I hope no one was drinking water at the precise time they read this title.

Slam all the pallets down prematurely. Hide and do nothing and after you're 3 teammates are dead get the hatch.
-
Thanks for the update. Tell us how it goes. 3000 word essay, by Nov. 1st.
-
Great discussion thread. Keep it up. Very substantial. From what I can tell, someone is insulted he must look for and cleanse totems in order to not be afflicted by NOED. OP inspires the community to be not only better players, but better people. 💖

Sometimes when im bored I go around the map and slam all the pallets down prematurely. Then I hide, and when my 3 teammates are dead I use hatch to escape.

Old Freddy was the worst to play as and against. Playing Freddy felt bad, because Survivors could essentially turn him off at will. Playing against Freddy felt bad, because it was just a genuine slog. Imagine creating a character who has permanent wallhacks in a hunting game but still is the worst option available by far. I got into DBD to play as and against Freddy, tried to, and then dropped the game entirely for years I was so disappointed.
I do miss the old Freddy. I wouldnt want the changes reverted, but I like putting people to sleep and slugging and juggling multiple people. You had to play differently when you played with Freddy. He's not optimal to win, but I didnt care. I just liked his style.
-
That's what I dislike about this game. It throws new players under the bus. So many players have been lost because they just didnt wanna deal with the grind of getting good perks to survive and they get slaughtered because matchmaking is broken. I say give brand new accounts 3 free perks.

"Husk" system? Never heard of it. You mean,
noun
the enveloping or outer part of anything, especially when dry or worthless.

Look, they hyped it up, they were excited, it's unfortunate something like that happened.. They are more disappointed than we are.
Unfortunate for them, ya. Im having a great time beeping all over them.

Perfect idea. While we’re at it, maybe tune up the dedicated servers? :P
I was planning on kicking the power supply to the servers so Matthieu and the DBD team would have to do gen repairs.
@[Deleted User] said:
I heard this had to do with the company having a power outage. Maybe next time they'll use backup generators instead of starting from scratch again.
rofl omg They are doing gen repairs! Someone at Acme Oil Inc. is running Hex Ruin.

Halloween is your biggest EVENT in the game and you guys are the only game that doesn't have an event going on? Every year there has been an EVENT what kind of bullshit is this? Someone should be fired for whoever messed this up!
Yes! You're just saying what everyone's thinking! Let's go, boys! *pitchforks, fire, angry mob*

I read everything and agree 100%. I welcome you to make more threads filled with your brimming thoughts. Thumbed up.

You guys laugh, but the Spanish Inquisition was real.

Im level 14 Survivor so naturally I get a lot of DC's. I say around 15-20%.
-
What platform, what times do you play, and what rank are you?
-
Why not announce a Halloween event, and delay it indefinitely with only 3 more days to go till Halloween is over.

If you're spamming a mori at someone with the intention to grief them then it's bannable - we'd need video evidence.
Quite simply, just don't mori spam and you won't have any issue.
I thought you guys had fixed this. Well, once you get to fixing this years old problem, let us know. Otherwise you're doing a pretty good job.

On means you cannot go past tier 1 and the other one helps when you get to tier 3. You can't tell me that it was high intelligence being shown
Dude had a good plan, probably. He's just too high on the blimp for us meta-sheep to understand his genius.

Yup. This is just another example of BHVR's poor judgement.

You were hit fair and square.

Sounds awesome.

I don't know the significance of said addons. Can someone please tell me if OP is calling that Myers player a halfwit. And if so, it's not very nice!

I think this is a good idea and should be implemented. You may have people disagree with you in your thread, but my opinion is especially of great importance.

Ok...?
A lot of discussions are on small things that don't really impact that game that much... Toxicity isn't the massive issue within the game itself... but it's still an issue.
I'm sorry I didn't focus on NOED, Spirit, The Nurse's nerf, or 100 more of the other posts that're caught in an echo chamber...
Oh no, I will not be baited into obscene language against another persons, sire. You, sire, are an exceptionally well-read, well-to-do fellow with the graciousness of your words only equal to our greatest thespians and Mother Theresa. While I have read your post — immaculately conceived, brilliant, unrivaled by any mere commoner — I have taken it upon myself to not acknowledge the topic, yet offer good tidings in the ritual of my daily klonopin pill. Cheers to you! Hip, hip, hooray!
-
I hope so. If it can be balanced around SWF's all taking part in it at the same time, I say yes. That useless Hangman's Trick will be buffed, but in the end, the Survivors score another power balance victory.
-
Premonition + Spine Chill + Lightweight + that Quiet Meg perk. Just run away every time. I like playing the game where I dont see the Killer ever. Then I get the hatch at the end when everyone is dead.
-
Feral Frenzy should be a two hit down like any other Killer. That way, Survivors will learn their lesson.
-
@Satsui said:
Or you know, you can play without tunneling / camping with a nurse that has 3 blinks and noed.
lol just saying.
When survivors promote their own death by initiating actions that are conducive to tunneling and camping, then it's the right call.
-
I dont play on PC. Is there an option to disable end game chat? I suppose the easiest thing to do is to just not look at it, if not. And no, they're not gonna share stats because BHVR will never, ever be transparent to a stat-inquiry on the forums, ever.
-
You honestly put way too much thought into this.
-
I wish PS4 had endgame chat. I am not adverse to acrimony.

