You can actually cancel out the bug by simply tapping the power button. You don’t even have to drag the sword, simply tapping the button is all it takes. It’s not really that big of a deal.

It's the same bug of the chainsaw... I know it goes away if you tap it, but doing that in chase cost you time... so it IS a big deal.

  • I don't know if it is fun to face or not, but now with the sound bug pyramid head currently has, it's definitely not fun to use it. Having that grinding deafening sound all the time drilling your ears..... But hey! We have a new killer!! WIth bugs of its own!!

  • Yep, we have new chapter PTB and this bug is still in the game. No mention of it in the patch notes... Man, this people in BHVR won't stop to chew what they have in their mouth and go a grab another spoonful. Killer from chapter 17 is broken but who cares!! Here is another Killer that will break soon! So greedy...

  • And of course, the bug is still in the game and nothing has been done about it and this post died with no response...

make deathslinger movespeed 115 or 120

have trapper spawn with traps that regenerate over time, instead of having to roam the map to get them

ezpz fixes that exponentially increase the strength of both killers

Deathslinger movement speed is great. You have to use your power to catch them and that's good design. But not rewarding the skill to take a long shot is poor desing.

The trapper's traps are so demanding and not very rewarding, because you have to roam places to get traps and you waste time doing so. Then an injured survivor steps on one and it's just like: "whoops!" and walks away like nothing happened. That's poor design.

Also in a different note, Why breaking a gen is a "hold button action" but breaking a pallet isn't? If breaking a pallet was "hold button action" it would be amazing for mindgames.

  • @timbologna said:

Also a nice fix that would be just great: If a survivor is camping at the exit gates just by the border and you hit them, they are pushed out and your spear is disconnected, the spear should take priority over the gate.

I don't know what you are talking about, sorry.

if a survivor breaks out they get injured and put into deepwound, there is a trapper addon that puts people into the dying state when they release themselves and another that injures them if they disarm traps.

If an injured survivor breaks out of the chain because you landed an amazing far shot you get nothing. Is that good design? No.

This trapper addon is ok, because a HEALTHY survivor is put on dying state if he step on a trap. But if an injured survivor step on a trap you get nothing. Again, is that good design? No.

    That's my point here. :)

  • Or give the deathslinger a secondary ability to shot and injure with a cooldown (I know you love cooldowns).

  • Maybe make that the deathslinger longshot immediately hurts the survivor one health state so the survivor can actually have a chance to run away and make the deathslinger make a celebration noice like a "YEE HAA!!" or something. Man... And the trap thing is just necessary man. One health state so the injured survivor always go down to make traps as deadly as they had always deserved to be.

Heather Mason is actually Cheryl Mason. She takes the name at the end of the game.

Thank you!!! I read her BIO on the PTB and you are totally right! :D

Now I can just love the game!

  • @KingFrost said:

Most people probably know her as Heather Mason.

I know!!!!! Cheryl was the little girl you were lookoing for in SH2, but the survivor is the one in SH3 and her name is Heather. Now, I think she is the reincarnation of Cheryl, but again, her name is Heather.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

    It said Cheryl.

What I meant is that the real name of that character, if you are a fan of the Sillent Hill series is not Cheryl. It's Heather.

  • This idea to nerf swf SPEED is not only good, but NECESSARY. In other games, Diablo3 for example, when you play with friends, enemies get stronger, but they earn better rewards. We could adapt that logic here, nerf the speed of actions but give them more blood points.

The argument of "punish me because I want to have fun with my friends" is so selfish, because they don't think of the killer's fun. Killers just suffer too much against a SWF on coms. E.G. Every day trapper game, coms are like: "he is trapping the shack window"... "careful, he has bamboozle"... "he is chasing me"... "I have a gen in 99%, go save and activate adrenaline" ... "just unhook me, I have DS"... (I could continue for hours). No matter what they do, they would never take coms from SWF, but please... If you have that advantage for FREE... stop a little bit and think: is it really fair? Don't just equip the perk EMPHATY, practice it a little as well in your lives.

  • @Nanglaur said:

Im sorry but whats end game about that? Its more like a mid game to prevent the end game. And no, there is nothing healthy about reducing progress down to zero, instead imagine something that can be fun to play with and agaisnt offering room to play and counterplay.

Consider this as a concept: When an exit gate is open give all survivors exposed status for 30 seconds. This can offer some room for counterplay and at the same time allows you to get those pesky survivors who 99's the gates and can be combined with something like Blood Warden.

Or something like this: At the start of the game one of the gates will be cursed, when the exit gates are opened the cursed gate will get blocked for 30 seconds. I dont know, im just putting some ideas out.

