  • Jeez, that Clown one is extremely spine chilling.
  • Even with the best turning add-ons Hillbilly still has crap control over his chainsaw, while with Spirit you retain full mobility. Hillbilly's mindgames are non-existent, while Spirit is built around them. Bumping into objects is heavily punished, while it doesnt matter at all for Spirit. And I also believe the Spirit has no cooldown between stop the sprinting, while Hillbilly has one.
  • The only annoying thing I find is people comparing the Spirit with Freddy. I mean, sure, invisible lel, but his powers have nothing to do with hers. If anything, she is a combination of Wraith/Pig and a reverse Hag with Scarred Hand.
  • Because if a Meg wears that mask, the Killer must smash her head against the floor. Duh.
  • Does it reset when you leave the terror radius/start a chase or does it save your earned progress like Stake Out does?

They said already that the next 4 DLC's (2 left now) will be totally original.

Like they said we would never get a clown killer?
One thing is a road map (implying all 4 killers were pretty thought out when it was announced), another thing is a comment made once on a random stream.
  • The perk is decent, but it is not a free escape. Not only is a bit situational, but also has considerable drawbacks (keep in mind the Broken effect means not being able to heal back up).
  • No tentacles though. Disappointed.
  • I mean, they dont sound too bad.
    - Diversion sounds good if you are hiding and the Killer is looking for you, so you distract him with an audio cue, especially if you are the last one (that said, I am not sure of the exact power, ugh... Streamers and their need to place their big heads on the screen...).
     - Deliverance seems effective against dangerous hook rescues (a part counter for MYC, maybe).
    - Autodidact is the only useless one.

    The x

    x = Spirit.

    What do I win?
  • The only change to Blood Warden I would do is that it can trigger before the gates are open. Such as either blocking the exit levers or the blockade is activated once the gates are opened.

...and maybe affect the hatch as well.
  • Maybe they will move the Clown's "caravan" around to another realm.
  • I doubt she would ever get the pig head off her because she would look too much like a survivor without at least that, but she could potentially still wear the clothes.
I wonder what head cosmetics she could have :o
Her giant standing up black hair might give her away. :P

Would only be worth carrying for SWF flashlight squads, IMO. I'll agree that the perk sucks as is but I'd rather they give it another effect entirely, like they did with Tinkerer, than make it near useless.

Yeah, unless people were using Voice Comms it'd be hard to use. I'd like it if the No Heal was temporary and not for the rest of the game, like a hook respawn time, three minutes would be fair.

Im confused. Did I miss something? Did they go back to the no healing after use? I thought it would only be the stun in place now.

I don't use it so i don't really care. I do think it is going to be a broken worthless perk. I wonder how many people who bought Halloween for that perk may feel cheated. Same way people who bought Freddy did and than he got nerfed.

They shouldnt feel that way. Unless you got the DLC just last week, you had plenty of time to get the best out of DS (almost 2 years now!). And if you did get it recently, too bad, thats what can happen in any business (like buying a full priced TV just the day before it gets a discount). This isnt restricted to DbD, its any service.
  • Decided to revive this thread, because I just thought of a new one.

The reworked Calm Spirit is not as OP as people make it seem. This perk is only ever useful against one killer (and this is only a midtier killer), meaning you will give up a perk slot for a perk just as situational as Unbreakable. And even then this killer can use other tools in his arsenal to find you.

Not to mention not screaming just doesnt feel natural at all. "I wont scream even though I have a chainsaw/hatchet/clawed glove inside me while I die".
  • Nah, I certainly believe nerfing DS will fix lag switchers and FPS drops on console.
  • Finally some Clown love!

  • 10/10 as both killer and survivor. Its the most creative map they have released (in terms of set up), allowing interesting strategies. And the details are everywhere.
  • One problem will be Leatherface and Bill, who dont have their respective nemesis. You could pair them together, but Left for Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre have nothing to do with each other. Maybe they are best left outside the system.

  • As far as I remember, match rating does nothing. Just lets developers know what matches were good and such and potentially include those players on the "season's best players" (they only did this once, if memory doesnt fail, but I didnt check streams oftenly back then).
  • I doubt it would work as a 1-2 hour film, but it might as short stories of all killers. Clown and Huntress, maybe Wraith as well, those would give really solid ideas.
  • I thought by crosshair you meant the Huntress' hair getting in the way of her vision and distracting you while you throw an axe.

Nah just kick off the shoes and get down to some good old fashion foot workin, MONKEY BUSINESS!

But impossible to pull off a Sprint Burst afterwards... Which is perfect!

