple perks were allowed to exist, survivors would get to play VS something more interesting than the same 3 killers with the same rotation of 7 perks every game.
I actually don't mind Trail of Torment, when and if it is Pyramid that is being paired with it.
-
You toxic, complaining Survivors will never get over the fact that Ghostie's kit is just good. Everybody knows his hatchets, total Wraith Wailing Bell invisibility, impervious undetectable status, Trickster knives, flying, and his other abilities, such as his teleportation skills and insta-down properties, are balanced. Get over it.
Seriously though, why are PC lobbies so rife with cheats and hacks, lol?
-
@Tsulan said:
Honestly? With how the game is balanced right know?
Just play without gen slowdown perks. You´ll get 3 or 4 hooks by the time the gates are powered and might end up with 0 to 1 kills.
Things might change once the skill based matchmaking goes live. But until then you either conform yourself with getting almost no hooks or switch to survivor.
SBMM isn't live yet? Wow, lobbies keep getting worse on rank reset.
Yes, this is sarcastic, in case you're not that sufferable (again, just in case). My matches have just been haywire; perfectly great matches against Survivors on my level, and then matches against toxic SWFs all equipped with flashlights and BT (which is tolerable under the right circumstances, but still irritating). And of course there's the odd 'why-are-all-the-Survivors-crouch-walking-everywhere' matches in the mix. Great. These times are worse than ever before.
-
Considering the outfits have a 60% sale or whatever on them right now, I'm quite sure prestige will still be recognised as basic play rewards and will still count as cosmetics, which, by that sale, would mean you're fine.
-
Nemesis is definitely extremely fun, regardless if I ######### up nearly every second game I play with him. To this day, I've only had some two 4ks out of five games with him, including one with zero kills, because I'm console and of course, I use a Tentacle Strike, and the entire bloody screen freezes for six seconds.
4k on Haddonfield is great though. I love playing anti-loops with him on 'Survivor-friendly' maps. Personally, the worst one is Backwater though.
-
I am beyond baffled at why Coup and Gearhead were nerfed. Even now Remember Me is weak (16 seconds is far too low), but plausible under the right conditions, but Gearhead is so painful to run... I see Coup working in certain scenarios, however. That T3 Myers still works hehe

I was almost going to call this post out for naming or shaming, luckily you spared the Killer's name. This post is just laughably passive-aggressive. If not that, it screams 'I'm angry at a game playstyle and want to rant'. Mate, you would be upset, but there's no need for this.
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
I feel this is too confusing and has potential to be overpowered. Thanatophobia is already a non-hex perk that helps with defending totems. Legion with Ruin/Devour+Undying+Thanatophobia is already really good.
Running triple Hexes doesn't sound like an idea very beneficial for your gameplay. That's a serious gamble.
-
It was talked about amply before you made this thread. For most of us, this isn't breaking news; we've known for nearly two days by now, at least.
BHVR most likely had a contract that expires toward the end of the year, and, given Netflix is known for fancy licences and costly investments, it wouldn't be far-fetched to suggest that the short license BHVR had on Stranger Things was just beginning to feed on their profits (not directly, of course, that's insane, just that it was getting too expensive). Perhaps even more likely considering that, the upcoming Stranger Things Season 4 had Netflix asking for more for a licence renewal on BHVR's end.
Or maybe Netflix agencies no longer wish to uphold a contract with BHVR, or don't want future or existing content implemented anymore.
Either way, if you have the characters, you keep them, so the only thing we're truly losing is Hawkins and possible perk changes in the future. Maybe.
-
'Pinhead' is rather easy to type, whereas 'Pyramid Head' (whilst still easy, Americans have to realise they're just lazy) is slightly 'harder'. Besides, Pyramid Head is two separate words (Pyramid + Head) while Pinhead is not.
I think it's official. Pyramid Head is PH. Anybody who says otherwise is a fool hehe. :D

