  • Other than the ones mentioned, I would add Beast of Prey, Dying Light and Monstrous Shrine

Some would probably say Fire Up, however I feel its not useless, just underpowered. Some would also say Hangman's Trick, but it is just extremely situational, not useless.
  • What if he sets the trap in his hand like opening a book and then tosses in the ground? Fast and stylish animation for trap setting.
  • Except for the double pallet near the bathroom and the lack of lockers in certain spots, it is the best map ever designed. Allows ground for outstanding plays, honestly.
  • Well, too bad for them for absorbing the wrong meaning of the acronym.
  • I am one of those who "gg"s after every match, whether I obliterate or get obliterated. Its just being polite to others.

We’re his add-ons the only thing that got buffed?
No, scroll up a little bit. His base kit is getting changed as well. This includes a built-in Windstorm effect when uncloaking and just A BIT stronger against flashlights and the possibility of  moving around slowly when blinded during the uncloaking (or was that for all killers when blinded? I forgot).
  • I should rewatch it, or more like watch it in the first place. Years ago, I just happened to find it while zapping through from time to time, and managed to catch bits of episodes.
  • The trap itself doesnt cause anything on Survivors, other than jumpscaring them in real life, by default. Her add-ons are what give them special effects, such as deafening, slowing them down, blocking the way, and some others.
  • Not even the community works.
  • Bald Dwights. I always find them so out of place.
  • Was expecting the thread to be about "killers being able to kill" because of the changes. Disappointed it was actually serious.
  • I wasn't talking about flashlight saves, I was just talking about the pickup speed in general.

Well, then what is the problem then if its not about flashlights? It doesnt change anything otherwise.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Personally, hatch standoffs are the worst thing to deal with. They delay the game in a cheap way, and is a game of "Who's has more patience" it's always me, but still lol.
I'm so excited to hop onto DbD and try trappers new add-ons. I hat being at work when these things release, because I have to wait to try them. Also, thank you @PinkEricka (if you were talking about me) I try to remain completely optimistic, and positive about things :)
Out of curiousity, Why are you getting involved in hatch stand-offs? If the survivor has found the hatch then they have won.. I don’t mean to be rude but do you feel that obligated to acquire a kill?
Well, if the game was over by then, why are killers able to pull Survivors from entering the hatch? Same could be said about Blood Warden.

Sure, depends to each person. But those who do not consider the trial to be over, who strictly believe it to end when the Survivors are out, then they are found in a hideously irritating situation.

(Actually, it would be interesting if Blood Warden worked on the hatch...)
  • Raise your hand if you came to this thread thinking people were discussing Sole Survivor? 🙋
  • Technician should work like this: Your expertise with machinery makes you very proficient with operations. You repair generators 4%/8%/12% faster, and gain 1%/2%/3% extra progression upon hitting a Great Skill Check. The noise of repairing generators is reduced by 12/16/20 meters.

I would prefer if it stayed as a stealth perk rather than just a gen-rush perk.
  • I am mostly comfortable with the perk as it is right now. But, if it gets buffs, yay!
  • True Nightmare would be extremely interesting. Would it let you inherit their powers or act like the Doctor's illusions (as in their powers affecting the players in certain ways but you still being Freddy)?

I love you forever just for this post.
  • @ProfoundEnding said:
For Feng, with Technician,  having a 50% chance for the generator to not explode isn't a low chance if you ask me lol.

Oh, I thought it was 30% at maximum, my bad. 50% isn't terrible. Though, you should just not miss the skill check in the first place, with the only exception being something like Overcharge which IS the perk Technician is trying to counter what with Feng Min and The Doctor being linked and all.

Well, but at the same time, Survivors should just not die, they should not heal within the terror radius of a killer with NC, they shouldnt have looped that one spot. You cannot really judge a perk by how you should perform, but rather how it helps you. Same deal with Stake Out.

