Have you tried running perks like Overcharge and Pop before?

Isn't it the opposite? I mean, I hate the Realm Beyond and most recent changes, so it is obvious that this update would upset me.
My reaction is probably not the best metric to judge if an update was good or not.
It was more of a laugh mate. But everyone's tense with this one. There's no need to try and get a gauge on it; every aspect of the update seems to enrage the community collectively. This midchapter is a trainwreck.

@GeneralV said:
And this is not even the half of it. Everything about this update is #########, nothing is good. Nothing is right.
I cannot take this anymore. I can't.
And if our Freddy main themselves is upset with this update, then there this a mighty large issue with it.
-
The state of console play is absolutely abominable. We deserve to be able to at least PLAY a game that we PAID for, but no... here's another collection event instead!
-
Bot/AI matches do not exist in Dead by Daylight. You have to run a custom with a couple of mates or just practice in public games.
-
Something more 'niche' like Harry Warden from My Bloody Valentine or, now that I think of it, something like Rose the Hat from the Doctor Sleep movie (I don't know, that one's a longshot). Otherwise, definitely Candyman. Always wanted him.

Erm, not many. If you said Dead Hard instead I’d bet it would be a lot.
I've tweaked the title of the thread to encourage wider discussion. I guess my experience with complaints this month has been rather awkward, because I've been seeing 'DS is unfair' and 'Decisive Strike needs a rework' plopped here and there, again and again...

I see a DS post maybe once a week. People complain about Dead Hard/NOED almost daily because these are perks that haven't been touched in years.
Well I don't know how your browsing goes, but I've seen at least three or four in the last week. An absurd amount for a perk that has little to no achievable value in-game.

The reason we released the information is to advise Switch players not to expect an update today - so that they have advanced warning of it, which is in the interest of fairness.
I find it very difficult to believe that anyone would think we'd delay an update for "fun"
People believe a great deal of things when it comes to the way you guys handle everything involved in this game... I wouldn't find it 'difficult' to believe in the slightest... very, very believable.

The only reason DS is still relevant to me is because it works in endgame. If that wasn’t the case I’d be dropping it for something else.
Right on point. People will argue anything, yet I see DS as a relatively useless perk to play since its nerf.
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Are you stuck in the past or something? DS has been changed months ago.
Did you read my edit? Clearly not. If you haven't noticed around here, people complain about DS regardless. I've seen countless threads rambling on about this, or Dead Hard, or Sprint Burst... often the exact same argument as with NOED; 'a get out of jail free card' (which doesn't explicitly apply to all these perks anyway).
-
In the past -- somehow -- Billy, but otherwise, Demo. It's something about how I'm able to set up a portal system to entirely discourage gen rushing... yet it doesn't seem to go swell for me on any other map besides Hawkins.

Ok thanks yeah i wasn't sure cause i stopped playing just before the twin came out and just getting back into it. I came back for the 5th year event
But i did miss the game a lot and im glad to back
That's good... not too many of us are satisfied with the abhorrent state of the game at the moment. We'll see how long that lasts!

Whats fun about waiting in a lobby for 10 min to only get into a match thats over because your team didnt like the killer and dcs? Players have no penalty and are taking advantage of it
If you're talking from a strictly Survivor standpoint, perhaps, but from the Killer side... it is beneficial to overlook the fact that a game ends early. I don't think there should be a restrictive penalty from DCing every once in a while, because internet issues can apply to that, but perhaps implementing a refurbished penalty whereby repeated offences are punished is an absolute necessity right about now.

