We can make as many petitions concerning licensed characters as we want on the Dead By Daylight forums, but unfortunately it's always up to the licensed holders, not BHVR. (in this case, Valve.)

We might have better luck asking Valve to approach BHVR on the matter, rather than asking BHVR to approach the silent juggernaut Valve on the matter.

But then again, Valve doesn't do anything anymore no matter how much anyone asks.. so I really don't know. I think we might just be screwed concerning Valve properties.

This, and if I am going to harass Valve about anything it will be about Left 4 Dead 3.

  • Doubtful. As to get the license you'd have to give money to the pedophile that created him.

  • I think (don't remember where I heard it) that Laurie & Michael are this week. And the Day of the Dead outfits for David, Jane, Frank, and Suzie will be on the actual day of the dead in November. So those are the next 2 sets.

  • Never as survivor.

EVERY SINGLE DOWN, EVERY SINGLE HOOK as GhostFace just pure revenge for 3 years of watching survivors do it.

  • All of them, literally all of them. If you are good with that killer then you will still be good with them at rank 1. The only X killer is good in red ranks crowd is full of it.

I've 4k'd with everyone but Nurse and Spirit at red ranks because I suck with them, ironically half the community will tell you they are the only good killers, lol.

It releases on the 22nd along with the Halloween update, this is confirmed because the devs have said that you will earn the putrid serum through the free track of the rift, which is a part of the archives.

While it's like 99% likely it's not "confirmed" as serum being in the Rift doesn't mean anything. As the serum will be in the Rift for it's entire duration.

  • I'm aware. The no was in reference to the topic title "IS THERE AN OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE" and no, the devs haven't said when the Archives are coming. But it's probably in the mid chapter patch on the 22nd. Yes, Tuesday.

  • No. But, it will probably be on the 22nd with the Withered Blight update.

  • If we got anyone from 2 I'd prefer Ellis.

This must be a PC thing or something bc the only change in matchmaking for me ( on xbox ) is I get killer lobbies faster at night and faster survivor lobbies at day.

What rank are you? I'm rank 6 and my matchmaking is all over the spectrum on Xbox.

It’s probably due to losing HEAPS of players from the mm debacle at the Stranger Things release.

So the pool of survivors is smaller perhaps?

I wasn't here for that. What happened?

  • @Rizzo90

Can I have a private conversation, it's important. Please.

  • @DesiringEagle75 said:

It can be hard. So much so that I wonder if I'm trying to escape from the killer or my teammates. A little band-aid I've used is be the Gen Jockey and let your teammates do the saving and getting chased. Nothings worse than when you're on the hook and you see your whole team crouching by waiting to rescue you or everybody running around doing squat nothing. Pretty much what I'm saying is Kindred is you're best friend.

I hate this so much. EVERY SINGLE TIME. If I'm hooked I finally get to see what everyone else was doing while I was doing gens. Someone is in the basement (not even looting the chest) just in the basement for no reason, someone is urban evasion-ing around the outskirts of the map, or they can't even be seen because they are STILL in the FREAKING locker even though BBQ expired ages ago...

  • I don't think he needs a buff per se. I think his teleport shouldn't give an alert universally but that's about it.

  • I kind of like him where he is. He is still completely unique to Dead by Daylighy since he's the only killer who can multidown. I've never felt him being weak. I don't think any of the killers are weak anymore personally.

Freddy imo was the last TRULY weak killer and now he's golden in my opinion.

  • I like playing on Xbox. Just wish they'd fix tue infinite loading screens and NAT errors. Other than that I love the Xbox more than PC.

  • So many kids, wow. I'm getting old if the "who?" answer on Elvira is number 1.

  • I get one of 2 teams.

First team, literal mongoloids with gen allergies. God forbid they touch a gen lol. And if there is a Ruin totem it becomes a game of hide & seek for them while I loop the killer because of course I'm the first one found because I'm the only one that was on a gen.

Second team, navy seals who do every gen in 2 minutes flat. And we are out the gate with like only 9k bp.

Its always either 4 die or 4 escape now.

  • I would LOVE it. As a dude who grew up watching B movies on her Movie Macabre show I would fanboy out.

I would also like to see Tor Johnson as a Killer and Vampira as a survivor.

But yeah please bring on Elvira. The license can't be very expensive.

