  • Buff made it good

I just find myself getting little use from it.

  • While I get it, the abuse is unnecessary...

The argument of what else are the Survivors supposed to do in a chase becomes relevant.

  • I had a Killer nod his head and hit me with his weapon while on the hook for the entire 2 minutes.

He had missed 9 shots before downing me just by his regular swings.

Was I mad? No. I laughed. My sister was with me, and so did she. If you think this game will die to toxicity, then good bye every single multiplayer game lol

  • I agree.

Also, tenacity is perfect for when you are slugged and the hatch or exit gates are open. You simply move fast enough where you have a good chance of not only escaping, but avoiding the Killer while doing so.

As of right now I’m excited. However that could change depending on how many points we have to get to earn a coin and how many coins we need to get a cosmetic piece. I don’t want Moonrise to be a super grindy event, but I also don’t want it to be a super short event. Going by the wiki page, I’m assuming that we can earn coins as either side instead of being forced to play them both (like how the Hallowed Blight worked before the devs changed it).

Also, I’m hoping hooks won’t be able to be sabotaged again just for the duration of the event (or give them a base Hangman’s Trick).

To my understanding Killer hooks will remain untouched and irrelevant to this events objective.

  • As long as we don't have a repeat of The Hallowed Blight event then I'm very excite as well.

yeah, thats not really a viable counterplay tactic, just something that works vs bad players.

It’s all we got right now.

And with those three statements, I think we can all agree Legion is a failure by design.

Good job coming up with a strategy to atleast give some survivors an opportunity to counter moon walking.

I always have Dead Hard equipped, so when I run into a moon walking Legion, I usually go back into his LOS and Dead Hard away, and usually by the amount of time he wastes he either gives up or all gens get done and I escape anyway.

The issues with pallets are the stuns and time required to make the pallet useless for vaulting. If pallets were objects that didn't stun and couldn't be vaulted over once thrown (eg. dropping a support beam that brings down an impassable wall), then that would a peek into the Nurse's world as to how she ignores defenses.

So, no, not everything is a pallet, and that's why she can be so effective (in addition to her speed during blink reducing the time to react to an approaching terror radius).

You treat everything like a pallet. Vaulting is useless against The Nurse unless you've memorized how long it takes for a Nurse to blink X amount of distance, and you need to be positive you'll make it. Trees, tires, rocks, anything that breaks LOS destroys her, because once ive placed myself behind a LOS blocker, even if it's a slim tree, it gives opportunity for the Nurse to make a wrong prediction, which every blink she misses, is more time for me.

Survivors keep their items after a killer DC

Its the killers who lose everyone and dont even get compensated with proper BP

She's referring to console I think.

If the Killer closes the application on PS4 a certain way, all survivors lose their items and BP. It's a known issue that has no current fix.

You are contradicting yourself with these both points tho.

That was noted already. Anyways, that has nothing to do with where The Nurse stands in power.

The pros and cons are the strengths and weaknesses of The Nurse. Meaning, it's still a con. Obviously it doesn't apply once high level play comes in. But overall, the pros and cons is separate. It's some insight.

    Regarding the cons:

Hard to learn (High Skill Cap) - thats irrelevant, I thought we are talking about high lvl gameplay
Countered by stealth - any killer can be countered with stealth and then you proceed to loop (not nurse though)
The Nurse relies heavily on predicting Survivor movement - yes high skill cap
Dead Zones - yes thats annoying, but not too bad
Slowest Killer in the game. (Slower than a Survivor) - irrelevant since you blink

    1. You're right. Information is still correct, but if we are talking about high lvl play it is irrelevant.
    2. Nurse is exceptionally weak to stealth unlike Killers like Wraith, Freddy, Pig, even HillBilly.
    3. Yep. Imo she's easy to outplay because of that.
    4. Depends on the map. What would you say is her best and worst maps?
    5. Going off of #2, stealth is even more of a disadvantage to The Nurse because of her movement speed. She will have troubles finding a Survivor if they're immersed and smart enough to stay hidden. She lacks tracking Survivors which is why her Unique Perks help with that, but without them, it's highly lackluster. Since we're basing on gameplay, just because there's blinks does not mean her movement speed cannot come into play and can effect any aspect of the game.

