Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there are no refunds as per our EULA, any item purchased can go on sale at any time.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I'm out. Good luck for ones who is staying.

Okay that's your point of view and it's also valid. But the point of view of devs is how to make sure that people who wants to get refunded don't try to cheat 'em.

Look at Legacy. It's probably the most worst exclusive they've released ever. So many problems with that and people who earned it and lost it still did not get refunded because the devs wants a consitent functioning system to find out if you're right or not.

And they don't have anything reliable.

So the only way to find a compromise is to bind some shards to a redeemable code but this one would be for everyone and it wouldn't be as high as you want/need it to because it still would be for everyone.

So the only way to mitigate is to ask very friendly for a public code with idk 4k shards and that would be for everyone an awesome thing.

Asking for a refund won't do anything

Well, the refund is totally viable and would be the best for us and bhvr interests but due the history of bhvr this is almost impossible but i don't need to stop asking just because this.

They just need to do something, release a statement saying they are not going to do anything because they can't or they don't what to, give the refunds and say is gonna take a little bit of time or just like you said give everybody more shards which i think is not going to happen because the new chapter will be released soon and if it is not licensed, people can use the shards to buy it and BHVR will make less money.

It's up to them, we are just doing what we can for them to make what is morally right.

But theyre also gifting shards every day now til Nov 2nd. So you can easily buy another skin you like. Isn't that fair enough?

If they wouldnt I mean I would get your point and say yea that wasnt the play tho.

And I am sure there will be a redeemable code for some shards the next few days. But for the devs it's way to complex to make sure that specificly male sure you got joked on. Just sayin after 4 years they still cant release one single patch without tons of new bugs.

I made a big post on the 10th page but let me say it again.

I lost 25600 with is 100 levels or 1 devotion. With the 10k back i'll still 15600 loss which is more than 50 levels or half a devotion.

So yeah, i'm not going to be happy with the 10k. And a lot of people said that iri shard are FREE so you don't need to complain but well, yeah they are free so why they can't refund a FREE currency? hmm?

That's all, i'm just trying to explain the clearly. Thanks.

    1. You know about Black Friday and can calculate your purchases

    2. You can expect new skins to sell out 2-3 months after their release but not 2 days. It's obviously.

and 3. We never had a Iridescent Shard sale. This was the first time.

  • @Akito said:

That's like sayin: Yo on Black Friday I got this pants for 5$. But when it was released I payed about 40$. I wanna get refunded.

This doesnt make any sense dude. Idk how much you spent but I bought between 250 and 300 skins. I own all DLCs and I also bought the battle pass. Do I complain about a idk 50% off for all DLCs or sth? No, because it doesnt make any sense at all.

That's common sense. But when you buy a skin for 21k and some people bought it with Auric cells for HOURS later the prices goes down without no warning at all. Thats the whole point of the thread.

And like me and other people said, some companies, even with their "no refund policy" still gives refunds for consumers that bought an item 1 or 2 days before a major sales was in place even if they announced which didn't happen is this specific occasion.

    Have a nice day.

  • @PapaBless said:

So if you bought ice cream and on the next day you see it with big discount you also ask for the refund? I understand that unexpected sales sucks, but it's definitely not the reason to give you any refund. It's your choice to buy it or not. If you wanna stop playing because of it, it's your choice also.

    Read this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1706677/#Comment_1706677

TLDR: The sales was a band aid fix for some players but a massive scummy move for other players.

Yet you kind of complaints cause people to bully them as well. And the "no refund" policy may not be right to you, but by law its absolute. You need to accept it or you are just gonna waste energy complaining when YOU signed the agreement without reading it first.

I know you understand that companies can overrule the EULA if they see fit. You don't look like someone without any kind of education. If they don't want to do it, its alright. already said this a thousand times.

    Good night man.

  • @Kind_Lemon said:

poor customer service seems to be a trend...

this is not saying anything about the devs as people but as a subgroup of BHVR.

    Same!

imo is just a bunch of wrong decisions while the whole team is stressed out to release new content every 3 months and still making content for tomes, rifts, skins and still need to deal with the same old bugs and complains about them.

I know all these things are hard but we still can complain if we think something is not right and this "no refund policy" in this specific case is not.

I'm personally only posting about this here on this thread and isent the link of this thread for some people who were being bullied on Reddit. Not bullying bhvr employees on DMs nor the poor twitter guy.

  • @Kurasuma said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1707359#Comment_1707359

Ok, bruh. I'm whining. Yea sure. You guys are also ASKING BHVR and not DEMANDING at all. Thats completely obvious. And you are SUCH hardcore fans and VERY loyal.