But we have so many franchises to still pull from

HELLRAISER: Pinhead, Chatterer as killers & Kirstie as survivor (why not have 2 killers in a chapter since ST got 2 survivors?)

JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING: The Thing as killer & Kurt Russell as survivor.

FRIDAY THE 13TH: Jason as killer & Tommy as survivor

IT: Pennywise as killer & Bill as survivor

THE NUN: the Nun as killer

    CARRIE: Carrie as killer

THEY LIVE: Roddy Piper (Rudy) as survivor

PUMPKINHEAD: Pumpkinhead as killer & Lance Henriksen as survivor

RESIDENT EVIL: Nemesis as killer & Jill as survivor

    31: Doomhead as killer

3 FROM HELL/DEVIL'S REJECTS/HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CORPSES: any combination of Otis, Spaulding, and Baby

CREEPYPASTA: Slenderman, Rake, Jeff the Killer as killers

FIVE NIGHT'S AT FREDDY'S: Springtrap as killer & Jeremy Fitzgerald as survivor

    BLADE: Blade as a survivor

    CANDYMAN: Candyman as killer

URBAN LEGENDS: Bloody Mary & The Boogieman as killers

THE WALKING DEAD: Rick & Michonne as survivors

    Not at all.

Killers is easily playable without ruin. How well you can do is down to your own personal skill and knowledge and for strong players it becomes all too easy much like with some survivor perks.

It's why many perks are seen as a crutches as they raise people's expectations and without them they can't do half as well.

A perk is never needed and when it starts to become that way I personally want to remove it from my build as I feel it makes me a worse player overall.

This. I only use Ruin when I don't feel like having a sweat.

I've played so long without it now, it can feel like over kill when I do use it.

  • Survivors are predictable (usually).

A few tips to make you life easier without Ruin.

Don't chase into time wasting loops. If a survivor heads toward a place like the Iron Works window for instance let them go. It's going to eat too much time chasing in that loop. If you are Trapper or Hag trap that friggin' window literally as the trial starts. (Also trap your shack on every match you'd be surprised how many players still fall for these even in red ranks after 3 years lol)

NEVER respect pallets ALWAYS swing through, no joke 75% of survivors drop them too late. I'll gladly eat stun for even a chance of hitting you.

There are other ways to slow down gens. Thanataphobia is a beast on killers like Plague, Billy, GhostFace, and Legion who always have multiple injured survivors. Sloppy Butcher is a ######### and can really slowdown survivors. Either take forever to heal or you get much shorter chases since they chose not to heal. Pop Goes The Weasel sets gen progression back by a ton.

Freddy can scare people off of gens just by pretending to teleport to it.

Demogorgon's tunnels are great combined with Pop Goes The Weasel. You can hook someone then regress a gen that was miles away. (It's also good for getting Devour Hope Stacks and Make Your Choice triggers.

  • I don't know if I'd say unplayable... but it's significantly less fun and more frustrating.

  • BBQ & Ruin are two of the easiest perks to counterplay.

Think the killer has BBQ? Hide in a locker or behind a gen. Simple. (Though now you probably got your buddy camped because BBQ is one of the few reasons to leave a hook)

If the killer has Ruin just power through it. Even not hitting Hex Checks is significantly faster (typically) than running around looking for the cleanse. Or you can cleanse the totem at which point you are facing a 3 perk killer.

Probably the EASIEST perks to counter play around. Are they strong? Hell yeah they are! But both are easily played around (which is the entire point of perks).

  • Yep, I miss the old days. It used to feel like the devs were on our side and cared about the community and the game. Ever since the third anniversary they've abandoned us.

It feels like most of the devs are done with DbD and just want to move on to a new project. Everytime they talk about DbD now it sounds like a chore, like they are housekeeping it just enough to keep money coming on. The Rift pass is going to allow them to do that even more.

Before anyone gets angry with me. These are my personal feelings on the matter. Feelings I hope are eventually proven wrong.

    NoeD rewards failure

    Adrenaline rewards success

DS rewards failure, but punishes tunneling.

If someone wanted to say they did good they would run Devour Hope which Rewards success. If someone actually thinks they did good when they use NoeD and used it to secure a 4k because they couldn't do it before that gen. Then honestly they lost.

Fair enough, every hatch escape via key is a loss, every escape due to adrenaline/ds is a loss, every escape due to blind is a loss.