You know that DS was already nerfed?
Or do you mean from the people that want the change reverted?
@ChurchofPig said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2385262#Comment_2385262
I'm assuming from people who want the change reverted. Like "You're telling me you did not revert the change on DS so I can exploit it again? Oh my actual god I can't believe the devs aren't letting me sit on gens with my minute of defense anymore."
Yes, from people who prefer the (unbalanced) version prior to the nerf. I don't run DS myself when I play Survivor -- which is a rare event itself -- but it's funny how many threads exist on here simply spawned out of outrage for the 'state of DS'.
-
I'm not going to repeat what two others have already posted here, but yes, it's a consistent bug we've had a for a while now. Quite irritating.
-
Rule of thumb: Cakes + Bloodhunt = good.
-
Ok, cool. Goodbye :D
If you can't handle Survivors DCing, it means you don't realise it's probably because you're either doing really well or really poorly. Just have fun.
-
Post-patch, Survivors have to work on generators to fire up hooks and then proceed in an orderly fashion to the Killer's new 'eternal aura' (which can be seen from anywhere on the map) to be butchered and placed on their own individualised, named hook.
-
Monitor & Abuse and/or Sloppy Butcher.
I don't know. I main Doctor.
-
I said it with my (rather shoddy) Pinhead concept a while back, and I'll say it again. Pinhead would make a great Killer.
-
It needs a bit of a buff.
-
About $20 during my time on mobile beta testing (which I no longer play). I guess you could say around $60 if you include the fact that I picked it up off Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but otherwise just the $20 on mobile.
-
Simple.
I love Evil Dead, and I love Japanese shogunate history. So, easily you-know-who and you-know-who.
And while I love Scream, Stranger Things and A Nightmare on Elm Street, nothing can come close to the sheer looks of the Oni.
-
It is horrifying that a person would even be interested in a product like this. And people wonder where my despising of anime comes from...
-
You're sooking about more more detail in each character?
-
Charlotte just appears disgusting to me, and I couldn't care for both hers and Victor's stories and their gameplay...
-
Yet I can get three 4ks with Doctor and still not get a progression mark to get out of Rank 20 lol... a certainly unfair system.
But not that I'm complaining about being stuck at Rank 20 Killer (regardless of the fact that I'd be somewhere near 14, just based on the casual time I have)… Don't get me wrong, I still get pitched against Rank 1 or 2 Survivors -- because that's just how broken matchmaking is -- but God it's fun pulling 4ks while your profile is seemingly frozen at that '20'...
-
This game is not gut-stabbed by never-ending complaints on both the sides of the community, but instead almost exclusively by poor and blatantly abhorrent developer acknowledgement and addressing of monolithic issues at the game's core.

Not "nearly", the expression "two cents" literally means "opinion".

F13th was DOA. It lost a massive percentage of its population after just 4 months, long before the lawsuit. It sucked for most people.
In regular conversation, perhaps, but I find these are exceptional circumstances... this person is asking for opinions, yet rejecting them simultaneously... what?

The way I view dbd is different. As said before, I don't care what everyone else says, all I care about is the opinions. Because they are very informative. I really appreciate what you think about the all "competition" situation.
There we're many YouTube content creators talking about it and making it such a huge deal. And now that I know how the competition is viewed. I can finally settle down for once while I can just sit and enjoy the game.
Thank you all for your opinions. ^^
You don't care what other people have to say, yet you're avidly seeking opinions? Do you realise this is both insanely stupid and a complete contradiction of your own words? If you didn't care about the two cents of others, then why would you want their opinions? They're nearly wholly interchangeable.
-
Clearly you've never tried to run an A-tier Blight build before... not easy. Tinkerer is where it's at, I'm afraid...
-
What do you mean he 'isn't popular'? Candyman was, at many points, one of the top grossing slashers of all time... just because you have no experience with Horrors or slashers does not mean that something isn't popular...
-
People like you can't seem to quit complaining... it's always, 'This killer is broken!' or 'Too OP!'... just give it up. Wraith isn't even a spectacular killer by the player base. He'd just scrape the barrel of 'decent'.
-
I like to pretend Trickster doesn't exist. Anyway, I must have read 'licensed killers'. My point was still right; no two killer releases in the same month.

I mean you get some free stuff anyway. Like the only Bill outfit lol.
It isn't exactly 'free' when it demands your time and gives a simple-as-can-be reward...
-
Why would it? It's a boring disaster which demands your hard-earned cash every time it comes around. The game hardly even functions as it is. So no, why would it?
-
@KeiraKATANA said:
If the killer got a debuff for putting the same survivor into the injured or dying state consecutively / twice or more in a row, with the exception of the obsession, then it would motivate killers to try and go for other survivors, not just the same one over and over. This debuff could stack.
There would to be a way to discern the difference between survivors for when you have people using the same character/skin.
This is a horrendous idea. Tunnelling is not some game-breaking thing. Get over it.
-
DS already feels like a mid-tier perk with relatively slim applications, albeit I've seen it used otherwise... rendering it useless when the exits pop just seems a little overboard, especially given its usage at the moment, but what would I know? I've never ran it before.