I really hope the sarcasm is apparent. I dont see how I've whined at all. I'm just telling people to stop complaining as you are. BHVR is working on stuff for us and these reworks are taking a lot so instead of doing a hardcore event, they gave us something so they can put everything they have into what they are working on. And saying they didnt give you the "right" event shows how entitled you are being and all the whining is apparent in the whole " Give me a refund! I want a refund! You need to refund me the difference!" BHVR has a lot on their plate as they try to work on the game and yet you all are LITERALLY crying about shards you got for free. Sure, I understand those who spent real money but everybody else needs to get over it. They are already compensating for the loss as best as they can RIGHT NOW so leave them alone. Let them work on the ACTUAL problems and not you greed.

I think is common sense that they are working in a bunch on things. That's why they have multiple teams inside of the company to deal with each part of their business. I'm not going to stop complaining just because "they did their best", "it's free currency", "you should get over this" and etc.

I hope until Tuesday we have a response and then i will stop posting about it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1706677#Comment_1706677

One thing you forgot to cover on is that this discount only came about because of whining players. They brought it up because players were complaining about the event. So dont whine at bhvr. Whine at those players. The devs are working tirelessly on all the crap you all ######### about and so to bring you the nerds, buffs, and reworks you all wanted, they released a simplistic Halloween event. Everybody bitched about it. So they released the discount, people bitched about it. So they gave free shards. And people are still bitching. Dude, just leave them alone. You aren't giving them any less stress then they already were and they are probably ready to croak. Leave them alone

Sure, the discounts were given because people complained and they were right.

They gave the discount without thinking about us, the loyal and hardcore fans and we have the right to complain too.

The only entity guilty here is BHVR in the first place for not giving the "right" Halloween event. Is not the people who complained nor we who got ripped off because a bad decision.

Also can also keep calling us whiners because that's not going to change the fact the we can ASK for a position from BHVR even they don't want to give the refund. And for me, the crazy part is that i'm doing this because i like the game if i didn't like it i was not playing it the amount i play. And for you this thread is literally nothing. Looks like you're not affected by the discounts like us but you still keep whining about how we are whiners.

    Pretty funny stuff.

  • Let me be clear here.

I spent 43600 iridescent shards ONE day before they got discount to 9000 iridescent shards. With some quick maffs we can see that i lost 25600 shards with is less than the 10k shards they are giving away.

25600 is a little bit more than one devotion level or 100 levels as you can see here:

    image.png

    Source: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Player_Level

Now lets see some people explanation and i will try my best to counter argument.

"You should not buy things first day. The amount of backlash they receive it was OBVIOUS they were going to do something"

Ok, but i bought the skins hours before they got discounted and i personally do not follow Behaviour in any social platform nor enter the forum to see thing about the game. I just play the game. The time someone told me the event was not good was the same time i entered the game and discord with my friends and they told me. Before that i didn't touched DBD for almost one month because the rift grind and i wanted to play other games during that time. So this mindset that i SHOULD know they were going to drop the prices or that i SHOULD wait (even that i did) doesn't make any sense. We can't predict thing neither Behaviour and in the regard they fricked up, not us, the consumers

"Why would you care? They are giving 10k away and bloodpoints! you should be happy"

No. I lost 100 levels which is hours of grind and i'm not going to be happy. These days tons of devs prefer to bring tons of new players in the hope they get hooked in the game and spend some money while the hardcore fanbase doesn't get anything because they thing that we already hooked and they don't need to appeal for us anymore. And what is better: one hardcore player buying dlcs through steam or 20 new players doing the same? it's a no brainer. This things already happen to me on mostly fighting games and Dota with that horrendous patch 7.00.

"Their EULA has no refunds policy. The support already responded"

The support guys are just doing their job. Their response is going to be the same for everybody because they follow rules and if they break them they can lose their job. I'm not going to DM every person who works on Behaviour about this because it's not their fault. They are just doing their jobs We are waiting on a Behaviour official statement about this situation and not a mod or support ticket. Also do not spam the twitter guy, he just like to post memes and has nothing to do with this nor spam the subreddit because they like more memes instead of discussions and conversations.

"If they refund is going to open a breach and everybody is going to want a refund"

They can refund and let CLEAR that is only happening because they did a mistake and they didn't find morally right with they players who bought before the price drop. This not only blocks any possibility of people trying to twist the EULA but also give Behaviour some respect from the one who got shafted by this event.

"I would be happy if i was you, i bought with Auric cells"

This thread is for you too, everybody who bought before the changed should be refunded, doesn't matter if was Shards or Cells.

