The only reason they linked the Leon and Jill cosmetics (not the Clare and Chris ones) is because the difference between the hair styles is so minimal and on Jill literally non existent that people wouldn't buy the full set and instead would just buy the torso and pants.

It's greedy and inexcusable, unlink them or make the hairstyles different, because linking them purely because they realize the head wouldn't sell is lazy, greedy, and an insult to the fan base.

I can confirm its not supposed to be linked as i bought jills top and bottom without the face and same with leon. I have the set unlinked on my profile.

I read that if you edit the files you risk an EAC ban and the devs won't do anything about it.

thats not true. youre only editing game user settings to increase fps and the max fps is capped at 120 even if you have a 144hz display or more.

  • @Stealth said:

It still runs at 60 fps? Why don't they increase it? Also increase it on pc w/o having to edit files and risk a ban.

you dont risk getting a ban for increasing the fps from 60 to 120

I don't know what some people are talking about, it has been quite a long time since I have seen a single cheater. Others say it is once a week. Has anyone seen a cheater lately? If so, please provide a screenshot.

faced a cheater recently and reported him, had video proof too, it was a pyramid head with increased mms and cooldown on attacks. he was rank 4 and played like a rank 21 so guessing he ranked up fast with cheats and is hopefully banned or removed from the game. He purposfully made his mms and cooldown increased so you wouldnt know if he cheated or not if you were new to the game.

For a game that has had its biggest revenue year since launch, you would think they would offer the same amount of earnable skins as when they had less money

It’s how the rich stay rich I guess.

they used to have 20 devs, now theyre 150+

  • Dying light wasnt a good perk at all but it promoted toxic and unhealthy gameplay from killers at the survivors expense so it got changed for betterment of the game, its the same with OoO, its unhealthy, toxic and broken in certain scenarios where a team of friends gets too much info, and it promotes unhealthy gameplay from killers to tunnel the obsession and facecamp them until theyre out of the game, cough statistics cough.

I'm getting nothing but constant framedrops that make playing the game nearly impossible on PS4. That's a petty grievance? I have put a lot of money into this game over the years, but update after update the performance has gotten worse. I've really been putting money into a game so I could play it less? That's what's happened. That's not okay.

Also, you apparently took their comment the opposite of how they meant it. They're saying they got more out of $15 with Left 4 Dead 2 than they got out of the much larger amount of money they've put into DbD.

I was talking about the event in general not retail PS4s working differently than the dev kit PS4. and thats not on them, thats a complaint you should chuck at sony.

Its a even bigger issue because the devs said they dont want anymore exclusives, so they gave away the summer BBQ skins etc (which i worked hard for back then) but didnt wanted to giveaway the legacy ,,because its unfair for those who worked for it" and now they are adding exclusives AGAIN.

everyone will probably get it at one point also its just a charm

I didnt ask any questions. and If i did, it was rhetorical. I still think the "backlash" from players are just petty grievances. also I had to stop reading your post about your 1k hour on Left for dead 2 being worth 15 "dollars" imagine being proud of spending 1k hours for 15 dollars. my time is worth way more than that.

I'm sure the PS4 players are very much enjoying their 15 FPS experience while the Switch Players enjoy not being able to play because they can't see anything in-game due to the "N64 fog" that makes it kind of impossible to see anything. A situation that could have been avoided if BHVR actually worked on the health of the game.

Being able to unlock all the content of the game means nothing to me. Know how quickly I unlock games in most other games I play?

I purchased it once. And then that was it.

Ever played Left 4 Dead 2? It's a good game. Paid $15 for it once. Got over 1,100 hours off of it over the years. Didn't have to grind for content at all in those 1,100 hours to unlock only a fraction of the content. Got the whole game in one, smooth purchase. Felt real good.

Now, this is a paid game, but it's a live service, so of course I could understand some levels of monetization to keep it up and running, especially when they added dedicated servers -- as "hit and miss" as they have been.

However, it is still a pay to play game, so I don't understand why this pay to play game, requires not one, not two, but three free-to-play monetization schemes in it along with the DLC MTX's.

We got the premium currency, we got the abundance of cosmetics and we have a battlepass. All of these are things free to play games usually do to make profit because they're... y'know, free to play.

Not only that, but each and every one of these system, use tactics to manipulate the player to spend more. Y'know, you can buy 1,200 of the premium currency, when the skin only costs 900 of the premium currency, making you spend $10 for a skin that costs $9.

