  • I've always questioned why they decided to do an entire year of work for new content when their current content is not the quality standards that it should be.

It's almost as if they have too much on their hand and I assume, with the possibility that I'm wrong, that DLCs are prioritize due to the income it brings in. Meanwhile, a Freddy rework that's been in the works for too long or atleast thought about for too long, DS changes, and more quality-changes they could be focusing are postponed because of the sheer amount of work they have.

    Just my two-cents.

If you could put your information on that thread, with regards to the issue that would be great to help solve this issue for everyone.

In the meantime, please check your graphics drivers. I agree with @EntityDispleased removing them with DDU is the best option to get a clean install, and probably don't use one of the very newest drivers as they seem not to be optimised for older cards.

    Hi Mandy,

I'm unable to figure out how to do so. If you could point me in the right direction to either how to, or where to find out how to do so would be great.

  • Or you could all say bye in a positive manner. @Zavri @BeanieEnthusiast

I hope someday this game will bring the fun you were always expecting to had. I think the sheer amount of negativity on this forum speaks for itself when it comes to this game, and it may not be for everyone.

Cheers man, and we appreciate your run with DbD. Have a good one mate.

If you want any recommendations for some amazing RPGs, or MOBAs, since it's what I play other than DBD, just mention me in a comment here and I'll dump you a list and see what you find.

Why does ur game looks so different? U did some changes in engine.ini or Nvidia settings? That's definetly not how the new engine looks like, even at low and 0% resolution quality  Absolutely touched nothing, this is how the game loaded in (at all times) once 2.4.0 patched.

It's an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti.

I'm not too familiar with techy things, so I'm not sure what the effects are of downgrading my GPU if it'd effect any other main games I play (Smite, and Borderlands). I'm also not exactly sure how to. Any help on that would be appreciated.

No worries man, appreciate any help given.

The 560 ti can run gta v at normal-high settings at 70-80 fps so I don't see why you're getting such performance. I've noticed similar performance and visual bugs when I uninstalled my physX drivers. You should try using DDU and re-installing your drivers

I'm really dumb when it comes to tech talk - I'm in school to become a Nurse! Lol.

    How can I do this?

560 Ti is better than mine, so we should be able to get dbd running good again on ur pc. Meanwhile, can u check what Nvidia driver version you have installed? It should be listed in system where u can uninstall programs

I have dxdiag up, a place where it says Drives beside Device. (Where I found info of my Graphics Card)

It says the version is 23.21.13.8813

    It also mentions a date (10/26/2017 19:00:00)

Some of that doesn't add up. You have to actively try extremely hard not to pip as a survivor.

    I hate hearing this.

You know, I forcefully have to find the Killer and initiate a chase JUST so I can pip. It's frustrating and annoying, and even more annoying when you're either being chased all game, OR doing a M1/RB Simulator all game.

This whole "you have to try to depip" stuff is so inaccurate. If you curbstomp a bad killer, you will most likely safety pip. Sometimes even depip if nobody gets hooked.

Emblem system is broken period. Always thought the point system (Victory Cube) was better.

Sorry but you're just wrong here. Even if the killer is trash and you just M1 and get out, you will still pip. I don't ever actively seek the killer out and have never had issues pipping, I'm not sure where you're getting this.

Everything I said is accurate, you will not pip as a survivor if all 4 of your mates completely destroy a Killer and nobody gets downed. Not saying you will always blackpip, but you won't get higher than a safety pip unless you get Ird. Lightbringer (Objective pts.) and a decent chaser. Which, can be hard to get if the killer sucks so bad he can't even find you lol

and most times this leads me to forcing chasing, so I can pip, and I don't enjoy having to force them and say to the Killer, "Hey, I'm over here. Helllllo!!!!" just so I can get points.

While this is obviously not the scenario everytime, it does happen. You can't say it doesn't.

Here's how we buff distortion and handle the locker aura reading change in one.

