  • Take care mate. At least somebody could be respectable.

Yeah we don't care, don't let the door hit u on the way out

And nobody cares about your inhumanity. Next?

  • Survivor is always the least concern with SBMM. Killers are always pitched against high-ranking Survivors who ######### on them (especially if they're new) or they're matched with new Survivors who don't even know how to complete a gen.

You know I actually love Oppression. But in this case it has too high of a cooldown and still requires you to kick a gen. I'm talking just like a single gen, within no more than maybe 10 meters, and no animation required on a low CD.

That's a bit of a niche and pointless idea though

  • Sounds like you lack creativity yourself. Chances are they'll rip off an existing Killer's powers or concepts, but there's a lot of room for imagination with Pinhead's unique abilities...

Because of the old TV scene what immediately came to my mind was “Poltergeist” when the little girl stares at the TV and says “They’re heeeeere!”.

I got a good feeling it’s “The Beast” from Poltergeist! That white phantom monster. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t. I remember watching that movie with my parents. My parents said it came out in the 80s before I had been born, and the TV shows the time in the late 80s. The villain was a cult leader that got a bunch of followers and himself killed. His ghost amassed lots of power through his followers’ demise, and it became a super powerful phantom (The Beast). It had to travel through electronic devices to get around. It could communicate through televisions or psychics (The little girl). It could conjure up monster forms to attack people, raise the dead, bend the general space, and rally other spirits to join in it’s evil agendas. It desired to pull souls towards the other side instead of the “light” so that it’s empowered even further. It hates the “Light” as much as The Entity does. Perhaps The Entity could make The Beast an emissary, or strike an agreement of some kind that they can pull more victims into the realm. Win-win. The new level would be the actual haunted house from Poltergeist! The huge house itself along with the huge backyard area! Remember the swimming pool scene with the skeletons?? I do!

Why do I think this? Because we haven’t had a “phantom” killer since “The Spirit”, and everyone is tired of Nurse/Spirit. Every new killer so far has been humanoid. Trickster being the most human of all, which many people dislike. Adding another non-human, or ghost type killer would be like fresh air.

If you immediately thought of Poltergeist, you make want a check-up...

  • In terms of his own available perks, there's not much, but I'd definitely run:

    • Pop/Overcharge
    • Lethal
    • Oppression/Corrupt/Ruin
    • No Way Out OR Sloppy if you HAVE TO

You're sacrificing a lot by letting them live. The amount of points lost for someone escaping can mean the different between a depip and a safety pip depending on your rank, how long you kept gens unfinished, how many overall hooks you got, etc. The sacrifice scoring event is pretty important.

If you're horrible at every other event it is. Which, by the sounds of it, you are.

Oh yeah, I misunderstood, my b but yeah I usually play normally without being as would people now a days would say sweating.

    I don't bm, haven't done it since mw2.

I usually also don't tunnel and actually I protect survivors who are farmed.

I play both sides and understand how it feels but I also don't blame people who play how they want to because it is their game, they bought it.

Fair enough mate. At least your argument has foundation.

I'm a survivor main. Killers being doormats would benefit me. However, knowing what most vocal survivors are like, I don't blame killers for not being nice to survivors, given the usual experience they have as a result.

@Apollos made a great point just before. By your logic (if it can even be considered 'logic', it's more just an opinion), Survivors either follow this rubric system of being painful, uncaring ######### or Killers should be that way to Survivors because of a supposed 'general experience' that has accumulated through what I am assuming is limited playtime and YouTube channels like Spook n Jukes?

Don't get me wrong, I love Spooks, but even he is an advocate for fair play and treatment even in spite of the fact that he gets insulted by toxic Survivors nearly every game he plays on Twitch...

  • @OldHunterLight said:

I do give hatch every now and then, even then I get insulted for playing the killers I play.

I don't understand why you are hostile though.

You must have misconstrued my words. I'm not hostile, I'm just genuinely curious why some people find it so hard to just be nice every once and a while in a game that is played for fun by a majority of its playerbase. But as I said, it's your playstyle, and I respect that. You do you mate.