Cosmetics tease the player when playing with their friends. Friend A and B has skin, so player feels left out and gets pressured into buying the skin too. We already know how bad the default Fortnite skin is to the point it's literally used as a point for kids to bully each other in school (which is extreme).

Finally, the good 'ol battle pass. And I hate this thing. There is no way to opt out of this. It annoys you every match, constantly pestering you that you unlocked rewards (even when you haven't), a race to grind hundreds of hours worth of games to have a chance to unlocked timed exclusive (and just outright exclusive) goodies, constantly reminding you all of the junk you're missing if you don't pay. It uses FOMO (fear of missing out) to get people to not only buy the pass, but if you're running out of time, to spend money to unlock tiers so you can get all of the rewards in time.

Okay, so maybe BHVR wants money. Makes sense, they're a corporation.

So, why do we have 15 FPS on PS4 and N64 fog on Switch again? Where is that money going to? It's certainly not going into improving the game -- the game's performance has been on a consistent downhill spiral for that past few years.

I could maybe accept all of these freemium monetization models if they actually used that money to one, thank their community for supporting them -- which they clearly was not their intention with this event; all the goodies we're doing now is just damage control, and two, if they were actually fixing and improving the game, which we know is not the case because this game is running like crap right now.

So that is what I mean by bad deeds -- they are not using the money to improve or fix the game, they are using scummy monetization models in a pay to play game, not designed for a pay to play game, which is incredibly greedy, and came up with an "event" that in reality was just an advertisement for their battle pass to make even more money.

I'm sorry, that's not something I'm going to praise over, or defend. And maybe someday I can forgive them for it, but it's not something I'll forget.

    TL;DR

One good deed (after doing a bad deed) doesn't rectify all of the previous bad deeds. I point to my previous post of all the things that is currently wrong with the game.

People aren't just angry with just the event. This is an accumulation of things that has been boiling in the pot for years up to this point. It's just that the Halloween event (or lack thereof) has caused the foam to start overflowing the pot.

lmao what is the "bad deed" you speak off? not giving away more cosmetic skins for free? you get 10k shards that you can keep and spend on a new original DLC, you can get all the skins except the ghostface because hes licensed, for free with gameplay time, you cant do that with the original blight skins, which are now on sale and have been on sale before, get the next original survivor or killer for free instead of getting a cosmetic skin if you like. you also get BP for free and a 2x bloodhunt event. you even got pumpkin gens and pumpkins in the manu theme. I dont see what people are so up in arms for. If all you care about are the collectibles and the dopamine points at the end of the day, why even bother playing the game if the gameplay isnt fun? you guys will always find away to complain. If they just did game health instead of doing an event or a new chapter you all would complain about lack of content etc, nothing is never good enough. considering theres a pandamic still ongoing and almost all the devs work from home, they did a pretty good job compared to last years "halloween event" bet you all already forgot that last years event was even worse, wasnt even on halloween.

    ######### are you saying dude?

I've been saving my iridescent shards since halloween 2018 and only spent on DLCS and one Jane costume.

This event should be like the last 2 instead of the way was released. Every person who complained about being too greedy is right and now every person who is complaining about the price change is right too.

You should put yourself in the place of other people and try to see why they are feeling this way instead of being so close mind.

    Good luck.

Im not the one whos petty about spending fiat money on in game skins, theyre cosmetics. I bought all my DLCs with actuall money instead of game time. id rather get the BP from the shrine then use that many shards on cosmetics.

  • the unpredictable chaos that is current matchmaking makes this game really fun as a killer or for survivors just messing arround with weird builds, but can be miserable as survivor if you care about escaping every game. This game in its current form and balance is very "casual" even if most players think its competitive, for some reason? RNG based tile spawns, gen spawns, survivor/killer spawn can almost dictate the outcome of the match before skill is even considered and how the MMR is even gonna predict skill is beyond me, dont see how it actually works. a "rank 20" meg that doesn't look behind her at rank 1 throwing down all the pallets and lasting for a long time, is a good player now? but the rest of the survivors having 0 resources to work with are "bad" players because they go down fast? how is this system gonna take that into account? also, if all the high MMR survivors actually gets paired up with survivors of equal skill then all theyre gonna see are spirits, good nurses, deathslingers, feddys and maybe huntresses. great fun those killers.