If you are a new player, or just suck at skill checks, or you get distracted, those perks can save you. A bit situational, maybe. But still not as much as Unbreakable. :P

I would place them like this:
    1) Meg: SB, Adrenaline and QnQ. Three really powerful perks and widely used. The first one is meta, second one is meta-ish but not quite and QnQ is a stealth players' second best friend.
    2) Claudette: She is only here for Self Care, really. Sure, Botany Knowledge is strong, but mainly paired with items or perks from other survivors. Empathy is potentially strong, I feel. I would rather use Bond.
    3) Nea: Balanced Landing is the weaker one of tje Exhaustion perks, but its benefits help a lot with chases on maps with drops. Urban Evasion is stealth's best friend. Streetwise is ok.
    4) Laurie: DS, enough said. The OoO and Sole Survivor combo is just decent. If you want awareness of the killer's position, I would rather take stuff like Premonition or Spine Chill, as they have a much lower risk (as the Obsession, youll most likely get tunnelled) and price (two perk slots vs one).
    5) Feng: Lithe is the second best Exhaustion perk, being usable in every map and draws quite a distance between you and the killer. Technician is decent with the skillchecks stuff I mentioned above, even though I would pick something else instead. Alert is a bit situational, but good enough. Still, same deal with OoO and SS, I would take something else.
    6) Quentin: He is my main, so I am a bit biased. :P Pharmacy is really good for healing, not as good as SC, and it also helps with faster chest searches. Wake Up helps at time of most danger (at least imo). And Vigil is powerful when used with the most desired perks.
    7) Tapp: Stake Out counters Ruin hardcore, especially in Gideon's Plant. Detective's Hunch is fine, maybe requiring a bit of luck. Tenacity is quite situational.
    8) David (this one can change, maybe higher): Dead Hard is effective, but I feel a missed attack gives less distance compared to other Exhaustion perks. It helps with ranged killers like Huntress, but at the same time, killers can bait it or counter it with a bit of ease. WGLF, bonus BP, yay. This is middle ground, I feel, depending on your objectives while playing and how you perform. No Mither though... I believe this perk is what its pushing him down in my list.
    9) Jake: Mainly here for Iron Will. Another stealth-er's best friend. Calm Spirit, in its current state, nah (and even after it gets changed, not my favourite). Saboteur, outdated.
    10) Dwight: Bond is certainly good. My issue is that his two other perks hurt you (in terms of emblems) and are situational. Relying on others is what I dislike about them.
    11) Kate: By themselves, Kate's perks are pretty yucky. Mainly talking about The Dance With Me combo. Boil Over does a job, not excellently, but something, such as potentially wasting the killer's time. Windows of Opportunity is good-ish for awareness and counters Doctor in a certain way. Still not my taste.
    12) Bill: Borrowed Time is pretty okaish, really. But, honestly, I would never use it myself. Unbreakable is extremely situational and Sole Survivor few times is effective at all.
    13) Ace: RNGesus. Up The Ante is only useful for escaping the hook, and that is only once per match. Open Handed and Ace in the Hole are ew.

This is based on the current perk effects. It will be interesting to revisit this thread after all the rebalance is done.

I wouldnt mind if the staggering reduction applied all the time, while the speed boost remained being affected by Exhaustion.

Right now that's how it works, you always have fall reduction.

You do? Damn, never noticed. Havent really used much that perk.
  • Orion said:

The problem with the last two is that skill checks are supposed to be quick, and those sound like they could take a while.

    Understandable with the first one.
As for the second one, depending on the speed the moving target, it could easily be as fast as, if not faster than, normal skillchecks. I should have specified the moving target will move in a single line. What should change with every skillcheck is the position of this line (as in, horizontally, diagonally, vertically, etc).

You would have to change rule set no.2 if that's the case

    What do you mean?

She is referring to her add-on; Rules Set No.2. It would become completely useless because RBT will be activated instantly, while the add-on disables the survivors' ability to see them before they are activated.

Stealth is 33% of the game.
The other 33% being juking and strategy.

What about the last 33%? Complaining about BBQ on forum boards?
  • I honestly have no idea how I found DBD. It just happened. I looked up some pre-release footage, then it got released and I have been following it and playing ever since.

Before DBD, I didnt play stuff exclusively, other than Aion, which I do even to this day.
  • Next thing I will hear is that Pharmacy is toxic in itself because it allows you to get a flashlight faster which you will use to taunt the killer.
  • Do not attempt to heal yourself or let someone else do so. You could suffer from a disease or badly done after effects, especially from those with muddy, oily or bloodied hands. The only character you should trust is Jake, he has gloves.