Bake the locker aura reading into the new Distortion survivor perk as a passive on it and if they use the locker to block an aura reading it won't consume one of their tokens. At least this would make it so it would cost them a perk slot if they really hated aura perks, abilities, etc. Now those 3 tokens will only be needed when you get caught out and weren't expecting it but you can reliably use the locker.

    Dude, I LOVE THAT idea.

Controller works just fine. Been using a controller on DbD for over 2,000 hours (PC) and i'd say the only real struggle would be Huntress and I guess arguably Nurse. Not certain on Nurse because I haven't really bothered to try her out.

I would suggest using Steam Big Picture to have your Right Stick emulate a Mouse if you're finding the in-game controller sensitivity doesn't go high enough.

    Wait, you can do THAT?

    Yes, I thought so

It's unattractive to play a game where no textures render, your game is lagging due to dropping in FPS. It's borderline an unplayable state.

The problem is that the Devs try to balance the game somewhere in the middle.
Trying to ease it on the low ranks and in the same process make it worse for the high ranks.
While low rank survivor get it slightly better, the high rank killer get it much worse.
Competitive Pvp games need to get balanced top down. That's how EVERY other game is doing it. I do no other game beside Dbd that is doing it otherwise.

This IS NOT a strictly competitive based game, and the devs have made that so-clear.

We need to stop expecting a level of competitiveness that we see in DOTA or League - We need to compare it to other games with player-made leagues. The game isn't going to balance around your competitve desire, they want to also cater to people who play this afterwork or after they put their kids to bed, ontop of also trying to satisfy us no-life Rank 1s.

It's difficult. Cut them some slack.

I hate to say it but as long as DS and Adrenaline are in the game NOED needs to stay.

You can't make NOED weaker when you go up against a team of 4 all carrying those.

DS is getting reworked and Adrenaline is balanced since the survivor sacrificed a perk for the late game in my opinion.

Disagree, especially since a lot of SWF all run the perk. Thay's why you see one sat right on the last gen as you walk right up to them, because they know as soon it it pops they're all getting a health boost.

Now tell me, other than perhaps say Billy if the entire team is alive and they all get an instaheal once the last gen pops how the hell am I meant to counter that?

What am I meant to do with Wraith? With 20 seconds to take out 4 people with full health?

At least if 2 were injured you could maybe get 2 hooks out of it.

You counter it by not letting all 5 gens pop.

  • @Peanits said:
You technically can't. As you said, with fast vaults, you land a significant distance away from the window. At that point you are beyond the killer's reach. What's happening there is just latency. The killer (on their end) swung at a time when you were still in range. Fast vaults move you a big distance in a very short amount of time, so on your end, you can be totally in the clear, but just a fraction of a second before you were vulnerable. That fraction of a second is all it takes due to latency.

It's something that can't really go away. The only real solution is to remove latency, but the only way to do that is to physically have the two players move closer to each other in the real world. You can try to compensate for latency, but doing so will sway things one way or the other. Doing so would end up with killers often getting no registration on their hits because on the survivor's end they were already safe.

I'm pretty sure dedicated servers will decrease the chances of this happening (assuming everyone has decent Wi-Fi). Am I wrong?

  • @Nickenzie
I like your idea, but fundamentally NOED shouldn't be changed. I think it's fine.

I've always just suggested buffing Small Game to show you how many totems on the map are left as if it were stacks, but starting at 5 and decreasing everytime a totem is destroyed. (edit: I like the fact though you can get completely screwed over by NOED, or not even have it proc at all. It creates a good "table turn" environment.)

Nice read though, love your posts.

The Cursed Status Effect needs to go, except for people in ranks 16 & lower.

There's no reason for any of this happen, even what the OP has said.

I'm all for lack of knowledge, confusion, and having to predict things instead. But the status ailments are not the place to create such environment.