  • I'll say that, in light of recent games, I'm definitely leaning on the following (descending) order: Blight, Ghostface, Doctor, and Freddy, with a little Nemesis on the side.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2427890#Comment_2427890

Do you know what a person is called when they're constantly nice to people who insult, degrade, and denigrate them? A doormat. I don't think people should be doormats.

I don't think people should be doorknobs either. But maybe you want to be one?

  • @OldHunterLight said:

Once I was called the r-- word for memeing and being nice.

But honestly, when killers play nice we always get insults and stuff.

Bit of a poor excuse to be a dead-hard, unaccommodating obstacle for Survivors though, isn't it? You can't just give hatch every once and a while?

But hey, who am I to judge? It's your playstyle.

  • @sulaiman said:

I am a survivor main, and i encounter killers that go out of their way to not tunnel (after i run into them by accident after being unhooked, for example), and that is really good sportsmanship, to me.

However, a lot of my fellow survivors (i play only solo for some time now) are really toxic if the killer goes easy on them. I had games where very fair killers were shamed afterwards by my teammates, even though the game had easily been turned into a 2 of 3k if the killer had decided to play sweaty. I call them out for it, of course, but i can see why killers stop doing that.

Too many people only play one side of this game and forget that the other party are their play partners, not a bot and not their enemy.

Thank you. I never tunnel purposely unless Survivors are being toxic ######### (one Yun-Jin spam-crouched after a pathetic Haddonfield loop earlier, and rest assured they were killed quicker than you can say 'entitled') or when I literally have to (I say have to, but it's more when I'm not willing to de-pip because of Survivors running amok and yes, being toxic). Otherwise, I cycle hooks pretty freely, especially when I play Nemesis -- who I've now learned to play, despite his many ailments -- and I never go out of my way to be an arse, like many Survivors do (sorry not sorry). But alas I made this post because I do genuinely care about player experiences and I go out of my way to be sportsmanlike at every interval imaginable.

    Edit: Typo hehe

well, the letters that were found can spell RAISE, and today we got 4 audio files that when connected together in the correct order, and put into a spectogram, and then reversed appear to show H E L L. So we have HELLRAISE. There was also the pin in the dartboard that isn't there in the game, and ace trapped in a cage. So those clues seem to point towards but personally i am not convinced on anything.

I am aware of this, but these all seem like red herrings or just absolute bait. The type of people carrying on about this are also the type who scream about 'cAnDyMaN iS cOmInG tO dEaD bY dAyLiGhT!' seventy bloody times a year.

  • I don't know why everybody's so convinced we're getting a Hellraiser chapter.

pretty sure backseat moderating is also not allowed sooooo yeah.

    @AnneBonny

I mean yeah you should, they are dated movies (imo) but not bad, the sequel is also a decent watch.

The lore behind it is pretty interesting and fits in with stuff like Event Horizon or so.

And also watch the original Candyman if you havent yet should we ever get that chapter, that movie is pretty awesome imo.

There is no 'backseat moderating' going on here. This post should clearly fall under Off-top discussions, so I requested that future posts like this be created under Off-topic. Very simple statement, and nothing to do with moderating the forums.

  • This stuff is always troubling because, at the end of the day, this is someone's opinion (but one most of us wouldn't condone), which both means that someone feels this way in public and deems their beliefs necessary, which are two totally untrue concepts. But yeah, I'm sure you can successfully report this for communications abuse regardless. Maybe not 'targeted harassment'; that seems problematic for reporting standards somehow, and I'm sure it wouldn't be investigated properly, but you can definitely pin this person for abuse.

  • Not to be a killjoy, but this would be categorised under Off-topic. Just for the future. Cheers.

I try to be, but too many survivors throw it in your face. I let a survivor who got farmed run away & then at the end of the match they were teabagging at hatch told me ggez trash & blocked me. People with issues play this game I swear.