  • well in my situatons, the only times DH works is for distance to reach a vault or a pallet, but those times youre in a deadzone and I deadhard as they hit, I get exhausted for 1 sec and then the debuff disappears as if I never got exhausted in the first place. so I dont do it to late, it feels like its too early.

    Ahh, here we go again.

If DBD wasn't competitive game then there wouldn't be so many competitive aspecs to it. I'm not even talking about only those ingame like ranking system etc but those that were created by the players themselfs, biggest indication of a competitive game.

We have meta, large amount of skilled streamers, insane amount of balance discussions, constant balance patches, high skill celling klillers, insane amount of information needed to be a good player and so so much more. People never go around and just agree when someone says "Hey I'm new here and this killer called Nurse is so hard to play so can we buff her so that new players can enjoy her too". No, everyone tells them to either gid gut or gives them tips to improve, nobody ever says yeah nurse is hard for new playrs let's buff her.

I'd go on more about this topic but I feel like you're hard set on your opinion so writing more would just be a waste. I'm not saying that you aren't allowed to disagree with me and that you have to adopt my view on the game but if you want to discuss whether DBD is or isn't competetive game you'll have to make serious arguments and not excuses.

I'm not planning on ignoring your future respones because your disagree with me but because you disagree with me and aren't progressing the discussion with logical points supported by some actuall evidence/examples. You just say "it's casual game and not competetive" but you lack any actuall examples or points that would suggest so.

you mean to tell me the competitive aspect of this game, the argument you chose to use, rest soley on the fact that people try to make this game competitive on the outside of this game? As in telling people to get gud with hard killers? And tournaments made up by players for fun in their spare time? that no one takes seriously? People calling this asymetrical online "pvp" game unbalanced? Man just dont respond to me anymore, this is getting stupid. Dark souls isnt a competitive game, yet there are tournaments in those games. Doesnt mean its an esports title. get real.

  • Sprint burst is the best when it comes to spreading out and being the most efficient at fixing gens, because youre technically safe anywhere on the map from M1 killers, not very fun playstyle tho. Dead hard is fun when it works and want to be chased.

I feel like you're missing the point, I don't want seperate casual mode, I'm just laughing at the silly argument that DBD is a casual game when it has so many traits of competetive game. Just because it doesn't match all conditions of competetive games due to it's asymetrical nature still doesn't make it a casual game and definetly doesn't somehow mean we should balance it around casuals. But if you'd like, I'm all for massive nurse buffs since she's historically weakest killer when played by casual gamers. Balancing around casuals would be so funny to watch.

Also please either be constructive or I'll just ignore you if you have anything more to say, so please no silly arguments like "thing X is boring because I don't like it so it needs to be nerfed".

Nurse is the best killer in the game still, what are you even on about? buffing her becuase people suck at playing her? that makes no sense. what.

You play different against Mr. YeeHaw. With Huntress you just keep looping her around the pallet until you know she isn’t going to throw a hatchet. With Mr. YeeHaw you just drop the pallet early. Can he still shoot you? Sure! But what use is it if the pallet is already down? Unlike Huntress he’s unable to down you over a pallet. I was against one earlier today and I just kept throwing pallets early and looping him until he would break them. The entire team escaped. He has a lot of counter play. Giving him some sort of cool down for aiming would make him almost unplayable. And unlike Huntress who throws whales at you his hit boxes are incredibly small. He’s rewarded for having good aim, that’s it. If survivors continuously dodge his aim (which is possible as I was doing it in my survivor match) he just becomes a basic M1 killer.

I don’t think it’s fair to compare him to Huntress. She can down people over pallets. He can’t. She has an add-on that allows her to insta-down from close range. He does not. Her hit boxes are huge. His are not. Taking away his ability to freely aim without some sort of cool down would be such a terrible and unnecessary idea.

I actually agree with this, you just play him like a clown, drop every pallet early and he wont catch you, and if you play against decent players that know how to bodyblock and break the chain then he loses a lot of pressure, I don't think he is as unfair in chase as everyone else says he is, but I do think his TR with MAA is stupid, I run him with nurses calling and can see people heal outside my terror radius. taking away his quickscope would just make him unfun to play.

For non-competitive game it's pretty weird that there's no casual mode and only ranked one but I won't discuss this since it would take ages to reach any solid understanding.