NOED is just a second chance perk. I have won many games without it. My adept killer achievements verify this. But I'd still rather have it in my back pocket in case I mess up. Just like I'm sure survivors like have their "oops i screwed up" perks.

But the thread is about Ruin and BBQ so I'm going to leave it alone now.

TL;DR = NOED is just a second chance perk.

I would suggest you try other perks man your missing so many good ones. Of the listed perks you provided 3 of those are only good in low ranks because people still dont heal much in upper ranks in my experience. Blood Warden is easily countered by 99% the gate wait for a hook and then open it. NoeD imho is rarely seen more like a rare treat. Also it's a great perk used primarily by bad killers.

PGTW and Ruin. Are the strongest 2 perks you listed. Though BBQ is incredibly good for farming Blood Points any good killer will know Rotation and Pathing of survivors so outside of Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Huntress, Freddy no other killer should use it outside farming BP'S.

In all instances of perks Thrilling Tremors far outclasses BBQ in providing Gen denial, Where Survivors you actually care about are, Where you need to go immediately, and helps stop the game from progressing for 16 seconds while you are attempting to hook people. BBQ&C tells you X amount of people are at x locations and you get a stack.

Please don't take offense to this because it's not directed at you (there are lots of players who think like you do about NOED.) But it's just a second chance perk. Are survivors who run Self Care, Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, or Adrenaline bad survivors?

All of those perks exist for the same reason to undo mistakes. Calling killers bad for running NOED is unfair unless you judge everyone for using mistake eraser perks.

  • If there were better perks ppl would use them there are like 8 TRULY great perks for killers.

    RUIN

    BBQ & CHILI

    NOED

    SLOPPY BUTCHER

    NURSE'S CALLING

    POP GOES THE WEASEL

    THANATAPHOBIA

    BLOOD WARDEN

The rest are either great (but only when combined with an above perk), situational, or just worthless.

I'd like to see the worthless and situational perks get buffs.

  • I know I can come off critical sometimes. But I do love you guys. Years of smiles and fun especially from Mathieu, not_queen, Patricia, Stefan, & Dave...

God I miss the weekly streams. You guys were so much fun.

And thank you to everyone on the team I don't know everyone's names but thank you guys.

And thank you to Rizzo & MandyTalk & Peanits for keeping he forums clean and fun.

that saw is not easy to juke especially on servers. the cone is massive and the auto aim needs to be toned down, iv seen billy snap 45-90 degrees on loops locking on to either pallets or people who are clearly around objects, he needs tweaks and saying other wise is lack of experience

Wrong. A single video from "he who shall not be named but it begins and ends in O" proves otherwise, noob3 proves otherwise, and Tru3Ta1lent proves otherwise. Billy is not hard to juke.

  • I'd hate to get banned after all the money I've spent on this game (over 300 dollars) just because I was accused of cheating. People accuse others of cheating all of the time (and it's rarely true) it's often just people upset over something silly.

  • It's really not that bad. I think I've died once on Hawkins as survivor.

🙄 most video games that have challenges or story bits to unlock have harder skill level challenges to earn that challenge reward. Sometimes you have to play a style you don’t like to complete the challenge or reacher higher. So your ARGUMENT IS NOTHING BUT A LAZY ATTEMPT TO BLOW SMOKE.

Most games challenges don't require other players to let you do them. Good luck, buddy.

  • @HeroLives said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/771742#Comment_771742

Okay no need to be sour at me Bc you don’t want to work for extra free stuff. Or you feel like you can’t do some of the challenges and think it’s bs. Do you also cry for not getting all character endings for mortal kombat Bc you can only beat the boss with a few characters due to your lack of versatility?Nooo you pick up cyrax and you learn their moves until you can beat the boss. Sit down.

    Lol what?

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

.... wow.... why do the Devs even put up with this community?

We all enjoy this game, they give it to us. Be at least a bit grateful...

*voice is drowned out by all the complaining and people that won't try and look at it any way but there's*

    *theirs

I'm very grateful. I hate all of these strawman arguments against people who have legitimate numerical MATHEMATICAL issues with the challenges and grind.

I'm so sick of being strawmanned and seeing others strawmanned for very visible issues concerning the Rift progression rate.

Maybe you guys are so new to DbD that you don't remember when the devs had weekly streams addressing concerns in the community. But us veteran players do.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

Then don't tbag, BM, and taunt everyone else.