You make some great points, Master.

I really hated the hospital with nurse. LOS breakers everywhere and a few deazones too.
Game is really good for her, she can blink almost everywhere

Lerys is just bad. It's another example of her poor MS speed that effects her.

They fixed The game huh? Props to BHVR. I remember when it first came out, The Game was arguably the second worst map for her because of the sheer amount of Dead Zones that used to exist prior to map fixes.

Man, I love me some Coldwind with her though.

Personally, this has never been a con.
I don't mind one bit investing time into a character to see matches flourish with positive results.

Good to know. Often the High Skill cap can offset players and leave them frustrated.

What do you think of The Nurse?

  • @HatCreature said:
If she's not the best, who do you think is? You discredit Nurse but offer no replacement, bad argument right there.

Please use this as reference as I'm not editing a thread to prevent confusion.

    The Spirit.

Her skill cap is high like Nurse's, but I believe she has less counterplay when using optimal, raw gameplay.

She has more mindgame potential like the Nurse but with less counters.
She has map pressure as well
The Ability to end chases quickly
I can go on, essentially the pros and cons are the same. I mean she can't see survivors, but a good spirit learns how the environment moves around her during phase walking. i.e Grass, auditory triggers, etc.

From my experience, Spirit has performed better than any Nurse. People do know how to play against her, but her mobility with invisibility outclasses The Nurse.

Also, please remember we are all sharing opinions here.

I know this sounds stupid as hell, but let me explain. In the far future, years from now when Dead by Daylight finally shuts down it's servers cause of a sequel or the developers can no longer keep the servers up due to financial problems and what not. It'd be nice if we could have peer to peer servers remain as an alternative so we can still play Dead by Daylight even when the central servers shut down. I know this is something that should only be discussed when the servers would be shutting down. But it's better to say this early rather than later, so the devs can implement this option earlier in case they don't have enough time or resources to reimplement peer to peer when the servers would be shutting down, y'know.

I highly doubt that the devs will go through the trouble of developing two versions of the same game.
And in the end, even p2p needs servers for items etc.

Fan made servers are highly common. If you want an example, look up "Wiimmfi" and there's even a website.

    "Wiimmfi
The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (WFC) service was an online gaming service that provided free online play in various Nintendo DS and Wii games. Nintendo discontinued the service on May 20th, 2014, primarily because the host of the service, GameSpy, was shutting down its servers. Nintendo WFC was required for online play, but the Wiimmfi Project has replicated much of its functionality and allows for continued online play in Mario Kart Wii and other games.
Wiimmfi is available for the public since May 10th, 2014 (10 days before WFC shutdown). It started with Mario Kart Wii and supports now more than 100 games. Read »Development of Wiimmfi« for details.

To use Wiimmfi, the games must be patched to use the new domains and also to change some other settings. See »Wiimmfi Patcher« for more details."

So, it is possible for this to happen. But the likelyhood of someone going out of their way to host servers for just DBD seems far-fetched.

  • Nurse is weak if you learn how to play against her. She relies on predicted movement to hit her blinks and you have to use that to your advantage.

Nurse is crap lmao I dont get why everyone puts her on S tier. People need to learn, her blinks are too easy to juke lol

With the changed Self Care, I managed to get up to 133% Healing speed without a medkit. It was back to 12 seconds if you stacked Botany, ontop of Leader. [BAD WORD] insane.

I used to run BK when I 1st started playing Claudette since I liked her backstory and healing stuff and I still occasionally will bring it out. But it's really underpowered compared to everything else's perk slot it'd take up and I don't run SB/AD/DH or DS either.