Never jump off from a two-story building or into the basement. You have a high chance of getting the Mangled effect, reducing your movement speed, ability to heal or doing anything. Always use the stairs.
  • I am disappointed by this person ruining the reputation of Chiaki Nanami by having her as profile picture and saying such things.
  • I wouldnt mind if the staggering reduction applied all the time, while the speed boost remained being affected by Exhaustion.
  • Unpopular opinion here, I like the Dream World just like it currently is.
  • Honestly, no killer designs can be completely original because there is so much a human killer can be. A hunter with traps, a farmer joe, an old century nurse under a blanket, a semi-naked old lady, another hunter. A clown is no different.

What I could see happening is the fact that out of all killers (even between the licensed ones), he is one of the most realistically looking. The only ones who get as close as him are Myers and maybe Leatherface.
  • I only ever call Huntress a "Kuntress".
  • What if they made the first Jigsaw Box search to be a 100% chance to fail, and only then the survivor must check other boxes to remove the trap. Either as part of her base kit, or an add-on. :P
  • They said animations and such were still a WIP. Probably trap placement included.
  • A nice aesthetic change. Every survivor should get their special "stance" as well.
  • I disagree with several, honestly. And, we get it, you do have a strong love for Nurse's Calling. :P

Clourophobia: Its not "mediocre", its "decent" at least. Works especially good with killers with big terror radius. You say you would rather take NC instead, when together they work as a good combo. You could use it as a way to interrupt healing, but I see it as a way to make survivors waste time.

Deerstalker: Its not "mediocre", its "good". There are several times you benefit more from not picking up someone; no hooks around, its the Obsession, you spot the Obsession, someone else doing something you dont like, etc. Also, at least in my opinion, its a must have for Leatherface.

Make Your Choice: Its not "mediocre", its "good" or at least "decent". You just have to adjust your gameplay for it  It is somewhat situational, and needs a small QoL change, but it is in a good state right now.

    Monitor and Abuse: Mediocre...
  • Because of how different Kate's story (and the Clown's kind of), I feel it was meant to hint at the developers' "freedom" from their publisher. Its not even just her background, she also feels different in terms of appearance.

(Not saying it was some kind of tyranny, lol.)
  • I love Wraith's holding-a-fart expression.
  • I would date Amanda. Our date would be perfect; torturing other souls. <3
  • I have used them before on Pig and abusing her crouch power.
  • Lets make this Danganronpa and have all blood bright pink.
  • Sturdy Rope: A rope that has resisted the pass of time, just as tight as its first day. The chainsaw is tied to a rope, making the attacks an area of effect of 8m around the killer. Hitting objects does not reset the chainsaw attack.

(like a lasso and a chainsaw together!)

Physics Degree: Billy spent his years in the basement working on his education of real life physics. Chainsaw is now infinitely running. Chainsaw attacks will go through and destroy palettes, hay, corn, medical beds, log piles.
  • Also, for future reference, abbreviation for perks can be overwhelming. SB, SC, DS, STBFW, DH, WGLF, NC, etc.

If you look them up in Google, they will pop up. You can also look them up in DBD's fanmade database (deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com).
  • Honestly, I am very pleased with the changes. The only one that may have been too much was probably the changes to Exhaustion (but as long as it dealt with SB, was fine).
It still counters certain killer abilities, but at least it will only happen once per chase. :P
  • How to fix it?
Dont touch it, because it is fine as it is.
  • It's a shame that they don't do much original killer since their they are pretty good at creating interesting backstory to their character.
And they don't lack design wise either.

But "everyone" is beging for more and more licensed killer.

I mean, considering only 4 out of 12 killers are licensed, and how they are planning to release 3 other original killers, I would certainly not say there is a lack of them.
  • Honestly, the speed boost from Adrenaline is rather situational. The great majority of the cases you are either on the hook, in the killer's grasp or nowhere near them. That by itself is enough honestly.
The only change I would like to see is the perk not waking you up when triggered, at least in Freddy's current state.
  • I cant remember the last time I had Mother's Dwelling as map (without offerings)...