What's endgame about that? Are you joking? End game is not the same as End Game Collapse. Picture this situation (if you've never been it, I understand this can be difficult). Killer hooks survivors left and right, but gens still fly (Normal, right now. They can take less than 30 secs to repair one, and this is confirmed). Imagine the perk "Shutdown" exists in the game, it would only activate if the killer has a big ammount of hooks, having 8 hooks by the end of the game even harder to achieve than Devour Hope. Gens are all ready, they only have to find the exit, all 4 survivors are alive and them BOOM, they have to fix one more to be able to escape. Surivors would never 99% doors again and it would encourage killers to go for more hooks and not camp.

What is the counterplay for this perk? Simple!! Just OPEN THE DOOR!! Activate endgame collapse. Right now if all gens are done and EGC is not active and you dont have NOED (disgusting perk btw) you have nothing.

A perk like shutdown IS the solution for genrush. Yes, I imagine it wouldn't be funny for survivors to have to repair an extra gen to escape. But is it fun for killers to eat a Decisive Strike after leaving the survivor and hooking another person? Is it fun for killer to still lose the game after having that ammount of hooks? Do they deserve to escape after having a bad game? Do they really deserve to escape after being hooked 8 times (as a team of course). Borrowed time? Decisive strike? SWF? HATCH? KEYS? (Moris are stupid too, please remove them from the game, also keys).

Some survivors are just not scared anymore and think of the killer as a joke and some survivors even dare to tell killers how to play. And since we can't tose them into the void as the entity would (confirmed by lore), the entity (BHVR) has to come up with creative solutions (Gearhead: garbage, Red Herring: crazy fun!... not fair).

Also, your idea of exposing survivors when the door is open is just another NOED. Of course this perk would never activate for killers who don't go after hooks and just camp. So, yeah! I understand you are that other kind of killer. A noed killer.

I love this game, but is so broken right now. I love it enough to spend about 10 minutes writting this, even though I know DEVS will never read nor listen. So yeah, for the moment is just for laughs. Have an emoji for reading this far: 😁

It'll probably need some tweaking of course, as most new things do, but i'm sure it'll be a step in the right direction for the future of DBDs matchmaking system.

The change is going to gradual as the status update says, so it's not being sent out the day after that post was released.

Thank you. I really hope this game reaches a state in which both sides are pleased with it.

  • I want to think that getting rid of ruin will allow BHVR to change how generators work. I'm cautiously optimistic. But still mad because they talk to the community as killers were bots who are supposed to lose every game.

  • @UgyBoogie said:

It would absolutely ruin the game. The game isn't build around a voice chat. A lot of perks and powers of the killer would lose their viablity if survivors were able to communicate freely. This goes hand in hand with the issue many have with SWF groups, cause they are able to communicate via third party programs. The overall game wasn't build around communication.

That said, even my own personal opinion is strongly against voice chat. I've got nearly 3k hours, all of them as either killer or solo survivor. And if the game had voice chat, I'd mute it 24/7. The lack of communication is precisely one of the appealing things for me.

Exactly. I totally agree. I've always imagined trials as "nightmares" in which you try to escape a monster and you are not able to talk. This last makes the experience more terrifying. I sometimes like to play with my SWF group without voice chat to make it more thrilling.

Yeah, no, I'mma camp and tunnel when I can.

I'm not a Red Rank. Hell, I haven't even gotten past Rank 11 as Killer, but I'm going to be an ass to Survivors because most of the Purple or Red Ranked ones are asses to me.

Maybe the way you play (camping and tunnel) is why you don't win and I bet it's annoying boring to verse you.

  • Disgusting Blendettes are sure happy with this new Anti Aliasing change... Specially in Yamaokas, so hard imposible to see them. I just hope they revert this soon.

  • I think for the PTB to really work they should give UNLIMITED bloodpoints so players could really test and fiddle with the new content. And it wouldn't be a bad idea to also give players some Auric Cells on the PTB too so players can see some skins (like in the first PTB with the store).

Thinking DS was fine the way it used to be (It wasn't fine) is... oof. You can't look at old DS and seriously think that was balanced, can you?

Borrowed Time needed to be nerfed. People would just go in and rescue with zero consequences because that's what the perk allowed people to do. It made it impossible for Killers to defend their objective at all, which they have the right to do. Borrowed Time has also literally be consistently buffed the past year.

Vaulting got changed because infinites caused by fast vaulting places that are not supposed to be fast vaultable breaks the balance of a lot of maps. Who would have thought?

People have always been complaining about how fast gens can be done, especially since the depip squad showed how easy it is to do. I honestly don't know what you are talking about.

People complain about SWF because the game literally was not balanced with communication in mind. Therefore, it's no surprise that SWF breaks the balance of the game and people (justifiably) complain about it.