The best we can do right now is to keep this thread alive until Tuesday because we are in the middle of a weekend and i would not like if someone from the team is spend their free time dealing with work problems. I would expect a official statement from Behaviour this week about this and after that each person affected by this can do whatever they want.

This thread was not made to hurt anybody in anyway just to make Behaviour see that they can't frick their loyal and hardcore players without any repercussion. I want to thanks all the people who created forum accounts to post their experience and thanks all the negative people who helped and still helping this post not to die.

Ps: My English is trash but if you understand, my job is done.

I'm so frustrated with the bait and switch - pay $21k for a costume then a deep discount after two days with no refund. This has never happened - absolutely no precedent - and is a complete redesign, so it's not like long time players would expect it. Shards take forever to save up and they are really just hurting their dedicated players when they do things like this. I've been playing for three years and have never complained - just strive to enjoy the game (bugs and all), but this is so wrong. I literally created a forum account to voice my thoughts on this issue alone because I'm so disappointed in BHVR's lack of care for their core customer base. I sent a support email early yesterday, and I haven't even received an acknowledgement, let alone a resolution or refund. Very sad. This is my favorite game. Hope this type of thing doesn't continue or I may need to find a new favorite.

    @ComaKitten said:

I made an account to voice my frustration. I've been playing since the Halloween chapter, and have spent a fair amount on this game. This event is lackluster as hell, and the response to all the negative feedback was to put this year's outfits on sale after the backlash. I did purchase the Legion outfit, and my girlfriend purchased the Yui outfit. It is extremely unfair that us, and everyone who looked forward to this event and spent their shards/cells on day 1 and 2 got shafted hard. The 21k shards take what, like 2 devotion levels up to obtain? I could have gotten the Legion and Blight costumes for less than the original 21k for just one costume. The lack of response from Behavior is getting tiring, there are many bugs being reported, and some affect the current Tome. The Tome challenges aren't even working properly either, and that's supposed to be the main attraction to this event.

Thanks both of you for creating a account and made your voice be heard. Now we just wait.

I feel so ######### scammed. I had to choose between the rift and the you outfit because no way was I going to have time to grind 21k shards. I bought the you outfit with Aric cells and now youre telling me I couldve had it for free and instead used my cells for the rift?? are you serious??? Its crazy the most biggest supporters of the game are being scammed while everyone else who held out and complained get what they want. Im baffled honestly. I tried playing today and I couldnt. I feel so gross playing knowing how little they care about their most dedicated players like myself.

    Right?

This was one of the worst moves i ever seen from a developer trying to band-aid fix a event.

They should just let the skins being 21k and give more iri shards for everybody but they don't want that because we can use shards to buy original chapters.

Anyway i hope they see that they fricked up and just refund everybody and then everybody will be happy.

The people who are saying we are "bitchin" are going to be happy, the twitter people are going to be happy and us, the people who play the most and support the most are going to be happy.

Exactly!!! I was saving up shards for so long and it took me AGES to get over 40k for anything worth it. I bet BHVR just syphoned those shards out so people have to actually buy DLCs instead of earning them with shards. Guess what, no money is coming out of my wallet anymore. I'm done with this.

if you're only playing dbd to get iri shards to eventually purchase cosmetics i think quitting is a great idea, it shouldn't feel like a job and iri shards shouldn't feel like necessary payment for doing so. if it's really that tedious, at least take a break for your own sake. i plan to do the same honestly, it's really hard to enjoy a game everyone else is so vocally miserable about all the time.

Obviously i don't play only to get Iridescent Shards but seeing all the shards i got since 2018 being literally "scammed" like that is not something that will make me put a fake smile in my face and keep playing.

  • @hagling said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1704229#Comment_1704229

okay but some of us paid actual money so from your position getting 3 free skins sounds like a pretty amazing deal, i'd love to be in your shoes. i assume you thought about the hours you'd put into the game earning those shards before purchasing either of the halloween skins initially? you must've thought they were worth it at the time, right? and now because you aren't getting 5 free skins instead of 3 you'd be willing to quit DBD, or at least threaten to. surely you understand how that sounds.

i'm really not trying to trashtalk, that's just a pretty strange hill to die on.

Dude, i literally lost hours of grind because of this. I don't consider this "free skins" because you need to play a bunch to get one of them. And its not about getting refund to buy more skins, is getting a refund to buy the same skins for the discounted prices and keep all my hours grind still.

If you can't play the same amount you can get with real money but this is not the point of the thread.