Huntress Lullaby is excluded because it's also been recognized to the devs that its alert to when you are cursed is inaccurate (it shows up before tokens)

    1. Ruin. You know if Ruin is there once you start working on a generator, the Cursed status effect only happens once the curse has been applied (A skillcheck on a generator - literally no symbol shows up until)
Sooo, what would getting rid of the status effect do? I'm still gonna be aware there's a curse y'know til i hear the BOOOFFFFF
    2. Devour Hope, Make Your Choice, NoED, if NONE of these went off as status ailments with a symbol on your screen, it'd be exposed status effects EXTREMELY STRONG when they are already at a balanced state. It allows the Survivor to know when they are at extreme risk which I could say, if you're using a perk to make their enviroment that way (MYC. Punished for unhooking a Survivor) then the said survivor should be alerted when they are given a status effect. It's a video game, it's sensible.

Survivors should know when they are being effected by a perk, the Killer does too. (Just my opinion)

They should be aiming for every killer to at least be viable at rank 1. Right now there are quite a few who aren't and they don't seem to have improved on this.

Haven't the developers even said on livestream that they don't want every killer to be balanced around rank 1 plays?
Now that's a design choice that I cannot find logical.

    I disagree, to an extent.

This is not Overwatch, Smite, League, or any kind of competitive-focused game. While balance is a priority in an asymmetrical game, it's illogical to balance every single thing (like these games with leagues and a HUGE competitive scene) around the highest level of play.

If it's not competitive focused, it's logical to make sure all of your playerbase gets accommodated to, from a business standpoint also.

This not an e-sports game. It's something you pick up for your teenage child or if you're just interested in it yourself, and of course some people are going to grind the hell out of it, or play it mostly, and become really good. But fortunately, the entire playerbase does not do that. You cannot offset beginners with having Killers really, really hard for them either. Given how inefficient the Rank system is too.

In my personal opinion, it would be nice to have a new killer designed to be viable in higher ranks more often. It's not hard to learn the game anyway.

But, why does everyone put Nurse at the highest tier? She's based on predicted movement and it's easy to mindgame her blinks. The longest chases I have are with Nurses (and I'm talking about well-playing Nurses)

All of my teammates go down in seconds, so I can kinda see why everyone puts her there, but she's easy to counter simply by having to precisely blink.

Regardless tho, ayeeeee i love seeing people's personal tier lists

One thing I like about solo surviving is the lack of information and being forced to predict what the other players are doing, including the killer. It adds risk, which is something we need more of in DbD.

While this is a good idea, it'd contribute to erasing some horror aspects of DbD's atmosphere (or atleast scary, or thrilling) and it's not really something I'd support.

    First:
One of the problems is that the lack of information in this case doesn't lead to you being "forced to predict what other players are doing". It predominantly forces you to just run to every objective until you are caught, as demonstrated by over 100 games of the Marth88 experiment.

If we want stealthy gameplay, then we must allow survivors to know when they are not wasting their time during stealth, otherwise they are forced (by meta strategy) to just run to the objectives anyways, as being found isn't that big of a deal; it's about being able to loop.

    Second:
I also think that it WOULD contribute to the horror atmosphere more. When (solo)players start to understand the mechanic, they will know that if there is no chaser symbol below anyone's name, then there's no reason to rush things, especially at the start. It allows them to search for chests (an in my opinion completely undervalued game-mechanic for opportunities).
Playing stealthy gets you immersed and any mechanics that allow you to be stealthy and not harm yourself doing it helps with this immersion.

I disagree with everything said and here is exactly why:

Having the knowledge if the Killer has found survivors allows you to:
    1. Know when a gen is safe to complete or not. And by this, I mean absolutely completely. Compare it to nowadays - a gen is safe to do UNTIL you hear the heartbeat. This mechanic would only prove to help gen rush even more. People aren't going to use it to "have time to search through chests" etc, they're going to use it to their advantage, which is completely generators even more optimally because they no longer have to guess if the Killer is patrolling, or in a chase.
    2. Marth88's experiments come off as forced for me. I mean, regardless, you know The Killer is going to patrol generators, right? The whole Killer's objective is to stop gen progression and to sacrifice the survivors before they escape . This idea isn't going to change the fact that that's STILL the killers objective. Meaning, someone has to be found eventually. One way or another.
    3. Also, Killer nerf. Let's be honest, the devs have said it themselves, knowledge is the best power in this game. Look at perks like BBQ, Spine Chill, etc. Knowledge has a huge impact on gameplay. By giving Survivors even more FREE knowledge, with the state their still in, will just harm Killers that don't need to be harmed in the first place. SWF doesn't make up every single match, we can't cater to solo survivors in that way for everything.
    4. This one is opinionated and there's simply nothing else to it. For me, I see NOTHING thrilling about knowing what the Killer is doing. Oh cool, he found someone, time to do an 80sec~ M1 simulator. I don't see how that's horrory, or even thrilling. I like hearing the heartbeat and going "Oh #########, is he coming or is he chasing someone? [BAD WORD], better hide or run while I still got the chance." Whereas with your idea, it'd simply noticing the symbol gone, and [BAD WORD] off to hide for what? Until the symbol reappears? What if it never does, then who's going to take the risk? If nobody is in a chase, the Killer is patrolling gens, and if nobody is going gens, then HOW is the game progressing at all? There wouldn't be. Totems are easy to do while rushing generators anyway, chests you still have time for (Honestly, not worth the brown items though) and generators are your main objective so you should be doing them anyway.

I'll repeat it once more, while this is a good idea, it's not something I'd support. That is just my own personal reasoning. Let's say that :chuffed:

Would you like to be part of a group to play KYF in the PTB? Queue times will be much faster, but you'll have to rotate who plays Killer.

Hit me up if you're still looking.

I cant guys... I cant. I'm wondering sometimes, how some people could be so much brainless?

    What do you mean

Feedback are supposed to be constructive. Some people are posting realy dumb "changes" about The Legion because they want make everything more easy for them, and that's pissing me off. Today's Dead by daylight players want everything on their easy way. That's all lul. I'm just tilted.

Most people are constructivly saying The Legion needs tweaking and offering suggestions how to do so

Do you think they are wrong?

Have you looked at the majority of the threads especially the ones right after launch, I'd not call those constructive at all.

There's been plenty of constructive feedback. Just general discussion isn't really the place to find it.

This crappy OP pallets had been so long in the game, that now that it is FIXED, people complain about it, because they think it is perfectly ok for a pallet to create an instant magic forcefield.

    Remember the old vacuum? Lol

But yeah, you just timed it wrong bud.

  • Nice read. Enjoyable thread with lots of valid points.

I think he's strong. The only problem is his double stun (It's literally Nurse's old Swipe & Stun bug but it's intentional, which makes it even worse). It's annoying when you swipe someone for the second time, they jump over a pallet, and you're forced into not 1, but 2 stuns, then a pallet break. It's negatiting to the fact that he's a 110% movement speed Killer, and his power ends up hurting him more. When having the 4.4m/s, you have to have the power make up for it. I'm all for the stun (It's obvious it's needed) but the double duration just outweighs a lot of his pros.

And, man, just buff him to 115%. Like, it's obvious he needs it. Fix the damn fast vault too, it's so easy to 360 him around pallets and windows when he vaults with Frenzy.

Otherwise, he's really good. I think we're underestimating him. It's really easy to locate survivors. Distressing works well on him. I'd probably pick M&A over it though.

Played him considerably, and the trick is the beginning of the match. Injure one, use your big TM to find the rest. Rinse and repeat, once 2 or more are injured, go for the hook. Also, Thanataphobia, Stridor, etc, are all good perks on him. Feelsgoodman (Actually tho, for once a Killer I like.)

Edit: Also, pointing out in Monto's video. WHY DOESN'T MENDING MAKE ANY SOUND

Oh, I've made sure that tunneling is no longer an option in my killer PTB games.

I appreciate the suggestion and implicit acknowledgment that perks such as Dying Light and Remember Me have received a minor nerf as a result.

How were those two perks nerfed?

Dying Light requires you to focus on making sure one Survivor dies ASAP. Remember Me requires hitting one Survivor multiple times.

Still waiting for an explanation as to how those two perks were nerfed

If anything, Remember Me gets an extra stack if you tunnell the obessesion with BT

  • The double stun is the Nurse Swipe & Stun allll over again