Give this man a cookie! After reading all this thread, I have to say that this guy knows.

I've been playing since Bubba's release and I have to say that this game has changed for the best. I love this version of the game, without cookie mold metas (like if you don't run certain perks you lose!!)

As a killer main myself, now I love playing survivor because I have OPTIONS. I can go super altruistic or gen jokey. And as killer, I used to feel forced to play using the meta: "Ruin" and "BBQ" (that's why I understand "Decisive Strike's widows"). But now we have "corrupt intervention" and "Pop goes the weasel" and many more to come, so we have more options and we can break the mold of the old meta.

I use to think that running away from the killer was easy, but surprise!! It's hard!! When I play killer I see survivors running me more than a minute. That survivor has practiced a lot to play like that and I respect that (except when they BM but that's a totally different topic). If you feel the game is unbalanced, it's because you need to play both sides. Playing one side or the other feels like two totally different games.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/819/JRB9U3WJ61XW.png

Yes, I agree. But right now, to be able to hear anything while in chase (both sides) you HAVE to play with headphones BLASTING your ears. It has always been like that. So it would be nice if they toned it down a bit if a volume alternative is not an option.

  • These survivor faces on those pictures are so real that they are more scary than most killers.

  • I'm happy because this issue is addressed in the PTB list of fixes. It's a bug and they corrected it. Thank you devs!!!

  • No offense, but I've been using doctor for more than a year now, and I know that with the Order addon you create fake pallets. But as Master Member said the killer used to be able to see a yellow aura of the fake pallets, but not anymore, ergo my question.

  • Not to mention the rank system. I'm at red rank right now and there are NO matches as killer.

  • @Maxi605 said:

Can anyone explain to me what's the ICON of the perk "Hex: Mad Laughter"? I can't understand the drawing....

Looks like a survivor wearing a mask (fairly similar to Feng). The lines on the upper left show the laughter.

If the voice actress of Lady Maria and the Doll from Bloodborme came to Dead By Daylight and had a character she voiced... I'd ditch Claudette and have that character as my main. Though at the moment I'm having trouble deciding if I should swap mains. P3 Claudette with all current perks at rank 3, Kate P3 in the process of getting all of the perks. But I really like playing as Nea because she seems to run differently and for some reason look better and more real in doing so whilst I just like Meg because of the 'Carnie Long Locks' hairstyle. I might try switching my mainly used survivor to a stealth based one. But none of the survivors are described as such. Well, maybe Nea. But she's a killer, so...

Using P3 claudette is cheating. LOL

    (REPOST IN CORRECT FORUM)

I have had a little browse and I couldn't really find any posts about survivor items
lets face it guys, we haven't had any new items for quite a while
    so this is my idea:

    Adrenaline Shots
An injection that you carry to give you a 30 second speed boost
to either running, searching, healing or repairing
The addons could be that you can get rid of the exhaustion debuf. So lets say after using sprint burst or something you could use adrenaline to get rid of exhaustion and sprint burst again?
or some that could remove some of your debufs that are inflicted on you by killers.
    Any thoughts?

ALSO POST YOUR OWN ITEM IDEAS

How to break the game? Implementing this.

  • @DocOctober said:
Namely Decisive Strike and Hex: No One Escapes Death

Both Perks reward their user for a bad play on their own part.

DS for being unable to outjuke and lose a Killer, NOED for being unable to put pressure on the Survivors and preventing Generator repair.

Whereas some might argue that the former is far worse than the latter, both have a similar result: they outright deny the receiving part something: in case of DS a potential kill, in case of NOED a potential escape.

Of course NOED can be destroyed and potentially not come into play at all, but just as much can the DS Skillcheck be missed and make it unusable.

IMO, in game that is supposed to have oneself rely purely on one's personal skill in order to succeed, Perks that give someone a second chance or outright deny or fully alter an outcome of a situation and reward bad play should not exist.

Which is also the reason I outright refuse to ever use DS as I find it a horrendously flawed Perk and the same goes for NOED, I did use it back in the early days of Dead by Daylight, but haven't used and even refuse to use it for well over 1.5 years by now.

I'd be quite happy to lose both of them.

    Well said. Couldn't agree more.

  • I just want my doctor and huntress to be legacy. :chuffed:

I've always liked the idea of the game getting harder for both sides as you Rank up.

Like certain perks being locked out and such

This would be really interesting to test out and especially for SWF groups, you could even limit it to each person may only have depending on group size between 1 and 3 non self perks. To make it even harder no 2 ppl could take the same op tier so to speak perk.

Or you could make high rank survivors to have less perks slots, simple solution but really effective IMO.