No where on the Ghost Face DLC store page is 'Chapter' mentioned (at least on Steam). It wasn't advertised as a Chapter like the one preceding it (Demise of the Faithful) or the one succeeding it (Stranger Things).
This applies to the other three Paragraphs as well.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0XHWHGNA4K7M/image.png
If the developers consider Ghost Face to be a chapter, that's certainly not indicated in their marketing.
When Ghost Face was released, it was advertised under 'CHAPTER XII: Ghost Face', whereas things like Leatherface are listed as 'PARAGRAPH'. For reference, you can view the wiki. Ghost Face was treated as a legitimate chapter. I remember this wholeheartedly, thinking, 'So we're calling paragraphs full chapters now?'
Believe me, it is strange.
-
This look agonising. I've never gone for adept on any character myself, but I know as a matter of fact Survivors have it WAY too easy.
Want this achievement? Sure, just get out of the gates.
YOU want THIS achievement? Better throw those guys on the hook numerous times for me, play perfectly, and ensure you do not let off at any moment... oh, and even if you do well, you won't get this achievement.
Pretty unfair.
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
Definitely seems like a let down compared to Chapter 20.
One Killer with three perks is quite a bit lesser then one Killer with three perks, two Survivors with six perks and a new map.
They're not even advertising it as a Paragraph, like with Ghost Face and Leatherface. This is a full Chapter, apparently.
You know Ghost Face was advertised as a chapter initially, right?

Everything about Pinhead thrills me. Fulfills my speculation for him in my concepts years back (and a more recent one), and just brings such joy to me. I can't wait to be playing him when he's released.
And as for Chucky, there could be numerous animations that would work, too. Who knows? They could 'betray' the franchise a little and make a bunch of possessed toys lift the Survivor into the air. It wouldn't be impossible

The Hellraiser stuff is actually all official clues/hints plus speculation and not leaks iirc.
No it's not confirmed, but there's ample evidence that we have -- most likely -- genuine leaks. But, knowing how gaming companies work, this could all be one big fool... we'll just have to wait and see!
Edit: Typo
-
I think leaks are an integral part of any prosperous community, so I'd hope that the whole community could recognise that. Right now, they're not huge compared to other communities', but they sure have the potential to be.
Or maybe I don't think that... Maybe I'm being a good boy for my jail sentence.
Nah. I do believe that. Hellraiser leaks have me hyped! I'm going to be quite upset if it was all a joke...

Then this proves that better survivors face stronger killers more often. I have noticed on player streams, and myself have been facing lots of S tier, and A tier killers (I.E Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, etc), while it looks like you have actually faced a mixture of many kinds of killers.
I'm frequenting Blight above all other killers, so I'm hoping that spices up gameplay for the Survivors I come across. I'm really enjoying him. Sticking to Doctor and Freddy simply for the consistency is painful. I can pip up with Blight just as well while not playing Killers that I like, but Killers that would irritate most Survivors I play against.
Also, hi again... I feel personally inclined to thank you once again for your input regarding how to start off with playing Freddy. All turned out going swimmingly well.

I was also surprised that he came out on top. I was expecting Wraith or Spirit.
I would have wagered Spirit or even an influx of Tricksters (not the top-grossing stat, just a contender). Wild stuff.

@VioletCrimes said:
Why 36? Because I meant to stop at 35, but queued up for another match without thinking. I kept track of the killers I faced just out of curiosity since people were saying it would be all nurse, spirit, and wraith. For reference, I was rank 7 before the reset. This is the breakdown, from most often faced to least:
Nemesis: 5
Doctor: 4
Ghostface: 3
Wraith: 3
Myers: 3
Huntress: 2
Nurse: 2
Trapper: 2
Trickster: 1
Legion: 1
Pig: 1
Spirit: 1
Oni: 1
Pyramidhead: 1
Billy: 1
Twins: 1
Blight: 1
Plague: 1
Freddie: 1
Slinger: 1
So, a lot of the usual suspects, but more variety than I would have expected.
Looks like I'll be running Oni when I get him after all. Because I suspect subsequent SBMM tests to be imminent. Lol.
But damn I'm surprised at the sheer number of Nemeses you faced... I've only mustered the sheer will to commit to three games with him.