Also, hit behind wall, behind rocks.... can I see proof of that?

Also, he is quite loopable. Be careful of straight lines.

He's referring to vaults lol. As if you shouldn't be able to get hit through a vault as if it's some magic invisible barrier that killers can't attack over.

  • I might upset some ppl. But Hillbilly is the most overrated killer in Dead by Daylight.

Can he move around quick? Sure. But after you get out of new player ranks you'll see his saw is pretty easy to juke. The only scary Hillbilly is Driftbilly because he has more control. Billy might be the easiest killer to 360. Honestly I'm slapped by Billy way more than sawed.

  • @HeroLives said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/771721#Comment_771721

Yeah I’m not upset about any of that, Bc again it’s free. You can pick and choose what you want to do. You can buy it or not and just do the free option. I don’t see a downside to earning free stuff through play time. Two flashlight saves aren’t hard with the right build. 4 basement hooks aren’t hard with an insidious killer. It might take a few matches but that’s why it’s a MASTER CHALLENGE

    Lol, sure bud.

  • @justarandy said:

I think it wasn't even a live stream but prerecorded and just played.

No Foolin'? You mean Dave can't magically disappear?

  • @HeroLives said:

No, Bc I like free stuff and more content.

Literally NO ONE. Not one person has a problem with the content. It's absurdity of challenges like "get 2 flashlight saves in a single trial" or "hook all 4 survivors in the basement in a single trial" and how incredibly slowly it takes to gain passive fragments.

No one is upset at the price, that is a strawman.

No one is upset at more content, that is a strawman.

The bang for your buck is there.

  • How many webs did you go through to collect 15? Be honest.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Both sides are just as guilty.

Not really. Both sides are guilty, yes. But not equally.

  • Have you guys considered they are running them this long while they can to get as much info as they can since they probably arent going to run them during the rift?

  • Even Paulie Esther (who I love but let's be honest is a bit of a suck up to BHVR who I also love btw) has admitted the challenges are too hard/luck based and the time is a bit much.

  • More than a little. None of the community's questions or concerns were adressed.

It was a 20 minute commercial.

I miss the old streams. What happened to not_queen and Stefan Horvath?

  • @Quol said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/771526#Comment_771526

Im not saying im against the dedi server per say im just wondering where the tipping point is. If there was a timeline that explains how things are going to be made better or a deadline where they are going to fix it or remove it then thats one thing. If they are just going to flip a switch and ask us to bear with it while they fumble around thats another.

How can they know when they'll be fixed without data to work from? Lol.

And if they gave an estimate a significant number of players would leave until the estimated date. Which would give false data. And when the date came the servers may not be able to handle the stress because they got inaccurate data because of a lower player count.

Just, have some patience my dude.

  • @Cetren said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/771526#Comment_771526

I didnt ask for them at all. My experience in generally has been massively downgraded consistantly by the servers. I just want them to be disabled so I can go back to not rubber banding in a first person perspective and having my grabs autocancel. I didn't want them, didn't need them, and I still have to put up with them. It starts to add up every game for a few weeks. That's just a frustrating experience in general. And it doesn't end until the servers do. Just my two cents.

Conveniently it seems no one asked for them apparently. Guess my memory is bad. I guess I dreamed about all those complaints begging for dedicated servers.

  • @SpacingLlamas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/771526#Comment_771526

Not every player asked for them.

And the only reason we probably got them to me is because the Nintendo switch version them has to have it to be playable on that platform.

Not cause the devs wanted to satisfy the players needs

Not how I remember it. I remember thousands of angry posts from salty players whining because they lost a match because of P2P and how the devs are just cheapskates who refuse to pay for servers to give the players good games. Please don't try to rewrite history.

  • @Quol said:

I feel like its in part to see if the outrage can die down. If the game/profit can withstand the player rage for a couple weeks will people just move on and accept? Just a thought though.

Its a balancing act, the servers are meant to upgrade the experience, but how long/much of the player experience are they will to ruin in order to make sure that they can improve the player experience.

It's having the opposite effect on me. I was fine with them before, but now all the little "quirks" are starting to add up and become aggravating.

We ASKED for the dedicated servers. Stop putting it on the Devs. The game was BUILT for P2P not dedicated. OF COURSE there will be kinks to iron out making such a big change. Just be patient.

It's crazy how many ppl are mad about something the players harassed the devs for.