And yeah, if they don't refund ill just quit because i don't want to support/play a game with bad devs. already did this in the past with other games.

wait so you used free currency to buy two full halloween outfits and now you're mad they're giving you enough shards for a third halloween outfit you also don't have to pay for? and you want a refund.. on your free currency.. so you can get more outfits for free? πŸ‘β€πŸ—¨πŸ‘„πŸ‘β€πŸ—¨

i paid $10 for the yui outfit before i knew, but now i can get the feng outfit for free. that's.. not something to complain about.

    No, i'm not mad.

The whole point is: I bought 2 skins for 21k each and one day later they are 9k each. So i want a refund not only for me but everybody who bought for 21k. This has nothing with the free Iridescent and Bloodpoints.

Also iridescent shards are free currency but is earned by playing the game. If you lost hundreds of hours you would be requesting the same thing.

Just try to put yourself in the other people shoes before trashtalking.

    Thanks and good luck.

Kind of funny the say they've "heard" our complaints about the event yet I don't see a dev symbol to say they've replied to this discussion.

Wonder will they just ignore these discussions?

My prediction is: a mod is going to post here the link to another post where a dev acknowledge the problem and they are not going to do anything about it.

Yea... i bought the Legion and Blight halloween skins at full price too, because i was like... maybe later they add the vials and i can use these vials to get the old ones and then if i buy them now i can get more halloween skins...

but now they make this discount, who make 2 skins cheaper than just buy one at full price.

wich is nice, if they give us the difference... but no, they don't, and this make me sad...

i also send a ticked asking for get the price difference back, and get the same answer.... but that answer no have sense, i mean, if they can inject currency to accounts who say they lost progress by a bug, who stop them to inject currency now? nothing.

they just don't want to do it, and is very unfair.

and no, the dailys don't solve this

if people who buy them early don't get the difference back means the ones who buy them now ends with more shards, why they deserve more shards? is not fair.

I never saw their giving iridescent shards to people but i never saw sale on iridescent shards sets so... the fair thing is just refund everybody who bought for 21k.

    Simple as that.

  • @PlantCollector said:

Im sorry but i can't get over this so i have to bring it up again.

Why are the people who bought the skins earlier (i'd say a lot of us even waited for the official confirm of no serum in the battle pass this year) and who are actually supporting the game now beeing punished with the skin discount?

Some of us buy the chapters with real money and save the shards for cool outfits, while others bought the new cosmetics with cells and now could get them so much cheaper for shards. Im honestly speechless. We were actually supporting the game, even when some of us aren't happy at all with the ways the game is going but still hoping for the best and now we feel like getting backstabbed.

Having the playerbase complain about the event is bad, but punishing some of them by trying to fix that is even worse. This is such a harsh feeling of betrayal that i can't get over with. I really can't.

I really hope you reconsider your desicion and don't screw some of us over in such a bad and unnessecary way.

For exemple, last time i played dbd was one month ago because i got burned out by grinding level 70 rift. I don't follow BHVR on any platform nor access the forum everyday because i don't want to know more about the game.

I came back when the new rift was released, played some days and decided to spent 42k on 2 skins because i don't have any cosmetics for yui or Feng even that i don't play with them. I didn't even saw people talking ######### about the event the only thing i heard was one of my friends who mostly play with me saying that there was no serum this year. Idk how people are saying that "we should predicted or they talked about the sale" just dumb.

Then they changed the prices for 9k from nothing and i think the right thing to do is to refund every single person who bought it during the normal price.

"im not going to forget everything" - what exactly are you referring to here? there is nothing they tried to make up for by giving the discount, so what is there that, in your opinion, they need to be forgiven for?

and your support ticket may still be "pending", but you got the answer - you even posted it here. the answer is "no refunds". they've always done it that way and this case is highly unlikely to change that.

and i am "losing my precious time posting here", because i want to.

good to see that you can not handle critisism though.

Not forgetting that they did a scummy move. I could also include some personal experiences with bhvr but i don't think it's fair.

The people working on the Ticket system just follow a rule book, what i'm saying about "waiting for a official statement" is to someone from the main team acknowledges that they fricked their most loyal players and what they are going to do about it.

Also i don't think there is any kind of criticism here because i posted what i think they should do. I see our conversation more like a useless argument that no one is going to win or anything because your opinion has nothing to do with the spirit of the thread.

I'm not fighting you or anything man, i just want to see if Behavior is going to do the right thing instead of defend themselves with the User Agreement.

    what problem?

the "problem" that they literally gift you a whole skin and more?

would you rather them not doing any of that?

could they have done it better? yes. they should have announced the discount when they put the skins in the shop / delayed the release of the skins and give them out together with the discount.

is that enough of a reason to demand a full on refund? definitely not. you already talked to the support about this, you got your official answer right there. plus by buying the cosmetics when they came out you were able to use them earlier than others who didnt.