An Aztec Killer would almost indefinitely be a cannibal and have their name as something like 'Quetzelahcoatl' (definitely not Quetzelcoatl 👀) or 'Xloloc'... Map could also easily be a lush forest-scape with a decorated pyramid towering above much of it, spruced with ritual grounds and remnants of old buildings.
And as for Egypt, I could undoubtedly see a nice Kemetic temple adorned with glistening waters, green plants and sand with Giza-esque pyramids or something like a portion of ancient Memphis as a map, with the Killer being a heretic seer or Set or Anat cult lunatic (or even Akhenaten himself, lol).
That'd be great.
-
You have got to be insane, right?

Pretty bland, honestly. I was home alone, and watched a couple of episodes of Parks and Rec, played a couple of decent games of DBD, and watched some DIVE TALK videos. I'm really interested in the logistics of diving, so I never pass up an opportunity to watch a full DIVE TALK every second day or so. I'd highly recommend watching one if you're interested in analyses of diving accidents, expert discussions of the implications of diving and talks on the fundamentals of diving; environmental pressures and basic physical concepts that concern deep-sea dives. Woody and Gus, the two hosts, are undeniably experienced and offer such great insight into the world of diving. I'm sure you'd love it. Maybe.
Anyway. Other than that, I just worked on a little makeshift project of mine: a wooden spike-bat-thing carved from wood from my backyard, which has wooden boards of nails I applied nailed into it, secured by metal wire (kinda like Steve Harrington's bat in Stranger Things S2, I believe).

^This. There's a reason why games like this are referred to as 4v1. Competitive teams have proven just how powerful survivors can be when a team works well together. Not to mention survivors have the added benefit of working together in a SWF, thus giving them constant information on where the Killer is at, and what the Killer is doing at all times. That's a "skill" that no Killer can compete with, which is why you hear so many players asking for a buff in some capacity if the game detects you going up against a SWF.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
-
@Nos37 said:
As survivor, if I find the hatch first, but the killer has time to look for it after hooking the only other remaining survivor, then the hatch goes to the killer despite them NOT finding it first.
Let whoever finds the hatch first be able to bury it in leaves/debris. It becomes invisible to the opponent(s) until it springs open.
With this, change keys. Make breakable walls breakable doors. Survivors with keys can open the doors and close them behind themselves, making the killer choose to break it or go another route.
Now, Windows of Opportunity has a reason to show survivors the auras of breakable walls.

Gonna have to say Demo. They have mobility, a nice collection of add-ons, great anti-loop (people underestimate Shred), and amazing 3-gen pressure.
However I have PH as a close second, then it's Freddy, Bubba, Nemesis, Pig, Ghostface, and Myers.
I was going to add Demo on my list of good designs, but he's also really bland at the same time. I think you get what I mean. He has a unique kit, but he's extremely repetitive.
Then again, I have Nemesis there even after I literally said he's dull and repetitive... damn.

Don't know why you sound so hostile when people disagree with you, because saying that Pyramid Head 'is the best' is an opinion and an opinion only, but I'd say that Freddy is the strongest for me personally.
Whereas design-wise, it's definitely Pyramid Head or Nemesis (despite Nemesis being pretty dull and repetitive).

Pinhead's power: After sixty seconds or when hit, Survivors enter the Pin Realm. While in the Pin Realm, Survivors can be subject to Pinhead's Pin Traps, which slow down Survivors for a limited time and show the aura of that Survivor to Pinhead for a short duration. In his offhand, Pinhead is able to project a Cenobite Demon on a nearby generator and teleport to that generator via the Cenobite. This action is called Demon Projection. Any Survivor in the Pin Realm can be woken up by another Survivor who is not in the Pin Realm or they can locate a discarded Lament Configuration to return to the normal realm of the Entity.
What a unique concept. :)