Its simply Nonsense to be toxic to some random people who did nothing wrong in the first place. Someone who does this should not complain about getting teabagged for no reason, they are doing the same.
But who says that this person does that?

I would probably say that this is more of a chicken and egg thing where no one knows anymore which side started this "war" (Matrix anyone?).
Good observation. And I caught the reference like a fishing pole on a rock :)

How old are you? 4?
"Mooom, he started it!"... Doesnt matter who started it. Being a dick because someone was a dick to yourself is not the correct way. In the end, you are bad to someone who was not bad to you in the slightest, for no apparent reason.
I was not saying this is a blame-game; I simply stated that this thing has a beginning and no end, and it is not this person's fault that they were ensnared in this never-ending circle of aggressiveness. If you are somehow offended by -- or vulnerable because of -- that simple statement, then you either misconstrue points for ignorance's sake alone, or you are just that daft and/or dense that you take every comment, however insignificant and unrelated to yourself, to heart. Either way, you're seemingly attached to some idea that I was coming after you. You need to sort things out mate...
-
Mate, you're very all over the place with what you're looking for here. You asked for experienced kills initially, then when questioned as to what your definition of that is, you specified anybody able to give 'general' answers to proposed questions... virtually anybody who has had at least five games as a Killer could answer those sorts of questions. If you're looking for experienced players, you wouldn't even be going for anything related to game performance, either... you'd be looking for solid game hours. And, as many people have already reached out to you here and offered their services, I'm a little shaken that you are continually asking 'Who do you main?' as if it means ######### to what you were originally (and are continuing to) argue, which is for the opinions of 'experienced killers'. Get your priorities straight mate. You have a lot of opportunities here -- hell, @Pulsar themselves have graced your cause -- but you seem all over the shop and completely discontent with your own wants here. Get it sorted buddy.

Every post you said is completely true. Most survivors (not all) refuse to learn how to counter something or the even dumber route cry that is isn't fair that you have to use a perk to counter something that the killer can do. All I hear is "this is too strong nerf it" or survivors complaining about "rewards bad play/second chance perks" but hold on tightly to their meta build that is 3/4th second chance perks. There is nothing preventing any survivor to use any of the perks or items that counter something as stupid and simple as cleansing a totem. "Oh there isn't enough time to cleanse a tottem" excuse but yall waste how many seconds tea bagging a killer at the pallet or some stupid crap. I cannot tell you how many games I watch survivors follow the killer as he's chasing somebody else or just hiding behind a rock for nearly 30 seconds at a team multiple times but they come up with excuses that "there's no time to do bones".
People complaining that its uncounterable and you don't have time to cleanse a totem, how often are you on a hook and you see 3 other survivors in different parts of the map just urban evasioning? Or just crotched behind a tree or a rock? How often do you tea bag and click flashlights at killer or follow them in hopes of a pallet drop or flashlight save? There is plenty of time to find a totem. The devs made perks with designs you asked for to find totems and stuff and you still complain about having to find totems?
This game is filled with "I am bad going against this perk/killer so they need to be nerfed." For the love of god people just play the game learn how to counter and stop crying
Every single word of this is music to my ears. I couldn't agree more.

I used to get as frustrated as you are right now, but I then realized that at least 50 percent of my opponents are prepubescent hormonal spoiled brats that have never had to struggle for anything in their lives and that it isn't worth getting upset with their crying.
Case in point. I had some kid on PC messaging me on Xbox after he hopped on his own account to criticise me for being the 'wurse killur' (legitimately that unable to comprehend basic English, too) after I practiced Huntress for the first time in a cross-platform game, when, because I'm on console, the game was consistently freezing and lagging to the point where I could hardly even move. The team I was up against was a SWF group who constantly tea-bagged and body-blocked, yet, even in spite of my lagging and freezing, I hooked two of them twice and landed about seven solid cross-map hatchets out of the blue. Towards the endgame I just let them go, literally dancing around the map and standing there while they popped gens. Pretty obvious I was doing it, too.
But I'm apparently the 'wurse killur' for trying out a new one that I didn't end up liking, despite being friendly and beyond to their little communications team...

And than you are a dick to some players who just play nice. Yay.
Yet, by that, you yourself are ignoring the fact this whole vicious cycle began with a handful of toxic Survivors? The wheel spins infinitely, my friend.
