At green ranks my queue times are fine.

Dont forget that most survivors ended at rank 15 after the event

I am willing to bet that Rank Reset might help solve alot of these issues we are experiencing.

I will take a break as usual after rank reset
If you rank up after reset very fast, then queue times will be insane too

As the title says I'm used to the usual flame especially after an event is over or a patch hits but the flamefest lately is just wow. I've been getting flamed post game in English and Spanish at the same time and getting the usual flame stuff but now it's pretty excessive.

I mean I know it's a 1.5 BP event and all but geez calm down it lasts a week and you'll still get some bonus bp.

Ive never been insulted in spanish, must depend on the region....
I mean, the game itself is rather dull, its all about the toxicity nowadays which is quite sad

I was searching for a method to make struggling and wiggling more comfortable for me (mouse wheel down is semi optimal) and I found a tool called Autohotkey. This can make scripts/macros for that. I searched around the Internet but couldn't find an official statement from EAC or the DbD devs, so I thought it's the best to ask here:
Is this allowed to use? Can I get banned by that?

This program is not listed on the EAC whitelist, so yes its usage can get you banned. However, we dont know whether EAC searches for it acitvely, but if it is detected you will be perma banned and there is no chance to get unbanned after that

You gotta decide for youself whether this "comfort" is worth risking a perma bann, for me it isnt

Not really. the survivor can stay there forever until they get the standoff they want, and hold the game hostage until they get it.

Agree. I suspect that EAC is blame for a significant number. It takes a good 15-20 seconds to validate, so don't be so quick to hit ready when the lobby fills.

There was a time at the beginning of the year where the game sometimes rcashed for survivors in loading screen. The devs fixed that though and survivors DCing now during loadingscreen usually dodge because of offerings / loading too slowly etc.

I know it's often said that survivors are the toxic ones, and mostly i'd agree, but this game i was against the most vile human being in this community. One of our teammates brought DS and a flashlight (both of which they failed at using so it barely matters anyway) and another teammate brought DS but the killer wouldn't have know as they weren't the obsession and they missed it. We had the misfortune of going against this wraith, who proceeded to face camp and extremely tunnel (as in no literally doing anything to go for that person) people in turn until we were all dead. 0 gens had been done by the first hook too so i don't at all understand his reasoning behind being so toxic. The person with the flashlight apparantly tea bagged but how can one teabag deserve all of that. This would have been bearable though, until his disgusting comments after the game, which in my opinion deserves a ban for what he said.

Mhm a SWF with DS BT and flashlight, you dont understand why he was "toxic" (tunnel and camp are strategies, not BM, gg ez was toxic though if that was him)

I rarely play with the Nightmare: if you believe that the transition time is too long or that the visibility of sleeping survivors' Auras is not a sufficient advantage, open a thread and suggest your corrections: who knows, maybe I'll agree with you.

    The current situation right now:

I chase a survivor and he simply runs at the hook and pulls off an unhook.
I hit the survivor AFTER he started moving, yet invulnerability still lasted long enough for some reason.

How is that fair? I was literally punished for a survivor misplay

@Master That is practically the only occasion in which the blinding has a fair chance to work: it is a mechanic conceived on purpose. The killer, on the other hand, can hit the survivors from the first to the last instant of the trial: there is no reason to hit him in the exact moment when the unfortunate man is suspended between the hook and the arms of his savior.

Well then how about freddy not beign able to do anythign while survivors unhook/do gens in front of you.

Anyway, why is the killer being punished for survivors doing misplays? Answer me that pls. If you cant play together as a team properly, then you deserve to die

@Master Do you think unreasonable that a character cannot be hurt when the player has no control? Let's see DarkSouls, for example: if you perry an enemy, an animation starts and your character is invulnerable until it ends.

Yes, a killer can be flashlight blinded during animation lock too even though he has no control.

When the Killer performs a break action, maybe show the aura of the object being broken (gen/pallet). That way a Survivor can tell if the Killer is chasing, or just patrolling, from across the map.

Before the "too OP" counter arguments flood in, just remember that there are far better perks that turn the game on its head, and give Survivors 10 more chances on top of the 10 they already get. That, and this perk is mostly for solo Survivors anyway; they don't always know if the Killer is in a chase, unlike SWF.

Uhm I think its quite strong already that a single perk reveals the killer breaking sth without range limitation to the whole team already.

  • @Nos37 said:
The Bloodpoint bonus is enough for most Killers to use Barbecue & Chili. The desired effect of the perk is to tempt Killers away from camping and/or tunneling. The aura reading part of the perk is tied to the camping, but it's too strong in its current form.

Have it reveal Survivors' locations instead of auras (like Rancor), and remove the minimum range limit so that the Killer can actually tell if the hook is being camped by Survivors or not.

At the very least, have the aura reading expire after one of two conditions have been met:

    • 4 seconds have passed (the deault condition for all tiers)
    • The Killer has moved 18 meters from the hook (the distance a Killer can cover in 4 seconds (moving at 4.6 m/s))

This should better balance the aura reading for high-mobility Killers. Even then, the Hillbilly can cover the remaining distance much faster than normal Killers, so Survivors have much less counterplay against him compared to other Killers.

The problem with "explosions" like rancor its impossible to locate 4 explosions happening at the same time. Additionally it is also important to determine the distance they are away from the hook.