As for the "boring killers" argument, that's very subjective, I find those 3 fun to face due to higher difficulty in predicting their actions which is really fun for me unlike casual M1 looping where killer is powerless to do anything but force down the pallet which nobody talks about how unfair it is towards the killer.

They have different counterplay then avergame M1 killer which is what makes people dislike them so much. They change the fundamentals of average chases and people just don't know what to do since they never bothered to learn.

it takes ages to come to an "understanding" because you wont take any actual reason as a "good response". Even the devs have stated they wont make different queues because of queue time being an issue, if they split the player base into multiple queues the queue time will become longer, thats why theres only survivor and killer queue and nothing else. it isn't hard to understand. And having "unranked casual" queue doesn't mean only casuals play in that queue, good competitive players often queue up to bully or destroy casual players. the casual queue in DBD is the regular queue we have right now anyway, rank doesn't matter or indicate skill, rank 10-1 is the same skill level, all rank is an indication of how much you play.

  • Yes we should give every survivor Kindred, bond, empathy, OoO every aura reading perk known to the entity and buff every killers accordingly so every survivor playing solo has the ability to run BT, DS + Unbreakable, and the best exhaustion perk sprint burst. that way we can all compete optimally every game at being the best in this Esports ready game, since this game is a competitive game after all, that will help balance this esports ready game. we should also remake every map to be like Coal tower and Father cambells chappel and remove RNG so we don't get any overly good settups and remove all luck so we can actively messure individual skill of each player, because thats whats most important.

  • To be fair, you have to be a very skilled killer to play Spirit. The timing on her phase attack is extremely subtle, without a solid grasp on your mouse to use it, which the typical killer simply is unable to do, you're going to 0k. There's also Spirit's mindgames that you have to take into account, do you use your phase at a pallet to hit the person on the other side, or do you simply do nothing and wait for the survivor to do it on their own? The best Spirit mains understand this stuff. To this day I have never understood how anyone considers Leatherface useless. Compared to spirit without add-ons, he's stronger. Instant downs, pallet breaks, and normal speed vs spirit with slow speed and a power that enforces chance. Deathslinger need pin point accuracy to land hits, you know what Im talking about if you ever played MW2 back in the day, if he hits you its because hes a good shot. Its not the killers ADS, and instant cooldown and zoning potential that makes the slinger good, If you juke the Slinger its because he missed his mark.

I'm not bad. I don't play as a killer that can zoom across the map, and actually have to travel. Travel time = gen repair time which usually = gen popping by the time I get to the other side of the map. But 80s is fine though, right? Cmon dude. You literally just admitted how fast gens go, but your cool w the same 80s BS? You can literally cut that time in half to 40s...

Im cool with 80 because the natural slowdown of the game is good enough late game, making gens take 40 seconds longer is a bad solution, and theyre implementing the trial warmup mechanic that will try to fix early game pressure. so yea I don't think 120 seconds is good, and we have to see how the trial warmup mechanic works so comeon dude, get gud and stop complaining.

  • youre bad at the game? you fail to find survivors and get a down fast enough? it just happenes sometimes when spawns are bad, it doesn't really matter how fast gens pop tbh, most of my matches starts with 2 or 3 gens getting popped to fast, but slugging and snowballing ends with a 4k most of the time.

Gens can be less than 80 also w the right perks, and add-ons as surv, correct?

its can but its rare and less efficiant than spreading out and doing gens individually.

  • The netural slowdown of the game by playing good and getting downs and hooks is good enough, only issue is initating first chase and finding the first survivor on some maps, Scotts trial warmup is a good solution, as long as Wraiths dont hide in corners of the map for the whole duration. just got to wait and see how the new mechanic theyre testing out is gonna work.

  • GhostFace has been kinda broken for a long time, breaking him out is so inconsistent. I don't find clown that annoying, its really easy to avoid his gas by playing supersafe while everyone else does gens.

Doctor and freddy however, super annoying killers, I remember doctors change was to make him less annoying, but hes just become worse than ever, and Freddy is a small killer whos hard to mindgame and his redstain isn't allways clear and visibile when youre in deep sleep. It also doesn't help with positioning when he has the lunge of a tall killer like trapper when hes soo small.

Not always possible as there are loops on handon field that the huntress can't realistically use her hatchets(Such as 2nd story/car house fall vaults) to try to stop and are infinites if not for blood lust.

huntress often loses chase on haddonfield so bloodlust doesn't always work for her there, best thing is to stop chasing and look for someone else.