I'm not going to forget everything just because they gave me a free skin.

Also my support ticket is still open and i'm waiting for the response. Then i'll do whatever. Also i'm not demanding a refund, i just think people who spent the 21k should get a refund and that's all.

If you didn't spent 21k or more on the skins and you don't think this is a problem, why you're losing your precious time posting here?

Just congratulate BHVR on their twitter or something.

personally i thought 2 things were going to happen, 1 nothing and these skins will stay that way, or 2 they will allow us to get syrum from either gens or plants(which both are in the game). but instead there was this unprecedented move to lower the shards price.

Ok easy just give everyone a partial refund right? Everyone will be happy

    and Nothing so far

So people ask for what in my opinion they deserve, but seemingly half the people are just laughing that someone just got screwed over...

Like whats with the lack of empathy?

Are these all the people who run DS unbreakable or Mori's everygame... idk

People just don't care about other people situation even when they are not affected by it. Its normal.

But instead of shitposting here they should stay silent while expect a official statement from bhvr.

nobody told you to buy them on release day. be more patient, be wiser.

    I didn't. i bought yesterday.

You can now get one more Halloween outfit with the discount and iridescent shards they are giving you, what's there to be unhappy about. Yes you could have gained more if you waited but its not like your losing anything smh

Yeah, i'm not losing anything, just HOURS of grind.

I'm expecting the same words Sony used in their UX presentation: "We believe that your playtime is variable and should be meaningful"

I don't understand the lack of empathy in this thread. Has Claudette taught us nothing?

    Right?

still, what did they do wrong? they choose the price of their skins, they can change it whenever they want it. This stuff happens a lot of times, in like video games, or streetwear markets. I'm not judging them for using the EULA as an excuse, I don't really see why they should refund people just cause people took an L.

Like i said, they can do whatever but ethically refund is the right thing to do. That's it.

Wait what happened? I'm lost. Is this about loss when trying to link with Bhvr accounts?

They changed the iridescent shards prices for the Halloween sets from 21600 to 9000 and don't want to refund people who bought before the change.

Nothing to do with linking bhvr accounts.

  • @YaiPa said:

I mean, I'm sorry to tell you that, for once, BHVR doesn't have any faults. I mean, it's just like when you bought a game day one, then a months after the game gets discounted. You just took the L, period. Why should you get a refund? Wouldn't be the same, like if you bought Blight only for undying, just to find the day after that undying is in the shrine?

Is pretty simple, they have the EULA to defend them but this is a question of principles. Also we are not talking about months, we are talking about 2 days and with a currency that NEVER had any sale.

They can refund the shards for us, the people who play tons of the game and enjoy it. Opening a exception on the EULA for this specific case or they can say "frick you we are right" and keep going.

I didn't DEMAND refund i just said that's the right thing to do ethically.

the cosmetics from previous events werent sold for Irishards and could be earned through grindy prosses, theyre Auric cells only now, these new ones were sold for shards aswell as auric cells. and for those hording shards would get them for free. a lot of people were complaining that it was too grindy now all you suckers that didnt care and bought them anyway complain theyre on sale. lmao you guys will never be happy

    ######### are you saying dude?

I've been saving my iridescent shards since halloween 2018 and only spent on DLCS and one Jane costume.

This event should be like the last 2 instead of the way was released. Every person who complained about being too greedy is right and now every person who is complaining about the price change is right too.

You should put yourself in the place of other people and try to see why they are feeling this way instead of being so close mind.

    Good luck.

  • Not only with the Blight. Every killer is like that.

    Heartbeat volume is too low.

  • You need to remove the cap on the gamefiles to play above 60hz.

They just updated the auras as you can see on my post above.

Thanks BHVR, i still think we should get options to change colors, saturation, opacity and brightness.

  • Because takes less time to complete all the grind the player would complete the grind and just leave the game.

The way is right now they fish less players but this players get so invested into the game that they spend money in the store and play for 5~6k hours.

Your ideia is gonna fish more players but because there is less grind they are gonna finish the grind and stop buying or playing.

Imo focusing on the hardcore players is better because they are willing to spend the most, not the beginners.

  • Playing solo Rank 1 you always get one rank 1 and 2 rank 15 or less.

SWF is getting low rank killers.

To those asking why they had to change the auras, here’s their explanation...

    Q: Why change the auras?

The auras were the source of quite a few technical headaches. The rework of the aura system was intended to give our programming teams cleaner code and a more stable aura system. Unfortunately, this had some unintended side effects on visibility. We heard your feedback and are working to improve their visibility. We will have a temporary fix in place shortly as we continue to work on a more permanent solution.