  • The devs did exactly the opposite.

They introduced invulnerability during unhooking, faster unhooking animations and all that stuff.

What exactly is a 2 man hatch standoff though?

it is exactly that, 2 survivors will just hide waiting for the other to die, no gens being done, no totems, they will legit just hide in lockers and whatever shrubbery they can find and move slightly before crows spawn, but they can't hide if my power makes their model blink slightly.

Ahh, thats called hatch camping usually.

A hatch standoff is happenign when survivors and killers stand afk on the hatch waiting for each other to do sth because the hatch mechanic has been designed by idiots (sorry to say so, but its the truth)

If they release a new survivor perk that does that in next chapter, I'm fine with it: then you have to sacrifice a perk slot for this information. But for free? Noooooo. NOED is a decent perk, though not very good (too easy to counter), an ability like this would just toss it to the trash perk pit.

I don’t see a huge problem with this.

It further reduces the major gap of Solo survivors and SWF, and besides even without getting the NOED effect, the game was slowed down and you still benefited from it.

Certainly, the last thing Behavior should do is release a perk for this. That way they can begin to let rest their title “King of Bandaids” and actually start fixing problems.

It doesnt do anything regarding SWF balance, but thats another story^^
It would just be added onto the voice-comm built in perks

  • @Brot said:
How would the game change if everyone in the game would be able to see how many totems are left? It doesn't have to be shown all the time, but maybe you get a notification how many totems are left when you break one. As a solo survivor its very hard to be sure that all the totems are gone, swf players have a huge advantage when it comes to countering noed. As a solo survivor you waste a lot of time searching for totems which are possibly already gone, thats the reason why i don't go for totems at all when i play solo.

This would make totems as a secondary objective more attractive and it would slow the game down, which is very good for killers. As a downside it would make noed little bit weaker.

What do you guys think about that idea?

Sure, would be a neat idea for a survivor perk that doesnt break the game.

So I have only been playing a few months and I don’t understand what the ds issue is... isn’t that what dribbling and slugging is for?

Exactly. Dribbling, dribbling plus a Mori, slugging, Enduring, Rancor... just a short list of counters to DS. If you're new, I suggest you don't listen to all these whiners prattling about DS, NOED, camping, tunneling, flashlights etc :)

dribbling only works if the survivor gets downed under a hook which is his fault basically
Mori only works after you have hooked the survivor, so he got the chance to DS already
    Slugging doesnt kill survivors
Enduring weakens the stun effect, but survivor still gets free and is usually capable to make it to the next loop
Rancor doesnt work during the game

    Nice counters bro

Yup, "counter" doesn't mean "completely negate". Obviously survivors need tools against killers. I'd be up in arms too against any truly OP survivor (or killer) perk. I don't think DS is one.
Actually, when playing survivor I never use it, because it feels like a wasted perk slot. It's not that hard to down the survivor after a successful DS in just a few seconds, especially now that Enduring is more popular, thanks to Enduring+Spirit Fury combo. (I guess I don't much care about DS because I often use this combo.)

I get it that DS is annoying, especially when you get hit with it more than one time in a game. But I still feel complaining about it as pointless as complaining about NOED, tunneling and all the other usual stuff people complain about.

A counter is somethign that works effectively against a certain strategy, the stuff you listed arent counters, you can call them "weak counters" at most if you want to use that word.

THe counter to noed is cleansing totems for example, it completely negates its effect and its basically as if the killer didnt pick the perk and runs a 3 perk slot. Thats what a real counter is.

And yes, DS is truly overpowered, no doubt and even the devs acknowledged that.
If you dont use DS anyway, then you would be fine with a nerf anyway

If looping wasnt such a big thing, DS would be a lot weaker

Problem number one: if you play with many different killers, then you'll never reach high ranks.
Problem number two: people would heavily abuse it.

    Do I need more reasons?

Maybe you dont wanna reach high ranks?
Imagine this for example, you reach rank 1 with your tryhard nurse, but then you want to learn a new killer.....

Also, how could this be abused?

    Are you kidding me?
What could go wrong if a rank 1 killer suddenly switches to his rank 20 killer?

Well if he never played that killer he will perform badly too, isnt that the point of the rank system?

I dont get why this would be abuse. Sure a lot of general knowledge will carry over to another killer, but I dont see a real problem with this. SWF are allowed to queue with low ranks too, soo whats exactly the point?

You are making some massive assumptions here. This would result in new players quitting very soon since they would constantly be crushed by smurf killers. There are a lot of killers in the game now, how long do you think it would take to get them all to level 1? That is a lot of time that I would be paired up with inappropriate matches.

I derank regularly. The devs support the idea of deranking so I see no reason why I shouldnt. This is what I do to avoid these genrush SWF now.

And you know sth? The "beginner players" (usually they arent) enjoy these kinds of games, even if I 4k them. The best conversations I had were with beginner players that asked me for advice or sth. I guess this is also due to the fact that there are a lot of campers at the medium ranks that just make the game unfun for survivors. The only time I will use my full potential and make survivors suffer is when red ranks play SWF with low ranks and play like scum.

Sure, the community has some special individuals that will use this new rank system to bully beginner players, but they already can do now, so I dont see a reason why we shouldnt consider this. Also you can only do that a few times, your rank will rise eventually

And btw, we need to get rid of this monthyl rank reset, but thats obvious anyway