I can agree on that one. I had a game earlier this evening with a toxic SWF team who were literally all running BT, and were trying to spam flashlights at every interval. I avoided them proficiently, but they were extremely irritating. Thank God I'm playing Blight regularly now... I just kept mindgaming, faking pick-ups and picking up at walls, and pulled numerous insane lethal rush hits on them and somehow came out with somewhere like 8 hooks and 2 kills. Not great at all, but it's great that I just took it in my stride. The sons of bitches were tea-bagging constantly...

As a beginner, I would advise to you to use Zanshin Tactics to see and try to remember where pallets and vaults are. It's a great learning tool.

I've learned enough from my nearly four years of DBD to know how to keep tabs on broken pallets and vault locations, and I'm confident that extends to every Killer, even Blight, but I appreciate your input lol. I was more so focusing on Blight-specific criteria, because let's face it, none of us have too many problems with remembering pallets and windows :D

  • @SMitchell8 said:

I'm an Oni main but I keep getting urges to try Blight. Im pretty handy with Oni's demon dash, but how does he play compared to Blight? He looks more complicated

Not too difficult after a while. Essentially, you have five tokens which each replenish extraordinarily quickly. Each time you fire your power you consume a token, and dash forward. You should almost always aim to collide with an obstacle, at which point you can chain another rush, and opening yourself up for a lethal rush (a rush where you can attack). I'm sure you know all that -- everybody does, right? -- but it's literally that easy, honestly. Granted, it takes some practice, but from what I've seen and heard about Oni, I'm going to say he's more difficult. But yeah, you're kinda right, Blight is more complicated. But not to the point where he's irritatingly hard to play. Just enough to make him a practice-makes-perfect kind of Killer. He's great :D

Glad to hear! And I hope it helps. Blight is the best thing bhvr have made for me XD I love him so much, and I truly think he is the best designed killer in the game...despite a few annoying bugs. Do hope you have a blast with him too! :3

I made an analysis video for him back in August when his PTB was announced... my God it feels like ages ago. But yeah, I fell in love with him myself, from appearance to power to perks and overall design... just gets me so excited, if I'm honest. I love everything about it. One of the greatest additions to DBD if you ask me. Glad we both agree on it that! :D

  • @Jago said:

Honestly Blight has so much freedom concerning his perks... Play for pleasure my friend.

LilithOmen is a great Blight main, a lot of useful tips you can get from him.

Overall I think the main learning curve with Blight is knowing the collisions, what is bounceable, what is not. You can take those in your advantages for crazy flicks around textures.

    Practice, practice... And practice.

Already on it mate. I think I'm going great, but maybe it's too early to tell. Rest assured, I'm having a hell of a time. Cheers.

  • @Aneurysm said:

You won't do well with him at first. My first game I didn't land a single rush it. My second game I got one. Nowadays I'm not an amazing blight by any means but these days probably most of my hits are rush hits. Unlike nurse even if you're really struggling to get hits you can just be a 115 killer with great mobility which isn't the worst thing, but you should go for rush hits at every opportunity at first, even probably impossible ones, just to get a feel for what you can and can't do.

Already working on it. If you read my edit, I had a great game, and it's safe to safe I'm keeping it consistent. Doing really well at the moment. I'm glad I gambled with difficult lethal hits in the first couple of games, because now I know full well when and when not I can hit my lethals, even in the tightest of scenarios. Only thing that's bugging me is... what's with some surfaces and just not letting you slam into them sometimes? :D

  • @xenotimebong said:

The filter is incredibly dumb. I had someone say “slit ur wrists” to me, which wasn’t blocked btw, and also someone told me “go die” which was apparently fine, but then in a separate chat when I tried to say “delete Hawkins” the name of the map was censored. I also got censored for saying “glad I run Bond”.

I’ve never had an offensive word or insult be censored, I called someone a butthead the other day (jokingly) which was fine but Yun-Jin’s name gets censored for me every time. Why even have it at this point? People can freely call you slurs and tell you to die but the names of characters, maps and perks are blocked.