The thing is too, healing isn't strong right now. After the time nerf, I just stopped using SC and BK all together even tho previously I seldom ran it. Why would I run a perk just to get the previous healing speed? God, I hate BHVR sometimes.

I agree, it is UP. It gets outclassed by perks like Leader, We'll Make it, etc too. But I still love running heal builds the odd time.

I rather have Vigil focusing on the support idea around it than just boosting exhaustion. Infact, if they implement this change, I'd be more than happy to remove the Exhaustion recovery rate from the perk entirely

Solo Survivor just keeps getting worse and worse to play as

How does this nerf solo Survivors in any conceivable way? Does knowing the Killer's perks after you've already left the trial benefit you in any way?

Heyo, didn't say this was a nerf. It just makes solo unappealing. I had a game on PTB that when I died, lasted 20 minutes and it's not really an attractive change as a solo survivor.

It just makes me want to play SWF only, really.

The question is still essentially the same. How does this change anything? Do you have to see the Killer's perks at the end of each and every trial or else you can't enjoy it?

Questions not the same, but anyway

@Milkymalk summarized it pretty well. It's nice to know if it was him who found me, or the use of BBQ or Nurse's. Did he have Tombstone on Myers or Unlimited EW3? Well, you can't find out because you're the first one who's died and the match lasted 25 minutes because of a hatch standoff.

It's mental satisfaction on knowing what I got outplayed with.

Now, I do understand this change was implemented in spite of demand due to the problem of what?... oh right, [BAD WORD] SWF. Because friends can tell each other if a Killer has NOED, BBQ, Bloodwarden, etc.

Which I get, but it's funny to me. Your NOED was already negated by me, a solo survivor, who took out your 5 totems. Your bloodwarden never activated because I know if someone is going down while I'm opening the gate, I'll leave a sliver before fulling opening it prior to the survivor being hooked. And for your BBQ and Nurses, well that's where your on the fence because it's not that hard to tell, so I guess that's irrelevant.

So, yes, my experience is gonna become more suck-ish with this change considering as prior to it, it was how I liked it. I'm allowed to voice my distaste too, I'm tired of this game heading in a direction that's discouraging playing solo survivor.

Maybe with Dedicated Servers, they'll be able to change it where SWF are considered groups separate from Solo Survivors and will be able to implement features around such. (Like, Solo Survivors can see Killer loadouts right away but SWF cannot)

"Essentially the same". Emphasis on "essentially". The words may change, but the rationale does not. If seeing the Killer's perks is where you derive most of your satisfaction from, to the point that having to wait to do so (or not being able to do so at all) ruins your experience, you may just not like the game all that much.

Don't take this out of proportion and use the argument "you must not like the game so much". Sigh. Have a real conversation with me. Infact, you disregarded 80% of the post.

Anyway, obviously it isn't where I derive my most enjoyment from. The issue is the discouragement to play solo keeps becoming more prevalent. SWF is looking more juicy these days and it's not typically something I like. I'm not going to stop playing, but it is affecting my experience in a negative way.

So no, I don't like this change. I've voiced it. But it's not a deal breaker.

It's an unfortunate but necessary change. I'll gladly give up my endgame perk curiosity if it helps balance out swf a bit.

I think that's where the grand scheme comes into place. While I'm reluctant on this change, I still get why it's being pushed out. It makes sense and has validity to it. I just don't like it :P

  • Solo Survivor just keeps getting worse and worse to play as

  • As a solo survivor, this will be annoying.

  • I hate this "When the exit gates are open, the game is over" mindset that we see so frequently.

I acknowledge that holding a game hostage is prevalent, but such drastic changes cannot be implemented just because of a scenario that happens like 1% of the time. (I got thousands of hours and never had my game held hostage. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I mean really? Is it such a priority to fix this problem)

Though it would be nice to have encouragement for Survivors to leave the trial as quick as possible, free bloodwarden is a no no over on my end. That's taking away a perk too that's really nice.