Voice chat doesn't mean people play like an SWF.
SWF aren't strong just because of voice chat it's becasue they are a group of friends who know how each other play and coordinate well together.
This rarely happens in pug groups.
Voice chat hinders the game more than adds to it. It becomes more elitist and anyone not on their level becomes a target for ridicule.
Then there is those who will question why peoole do x instead of y questioning how they wish to play the game.
Then There are regions where people speak multiple languages. People tend to only think of their own country when it comes to this idea.
People screaming down the mic is just one aspect of why it's a bad idea. To say people have to grow a spine is quite frankly rude and highly inconsiderate as some may have trauma from life experiences. People use games as an escape as well as fun. Everyone's mind is different and that should always be respected.
DBD has been bought by many on the pretence it has no in game voice chat like others games in the genre. If you buy a product you should always be informed of what you are purchasing and accept it for how it is.
Everything that you just said is absolutely negated by having the option to not join voice chat, while others want to. And if they do, they can still mute. Your argument is objectively invalid by a feature that almost all games with a voice chat has.
-
Maybe play Claudette? Hide in a locker for just under a minute; makes sure the Killer goes after someone else first. I endorse suboptimal play so long as you have more fun.
-
@Peanits said:
Not everyone wants voice chat with strangers. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I usually turn it off when I'm playing online games these days. It's just not worth it. Half the time you get someone who leaves their mic open the whole time as they listen to music in the background, argue with their mother about cleaning their room, or talk with a friend (not realizing or caring that everyone can hear them). Even if you don't, usually everything's peachy until someone starts dying, and then they turn on you and start screaming over the mic.
If I couldn't opt out, I just wouldn't play survivor anymore. And I can opt out, you're already missing the point of adding it (you have no idea if the person you're talking to can even hear you).
If you want to use it with friends, go for it, we won't stop you. But talking with friends and talking with strangers are two different things. Your friends aren't going to throw a fit, get mad at you and start throwing the match when things don't go their way.
Right, but they would have the option so they choose. BHVR takes away their option for them. Leaving voice chat in is objectively better due to the option to simply turn it off. There isn't any room for any other interpretation that this is a bad decision based on BHVR saying, "We'll decide for you" when something is completely optional. "Leaves their mic open the whole time as they listen to music ... " is such an embarrassing excuse considering a basic mute function when otherwise there are and would be people that are enjoyable to talk with while playing. The more I understand how BHVR thinks, the more I come to the conclusion that there is no bottom to the level of how stupid you think we are.

I think the late event start date was always risky to begin with. If there are a few issues needing resolved and the next update is really close then it's always gonna be tight timing to fix stuff and release the update.
It will definitely come before halloween itself. I just always have the idea that halloween events for all games should ideally start early October.
Everyone's mad at the Devs but honestly just be a little more patient and the event will be just around the corner.
Quit defending these guys. The average worker does not get as much slack from their bosses as BHVR does from their fans. BHVR has shown a consistent lack of regard for deadlines, and when something is released/patched — always — something goes wrong or the work is shoddy. If BHVR is a one person employee working at a project under the supervision of a middle manager, he would be reprimanded and eventually fired by now due to incompetence.

DS is a stupid, immersive-breaking perk anyway. It promotes circling around your prey for about a minute, usually at the end of a game, before you pick them up. Very boring when a counter to a perk is to camp a dying survivor.
-
I personally agree with the go ahead on your first sentence.
-
Don't tell me how to play.

No update tomorrow sadly. @Dr_Loomis
We haven't shared a date yet for the Mid-chapter update but the event was announced for the 22nd so we had to announce the delay today. We ran into a few issues which forced us to delay the release of the event to the Mid-chapter release. (ETA still unannounced)

Precisely. You fulfilled 75% of your duty. 75% is above average; thus, above average equals ranking higher. If everyone on that team gets a one hook death, then that's their fault. You shouldnt be punished for it for having a "lack of chases" or "lack of destruction points."
-
It's one of those perks that's dependent upon another perk ancillary to its potential. It can't stand well on its own, just like Franklin D. Roosevelt.

I wouldn't mind the removal of the timer as a killer provided these changes are added to it.
- DS has a infinite time limit.
- DS actives on both unhooks even if used prior. Failure to hit the skill check will deactivate the perk for the remainder of the trail. Skill check is bigger by about 5% to accommodate this risk
- DS deactivates until your next unhook whenever another survivor becomes hooked and or unhooked.
- Only one DS will be active at a time.
- If your the last survivor in the trial DS automatically becomes deactivated.
- DS has priority meaning no actions by the killer, so if downed at the unhook you will be able to use DS regardless.
- Killer who is hit by DS will have the stun penalty increased by 1.5 second for every DS successfully used on them in the trial. (Max of a 10 second stun on the 4th DS strike successfully used.)
This way I feel DS becomes a true anti tunneling perk. People who dont tunnel wont be affected by it and those who are toxic can't abuse the time limit and force a DS out of someone. Wont encourage the slugging tactic either.
Are you guys reading this? I mean, really reading this?

I raised the same issue; I got no response from Dev's. And this would require competence, so im sorry.

I hate this so much. EVERY SINGLE TIME. If I'm hooked I finally get to see what everyone else was doing while I was doing gens. Someone is in the basement (not even looting the chest) just in the basement for no reason, someone is urban evasion-ing around the outskirts of the map, or they can't even be seen because they are STILL in the FREAKING locker even though BBQ expired ages ago...
Hey man, you can't be too careful.

Total newbies we’re being paired with red ranks and purple ranks, and quite expectedly we’re having a completely miserable time and hated the game.
So what's your excuse for not carrying your team to victory? Oh that's right, you're just as prone to mistakes as everyone else. Well lemme tell you something, Christopher Columbus didn't come to America to give small pox to everyone and then they died.

One time I dribbled someone who had d-strike to his hook and he DC'ed. It was one of my proudest DBD moments. *sniff, sniff*