I play console now, but end game chat is always ridiculous regardless of situation. It censors out perfectly fine and suitable sentencing, but it lets the inhumane and deplorable ######### right through the filter. Insane.

Literally 1984. First they don't let you say Myers in a video game, the next thing rats are eating your face

The chat filter is dumb but let's not get overexcited

Yup. And the thing is, this is actually true. Despite that being a joke and an over-exaggeration now, at the rate our societies are going, who knows where we'll end up?

    @indieeden7 said:

A theory that I had a while back is that the filter censors out names, probably in case a player, for whatever reason, decides to doxx another player.

Might be far fetched but it could be plausible.

Wouldn't call it far-fetched. People are absolute hypocritical monsters online nowadays. They'll dox anyone, from the sickest of internet fiends to the most innocent of children. Horrible stuff, and completely unjustified in every situation. But it happens.

  • As I've started a new Xbox account, I wish these could be of more help, but when I have BP they get spent pretty quickly lol... but cheers as always. Always insightful!

  • @NekoTorvic said:

Also, if you watch the video you'll see something called "hug tech" which is hugging an object really close during your slam before initiating a rush. This can still be done, but you have to look down as you initiate the rush or else Blight just goes into fatigue.

    @TerrorUnleashed said:

I recently made a thread not too long ago regarding this same thing but with Freddy. So far I've only played one game of Blight on my new Xbox account -- and that was a few weeks ago now -- despite having purchased him from the start of the account's creation. I'm just absolutely petrified of playing him. The only game I played was horrendous. It was a Springwood SWF where I was attempting to learn his chain rushes and lethals, and I was just plain abhorrent with it. Couldn't chain efficiently, barely hit lethal shots... and to make matters worse, I think I was so stressed that I forgot how to chain without lethalling lol...

I know better now, obviously, and I'm not a horrible player all-around, in case you're wondering. I'm just still worried. I'm about to hop into another match of him, and I suspect it'll go horribly, but if there's one thing I've learned over the years with DBD, it's that you've got to try and try again and learn in the process in order for results to start showing. Having recently converted to console, that's rather hard...

But I just want some tips. What perks should I use (and I'd appreciate limiting it to Blight's own accessible ones, because I've only got limited teachables -- new account, after all), what add-ons should I run in the beginning, etc... I'm currently sitting with a rather 'meh' build: NOED (shush, I'm not good with Blight), Sloppy, Dragon's, and Unrelenting (that's substituted for Undying), and I have Umbra Salts and Foxglove equipped as I don't want to auto-consume my better ones.

Thanks in advance. I do like playing Blight.

Edit: I just had my second game with him. I absolutely love him! I landed what I consider some insane Lethals, snared a 4k, and had an abundant amount of fun in the process! So thrilling.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I am aware of hugging, as I'm not a new player -- been here for a while, lol -- and I'm glad to say that I'm really enjoying Blight now. I've just had four odd consistent games with him, and I feel I'm improving with every one. First game after this post was Father Campbell's, and, as my edit states, I racked a 4k easily and had great fun in the process. I'm loving him. Once more, cheers for your replies. I'll definitely see through to implementing them into my playstyle. I've got to say, at this rate, I might be a Blight main in no time. :D

Just compare the amount of matches where you gave the hatch to the last survivor. To the amount of matches, where you performed bad, all were about to escape and a survivor offered himself to be sacrificed.

Such offers are almost always because a player wants to disconnect. In that case, it's an optimal outcome for you, as they're not insta-DCing and it's quite a fair play on both sides. I've had far greater matches than the one in question, and many more great ones than worse ones, so I'm more than happy with giving hatch or exits every once and a while because I'm not some dull, apathetic player who thinks the game is their life. That's my take on things. I'm here to have fun, not be some jaded Killer who's over fun and just wants to make Survivor players' lives a misery.

  • @Tsulan said:

    This goes both ways.