I think after X amount of time your aura should be revealed and stay revealed to the Killer. Lockers do not provide aura reading blockage and therefore you'd have no choice but to run from the Killer and leave.

  • My favourite change with this is the fact it hides your aura from other Survivors too

  • How this discussion went from a harmless excitement of cosmetics to a wild topic of toxicity is beyond me.

Back to the topic, I'm excited for those cosmetics too. That Nea one got like a MJ Jacket

  • I always like to take on the 3v1s as a Survivor because of the extra challenge. When you beat them, you feel like you and whoever got stuck in that match with you were good and outplayed the Killer.

Sometimes they suck, but that's when I do chest searches and totem breaking and play kinda differently. They can be fun.

Prices will hopefully drop within the next couple of months on GPU's.

What CPU are you planning on getting?

Thanks for the recommendation, but PC's with 1070 or higher are over 1 grand (1000-3000$) I'm not able to afford that. Any other suggestions?

Statistics put survival escape rate % between 30-50% throughout all ranks and I believe that was dated in Novemeber or October, years of change from how it used to be.

  • Yeah, I'm still waiting on a simple response for a question from them and yet it's been well over a week.

Their communication is not only half-assed (Soon, TM) but it's not even there anymore.

    Thanks for the answers Mandy.
@Brady I will talk with the Producer to see if the min requirements changed with this Unreal Engine update or if it should still be the same, AFAIK, they are still the same. As Mandy mentionned, if you are a bit lower than requirements on your CPU, that might be the reason you are having issues.

    Has there been any word?

  • Why not buff Small Game (The Survivor perk) to do just that?

  • What you see is what you're exposed to.

The majority of this game's playerbase are kind, always sending a gg end game.

Forums are a place for people to voice their opinion. Nobody feels the need to point out their love for the game, it's common knowledge we have an urge to express our negative feedback over our positive.

The game's playerbase is clearly strong enough for them to announce Dedicated Servers and another (kind of) roadmap or plan. Dedicated Servers was out of question for the longest time, mind you.

I don't see this game dying, the only problem is the lack of beginner friendliness which I'd say is the main reason for not having more of a peak of playerbase.

The vast majority of players don't come to the forums. At all.

  • Pig's been out for nearly a year.

Pretty sure it was tested having the RBT timer go off on the hatch, and obviously wasn't suited,

@Brady your CPU is below the minimum required specs for the game, which is probably the cause for your pc struggling so much with this update.

It was just never a problem until 2.4.0, prior everything was perfectly fine.

If you could put your information on that thread, with regards to the issue that would be great to help solve this issue for everyone.

In the meantime, please check your graphics drivers. I agree with @EntityDispleased removing them with DDU is the best option to get a clean install, and probably don't use one of the very newest drivers as they seem not to be optimised for older cards.

    Hi Mandy,

I'm unable to figure out how to do so. If you could point me in the right direction to either how to, or where to find out how to do so would be great.

Sorry I just got the notification of your reply. I'll try to list the steps on how to DDU as simple as possible.

    1. Download DDU off https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html scroll to the very bottom and you'll find download links.
    2. Place DDU in a separate folder, click the 7zip file and it should extract multiple files.
    3. There's gonna be a .exe file in the extracted files, open that.
    4. Pick Nvidia as your graphics card, then click on clean and restart. The program recommends booting into safe mode to avoid issues but I've done it several times without safe mode and it worked just fine.
    5. After your PC restarts, you'll have to install drivers. Go to https://www.geforce.com/drivers specify your gpu as 500 series and pick your windows version.
    6. Open the installer, click custom installation, uncheck everything except for gpu driver and PhysX driver, then tick the clean installation box. You can install GeForce experience as well if you'd like.

Also what's your cpu? That might be a part of the issue.

I've tried so, and I;'m about to go into a game to see if anything has improved.