  • The Quentin fanart is gorgeous, and Im not saying that because Im biased and he is my go-to survivor.

Found this the other day on Tumblr.
  • Also Amanda makes for less puns than Pig.
    Goddamn right!
  • Neither. Its because in DbD all killers are called "The x". Michael Myers is The Shape, Freddy is The Nightmare, Leatherface is The Cannibal, etc. Its like saying "They are not the same killers as they were, they are the Entity's toys now".

That said, they do not dismiss the characters' name. They are mentioned in their add-ons and item quotes.

I think we can expect an Asian male survivor. With this games popularity in the East it's wierd not to have one.

wait I thought Jake is half-Asian or something?

I mean like Asian Asian like Fengy. I play with alot of Japanese on ps4 and they all play Feng.

  • Gremlins could be interesting to have. The killer could be "The Mother" (a human sized gremlin) or the magician who made them (been years since I watched that movie).

Survivors must carry a Gremlin at all times with them, otherwise they cannot interact with the environment (repair, heal, vault, etc). However, holding a Gremlin will debuff them in some way. Im thinking Gremlins twitching and transforming into their monster form from time to time, causing yelling that alerts the killer of their location, hinder generator progress by jumping inside it. Maybe even more!
  • I wouldnt mind map-specific generators, like hooks. Same with pallets.

I would like more "yellow" generators, the ones that interact with the environment. Their presence and idea in the Game map were really good, opening new routes as they were activated. I am not asking for something as big as in that map, but maybe more little things like in Haddonfield, where they light up the room.
  • Can we just take a second and appreciate the amazing Piggy fanart?

  • I love this. This is pure art.

  • No one shall steal my Quentin-kun from me!

But, anyway. Nancy on that movie was just the typical downer character that survived. Quentin actually researched stuff, acting as the actual knowledge source. Even the events experienced by him (for instance, his dream sequence revealing Freddy's past) are far more relevant.

Nancy only had a 1 second flashback of Freddy leading her into the R-rated room, and then just a bunch of random encounters with Freddy
  • I went back to some pre Clown videos. The scratches are there (stairs at least). Someone on another thread did say they were randomly placed each time. My guess is just that we are only just noticing them.
  • I also do want more indoor maps. They give so many possibilities for interesting settings.

Can anyone explain to me what's the ICON of the perk "Hex: Mad Laughter"? I can't understand the drawing....

Looks like a survivor wearing a mask (fairly similar to Feng). The lines on the upper left show the laughter.

  • The problem with bigger maps is that Swamp would happen again.

Even a Perk that allows sooner Heartbeat Audio alerts would perhaps help?
This will sound strange, but you dont want this. Certain killers purposely increase terror radius (through their perks and add-ons), meaning this perk will be a hindrance if you face such build.

There are however a couple of perks that aid you on detecting the killer before the finds you; Premonition or Spine Chill. Even Alert if you set it up correctly.

No its not possible, sth similar has already been tested

They tested kicking allied survivors, not kicking killers.
Did they test that and didn't work or they just said they did? Last thing I heard was that they were considering it.

The DS change proposed by Devs is enough. Its honestly still strong, allowing you to give you more time to wiggle out. It may not happen every single time, but being a few seconds short from escaping the killer's grasp because a hook was far away enough is rather common, especially if other Survivors start bodyblocking for you.

The point of the new DS is to enable a window where flashlight saves are possible

Pretty sure zarr will come here and call it too situational as well.

  • I feel the nerfs were indeed noticeable (vacuum, mainly), and rightfully so. But the soon-to-be-buffs are minuscule and I feel neutral towards them as well. The only one important is the in-built Kindred, and is so overpowered that it wont make it to live servers (maybe even PTB), unless it does not include the Survivor-Survivor aura reading.

Unless you mean generally. In which case, I will just reply with "Depends on the case".

  • Clown is bae. You can use his belly as a pillow. Nuff said.

    Huntress?
  • Well, that is how its supposed to be! If DS isnt justified to be "meta", then good. The meta is supposed to change from time to time. We have had this powerful perk for almost 2 years. If people drop it for something else, then, thats excellent. Force people to move out of their comfort zone and try alternate playstyles or perk builds. That alone justifies any nerf made to DS.

And even if it wont be useful every single match, then, does it matter? Adrenaline is a very good perk, and yet its even more situational than the nerfed DS. Lithe is the second best Exhaustion perk (and a very popular choice), but it wont be a life saver on every map. Even NOED, the most criticised Killer perk by Survivors, wont even activate every single match.

  • Thats mild skillcheck Doctor though. :P