Sadly, most of the time, when the killer is playing nice. The survivors either say nothing or BM after the match.

Yet survivors are surprised that killers suddenly don´t play nice anymore.

I've always tried to have fun with it all, but it ultimately doesn't end up being a two-side deal. I haven't had too much experience with Survivor, so I didn't feel qualified to say much in that regard.

Oh I thought I made it clear you had to run ONLY Monstrous. But I see your strategy lol...

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Trapper with Shrine wouldn’t even be that bad, provided you get basement in the Shack.

You’d have to play in a way some would consider dull, but you didn’t specify that.

I actually included Trapper because I always think of that classic Trapper-shack 'build' whereby you run Agitation, Brutal Strength, Monstrous, and something like Shadowborn (if you recall such combinatios). Definitely not horrible -- even given that the perks I mentioned aren't the greatest together -- but also rather bland.

  • Kazan's whole story almost exactly mimics a book I began work on a few years ago, but which I've only now taken the time to take a solid shot at writing. The whole idea of a Japanese child reared with the ideas of the 'perfect' Shinto person being a person of unwavering honour for ones family, respect for military (samurai) code, and a person who, against all odds, would raise his (or her, this is Japan after all, not Medieval England) katana or kanabo in even the most grim of situations out of the sheer love for their country and its peoples. That whole concept... that was what I was going for. A person who grew up with those mottos infused in them, to the point where their odyssey for upholding those values and ideas took them to numerous extremes, blinded them, and clouded their judgment in a way where they could no longer separate morality from vanity and right from wrong. A person who, having experienced hardships only within their mind significantly, turned to the dark spirits that resided in their subconscious mind (or perhaps the world around them), and affixed their desires with that of the demonic, the occult. A person who was so hellbent on enacting what they saw as 'justice' on every innocent person who did not fit their criteria of 'pure' or those who mocked them. Ultimately, given all that, I'd say that Kazan himself was truly an 'Oni' himself from the outset. If you really think about it, those ideas were already apart of him; already ingrained within his mind, and it was his sudden and radical descent into madness that drove that part of him out of the shadows and into the forefront of his mind, where it seized control of him, effectively 'killing' the last strands of Kazan's humanity and metaphorically killing Kazan in the process... With that in mind, I'd say any feelings he had fled with his loss of humanity, as they would.

Also, if you don't recall a past interaction of ours, I'd just like to say that I think we got off on the wrong foot, and I do appreciate these lore posts of yours. Keep doing what you're doing mate.

  • I'd go for 'The Attraction' (as per fan-made trailers) or something like 'The Consequence'. The latter is namely due to Afton's work literally becoming his own demise and it creating a terror even he could not comprehend, nor control.

  • Title correction.

    'Is It SpRiNgTrAp? 😱😱😱'

You know, gotta emphasise the wonkiness of the sentiment a little ;)

  • NOED doesn't necessarily reward bad play because it's typically used as a backup perk for when things get rough. Half the time NOED doesn't even trigger. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I run NOED on Freddy as a joke, because it's never even once been fired. Just there to piss people like you off.

  • I've personally had little experience with everybody's 'buff me-nerf me' poster boy, even given his belated late-March release, but I've recently come around to enjoying watching clips of him and I'm even considering purchasing him over Oni or Deathslinger next. Granted that's primarily due to the fact that I've recently returned to playing DBD Mobile extremely casually on-the-go, and despite awful connectivity issues (there has been consistent problems with Mobile Australia servers and being pitched up against players in North American and European ones) and rampant lag spikes, I've had fun with him. I could certainly see myself playing him on console with little to no care for how I play, because I just find his demeanor that interesting. I like the quips/noises he makes when he's hit with a pallet or otherwise impeded, I like his hit animations, his gen animations, his perks are quite entrancing (but most of them far from 'good' in my books), and his power, in spite of being a hit-and-miss thing and a total rebranding of Huntress' power, I actually like it. A lot.

But seriously, on a whole other note, people have to stop with these Trickster complaint posts. We get it.
